Skyrocketing Global Fuel Prices Threaten Livelihoods and Social Stability (NYT) “No Es Suficiente”—It’s not enough. That was the message protest leaders in Ecuador delivered to the country’s president this past week after he said he would lower the price of both regular gas and diesel by 10 cents in response to riotous demonstrations over soaring fuel and food prices. The fury and fear over energy prices that have exploded in Ecuador are playing out the world over. In the United States, average gasoline prices, which have jumped to $5 per gallon, are burdening consumers. But in many places, the leap in fuel costs has been much more dramatic, and the ensuing misery much more acute. In Nigeria, stylists use the light of their cellphones to cut hair because they can’t find affordable fuel for the gasoline-powered generator. In Britain, it costs $125 to fill the tank of an average family-size car. Hungary is prohibiting motorists from buying more than 50 liters of gas a day at most service stations. Last Tuesday, police in Ghana fired tear gas and rubber bullets at demonstrators protesting against the economic hardship caused by gas price increases, inflation and a new tax on electronic payments. The staggering increase in the price of fuel has the potential to rewire economic, political and social relations around the world.
Nicaragua expels Mother Theresa's nuns in latest crackdown (BBC) Nuns from the order founded by Mother Theresa have left Nicaragua after their organisation was stripped of its legal status. They were escorted by police to the border and crossed into neighbouring Costa Rica on foot. Their organisation is among the latest to be shut down as part of a crackdown on anyone deemed to oppose President Daniel Ortega. The Catholic Church has been outspoken about human rights abuses in Nicaragua. Local media said 18 nuns from the Missionaries of Charity were driven to the border in a bus escorted by migration officials and police officers. The nuns had been working with the poor in Nicaragua since 1988 and ran a children's nursery, a home for abused and abandoned girls and a nursing home.
A Year Since a President’s Murder, Haitians Keep Waiting to Hit Rock Bottom (NYT) The warring gangs took over several neighborhoods around Port-au-Prince weeks ago, going door to door, raping women and girls, killing the men, beheading many of the adults and then forcing the newly orphaned children into their ranks. One woman, Kenide Charles, took cover with her 4-month-old baby underneath a bed, waiting for the fighting to subside. It never did and she fled, crossing gang checkpoints with her son raised above her head, like a human white flag. This week marks a year since President Jovenel Moïse of Haiti was murdered in his home in one of the capital’s wealthiest neighborhoods as dozens of police stepped aside, letting the assassins through. Many Haitians had no love for the deeply unpopular president, but thought his assassination would be the country’s new rock bottom and believed they could start climbing back up. Instead, the picture remains grim with a seeming state of lawlessness taking hold in parts of the country. The violence that recently rocked Ms. Charles’s impoverished neighborhood over nearly two weeks in May is a sign of how brutal life is for many Haitians. “I see no future in Haiti for my kids,” Ms. Charles, 37, said. “Even to feed them is a struggle.” When Ms. Charles was finally able to return to her neighborhood on the outskirts of Haiti’s capital, the entire block of houses where her home once stood had been burned to the ground. The corpses of at least 91 victims lay along the streets or in their homes, while the attack left at least 158 children orphans, many of whom were then recruited by gangs.
Johnson resigns, remains UK prime minister for now (AP) British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said it is “clearly the will” of his Conservative Party that there should be a new leader as he announced his resignation. Johnson said Thursday he will remain as British prime minister while a leadership contest is held to choose his successor. Critics say he should not be allowed to remain as caretaker prime minister and he should be removed from office as soon as possible. The announcement came after the latest ethics scandal around his leadership led some 50 senior lawmakers to quit the government.
Germany eases path to permanent residency for migrants (AP) Tens of thousands of migrants, who have been living in Germany for years without long-lasting permission to remain in the country, will be eligible for permanent residency after the government approved a new migration bill Wednesday. The new regulation, endorsed by the Cabinet, applies to about 136,000 people who have lived in Germany for at least five years by Jan. 1, 2022. Those who qualify can first apply for a one-year residency status and subsequently apply for permanent residency in Germany. They must earn enough money to make an independent living in the country, speak German and prove that they are “well integrated” into society. Those under the age of 27 can already apply for a path to permanent residency in Germany after having lived in the country for three years.
Russia warns humanity at risk if West seeks to punish it over Ukraine (Reuters) Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said attempts by the West to punish a nuclear power such as Russia for the war in Ukraine risked endangering humanity, as the near five-month conflict leaves cities in ruins and thousands homeless. U.S. President Joe Biden says Russian President Vladimir Putin is a war criminal and has led the West in arming Ukraine and imposing crippling sanctions on Russia. “The idea of punishing a country that has one of the largest nuclear potentials is absurd. And potentially poses a threat to the existence of humanity,” Medvedev, now deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, said on Telegram on Wednesday. Russia and the United States control about 90% of the world’s nuclear warheads, with around 4,000 warheads each in their military stockpiles, according to the Federation of American Scientists. Medvedev cast the United States as an empire which had spilled blood across the world, citing the killing of Native Americans, U.S. nuclear attacks on Japan and a host of wars ranging from Vietnam to Afghanistan.
