Hamefura romantic's progress
Hi everyone I was thinking about it for a long time and now we will talk about everyone's romantic's progress recently.
1) Geordo
Geordo is without any doubt the one with the most sweet moments, he kissed her a lot of times and we even had a chapter and some bonus stories on his feelings so I used to see him as the man lead but...in the chapter 5 in the light novel 13 Geordo ended up banned from the Claes House because he forcibly kissed Catarina out of jealousy so maybe the author wants to let the others have some moments too or maybe it will be ignored in the next novel. So there are still some chances. But Geordo is first for the time being. So don't worry Geokata's fans.
2) Keith
Keith is still behind Geordo but he doesn't really make any progress, he protects Catarina from Geordo and scolds her but that's all. His sweet moments seem a bit minors too. But at the end of the light novel 13 he seemed quite imposant while talking to Geordo so there is still some hope for him. But Keith is still shy about it so maybe the next sweet moments will be a bit late for him but he still have the avantage of being one of the only ones who confessed to her and he have their father's cheering. For the time being he is still mom zoned.
3) Maria
In the late volume Maria seems to have make some progress and even glared at Cezar, a royal, because she was afraid he will take Catarina to another country as his fiancée. And Catarina saved her from Sarah and some thugs but I don't think we have any sweet moment. I think she only glared at Cezar because she wants to stay by Catarina's side and if she is married to a foreign royal, it will not be possible anymore. Moreover she realized that Cezar is interested in Catarina. Still I personnaly see her as Catarina's personal bakery in my mind. But now she is protected at the Ministry of Magic so I don't know if we will have any sweet moment soon.
4) Raphael
I had a hard time to choose but it seems that Raphael is suprisingly one of the person who makes to most romantic's progress. I was suprised, generally we don't really mention him but in the last volume we talk about him a lot at the beginning and at the end of it. With Catarina blushing at his praise, thinking that if he was serious there would be no women resisting him, him worrying sick about her and agreeing with Laura when she said Catarina was too cute so a foreign prince could fall in love with her at first sight. What's more, the mysterious man Cezar and Catarina met is heavingly suspected to be his father, Marquis Dieke. So maybe the plot will be focused on Raphael for a while... Maybe the author felt bad for leaving him out ? For the time being Raphael seems to be seen as a love interest again so he still has his chances.
5) Cezar
The last volume was mainly focused on Cezar, we learn at of things about him and he was officially introduced as one of Catarina's love interests and he has Jean on his side , who now definitely wants Catarina to choose Cezar. Cezar is still in Sorcier at the end of the volume so I don't know if the story will still be focused on him or if his moments will be minors again. What's more we still don't know if Cezar will pursue Catarina even after what happened with Geordo or if he will try to contain his feelings again. Catarina doesn't seem to see him as an ordinary friend too... But I guess his position will depend of the next volume. He is a prince after all so he can rivalised with everyone.
6) Sora
Sora seems to have at least one sweet moment per volume and it's generally at the Ministry's gate. He is slowly but safely making progress. Catarina seemed to have big brother zoned him. But in the volume 13 he almost didn't appear .Maybe because it was mainly focused on Raphael and Cezar. But in the light novel 12 he is the only one to know a bit about Catarina's secret and biggest fear. He is also one of the only ones who know more or less Catarina's relationship with Cezar because the two of them wanted to save Catarina during the kidnappings at the Harbor ocean. So he still has his chances. Maybe an another rival will help him to step in. Anyway, for the time being he doesn't make any significant progress.
7) Alan and Nicol
Alan and Nicol unfortunately don't have any sweet moment since the light novel 11 where they got only one or two which are minors. Maybe they will have more sweet moments in the next volumes, who know ? But now they don't appear much and not with Catarina alone, so they should stand up a bit. Maybe the commotion with Cezar will help them. So don't stop cheering for them.
8) Mary
In Mary's case Catarina only seems to see her as a friend so we rarely ever have any sweet moment between these two. But Mary still gives her best and work hard for it. And of course protected Catarina from her others rivals.
9) Sophia
Even if Sophia is in love with Catarina, it seems that she isn't seen as a romantic interest anymore. She is seen as one of Catarina's best friends and Acchan's reincarnation. So we don't have any romantic progress with her but she still cheers up on her brother and wants to help him, we have a lot of funny moments with her and she is quite important in the plote too.
