Imma need a crash course on Yao MingMing and what I need to do to Stan forever

This is officially the most important ask I’ve ever gotten, so BUCKLE UP FOLKS

Who is Yao MingMing?

Yao MingMing is (currently) a member of Chinese group UNINE, formed from the Chinese idol production show titled “Qing Chun You Ni” which means “Youth Has You”. Most people just call it QCYN or Idol Producer Season Two lmao.

He debuted proper in UNINE’s MV and title track, “Bomba”.

UNINE is a temporary group akin to Wanna One or IOI, so the expiration date on this group does loom over everyone’s heads. But for now, we all love the UNINE debut EP, “Unlock”.

MingMing was born January 5th, 1997, making him fourth oldest in UNINE. He certainly acts younger though! In UNINE, MingMing is Main Dancer, Vocalist, and Sub Rapper. MingMing’s main passion in life is dance. Other talents include persistence, and imitating others.

But that’s the not the only place MingMing is from!!

He also participated in the Korean idol production show MIXNINE, where he came in tenth place, meaning he didn’t win. His ranking showed his popularity though since he was 1) a foreigner and 2) got no screentime.

While in Korea, MingMing was SUPPOSED to debut with a group called BLK. He would’ve been the maknae, a dancer, and a rapper. Due to his participation on MIXNINE however, he missed BLK’s debut with “HERO”.

After MIXNINE, MingMing consistently showed up in BLK’s Vlives and Instagram posts, even going with them to Japan KCON to perform. This was the “debut” he got with the members before all the members left their company due to internal issues. Including MingMing.

(All the BLK members that have Instagram still follow each other and leave encouraging comments on MingMing’s posts;;;;)

MingMing’s current company is One Cool Jasco in China, where he’s notably friends with Wen Yechen, a former JYP trainee. Yechen is basically MingMing’s little brother.

Fun fact: MingMing is famously known as an ex-Seventeen trainee member! That’s right, he was supposed to be one of THE original seventeen members! He left PLEDIS for personal reasons, but has stated he still talks to Seventeen, especially China Line.

MingMing was a trainee for 7 years and worked hard in two countries for his chance to finally debut with UNINE, so the best way to support him is to support UNINE! You can also follow MingMing’s personal Instagram, @____ymm! Or his WEIBO, which is a Chinese social media site UNINE mainly uses.

MingMing is a guy who looks serious at first, has a passion for dancing and performing, gets compared to a cat a lot, and he’s sweet and silly around people he likes. He’s a super hardworking guy I’ve wanted nothing more than to watch succeed.