Ukrainians cling to life at front line (AP) Viktor Lazar shares his war-side balcony with a pair of opera glasses and a tiny orange snake, his only companion in an apartment that seems to sit at the edge of the world. The opera glasses, more of a joke, are hardly needed—the front line is visible without them. The rumbling of Russian and Ukrainian shelling is audible even now, although Lazar claims not to notice. Below his balcony is a crater, one of many. On the nearby street, a Grad rocket launcher rolls by. Lazar estimates the Russians are just 10 kilometers (6 miles) away. As the war grinds into its fifth month along deadly fault lines in Ukraine’s east and south, Lazar and his few neighbors in Kharkiv’s vast and shattered neighborhood of Saltivka represent a life without resolution in which many are trapped. New communities are being told to flee. Not all do. The Soviet-era apartment blocks in Saltivka once housed a half-million people, one of the largest neighborhoods in Europe. Now perhaps only dozens remain. Some of the buildings are blackened, while others are crumbling slab by slab. Tall grass overtakes abandoned playgrounds scattered with fallen and ripened cherries. Soldiers’ trenches are bare. In a few apartments now ripped open, laundry still hangs on the line.
Common enemy (Foreign Policy) The British and American domestic security chiefs held a rare press conference in London on Wednesday to sound the alarm about their biggest common threat: China. FBI Director Christopher Wray indicated that China had interfered in recent U.S. elections, while MI5 chief Ken McCallum said the British agency had more than septupled investigations into Chinese Communist Party activity in the past four years. How are the strong words going down in Beijing? Not so well. Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said British intelligence was trying to “hype up the China threat theory” and told McCallum to “cast away imagined demons.”
Chinese database for sale (WSJ) From April 2021 through last month, a 23-terabyte data file belonging to the Shanghai police containing 970 million rows of names, birthdays, addresses and IDs of Chinese citizens was left available to the internet to access without the need of a password. In what certainly appears to be the largest cybersecurity breach in China and among the largest in the world, a hacker took it, deleted it and demanded 10 bitcoin if they wanted it back. That amount matches the amount that a user sought as of last Thursday on a cybercrime forum seeking to sell a billion records of Chinese citizens’ information.
Shanghai, Beijing order new round of mass COVID-19 testing (AP) Residents of parts of Shanghai and Beijing have been ordered to undergo further rounds of COVID-19 testing following the discovery of new cases in the two cities, while tight restrictions remain in place in Hong Kong, Macao and other Chinese cities. Shanghai has only just emerged from a strict lockdown that confined most of its 24 million residents to their homes for weeks and the new requirements have stirred concerns of a return of such harsh measures. Apartment blocks where cases are discovered continue to be isolated, while mass testing in the majority of the city’s 16 districts has been ordered at least through Thursday. A negative test result obtained within the previous 48 hours is required to enter residential compounds and public venues under the “two tests within three days” program.
Ex-leader Shinzo Abe critically shot in shock Japan attack (AP) Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, an arch-conservative and one of his nation’s most divisive figures, was shot and critically wounded during a campaign speech Friday in western Japan. He was airlifted to a hospital but officials said he was not breathing and his heart had stopped. Police arrested the suspected gunman at the scene of an attack that shocked many in Japan, which is one of the world’s safest nations and has some of the strictest gun control laws anywhere. Abe, who is 67 and was Japan’s longest-serving leader before stepping down in 2020, was in cardio and pulmonary arrest as he was airlifted to the hospital, local fire department official Makoto Morimoto said.
Flood threat moves north as Sydney area emergency eases (AP) Floodwaters were receding in Sydney and its surrounding area Thursday as heavy rain threatened to inundate towns north of Australia’s largest city. Evacuation orders and official warnings to prepare to abandon homes were given to 60,000 people by Thursday, down from 85,000 on Wednesday, New South Wales state Premier Dominic Perrottet said. Emergency Services Minister Steph Cooke said record-breaking rain that began around Sydney on Friday last week was easing. “It is very pleasing to see that the weather situation is starting to ease after almost a week of relentless rain,” she said.
A hajj closer to normal: 1 million Muslims begin pilgrimage (AP) It is a scene that stirs hope—and relief—for Muslims around the world. One million pilgrims from across the globe amassed on Thursday in the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia to perform the initial rites of the hajj, marking the largest Islamic pilgrimage since the coronavirus pandemic upended the annual event—a key pillar of Islam. The hajj is a once-in-a-lifetime duty for all Muslims physically and financially able to make the journey, which takes the faithful along a path traversed by the Prophet Muhammad some 1,400 years ago. Pilgrims spend five days carrying out a set of rituals intended to bring them closer to God.