No ranked) Aaqil
The new character and love interest, I feel like I shouldn't ranked him yet since we only see him in the movie (and of course the light novel of the movie) but I don't think we should forget him. He seems important and I'm sure he will come back soon. And I love how bold he is, kissing her hand in front of everyone and even call her his "ranyamu" alias "beloved". I thought "How bold of him" He swore he will come to Sorcier again to meet Catarina so we can look forward to it.
The secret target :
??????
Don't forget that it is only for the time being so It can changes anytime. Keep on cheering your favorite one !

Hamefura x Pokémon AU: Other Teams Part 2
Part 2 of what Pokémon some others characters have, this time covering the people not mentioned in Part 1.
Thank you @dulcito-on-ao3, @logo-comics, and @thecagedsong for your suggestions.
Sienna Nelson
Starly/Staravia/Staraptor - First Pokémon - @dulcito-on-ao3 suggested Normal/Flying types and I agree they fit. Especially that Flying-Types match with her Wind Magic.
Jigglypuff - according to @logo-comics, Sienna deserves this cute Pokémon.
Kai Gerran
Honehege - because he is a sword fighting teacher
Absol - @thecagedsong suggested this based on @dulcito-on-ao3‘s idea of him having really bad luck of accidentally drawing the jealous attention of powerful men.
Escavalier - because he was part of a knight order. @dulcito-on-ao3‘s suggestion. Any other knight-themed Pokémon could also work.
Fray Randall
Hatterene - First Pokémon - a cute and elegant-looking Psychic-Type fits her so well. @logo-comics suggestion
Roselia - because it feels right to associate her with flowers like that. @logo-comics suggestion
Pidgeotto - a Flying-Type to fit her Wind Magic, also it represents her admiration of Larna Smith, who has a Pidgeot.
Ginger Tucker
Eevee/Jolteon - First Pokémon - because a Lightning-Type is perfect for a tsundere. Her father gave her an Eevee as a sign of favoritism after her Magic awakened, giving her siblings another reason to dislike her. @logo-comics suggestion.
Taillow - A Flying-Type to match her Wind Magic.
Marsha Catley
Marrill - First Pokémon - I headcanon Marsha as a Water Mage so a cute Water-Type fits her.
Beedrill - according to @logo-comics it fits her
Tom Wisley
Maractus -  to suit his seemingly imposing nature and general kindness. @logo-comics suggestion
Joanna
Indeedee ♀ - like most maids
Gothitelle - this Pokémon is described as detached which I guess fits with Joanna’s initial intimidating attitude. @logo-comics suggestion.
Cyrus Lancaster
Raticate - First Pokémon - he caught it when he was younger, since he grew up on a farm without much to his family's name and Rattata is a very common Pokemon. @logo-comics suggestion.
Boring farm Pokémon like Flaaffy or Wooloo. @thecagedsong suggestion.
Jirachi - everyone gives him credit and acclaim for the Jirachi, (kinda of like how, amazing, he's so strong and talented in magic) but really Jirachi just likes his Raticate and lets Cyrus be his trainer to stay close to his crush. It good for reflecting how Cyrus really doesn't fit in with noble society, despite holding high prominence in it. @thecagedsong suggestion.
Dewey Percy
Lopunny -  it matches his nature as a Tsundere and would be funny to see in general. @logo-comics suggestion.
Guy “Laura” Handerson
Bellossom - it’s what they deserve. @logo-comics suggestion.
Nathan Hart
Abra -  "it will be able to teleport him back town after he gets lost" they thought. Except he got the one Abra who gets as lost as he does. Occasionally his Abra comes out of his pokeball and will teleport Nathan. There is nothing anyone can do. The bonds of pokemon are sacred. Nathan never talks about where his Abra takes him. @thecagedsong suggestion.
Nix Cornish
Quaquaval - I feel that this Pokémon fits his flamboyant attitude.
Dartrix - this Pokémon is described as narcissistic which also describes Nix.
Lisa Norman
Zigzagoon - a reference to her racoon puppet which is now a Zigzagoon puppet. She does the ventriloquist thing with both the Pokémon and the puppet.
Caesar Dahl
Ursaring - His only Pokémon - Caught as a Teddiursa during his days as a mercenary with the one pokeball he got as a gift from the royal side of his family. Something powerful and wild, not something he can show easily to a crowd, just like he feels like his true self needs to be muted in order to help his half brother as a noble. The golden ring on Ursaring fits his golden eyes. @thecagedsong suggestion
Marquis Edmund Randall
Hypno - I can just see him using this Pokémon to try to brainwash his children into obedience. It does not work because their own Psychic-Types protect them.
Lord Coleman (Keith’s biological father)
Some Ground and Rock-Types. He only sees Pokémon as useful for his status. He does not mistreat them but doesn’t see them as friends.
