My Reactions to WhatCulture Wrestling’s “20 INSANE Vince McMahon Stories Leaked By Secret WWE Source”
https://youtu.be/cFF6SrJEgDE
undefined
youtube
If you haven’t come across this video, grab a drink, relax in a comfy chair, and get ready to spit that drink all over your screen, because some of these stories in this video are truly terrible.
All set? Good! Let’s begin starting with 20! And warning, this about to be a loooong post.
#20. This makes me feel bad for the writers who do produce some good storylines and writing that get ignored because it doesn’t appeal to good ol’ Vince. Furthermore, it’s utter nonsense that it’s whatever Vince wants that goes. Like, should Vince have some say? Sure, he’s the owner of the company. But it shouldn’t just be up to him, because God knows he doesn’t have the viewer’s interests in mind when he’s approving a majority of the stuff that gets put on TV.
#19. Why am I not surprised that the B.S. Wild Card rule came about in such a fashion? It’s been a disaster since it was put into place and just prevents the unfeatured superstars on each roster from actually being used. For example, Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura were originally scheduled to be on a recent SmackDown Live, but it was bumped to being the dark match so that we could see more of Shane McMahon (the subject of a post that I need to make in the future).
#18. Again, feel a little bad for the creative team when they pitch something that may actually be good. Vince’s grasp over the group, as we all know, is making the product worse, and if the old bellend actually took a moment to consider the ideas thrown at him, maybe we’d get some quality television.
#17. Of course, another aspect that Vince totally ruins! I know the brand split is coming to an end (thanks ya damned Wild Card rule), but how are we honestly supposed to believe that the brands are different if so much stuff is so similar? I’m sure I’m preaching to the choir with such a question, but nevertheless. It makes matches like RAW vs SmackDown elimination matches at Survivor Series utterly pointless.
#16. To absolutely no one’s surprise, Vinny doesn’t watch NXT. Y’know what? That’s probably for the best; let Trips continue to oversee and put on excellent shows with the NXT brand(s). Otherwise, if Vinny Mac were to get his hands on this, we’d watch NXT and NXT UK, two of the few saving graces WWE has at this point, burn down in front of our very eyes.
#15. “VKM? Unaware? Who woulda thought, eh?” asked no one ever. I get it, he’s busy running a billion-dollar company, having meetings, working out, etc., but he can’t spare five minutes to check out what’s going on in the world today? Not even the wresting world that he wants to dominate? FFS, man! Hopefully the start of AEW TV will change that once they develop more and more of a following.
#14. I was actually unaware of this bit of information, and now that I know this I gotta say, much respect to Dana Brooke. I know I was negative about her when she first debuted on RAW, but this changes this. She deserves praise for putting in the hard work to become the best women’s wrestler she can be, but clearly Vince is the biggest roadblock to her showcasing her new skills.
#13. Not a big surprise. That’s all I’m going to say.
#12. The New Age Outlaws reunion? Probably not, but I would be fine with watching Road Dogg go to AEW. I’m sure he could do some incredible work behind the scenes in the promotion that he wouldn’t be able to do in WWE.
#11. So Vince loses interest easily... there’s a word for that, what is it again? Oh that’s right:
Tumblr media
#10. I’d love to see an absolute list of the people who are trying to get out of Dodge right now. The talent are unhappy and they have a right to be, as should the writers. Is the money really worth the frustration? Only time can tell.
#9. To quote Kanye West to repeat another point I made, “NO ONE MAN SHOULD HAVE ALL THAT POWER!” Things could have been much more solid for both brands if they had stuck with something and not changed it on the whims of a senile old man who finds humor in jokes for children.
#8. YOU’RE GODDAMN RIGHT HE IS! To no one’s surprise, the best thing on RAW every week is the brain child of Bray Wyatt, and this confirms for me that the Eater of Worlds and host of Firefly Fun House is a locker room leader.
#7. I honestly don’t know how to react to this one. Certainly weird, but I just... Why is she their boss? I know she’s Ultimate Warrior’s wife but like... ugh, moving on.