Plateau: CAN reacts to Christmas eve killings
The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has reacted to the recent horrifying incidents that occurred in Plateau State on Christmas Eve. The apex Christian body sent its condolence to families, friends, and communities who tragically lost their loved ones in the villages of Ruku, Hurum, Darwat, Mai Yanga Sabo, NTV, and Lisham Kwahasnat community in Wase Local Government Area, LGA. In a statement signed by Archbishop Daniel Okoh, CAN President, the body said it stands with the victims at this time of grief. “Our prayers go out to you for comfort and strength. The loss of lives, including those of our brethren in the Baptist Church in Chirang village, is a devastating blow to our collective peace and unity. “We condemn these acts of violence in the strongest possible terms. The burning down of houses, worship centers, and the destruction of properties worth millions of naira is not only a criminal act but also a direct assault on our shared values of peace, unity, and mutual respect. Such acts have no place in our society and must not be allowed to prevail. “We commend the swift intervention of the Military and the deployment of a joint police and military task force to restore peace and prevent further lawlessness in the affected communities. We recognize the efforts of State Governor Caleb Mutfwang in calling for peace and unity amid such adversity. “However, while appreciating these immediate responses, we urge the security agencies to intensify their efforts in intelligence gathering and proactive interventions to pre-empt and forestall these types of dastardly acts in the future. Our people deserve to live in peace, and it is high time we moved from reactive to preventive measures. “We believe in the unity and strength of our nation. We acknowledge the resilience of the people of Plateau State and the nation at large. We must reinforce this unity and resilience in the face of such adversity. Let us shun all forms of violence and embrace the peace and unity that our nation so desperately needs. “In this season of love and giving, let us remember the victims and their families not only in our prayers, but also by reaching out to them with relief materials. Let us extend our empathy and support, and commit to building a peaceful and prosperous Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole,” he said. Read the full article

Africanistan: The Ultimate War on Terror
Africanistan
“We love our country. But to love it you have to be alive. A corpse has no homeland.”
On an enslaved mass Europe drew cold lines. Millions tangled in exploitation’s cruel dance. The hope for a continent in Barbarian hands, A united, stable Alkebulan a utopian dream.
The General Act of Berlin announced in 1885, Only Ethiopia and Liberia would be spared. Foreign soldiers descend on coastal shores, The latest weaponry blots out Africa’s light.
If trading in its people weren’t brutal enough, Now minerals overflowed in Europe’s dockyards. The conniving aggressors greedy for more, Almost wipe out each other in two world wars.
Post-1945 nations clamor for independence, Communists subverting old colonial rules. America and the Soviets in devilish mode, Instilling their doctrines lit a hellish fuse.
Carnage in Africa, the frontiers unclear, Instability, ethnic conflict and terror ushered in. Popular movements had freedom in sight, Extinguished by a cold war decadence.
The Berlin Wall tumbled and a flicker of hope, Now Africa is courted like a beautiful bride. China’s approach is different from the west Understanding Africa’s worth, they invest.
Excess supply meets unlimited demand, Building roads, schools, bridges and ports. Russia still supply 50% of its arms: Africa seeking fresh prospects anew.
Twelve years ago, Clinton’s emails revealed, Whispers behind closed doors unveiled. Muammar Gaddafi’s vast hidden wealth, Treasure trove of aurum and silver’s stealth.
Nearly one hundred and fifty tons of gold, Knowledge of this secret stash WikiLeaks told. A plan was conceived in the Colonel’s heart, A pan-African currency, a project to impart.
Franco British intrigue craft a motive strong: Oil, boosted influence and reputations to uphold. In Tripoli the embattled streets run red, No-fly-zone, armed clashes and countless dead.
Islamists and Tuareg separatists in Mali, An excess of arms has primed the north grizzly. Thousands have perished, a million displaced, In an endless conflict Mali’s fate defaced.
4,000 of Timbuktu’s manuscripts plundered, Ansar Dyne’s destruction leaves culture sundered. Pick-axed and hammered saintly shrines and tombs, Protecting faith’s purity, the extremists fumed.
Burkina Faso ravaged by relentless perdition. Executions, looting and arson the story. Civilians in the crossfire recruited for militia: Volontaires pour la défense de la patrie.
A coup thwarts another coup’s dark intent, President Captain Traoré standing firm. Jihadist activity distresses the land, Neighbouring countries offer a united hand.
As in Niger, skating on alert’s icy brink, Deposed President Bazoum a bargaining chip. Charged with treason, he’s already condemned, ECOWAS threaten war but their plan is insane.
Twenty-nine dead soldiers in the south ignite, A counter-offensive killing terrorists overnight. Niger taking measures to neutralize the threat, France’s withdrawal cast conspiracies of doubt.
Boko Haram and Jama’at Ahl al-Sunna, Spread fiery rhetoric stoking angst in Nigeria. In the troubled north their dominant sphere, 3.6 million have been displaced.
In Zamfara state the usual tale of woe, Gunmen agitate and lawlessness flows. Many lives lost; sixty villagers snatched, And students wheeled off in pick-up trucks.
In Cameroon, lingering tensions of old, The struggle for language, a tale unfolds, Torturing, killings and arson explodes, Amnesty International raises its voice.
Rebel groups rise, in the bushes they hide, A decade of turmoil, divisions collide. Factories halt and roads broken wide, This anglophone crisis the violence divides.
In Central Africa, where hunger takes toll, Half the population in an arduous hole. To be born and survive is a fragile goal, 8% don’t see their first year of life.