Thomas Coleman
Tried showing off by buying rare Pokémon; he doesn’t bother to train them, always relying on items; he abuses his Pokémon, meaning theya re not loyal to him.
Mary’s sisters
A mix of cute and pretty Pokémon, mostly grass-types but any adorable, not-always fully evolved Pokémon works. They are more interested in contests and showcases than battles. I suddenly have this idea of these three putting on shows like Misty’s sisters.
Mothim, Beautifly, and Vivilillion - less powerful but matching and beautiful butterfly Pokémon. Strong against Mary's grass-types and purposefully excluding her. @thecagedsong suggestion.

Note
Hi, im just finishing vol 1of hamefura LN and... am I reading wrong or Katarina has considerably internalized homophobia? She describes keith falling for Nicol as a tragedy and going astray, and her view of girlfriendship.... does this continues in future novels?
Uggh that's kinda hard to say, and I feel like I might not be the right person to ask about something like that hgjsdf
Tumblr media
I don't remember Katarina saying that Keith hypothetically falling in love with be a "tragedy", did she use that word? The only thing I remember is that she said that although she'd prefer it if it Keith didn't fall for Maria, falling for Nicol might be dangerous for him. When I read it, I guess I kinda did get the idea of Katarina thinking that marriage between two men must be taboo, but not necessarily that she disapproves of it. Since she knows she's in Fortune Lover, she's assuming that same sex is the norm given the game, setting and time period. I feel like she meant it with good intent, for all she knows maybe Keith would get kicked out of the family is he pursued the son of the prime minister instead of focusing on becoming the next duke qwq.
Also, Katarina mentioned that it'd be bad for Keith to fall for a handsome boy, but when she assumed that Nicol might be in love with a married woman or man during her birthday party, she didn't seem to reject the idea (I guess because it's Nicol, charmer of both genders lmao), moreso just worried if her friend's feelings will ever bear fruit if its someone he felt like he couldn't attain. Maybe she was only open to the idea because it's Nicol, or maybe she's actually okay with it in general, who knows?
I think Katarina just has a heteronormative way of thinking rather than her having internalized homophobia (unless the two of those are the same?? I don't know I'm not socially aware enough for this qwq).
I've heard things about Japan is a country that's still sort of behind the times, still using old technology and is still pretty heteronormative to some extent. I doubt she had any opportunities to identify her sexuality or the kind of partner she wants when she's just living her life to the fullest and having fun. She didn't even get into anime and manga until middle school, only thanks to Aachan's influence.
From Volume 2, we find out that Aachan's taste in light novels and manga is the kind where she can project herself onto the protagonist in order to imagine herself having fun adventures with friends of her own, so probably a lot of shoujo or shounen series. Plus by high school, Aachan was really into otome games. I'm basically saying that not even media could have influenced Katarina's way of thinking, considering that Aachan (who is the one to provide and suggest the series they get into) seems to just only read NL content. Katarina knows Sophia reads BL novels when they both got older, but mentioned while she isn't completely disinterested in them, she feels like it's a dangerous rabbit hole to fall into. She was even a little bit transphobic to her co-worker in the magic ministry Laura (who is a transwoman) but not because she didn't approve of it, it was just kinda new to her because she didn't encounter things and people like that in her previous life.
We can only really grow to accept and understand feelings and perspectives like that by getting exposed to it, so you can't blame Katarina for being mostly heteronormative when she's never encountered stuff like that before.
I don't know, I feel like a lot of people in their youth these days are really able to identify or have courage to bring themselves out there thanks to the encouragement of the people around us and the influence of the media we consume. If Katarina doesn't have those media to help her, then she'll have to rely on her own self-discovery and the encouragement of her peers.
When it comes to her views on girlfriend-ship, we already know that Katarina adores and loves her friends regardless of gender (Maria being the biggest example), and whether or not she's just extreme in her appreciation of others or if it's a sign of her attraction to girls depends on the reader. Her worldview probably won't change unless her female friends finally become forward about their feelings instead of waiting for Katarina to figure it out on her own, if we get a clear stance on Sorcier's view of same sex marriage and relationships, or if we see a same sex couple in the story through Katarina's eyes. As the reader, we know/can speculate that Katarina likes both men and women, but she herself doesn't know that yet.
Since she's someone living in a Fantastical Middle Ages where the country is lead by a monarch, you gotta give her some slack for not assuming everything gets an OK in this new life & setting of hers.