#6. New-found respect to Michael Cole who has probably had Vince barking B.S. in his ear for over a decade now. How the hell do you expect your commentators to do a quality job when you’re degrading them as their doing the job? It’s nonsense. Give them the points they need to make and let them go, they should be able to call the match just fine without the criticism.
#5. Bless you Sami for making this work.... BUT, if this is Vince talking through Sami Zayn, maybe you should use your power for good and make the proper changes! I know that ruins the point of Sami’s gimmick, but we all know what the real problem is, and it isn’t the WWE Universe (least not on a weekly basis).
#4. Bless you Neville/PAC for verbally bashing Vince on your way out of the company. He deserved so much better, as do many of the talented men and women still there. However, I’m glad he’s kicking ass in Dragon Gate and being the bastard we all know and... love? Hate? Tolerate?
#3. Of course the man behind little red carts, mannequin torture, and pooper scoopers is behind Ucey Hot. This feud could have been amazing, and I was looking forward to it at the beginning. But now it’s a mess because Vince has the humor of a 10 year old.
#2. This, by far, is the most disgusting of these 20 stories. Surprising? Absolutely not. Horrendous? You bet your ass! The man left Mexico to work for your company and this is how you treat him? He didn’t have to work for you, he coulda gone anywhere else! This is also evidence of Vince not watching NXT but I’m sure you, the reader, already could’ve guessed that.
And last but certainly not least, #1. Once again, to no one’s surprise but everyone’s displeasure. It’s a shame that this is the case because we all know how much of a good job Trips can do if he took control. But it’s very likely that Vinny Mac truly will die at his desk at WWE HQ before he ever lets anyone take control of his company, even if it means he’s ruining it in the process.

Media Tour Tanking Impressions! [FFXIV]
The Media Tour embargo has been lifted (over a week ago already) and I wanna give my quick impressions on each of the tanks! Let’s start with my current main first! Quick disclaimer however: potencies, durations and even skills are subjected to change before Shadowbringers’ early access starts on the 28th. If you don’t like something, please go to the official forums and let yourself be heard! Also, I might be missing some skills that got some minor changes. I’m sorry :<
Paladin (PLD): PLD got some nice stuff, mostly QoL to be honest.
- Iron Will is our not Shield Oath which increases our enmity generation. - Rage of Halone is our not Royal Authority that gets upgraded into Royal Authority at level 60. - Total Eclipse is now our main AoE move (RIP FLASH! I WILL MISS YOU BUDDY!), that comboes into Prominence when we get that at level 40. - Cover got nerfed a bit. No more 20% mitigation and it now costs Oath Gauge. - Oath Gauge... untouched. You still get it via auto attacks. 5 per auto. - Enhanced Shelltron! Now it doesn’t get taken after 1 attack and lasts the full 6 seconds! - HOLY CIRCLE! MAGICAL AOE! FINALLY A REASON TO USE REQUIESCAT INSIDE OF A PACK OF MOBS! - INTERVENE! GAP CLOSER! HALLELUJAH! - ATONEMENT! AWESOME NAME! ESSENTIALLY A REPLACEMENT FOR OUR 2ND ROYAL AUTHORITY COMBO INSIDE FIGHT OR FLIGHT! YOU GET 3 OF THEM AFTER 1 ROYAL AUTHORITY COMBO! - ENHANCED REQUIESCAT! INSTANT CASTS! MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED! - CONFITEOR! HOLY CRAP, THAT’S JUDGEMENT BLADE FROM FF TACTICS! IT DOES A CRAP LOAD OF DAMAGE AND IS AOE. IT ALSO ENDS REQUIESCAT IMMEDIATELY, WHICH KIND OF SUCKS BUT ALRIGHT. 800 POTENCY! AAAAAAAAAAAAA-
Overal verdict: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! PLD IS MORE OF THE SAME TO BE HONEST, BUT WHAT IT GOT IS SO FREAKING AWESOME.
Warrior (WAR): WAR, similar to PLD, got mostly QoL to be honest. Also, like PLD, it mostly stayed the same.