Wagner’s entry and the Rwandans fight, Purged Séléka rebels from the country’s towns. The first in a decade, a calm before a storm, In a region still marred by conflict’s blight.
Congo-Kinshasa remains insecure, Six million displaced as suffering obscured. UN’s future shaky, talks aim to repair, Gender violence haunts, survivors in despair.
Poison of greed smeared diamonds with blood, Minerals fueling war, displacement and hunger. Political solutions urged as elections draw near, UN peacekeepers targeted; challenges severe.
Chad, with oil wealth, yet so impoverished, Bearing the weight of war-torn refugees. 300,000 and counting fled from Sudan, A fragile security, a nation in unease.
Under guise of wiping people’s tears away, The UAE covertly aids with brazen lies. In a remote town of Chad an operation thrives, Weapons and drones for the RSF side.
Hemedti and Burhan, once brothers share, A conflict spurring chaos in Khartoum and Darfur. Bullets, rockets, and the fighter jet’s snare, The devil on horseback returned with flair.
Sudanese Armed Force’s strafing strews panic; Home invasions, bombed hospitals, people can’t go out. The pillaging and the killing systematic – As night fell, death lingers, ready to pounce.
In Ethiopia it seems the madness rages on, Sexual violence and other crimes scarring the soul. Terror in Tigray and now fighting in Amhara, A nation’s recurring agony takes a heavy toll.
Government battle with their former kin, Allied forces turned foes in a war so grim. Abiy Ahmed planned to unite within, But too many militias disagree with him.
Somalian troops have engaged for years, Hide and seek with Al Shabab, left a brutal scar. Thousands have fallen but does anybody hear? Screams and blood sacrifice an endless affair.
A truck bomb in Beledweyne’s town square, Killed 21 innocents sprouting anguish over here. Buildings razed, plenty wounded on the ground, Never-ending turmoil like Black Hawk Down.
Mozambique is a land in flux and dread, An insurgency’s deadly shadow looms overhead. A million displaced in Cabo Delgado’s fright, Another nation struggling as violence excites.
Loved ones beheaded, homes razed to ashes, Men and boys compelled to join armed groups. Livelihoods vanished, education’s lost ground, Healthcare and food scarcity in critical loop.
South Africa’s parliament hall burned down, Tensions with the U.S. begin to install. Naval drills in the Indian Ocean enthralled, South Africa, Russia and China allied.
ANC has past links with these erstwhile friends, USA frustrated and controversy found. Accused of arms smuggling aim to undermine, South Africa’s neutrality in the war in Ukraine.
Changing alliances and strategic coalitions, South Africa chooses in this dangerous game. Africanistan unfurling amid proxy’s friction, Ever-evolving struggles in a global campaign.
Djibouti is a gathering of strange hosts. Military bases for France, Spain and Germany, The United States, United Kingdom, and Italy, Japan and Saudi Arabia: if there’s revolts?
Russia and India seek a presence to be, Thugs guard the continent by land and by sea. On African territory set long-term plans, Colonial frontiers drifting in the sands.
African nations in the Arab League’s clique? Non-Arab lands in a union they sit. A paradoxical blend of conquest and culture, Arabs enslaved blacks so lest not forget that.
What does America bring, a weak dollar’s sway? Backed by the military they print dollars every day. What does Britain bring but a duplicitous role? Preaching democracy, education, and birth control.
The sordid past of Françafrique’s grim view, A fierce dawn breaks and the policy renews. Africa’s roar is a force to be reckoned, Winds of change, chains strained and broken.
For too long held in their pernicious stay, Imposing notions that affect us today. White supremacy’s harshness, Arabian superiority, The darker skinned hue lambasted with no pity.
A narrative marred by such horrible stains, Yet within our hearts, resilience remains. Awakening from this long and troubled sleep, No longer inferior, our dignity we’ll keep.
For we are equal, capable with open eyes, Our brilliance shining as our spirits arise. From depths of subjugation, we’ll break free, A proud united people and strong, we’ll be.
Youth and time is aligned on terrain, The West grows decrepit and demographics wane. Empires decline as the past conveys. Like a sphinx we’ll rise even a millennium away.
So, bear the turmoil Alkebulan my land, Relay this on the hills and shout up to the sky – Proclaim to those seeking to seize our hand, AFRICA RISING, we shall cry again.

Téñsion! 2,000 Heavily Armëd Biafra Army Attack Nig Army Convoy In Imo, ...

Biafra Sovereignty: Panacea to Igbo Hatred in Nigeria.
There has been deep-rooted hatred against Igbo tribe (part of Biafra) in Nigeria since time immemorial. It is caused by jealousy and inferiority complex, on the part of Hausa/Fulani leaders, with Yoruba collaborators. They discovered the ingenuity of this group of people in Southern Nigeria, even before Nigerian independence. These Biafrans are very intelligent, creative, and industrious, like the Jews.
Therefore, they are hated and despised in Nigeria, just like the Jews by Egyptians of the old. Our people have been relegated to the background by our taskmasters. The latter are doing everything possible within their limits, to subjugate and kill our God-given talents. But, they are not the LORD who created us to be unique.