Whether or not this is something that continues in future novels is something I can't really say. She maintains the same way of thinking that she does right now in the manga and anime as she does in the novels, nothing really changed aside from the fact that maybe she had picked up one or two tame BL novels due to being forced to by Sophia.
Again, I'm probably not the right person to ask when it comes to something like this. If I said anything wrong or insensitive, feel free to correct me! I'm not socially competent nor analytical enough to dig deep into Katarina's psyche qwq
Thank you for the ask! qwq

Hamefura LN13 Chapter 2 Summary (Part 2)
I am currently reading Hamefura LN13 and will post summaries after each chapter.
Chapter 1: The Foreign Study
Chapter 2: The Prince Of Ethenell (Part 1)
Chapter 2: The Prince Of Ethenell (Part2)
Encounter With Cezar
Katarina hears a group of noble ladies making aggressive approaches to a man. She can't see his face because he has his back turned towards her. Katarina feels sorry for the man, so she decides to help him. Since she is Geordo's fiancée and a duke's daughter, if she assertively tells the noble ladies to stop, they should listen to her.
Katarina makes Pochi return inside her shadow and then approaches the group. She tells the noble ladies that they shouldn't approach the man so aggressively. Katarina instantly gets sharp stares from the ladies. Looking at her, some recognize Katarina and try to correct their facial expression, while others maintain their hostile expressions. While Katarina prepares herself for a dispute, the man looks at her and is shocked. Katarina looks back at him and recognizes him: he is actually Cezar, the very one she wants to avoid! She completely forgot she needed to avoid him after Pochi ran away and she met again the mysterious young man.
Both Cezar and Katarina look at each other with shock, so the noble ladies get suspicious and one of them asks Cezar if he knows her. Cezar answers that he indeed knows Katarina. He met Katarina at the International Assembly and has been wanting to pay his respects to her. He asks the other ladies to give them some time alone, which results in the noble ladies shooting daggers at Katarina. Katarina gives Cezar a "How could you do this?!" stare to which Cezar replies with an awkward smile. Katarina can't believe what Cezar did. She attracts enough jealousy as it is just because she is the fiancée of the perfect prince, and now there are even more noble ladies resenting her. Cezar makes a sparkling smile, calls the ladies one by one, and discreetly tells them something. Then, they all happily leave.
Katarina is impressed with the way Cezar smoothly dealt with the ladies and asks him what he did. Cezar has only complimented something about them and told them he would contact them later. Cezar has dropped the princely smile and reverted to the way he was when they met. Cezar acts naturally with her, so Katarina also acts naturally with him. Katarina is impressed he could memorize each of their names. She is also very curious about how he comes up with compliments about them. Cezar explains he uses things regarding their families and also observes their dresses and accessories. It is the kind of experience he has picked up. Katarina thinks it is to be expected from a mercenary overflowing with sexiness. He must have led lots of ladies by the nose.
Cezar asks Katarina what she is doing here. Katarina explains she is here because of work. She realizes she must return to the Ministry, but then Jean arrives and calls out to Cezar. Then he catches sight of Katarina and warmly invites her for tea. Cezar tries to stop Jean but he completely ignores him. Katarina has failed to get the timing to refuse and ends up in Cezar's quarters to take the tea.
Taking the Tea With Cezar and Jean
Now that Jean has taken out sweets and tea, Katarina has ever more trouble telling him she is in the middle of work and can't stay.
She is impressed by how smoothly Jean invited her here.
Katarina feels like it would be rude to leave without eating anything. She should just eat some sweets and leave. She is also curious about these sweets that she has never seen before. As if reading her mind, Jean tells her that the sweets were made in Ethenell and that they are not available in any other country. It piques Katarina's interest and now she wants to taste each of them. Still, she knows she can't since she is in the middle of work. Looking at her, Jean asks if something is wrong. Katarina honestly admits that she would very much like to taste these sweets, but she must unfortunately return to work soon. Jean apologizes for inviting her while she is busy. However, he still would like her to enjoy the sweets since he has taken them out, so he offers to contact the Ministry of Magic in the name of Ethenell to let them know that she will return later. The Ministry would probably not oppose a request from Ethenell, and her dark magic lesson has been canceled today anyway, so Katarina gladly accepts Jean's offer.
Katarina takes a look at the sweets. She has no idea what they taste like since she has never seen them. She stares hard at the sweets, trying to guess their taste. Looking at her, Cezar suddenly bursts out laughing. Katarina is confused, so he explains that she looked at the sweets the same way a wild animal would look at its prey. Cezar can't stop laughing so Katarina pouts. Cezar apologizes: he has been steeling himself ever since he came to Sorcier and looking at her suddenly made him feel relaxed. Katarina didn't realize he was tense. Cezar explains it is natural given he has come as a prince to study in a major country like Sorcier.