- Inner Beast and Steel Cyclone now get changed into Fell Cleave and Decimate respectively (NOOOOOOOO, STEEL CYCLONE!) - Onslaught is untouched. Still costs 20 gauge, only 100 potency and 10 second cooldown. Still just an gauge spender, not sure if you get crit rate up from building up gauge still. - Overpower now comboes into Mythril Tempest and it looks awesome! - Nascent Chaos! Infuriate now makes it so that Fell Cleave becomes Inner Chaos and Decimate becomes Chaotic Cyclone for 1 cast. Chaotic Cyclone is a 400 potency direct critical hit AoE attack and Inner Chaos is a 900 potency direct critical hit ST attack! Holy moly! - Nascent Flash! Bloodbath is back... sort of. You put it on a buddy and you get 6ish seconds (so 2 GCDs roughly) that heals the WAR for a portion of the damage and their buddy for half of that amount. The buddy also has 10% mitigation. It shares a cooldown with Raw Intuition (which got changed to just give 20% mitigation. NO MORE PARRY!)
Overal verdict: WAR got stuff! It got WAR stuff! It will cleave your face off with Inner Chaos! SE put more WAR in your WAR, so it’s pretty good!
Dark Knight (DRK): DRK, unlike WAR or PLD, got actually quite a few changes!
- Darkside is no longer a stance, but it is a buff! It gets activated after using Edge of Darkness/Shadow or Flood of Darkness/Shadow. It also doesn’t cancel passive MP regen anymore. - Unleash now comboes into Stalwart Soul, which fills the Blood Gauge by 20 and restores MP. Unleash also doesn’t cost MP anymore. - Blood Price is gone, but Blood Weapon can be used at any time. Blood Weapon doesn’t lower your GCD anymore though and it gives back 10 Blackblood per weaponskill or spell - The Souleater combo now always restores back some HP at the end of the combo! - Blackest Night somehow got more OP. It is now 25% of the targets max HP, so in Shadowbringers at our AF gear tank will get about a 25k shield from it. - Carve and Spit is now a flat potency and restores MP - Abyssal Drain is now an oGCD that also heals - DARK ARTS IS DEAD! Sort of! It is still a thing, but it is something you get when you break The Blackest Night and the only thing it does is give a free usage of Edge/Flood of Darkness/Shadow. - Plunge now can get 2 charges! Awesome! - Delirium got changed... again. It is now totally-not-Inner-Release, giving you 10 seconds in which all of your Bloodspillers and/or Quietus cost no Blackblood - Edge of Darkness. An oGCD that costs 3k MP and gives you 30 seconds of Darkside. It is single target and has 350 potency (upgraded to 500 when you get Edge of Shadow). - Flood of Darkness. Totally-not-Dark-Passenger (RIP Dark Passenger btw ;-;). Straight line AoE oGCD that costs 3k MP and gives you 30 seconds of Darkside. It has 250 potency (upgraded to 300 when you get Flood of Shadow). - Dark Missionary. An AoE defensive cooldown. 90 seconds cooldown, 15 second duration. Reduces magic damage taken by you and the party by 15%. Will be good for AoE damage, since a gross majority of AoE damage is magic damage. - Living Shadow! Costs 50 Blackblood, lasts for 24 seconds. Summons a certain NPC we are all too familiar with as a DRK and he does 7 400 potency attacks. The attacks he does in reality don’t matter (maybe Abyssal Drain and Quietus are actually AoE, but I can’t confirm that one way or another).
Overal verdict: DRK got a lot of good stuff! I’m sad that the Power Slash combo is completely gone now, since its finisher was freaking awesome and I loved Dark Passenger’s animation, but honestly... all it is getting is way too awesome to be sad over those 2 things for too long. There are a few complaints I have, mainly Dark Missionary being the same cooldown, duration and mitigation as Gunbreaker’s (GNB’s) Heart of Light while only covering magic damage while Heart of Light covers all damage. Kind of feel Dark Missionary could use either a longer duration, shorter cooldown or more mitigation (not too much in any which way) since it now just feels like worse Heart of Light. I know that they will be used for different things, but still feels weird. Gunbreaker (GNB): I won’t be covering GNB in detail since it is an entirely new job and I would need a completely seperate post for it. Big take aways are: it’s animations are a mostly 1 handed sword fighting style, it is LOADED with FF8 references, every GNB is Doomguy (Ready to Rip/Tear/Gouge? Demon Slice and Demon Slaughter? I know they are probably references to something else, but all I want to do is rock out to E1-M1), it has a random GCD DoT skill while every single one of those that weren’t really part of a rotation were taken away, it looks awesome, its abbreviation is GNB and NOT GUN THANK THE LORD, it’s cartridge system looks pretty good, its potencies from the media tour might need to get a bit buffed (REMOVE THE GCD DOT FROM THE GCD. JUST MAKE IT AN OGCD WEAPONSKILL LIKE EMPYREAL ARROW FROM BRD), it has a gap closer, lot of flips and stuff.