They have practically excluded us in the scheme of things: including governance and judicial appointments. We play second fiddle to them. Nigeria has been ruled over the decades by mostly mediocre, half-educated, ill-educated juntas, illiterates, as well as foreign impostors. They prefer a foreigner to rule over them than an Igbo man.
Biafra nearly succeeded to become a sovereign nation, during the civil war that ended in January 1970; but for the meddling of Britain, that imperialist nation in Nigeria. Britain supplied arms and ammunition, as well as personnel in exchange of our crude oil. Biafra soldiers were more tactical and fought gallantly. Before then, millions of Igbos scattered all over the country especially in the North, were massacred under the watch and tacit support, of Gowon-led wicked Government.
After the war which ended about 53 years ago, Nigeria ruling juntas came together, and resolved that no Igbo man would ever be allowed to rule Nigeria. That conspiracy has been sustained up to this moment. Peter Obi of Labour Party, was robbed of clear victory in this year (2023) Presidential Election. He is an Igbo man.
The last time somebody from South Eastern Nigeria ruled Nigeria was in 1966, in the person of Aguiyi Ironsi. He lasted for only 6 months, before he was brutally murdered and overthrown by Yakubu Gowon. It’s about 57 year now. No other Igbo man has ever governed the country.
We have been practically excluded from the scheme of things: including governance judicial appointments, industries and infrastructural development. There is hardly any federal industry in South East, to say the least. We have the least number of states among the six geo-political zones in the country. We have five, while others have six or seven. A lot of our communities were ceded to neighbouring geo-political zones after the civil war, in the name of boundary adjustment. For instance, Obigbo and part of Ukwa communities, were annexed to River State. These are pure wickedness orchestrated against us, by our occult rulers.
Nigeria is a lawless country under dictatorship. Nnamdi Kanu the Biafran leader is still being detained in DSS dungeon, despite several court orders to release him. World leaders, and almost all countries in the world, have called on Nigerian adamant ruler to release him. The LORD God we serve, will deliver us from the clutches of our own Pharaoh, and his idolatrous surrogates.
The recent stolen mandate of Peter Obi in 2023 Presidential election has proven that no Igbo will be allowed to govern this country. His labour Party won with a wide margin followed by People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and the ruling APC can third. Fulanis have been holding sway as Chairman of Nigerian electoral body INEC for about sixteen years. They do the bidding of those who placed them there.
We are looking unto the courts to do the needful, and declare the rightful winner. We are not wanted in Nigeria. They should allow us to have our Biafra. There, we will be able to attain our full potentials; and have a future for our yet unborn generation.... https://powertrumpeter.org/?p=363.

Today, disagreements between groups and individuals are settled through the judicial process in civilized societies. Due to the rule of law, all persons are entitled to a fair trial, regardless of the situation, before punishment is meted if found guilty. In Nigeria, however, many Nigerians shun the instrumentality of the law in settling disputes and refrain from seeking legal support.

By • Olalekan Fagbade Certificate saga: Peter Obi didn’t impersonate late brother – Labour Party cries out The chief spokesman for the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Organisation, Yunusa Tanko, has debunked the allegation that Peter Obi impersonated with his brother’s University of Nigeria academic certificate. Tanko gave the rebuttal in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday. The Obi-Datti spokesman slammed the Lamidi Apapa faction of the Labour Party, saying they are desperate to make Obi look like a bad product before the Nigerian electorate. Recall the Spokesman of the Labour Party faction, Abayomi Arabambi, had on Thursday alleged some discrepancies in the academic certificates of the former Anambra governor. Arabambi made the allegation while speaking in an interview on AIT News. Obi’s certificate sage followed controversy that trails President Bola Tinubu’s Chicago State University certificate. Obi and his Peoples Democratic Party counterpart, Atiku Abubakar, had dragged the president over the authenticity of the credentials he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission. While Atiku accused Tinubu of parading forged academic documents, Obi challenged the President to reveal his true identity to Nigerians. But, Arabambi, during a television interview, stated that it was unfair of the LP candidate to drag the president when he also has discrepancies in his academic qualifications. The factional spokesman alleged that the name on the academic certificate Obi claimed to have bagged from the University of Nigeria in Nsukka contradicts the name on that of his National Youth Service Corps. But, in his reaction to the allegation on Monday, Tanko swiped Arabambi, describing him as one of the few expelled members of the party parading themselves as members. The Obi-Datti campaign spokesman stressed that his principal couldn’t have been parading his late brother’s UNN certificate since both studied different courses. He stated, “Obi in his capacity as Labour Party standard bearer had innocuously advised the embattled President to rest the certificate-gate around him and save the country further embarrassment by reintroducing himself and putting the records straight. “A simple patriotic advisory that was informed by belief in anything that is connected to national development, but their hirelings, freebooters and lawless adventurers prefer to insult our candidate with fabrications. “In one of his pieces of fiction, they claimed that Obi was impersonating his dead senior brother; a farce, slapstick comedy from hell. Obi’s most senior brother is alive. One of his senior brothers who died was in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN years ahead of Obi and read Computer Science while Obi read Philosophy. Tanko further labelled the Lamidi Apapa faction as ‘political hirelings and buccaneers indulged in menial work of character assassination to ostensibly soil the name of our Presidential candidate.’ He stressed that it is on record that both Arabambi and Apapa are no longer with the leadership of LP. He stated, “At the forefront of these malicious hatchet jobbers, is Dr Abayomi Arambabi, who dubiously continues even to identify himself as a member and Publicity Secretary of Labour Party. “He and Chief Lamidi Apapa have been going about merchandising with the name of the party and endlessly castigating our flag bearer who we are proud to say is the most popular and loved Nigerian politician today. “As they go about using the name of the party, none has said anything positive about Peter Obi as the presidential candidate of the party they claim. That speaks volumes. Instead, they have even been more vociferous against Peter Obi than their sponsors, yet they claim they are of the Labour Party. “Is it not time the media houses blacklist them for wearing the devil’s coat and speaking on the saint’s platform. After all, none of them or their family members voted for Peter Obi,” he said.