Katarina doesn't know if her face has a relaxing effect but she has heard something similar from one of her superiors. He told her he could relax with her because she reminded him of an old farmer granny. Cezar is utterly confused about how it could be possible. Katarina explains she was working the fields with her superior when he said that. Cezar still can't process it and bursts out laughing. Cezar is laughing his heart out, so Katarina returns to the sweets.
Once he is finished, Cezar apologizes and tells her that he doesn't find her relaxing because of a supposed old farmer granny look, but because he can be himself with her. He also asks her to interact naturally with him from now on. Katarina is glad he can be himself with her., She also prefers acting naturally with him since the noble lady act would feel awkward after all this time. While making the exact same grin as him, Katarina tells Cezar she will act naturally with him from now on. Cezar smiles.
Katarina asks Cezar if she can eat the sweets now. Cezar laughs again and invites her to eat as many as she likes. Katarina starts with the gyoza-like sweets. The skin is crisp and a bit salty and the inside is sweet. The salty/sweet contrast is interesting. Next, she tastes the spring roll-like sweets.
Once she has eaten all the sweets, Cezar praises her for her heartily eating. He sounds like a grandpa praising his grandchild. Katarina realizes that she has been absorbed in her eating and feels embarrassed. But Cezar actually enjoyed seeing her relish her food. Since she seems to love them, he offers to have some of them packed for her to bring back home. Katarina gladly accepts. Cezar asks which she would like, but Katarina is not selective so he decides it would be simpler to have all of them packed. Katarina is overjoyed since she wanted to make the others taste them. Cezar asks her if she really loves Ethenell's sweets so much. Katarina says yes since they have different textures and tastes compared to the sweets she had until now. She is sad she can't purchase them in Sorcier.
Katarina asks Cezar if they plan to sell them out of the country. Cezar thinks people will oppose it since they are traditional sweets, except if it helps in the development of the country. Katarina thinks they would be popular since they are delicious and unusual. It feels strange to her that they haven't tried to sell them. Cezar explains that Ethenell has just gotten out of a long internal conflict, so diplomacy work has been at a standstill. They have just started working on it. Katarina remembers that it was mentioned in her international affairs lessons before the International Assembly.
Katarina asks Cezar if his foreign study is also part of diplomacy work. She remembers Geordo telling her that Cezar was looking for his future bride in Sorcier. Cezar confirms that there is this kind of intention behind his foreign study. As it is, Ethenell doesn't have enough power to make solid deals with Sorcier, so he will study its political system, organizations like the Ministry of Magic, and other things. Cezar seems to be only here to study.
Katarina wonders how his romance with Maria is supposed to happen in the game, so she asks Cezar how he will spend his days. Cezar will go on observation trips to study various workplaces that he has permission to look at. Later in the day, he will, for example, visit construction sites in town. Listening to Cezar, it seems to Katarina that Cezar has planned to pack his schedule with all kinds of observation trips. He doesn't seem to have time to fall in love, or even rest. Cezar may seem flirty but he is actually a serious and diligent person. She thinks it is a waste for him to spend all the time of his foreign study doing nothing but study. He might also collapse at this rate.
----------------
Katarina: Ummm, I understand that it is important to study, but since you are in Sorcier, how about spreading your wings and doing a little sightseeing for a change of pace?
Cezar: Even you say this? *sulking* Don't say the same thing as my older brother…
Katarina: Eh? Your older brother? Do you mean the King of Ethenell?
Cezar: Yes. That very one. He told me: "Since you will be on a foreign study trip, go and spread your wings!"
Katarina: Your king seems like a kind person. But why are you sulking?
Cezar: Yes, ever since he has become king, my older brother has become too freaking kind... Wait, who is sulking here?!
Katarina: Well, it looked to me like you were sulking...
Cezar: ...Sulking? What are you talking about, I'm not a kid! ...It is just that… The situation has just calmed down in the country and there is a mountain of work to tackle in this period. It isn't fair that only I get to rest.
Cezar said this in a pouting way, but I had one thing to tell him.
I pointed my finger towards him and said this.
Katarina: You know, no matter how busy you are, or rather because you're busy, get a proper rest. Even if only a little, you need to have changes of mood. Otherwise, your body and mind will break.
I had heard that diligent people like Cezar tended to push themselves especially hard and hit their limits.