Overal verdict: I’m leveling this first for ShB and it might probably be my main job for the rest of the expansion at least. It looks freaking dope and I want all of it right now!
Overal thoughts on tanking: If you are a person that suffers from tanxiety (I hate that phrasing btw), tanking will be so much easier in this expansion. Square has finally decided to say “this is what we are going with” for tanking instead of trying to do both offensive and defensive tanking. With our level 1 passive of permanent 20% mitigation on us, tanking stances on level 10 across the board and fun looking rotations across the board, tanking is looking like it has never been more fun and accessible. The tanks do look a bit homogenized, but I have all hope and faith in SE to make them more unique and fleshed out in future expansions. I’m most likely gonna be maining GNB in ShB and you can expect me to make reviews for each of the tanks. Later and thank you for reading! I’m very excited about the future of tanking in FFXIV!

FFIII Facts of the Whenever: Plenty of Protags edition
Most Final Fantasies are story-heavy enough that they generally have a standard cast. Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy III are not story-heavy. and while Squeenix seems hellbent on turning FFI into the RPG equivalent of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy (where there is no canon, only suggestions), they kinda already did it with III. So let’s look at each version’s protagonists and compare and contrast.
Tumblr media
MC 1: The Onion Knights
These four kids are the OG Light Warriors. They fell down a hole while playing and were blessed by the crystal to become the Warriors of Light. In spite of primarily being known as the Onion Knights/Kids, they don’t stay in the class for long before getting jobs and ditching their starting class (though, if they reach the early 90s levels, they can get massive stat boosts if they go back).
The Onion Knights are in an odd place. They aren’t mute slates like their FFI counterparts, but they also don’t have personalities like even the FFII protags. They didn’t even have names as, according to the JP FFwiki, the names used in screenshots of the game varied. Even so, their job went on to become a recurring job in the series, so they have that much going for them.
Tumblr media
MC 2: The Manga Heroes
Final Fantasy 3 got a manga adaptation years ago and was the first time the four Light Warriors got set identities. Details about these four are scarce because the manga is JP only and data seems to be scarce even there. Based on JPFFwiki, here there are from top to bottom:
Muuchi: A 15 year old. Described as having a “Bright and Tough” personality. Uses the Fighter job (and even seems based on it), but also apparently gains summon magic?
Doug: A 14 year old. The youngest of the group and also, seemingly, the comic relief/trickster. Doesn’t use magic and fights with a knife (Thief Job)? Also has the best name.
Melfi: A 16 year old. The White Mage of the group. Apparently was the daughter of a landlord who died in the earthquake and by the end basically (has the potential to?) surpasses Unei.
J. Bowie: 17 Years old and thus the oldest.  The Black Mage of the group. Calm and cool. Becomes Doga’s successor at the end.
Outside of the manga, these four have never (to my knowledge) appeared in any other FF media. In some circles, people do use Muuchi’s name for Dissidia’s Onion Knight though. That said, one must wonder if it’s coincidence that the DS heroes follow a similar team structure (though with different jobs).
Tumblr media
MC 3: The Remake Heroes
When Final Fantasy III managed to get a remake for the Nintendo DS, a lot of things got overhauled in the process. This included giving the Light Warriors clear identities before cutting out 90% of the scenes featuring these new identities. I’ve already talked a lot about these guys so I’ll just give very quick synopsis and basically say what their jobs are.