2 million migrants
We're about to be overrun by 2 million impoverished migrants. The next decade if not the next century will be the most difficult of times since the aftermath of the Civil War and even the Great Depression. Law and Order, one of the great pillars of America, that separates it from 3rd world countries is collapsing...we're going down a very bad road that heads towards the lawlessness of Venezuela, Bangladesh and Nigeria. Better be in a Republican State because they're holding on to law and order as best they can. I just don't see what a small town could do if a thousand edgars plowed thru town raping and pillaging....terrifying to imagine...but I feel like it's coming if the Democrats win 2024

The problem is Haitian Gangs that have for all intensive purposes, taking over the nation of Haiti and has been circumventing the government of Haiti 🇭🇹 with Lawlessness, Uptick in ILLEGAL ALIENS entering the DR 🇩🇴, Criminal Mayhems, Murders of their own citizens but also foreigners there to help them, representing other governments 🌍 (like or African nations of Nigeria 🇳🇬 or Kenya 🇰🇪 or European nations of France 🇫🇷 or Germany 🇩🇪) and nations 🌏 (like China 🇨🇳 and Japan 🇯🇵) and churches ⛪️ or ministries ☪️✝️🕉️✡️ from the US 🇺🇸 (like of from Citylight or the Nazarene Church or Doctors Without Borders, and many Islamic brothers) and The Americas 🌎 (Canada 🇨🇦, Mexico 🇲🇽, Panamá 🇵🇦, Brazil 🇧🇷, etc) and recent restart rebuilding an Already Established ILLEGAL canal from the Río Dajabón (also nicknamed Río Masacré, for the Massacre River, in English after the massacre of some 20 to 50,000 Haitians during my uncle 5 Star General President Dr. Trujillo), which essentially divides our two nations coexist (ar times Confrontationally, as is the case now because they broke certain agreed upon laws of either territory or legal immigration) on the Island 🏝️ of Hispañiola. In other words, the DR 🇩🇴 President (which I do Not fully support), is Right on his stance, but Not Hard enough because the Truth is, That Haiti 🇭🇹 Despite ALL DR 🇩🇴 has done for them ALL the time, not just at the point of their needs (which seems to be ALWAYS) has been in Violation for quite some time (decades, which was the cause and effect of the massacre during my uncle’s 31 year reign) on ILLEGAL ALIENS CRISES that are 10 times Greater than that of US 🇺🇸 here with the only difference being that it’s only Haitians vs people from everywhere coming to the USA 🇺🇸 But the numbers are astronomically more in DR than US when you consider land mass and population to ILLEGAL ALIENS Entering ILLEGALLY and Staying ILLEGALLY and I suppose the needle 🪡 the broke the camel’s 🐪 back 🐫 was the countless murders of Dominicans vacationing or visiting Haiti 🇭🇹 and this ILLEGAL canal being constructed that can affect the ecological environment, agriculture and wildlife or even either or both populations on either side of this great river. A war May brake out and many will die on both sides but in the end, Haiti 🇭🇹 would Lose and quite possibly more than they bargained for. 🧐🙏🌎#REBTD😇

Thunderous fighter birds, loud torrential explosives, blood thirsty Kalashnikovs, monstrous and destructive tanks, bloodshed by the river banks, numerous catacombs interred, dismembered bodies on landscapes littered. Vengeful hearts embittered, countless tragedies, misery corrodes like corrosives, lawlessness without caution, insanity without option, hell is incessantly let loose, for safety you may never choose. Men of beastly testosterone on vulnerable women predate. Bastards are pervasively birthed; the seed of hate and discord is sown. Each course is decided by fate, essentials are ravaged by dearth, refugees to distant lands take flight, as they hope that peace will be in sight. Oh that men will cease to wage war! Oh that men will peace adore!