Cezar was shocked by my words and couldn't come up with something to say, so I continued.
Katarina: It would be a great problem if you collapsed. And I think that is why your older brother told you to go and spread your wings during your foreign study trip. So that you could rest even if only a little.
I had said what I had to say, so, I was satisfied. In front of me, Cezar seemed to ponder what I said and stayed silent. Then at that moment,
Jean: You are exactly right.
I heard a voice that was agreeing with me.
It was Cezar's servant, Jean. He made a deep sigh and said this.
Jean: No matter how many times I tell Prince Cezar to rest at least a little or to get a change of pace, he won't listen. But since you said it too, Lady Claes, he will finally listen a little. I am glad.
Cezar: Jean!
Cezar called him out while wrinkling his eyebrows, but Jean completely feigned not hearing him.
--------
Tumblr media
Looking at them, Katarina thinks Cezar and Jean must be close. Jean honestly expresses his thoughts and Cezar doesn't seem to reprove or punish him. They are more than just a master and a servant. Katarina wonders if they're childhood friends.
Jean asks Katarina if she has any place to recommend for sightseeing and getting a change of pace. Katarina is about to recommend her favorite restaurants, pastry shops, and bookshops, but she realizes that they may not be suitable places to recommend to a high-ranking noble. Katarina admits to Jean that she doesn't know any high-standing places and can only recommend eating places. She expects Jean to be disappointed, but, to her surprise, he grins. Jean explains that it is actually better that way since Cezar doesn't like formal places. It makes sense to Katarina since Cezar used to be a mercenary. Then, she starts listing all her favorite places with Cezar seemingly interested and Jean happily listening.
Once she is finished, Jean asks Katarina if these places are easy to reach for people who are not familiar with the area. Katarina doesn't think so, they will probably need to hire a guide. Jean doesn't think it would be ideal since Cezar and he would go to these places incognito. The guide would need to know their circumstances. Katarina would be ideal, so Jean excitingly asks her if she is free tomorrow. Katarina is indeed free tomorrow. Jean earnestly asks her to be their guide tomorrow. Katarina politely accepts since she can't refuse. She would rather avoid interacting with Cezar because of the game, but showing them around the town sounds fun. Jean is incredibly happy that Katarina has accepted. Katarina is a bit embarrassed but also excited to work on a program for the sightseeing outing. Cezar comes to Katarina and awkwardly apologizes for Jean's forcefulness. He tells her he doesn't mind if she wants to refuse. Katarina says it is okay and that it would be her pleasure to be their guide. Cezar thanks her with a gentle smile.
Katarina asks Cezar if he and Jean are childhood friends. Cezar says they indeed are, ever since the day his older brother picked him up. Katarina is puzzled about the term "pick up". Cezar thought he already told her, but he lost his mother when he was a child, and when he was about to die while ignored by everyone, he was saved by his older brother who took care of him. Katarina knew about his past as a mercenary but she thought it was only a hobby and that he had been carefully brought up at the royal palace.
Katarina asks Cezar if it is really okay for him to tell her this, especially about the inner palace and the circumstances of his birth. Katarina feels like his story is similar to how the inner palace was a den of thieves with rampaging dark magic during the rule of the previous King of Sorcier, which is a fact that has been kept hidden. Cezar replies there is no problem because the previous king's lewdness and his inner palace were well-known facts. As for Cezar's birth circumstances, he has grown up under the guardianship of his older brother, so it wasn't hidden. Still, it could be a problem if it were made public. Cezar playfully asks her if she will tell everyone. Katarina puffs up her cheek and asks him what he would do if she were a bad person. While she has no intention of telling everyone, she is still originally a villainess. Cezar laughs and says that in that case, he would just regret his lack of discernment. Though, he can assure her that he has a good eye for people thanks to his experience, so he can tell that she is not a bad person at all. Hearing him, Katarina is surprised and embarrassed at the same time.
Katarina changes the subject to chase off her embarrassment. She tells Cezar that until now, she always thought that he was carefully brought up in the royal palace. She was surprised to hear that he suffered this kind of hardship. Cezar replies that it was only the case until he was six. After that, he was under the guardianship of his older brother and was indeed carefully brought up, so she wasn't wrong. Katarina is glad that, despite the hardships, Cezar can talk about his past with such a warm smile. Cezar continues. After his older brother took him in, he lived in a luxurious room, ate delicious food, received an education and sword training from the best teachers, and despite his busyness, his older brother came to check up on him whenever he had some spare time. Jean adds to this that sometimes, Cezar would also sleep with his older brother at night. Katarina is surprised to hear this and wonders if Cezar can't sleep alone. Jean explains that Cezar was afraid of lightning when he was little. Cezar embarrassingly asks Jean not to tell her things that she doesn't need to know.