Luneth: Unknown age. Based loosely on the original Famicom warriors, including being the only one to keep the full backstory, and very loosely designwise on the Aonuma Artwork Warrior. Consistently a Warrior in all of his appearances, but gained/used the Evoker class in a scrapped Castle Hein sequence.
Arc: 14 years old. Based very loosely on an NPC in Kazus. The only one aside from Luneth to keep the “adopted by Toppapa” part of the backstory. Usually a Black Mage, but was suggested to be a Scholar by Refia in a scrapped Castle Hein sequence and was interested in becoming a summoner in a scrapped Replito sequence.
Refia: 15 years old. The only one of the four to not be based on an existing Famicom character. Usually a White Mage, though she did have a minor subplot with a bard in a series of scrapped Duster sequences. Also, the only one as of this writing to be voiced (World of Final Fantasy)
Ingus: Unknown age. Based on a Knight in Castle Sasune. Usually a Red Mage, but is heavily implicated by both Doga and his own memories to be descended from a Dark Blade wielder (Ninja/Dark Knight) in scrapped sequences for the Cave of Time and Falgabard. As a bonus fun fact, he’s the only one to shift names during development, almost being called “Freyr”, though “Ingus” is technically the same/similar name due to the way runes work or something.
These four are generally the canon main characters in terms of FFIII itself, to the point where even Famicom screenshots/videos post-remake use their names. However they’ve made scarce appearances outside of material related directly to their game.
Tumblr media
MC 4: Onion Knight MK2
For Dissidia Final Fantasy, the representative for III was an unnamed Onion Knight. In general, he is an amalgamation of designs, based on the sprite and Aonuma artwork and taking cues from the remake for the helmet. In spite of being based on the original 4 Onion Knights, he’s considered very different, to the point where he has a different name than the job usually does ( 玉葱剣士 is the job, オニオンナイト  is the character). In essence, he is basically the III equivalent of I’s Warrior of Light by being the physical embodiment of the Famicom version of III. This is most likely for nostalgia purposes as he is based on the three strongest jobs of the Famicom version (Ninja, Sage and Onion Knight) whereas if they went with one of the DS characters, their EX Bursts would be based on the classes listed above (which aren’t exclusive to III). In spite of being somewhat divorced from the Famicom Knights, he does act as the general III representative and even heavily influenced Record Keeper’s portrayal of the Onion Knight.
Onion Knight has never been given a concrete identity. Whilst people speculate/claim that he’s Luneth or Ingus, there are various factors that disprove it; Onion Knight’s personality is, at best, an amalgam of the DS characters and at worst totally unique. He doesn’t act a whole lot like Luneth and his “Luneth” skin in Japan is actually called “Luneth-style” which is pretty damning. Meanwhile, some may argue that it’s Ingus, but Onion Knight still has the OG kids/Luneth’s backstory and is implied to be rather young whereas Ingus is implied to be the oldest member of the quartet. Finally, while some people might peg him as Muuchi as it’s claimed that the manga character names are the closest to official names, bear in mind that people barely know anything about the manga and of what there IS on it according to JPFFWiki is... pretty different to say the least (Saronia is sunken for one).
TL;DR: He’s Onion Knight and not (as far as we know) much else.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MC 4: Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-Game (And Friends)
This guy is the guy used in the early Famicom FFIII promotional material. As the title suggests, he does not appear in the actual game (though his party, seen on the bottom, has it even worse as that image is the only one in which they appear). It’s theorized that his appearance loosely (here meaning “they took note of his general hair-color/style”) inspired Luneth’s. At the very least, Onion Knight can dress up as him so maybe it is him (which, admittedly, just adds to the FFI!WOL comparisons...).
Now, this sort of thing isn’t that out there. As earlier mentioned FFI also has a ton of protagonists (Compare the actual game to Dissidia to the manga to Mobius to the Light Novel to whatever new and exciting ways Square decides to complicate it). But III’s case is still a rather interesting case, especially since the odds of any of these protags meeting each other is slim to none. The DS characters’ only interaction with Dissidia’s Onion Knight is through Record Keeper and that was mainly using recycled dialogue. Will that ever change in the future? Who knows.... but most likely not. For the manga characters/Famicom characters/Sir-Not-Appearing-In-This-Game, most certainly not.