Sowore Urges Supreme Court to Summon Courage and Free Nnamdi Kanu
Tumblr media
Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress has called on the Supreme Court to show courage and release Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra. Recall that the apex court will on Thursday (today) hear the appeal filed by the secessionist over his continuous detention at the Department of State Services, DSS, facility in Abuja. The appeal, which was filed on November 3, 2022, was against the decision of the Court of Appeal which on 28 October 2022, stayed the execution of its earlier order acquitting him of all charges and directing his release from the custody of the secret police. Speaking ahead of the hearing today, Sowore in a tweet, asked the Supreme Court to let Mazi Nnamdi Kanu go. “#FreeNnamdiKanuNow. The Supreme Court of Nigeria must demonstrate courage today and stop the impunity of the lawless, inhuman and illegitimate Muhammadu Buhari flouting of court rulings. “Let Mazi Nnamdi Kanu go! #Revolutionnow”, he said. Joyous Holy Week celebrations around the world (AP) From dressing as Roman soldiers in Antigua, Guatemala, to carrying palm fronds on the streets of Lagos, Nigeria, Christians around the world are celebrating Holy Week. For millions of Christians, the week between Palm Sunday and Easter, known as Holy Week, is the most sacred time of the year. It’s the week Christians commemorate the passion of Jesus Christ. The week began with Palm Sunday, where mass at the Vatican was celebrated by Pope Francis in St. Peter’s Square the day after he was discharged from the Agostino Gemelli University Hospital in Rome, where the Vatican said he was treated for bronchitis. In Bolivia’s highland region, artists gathered for an annual event where they built sand sculptures based on Bible stories. Members of the faithful in Brazil wore tunics and hoods to take part in the Procession of Souls in Goiás state. And in Managua, Nicaragua, a child dressed as an angel during an event observing Good Friday. In recent years, Holy Week has been scaled back due to COVID-19 restrictions that require precautions such as social distancing and mask use. However, this year many of the faithful gathered in celebrations reminiscent of the era before the virus changed the nature of religious observance.
Stabbing of Cash App Creator Raises Alarm, and Claims of ‘Lawless’ San Francisco (NYT) The fury erupted within hours, as word spread that the 43-year-old man who had been stabbed to death this week in an enclave of high-rise condominiums near the Bay Bridge was Bob Lee, a well-known tech executive. The leaders of “lawless” San Francisco had Mr. Lee’s “literal blood on their hands,” Matt Ocko, a tech entrepreneur and venture capitalist in Palo Alto, Calif., tweeted. “I hate what San Francisco has become,” added Michael Arrington, the founder of the industry blog TechCrunch. “Violent crime in SF is horrific,” Elon Musk, the chief executive of Twitter and Tesla, chimed in. The drumbeat has built since then in the liberal city that only last year recalled its progressive district attorney amid calls for law and order and deepening frustration over the city’s homelessness crisis. While city officials agree that the murder is a terrifying tragedy and a signal that San Francisco has work to do on public safety, they’re also clashing with powerful figures in the tech sector over the nature and severity of the city’s problems with crime. The tension comes at a precarious time, as the tech industry implodes with layoffs and San Francisco itself struggles to bring visitors, conventions and legions of remote workers back to the too-quiet area in and around its downtown.
Resurgent remittances in Mexico (Foreign Policy) Flows of money sent to Mexico from abroad are at historic highs. This February, total remittances to the country accounted for 11 percent more than they did in February 2022, according to Mexico’s central bank. In 2021, Mexico surpassed China to become the country that receives the second-largest amount of remittances in the world. (India is no. 1.) The high tallies may reflect the post-pandemic economic recovery in the United States, where the bulk of the Mexican diaspora lives, the Economist reported.
Deadly Attack Exposes Growing Threat in Mexico: the Military (NYT) Gustavo Ángel Suárez Castillo, an American citizen from San Antonio, piled six friends, including two brothers, into his white pickup truck with Texas plates just before dawn, having spent the night celebrating the news that he was going to be a father. Suddenly, four vehicles filled with armed men began chasing and firing at them. The pickup truck crashed and as the passengers tumbled out, the armed men threw some to the ground, shooting one in the back, survivors told The New York Times. One recounted how he watched his brother slowly stop breathing while the assailants blocked medics from arriving. When it ended, five of the men, including Mr. Suárez, were dead and the other two severely injured. The attackers? Uniformed Mexican soldiers. The shooting in the city of Nuevo Laredo in the early hours of Feb. 26 has been called a coldblooded execution by the survivors and a top government official. So far, four of the 21 soldiers involved in the encounter have been arrested and the case is under investigation by civilian prosecutors and the military. The episode has deepened concerns about the growing footprint of Mexico’s armed forces, which has not only been put in charge of domestic security, but has also been given a rapidly expanding portfolio of businesses, like a new international airport and a major rail line.
Sweden Says State Actor Blew up Nord Stream Pipeline (AP) According to a new statement by Swedish investigators, it’s most likely that a state actor was behind the explosions that took out the Nord Stream gas pipelines late last year. “Our hope is to be able to confirm who has committed this crime,” said the public prosecutor leading the investigation, though he warned that “it should be noted that it likely will be difficult given the circumstances.” While Ukraine and some in the U.S. have blamed Russia for the attacks, investigations have returned a mixed bag of suspects: the New York Times has suggested that a pro-Ukrainian group was behind the attacks, while German media pinned them on a yacht operated by a pro-Ukraine Polish company. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh also released a report blaming the U.S. for the explosions, though Washington and the U.S. media have dismissed him.