Katarina comes back to her initial question and asks them how they became childhood friends. Cezar explains that after taking him in, his older brother left him in the care of his former wet nurse, who assigned her youngest son Jean to be Cezar's playmate. Jean adds with a grin that Cezar was so small and cute at that time. Cezar retorts that it was the same for Jean since they are about the same age. Jean doesn't agree since a few years apart made a big difference at that time. Besides, Cezar was small for his age and had a lovely face, so Jean thought that he was a girl at first. Cezar has a displeased face, Jean is grinning.
Looking at them, Katarina tells Cezar and Jean they are like brothers. Cezar makes an even more displeased face and tells her he doesn't need a brother who keeps poking fun at him. Katarina replies that it is what older brothers do. Cezar is surprised by Katarina's definition of an older brother. After all, his half-brother is very nice to him. Katarina replies that it is because they are far apart in terms of age. A big brother close in age would act differently. Katarina thinks of her older brothers in her past life. Her eldest brother who was way older than her was very nice to her, while her second older brother who was just a little bit older always poked fun at her. Cezar ponders Katarina's words, then seriously says that he still doesn't want an older brother who pokes fun at him. Hearing this, Jean burst out laughing. Katarina whispers in her heart: "But you know Cezar, Jean had an incredibly happy and gentle look in his eyes when I said that you were like brothers earlier, it is just that you didn't notice it."
After that, Cezar proudly talks about his older brother, and Jean shares some childhood stories about Cezar. Katarina also shares her own stories since she has a cool and reliable younger brother, who had a cute and girly face when he was little.
Time flies and Katarina realizes that she must return to work. Jean offers to contact the Ministry again on her behalf, but she refuses since she has something she needs to do at work. Cezar apologizes for keeping her here, but Katarina replies that she had a good time and enjoyed the long conversation they had. She apologizes for taking so much of their time. Cezar tells her he also had a good time for the first time in a while. He also counts on her for the sightseeing outing tomorrow. Katarina is fired up about creating a good program for the outing. Upon leaving, Katarina receives the Ethenell sweets that have been packed for her. Jean insists on escorting her on the way back.
Discussion With Jean on the Way Back
While they walk, Jean thanks Katarina for taking the time to have tea with them during her work hours. He also apologizes for forcefully asking her to be their guide tomorrow. Katarina flusteredly says it is fine since she had a good time and even received a lot of sweets. She should be the one apologizing for taking so much of their time. Besides, she is also looking forward to guiding them around. Jean chuckles and thanks Katarina.
Jean: Lady Claes is such a wonderful person, it seems like my master has solid tastes.
Katarina is puzzled over Jean mentioning the tastes of his master. Jean replies it is fine if she doesn't understand.
Jean also thanks her since Cezar has been able to relax thanks to her. Jean was worried about Cezar pushing himself so hard lately, but after talking with Katarina, he could see him smile for the first time in a while. Katarina isn't surprised since Cezar told her that he had been steeling himself. Cezar seems to be a serious and diligent person. Jean is surprised that Katarina could tell: Cezar doesn't show it, but he is actually quite serious and diligent. Jean already had this feeling when Katarina made her "Get some rest!" speech, but now he is convinced that Katarina can see through people. Katarina feels embarrassed and says it was just a feeling she had. Jean still thinks it is amazing.
In any case, Jean warmly thanks Katarina since Cezar will probably rest more from now on. Katarina asks if Cezar hasn't rested since he arrived at Sorcier. Jean confirms he didn't since he keeps studying all day without a break. Their sightseeing outing tomorrow will be his first break. If he hadn't talked with Katarina, he would have had another observation trip a little later. Since he keeps working no matter what, he would have ended up collapsing just as Katarina said. Katarina wonders if Cezar is like that in Ethenell too. Jean says yes. Cezar throws himself into work without rest. When the King worriedly asked him to rest, he just worked in secret. Without any other options, the King organized this foreign study trip, hoping that sending Cezar out of the country would make him rest. Katarina didn't realize Cezar was such a workaholic. Cezar doesn't have to take care of urgent issues while out of the country, so Jean thought Cezar would be able to rest, but instead, Cezar packs his schedule with observation trips. Jean understands that it is important to study and bring the knowledge back home, but he wishes Cezar would rest. After hearing this, Katarina guesses that Jean invited her for tea to make Cezar rest. Jean says yes and apologizes for his forceful invitation. Katarina doesn't mind it.