Kremlin says its strategic aim in Ukraine is to create a ‘new world order’ (Guardian) Moscow wants any Ukraine peace talks to focus on creating a “new world order”, the French press agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) quotes Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov as saying. “Any negotiation needs to be based on taking into account Russian interests, Russian concerns. It should be about the principles on which the new world order will be based.” According to the agency, he added that Russia rejects a “unipolar world order led by ‘one hegemon’.” Russia has long said it was leading a struggle against US dominance over the international stage, and argues the Ukraine offensive is part of that fight. The Kremlin said this week it had no choice but to continue its offensive, seeing no diplomatic solution.
Facing critical ammunition shortage, Ukrainian troops ration shells (Washington Post) The artillery shells were stored in a shallow mud dugout, covered with a black plastic tarp to keep them safe. Just 14 rounds remained—evidence of a critical ammunition shortage that has the Ukrainians scrambling for ways to conserve supply until their Western allies can produce or procure more. The artillery platoon, with the 59th Motorized Brigade in eastern Ukraine, used to fire more than 20 or 30 shells per day with their Soviet-era howitzer. Now, they typically shoot one or two, or none at all. The ammunition that has pounded parts of Ukraine daily for more than a year has become a precious resource in the artillery war with Russia—and which side conserves shells and rearms faster could turn the tide on the battlefield. Even amid a shortage, Ukraine is firing some 7,700 shells per day, or roughly one every six seconds. Russia, which may also be running low, is firing more—by some estimates triple that amount.
China flies fighter jets near Taiwan after leader’s US trip (AP) China sent warships and dozens of fighter jets toward Taiwan on Saturday, the Taiwanese government said, in retaliation for a meeting between the U.S. House of Representatives speaker and the president of the self-ruled island democracy claimed by Beijing as part of its territory. The Chinese military announced the start of three-day “combat readiness patrols” as a warning to Taiwanese who want to make the island’s de facto independence permanent. The People’s Liberation Army gave no indication whether they might include a repeat of previous exercises with missiles fired into the sea, which disrupted shipping and airline flights. On Saturday, eight warships and 42 planes were detected near Taiwan, 29 of which crossed the middle line of the strait that separates the island from the mainland, the island’s Ministry of Defense said.
A Historic Handshake (1440) Saudi Arabia and Iran formally reestablished diplomatic relations On Thursday, a significant milestone in the relationship between two of the largest powers in the Middle East. The pair cut off ties seven years ago after Saudi embassies in Iran were attacked following the Saudi execution of a popular Shia cleric. Saudi Arabia and Iran have been engaged in a regional power struggle for decades, exacerbated by the differing sectarian religious views—Saudi is roughly 90% Sunni Muslim, while Iran is about 90% Shia Muslim. The regional conflict has also become a proxy for greater world powers, with Saudi Arabia generally working with the West and Iran forging close ties with Russia and China. Notably, the deal was brokered by China, marking one of the country’s biggest diplomatic moves in modern geopolitics.
Tesla workers shared sensitive images recorded by customer cars (Reuters) Tesla assures its millions of electric car owners that their privacy “is and will always be enormously important to us.” The cameras it builds into vehicles to assist driving, it notes on its website, are “designed from the ground up to protect your privacy.” But a Reuters Special Report shows that between 2019 and 2022, groups of Tesla employees privately shared via an internal messaging system sometimes highly invasive videos and images recorded by customers’ car cameras, according to interviews with nine former employees. One ex-employee described a video of a man approaching a vehicle completely naked. Also shared: crashes and road-rage incidents. One crash video in 2021 showed a Tesla driving at high speed in a residential area hitting a child riding a bike, according to another ex-employee. Two ex-employees said they weren’t bothered by the sharing of images, saying that customers had given their consent or that people long ago had given up any reasonable expectation of keeping personal data private. Three others, however, said they were troubled by it. “I’m bothered by it because the people who buy the car, I don’t think they know that their privacy is, like, not respected … We could see them doing laundry and really intimate things. We could see their kids.”
‘I’ve Lost a Lot of Flesh and Bone,’ Jeremy Renner Says, Recalling Snow Plow Accident (NYT) The actor Jeremy Renner, who was severely injured on Jan. 1 when a heavy snow plow ran over him, said in a TV interview on Thursday night that the truck had hit him as he was trying to save his nephew, an accident that broke more than 30 of his bones and upended his life. Mr. Renner, an Oscar-nominated actor who is perhaps best known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Avengers movie and TV franchise, spoke publicly at length about his frightening experience and arduous recovery for the first time in an interview with ABC News. “I’ve lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience,” Mr. Renner told the journalist Diane Sawyer. “But I’ve been refueled and refilled with love and titanium.” Doctors interviewed by ABC News said that Mr. Renner’s good physical shape and health had probably helped him survive. About 10 weeks after the accident, Mr. Renner is beginning to regain enough strength to walk with a cane. When asked in the interview if he sees the same face when looking in the mirror, Mr. Renner replied, “I see a lucky man.”