Katarina: You really treasure Prince Cezar, right?
Jean is speechless, so Katarina explains her reasoning. Jean has been working hard for Cezar's sake. He could be punished for upsetting a noble, but he still invited her and asked her to be their guide. After he did the latter, she noticed that he had been carefully watching her reactions so that she wouldn't get angry or upset. After all, it was their first meeting and he didn't know her well. Some haughty nobles would consider Jean's attitude disrespectful and ask for him to be punished. Jean still acted for Cezar's sake despite the risks, so Katarina can tell that Jean treasures Cezar. Jean admits it and apologizes again for his attitude. Katarina tells him it is fine, she just thought their bond was lovely. Jean drops the fabricated smile and shows her a natural and gentle smile. Most probably Jean's true smile.
Jean: Lady Claes, you really are a wonderful person. For you to bestow such words on me despite my disrespectful behavior... I really would like you to choose that person.
Katarina is confused but Jean tells her not to pay attention to what he said
Jean confirms that Cezar is someone important to him. With a warm and nostalgic smile, he tells her that the first time he met him, he strongly felt like he wanted to protect him. He has become attached to him, and back then, he found it cute how he would always cling to his back. Jean is the youngest sibling of his family, but he really considers Cezar as his little brother. When Cezar talked about getting out of the inner palace, he decided right away that he would follow him, because he wanted to keep watching over him from close by. Cezar had a lot of hardships and suffering, so he would like him to find happiness. Jean has gentle and yet pained eyes as he says this. Because Cezar keeps overworking himself.
Katarina tells Jean that she will make sure Cezar gets relaxed during their outing tomorrow. She will also help him make Cezar rest. Jean smiles.
Katarina and Jean have reached the gate, so they say goodbye.
Leaving the Castle
Katarina realizes that despite coming here only to deliver documents, a lot happened in only half a day: Susanna returned to her a dark magic tool that seems to date from the foundation of the Sorcier Kingdom, Jeffrey told her to be careful, Pochi ran away again to go to that place, she met again Geordo and Alan's uncle, he told her confusing words, she entered Cezar's quarters, she ended up taking the tea with Cezar and Jean, and she promised to be their guide tomorrow.
When she returns to the Ministry, she will give out the sweets and work hard on her afternoon assignment. But before that, she will take a little nap during her commute to the Ministry.
Back To The Ministry
Katarina arrives at the Ministry during lunch break. She heads to the Magic Tool Department and finds her senpais relaxing. She goes to Raphael's desk. He is reading a document while eating a sandwich. She announces her coming back. Raphael's face lights up upon seeing her.
Raphael: Thank goodness, you are safely back. I wouldn't have known what to do if you had been taken away to another country.
Katarina thinks Raphael is joking and tells him it didn't happen. Then, she invites him to taste the sweets she has brought back. She tells him these sweets are only made in Ethenell and feel different from the ones from Sorcier. Raphael tastes one and indeed finds it delicious. Katarina doesn't think Raphael should work during his break and proposes a sweets break. Raphael accepts with a smile.
Katarina is about to make tea but Laura arrives with some tea already prepared. She has prepared sweets and tea for Raphael because he is a workaholic and she wants him to rest.
Laura is glad that Katarina could safely come back. She was worried that Katarina might have really been kidnapped, and because of this, she asked Raphael to look into it. Katarina laughs and tells Laura that Raphael has already made this joke. Both Laura and Raphael tell her it wasn't a joke and that she should really be careful. Katarina apologizes to them for making them worried. She thinks her senpais worry too much, but even Jeffrey and Susanna told her to be careful, so she will follow their advice.
After Katarina has arranged the sweets and tea on a table, the other senpais gather and taste the sweets. They love them. Katarina regrets that Sora, who is on a mission outside, and Nathan, who has taken the day off, can't enjoy them.
After the lunch break, Katarina works as usual with Maria on deciphering their respective covenants. Since the dark magic tool she has dates from the foundation of the Sorcier Kingdom, she wonders how old the Dark Covenant is. It doesn't look used but it may be due to a dark magic spell. She feels like the mystery around dark magic has deepened.
Katarina has been able to make some progress on the deciphering work. She parts with Maria and goes home.

Hamefura LN 13 Chapter 2 Summary (Part 1)
I am currently reading Hamefura LN13 and will post summaries after each chapter.
I have split Chapter 2 into 2 parts since it is so long.
Previous chapters:
Chapter 1: The Foreign Study
Chapter 2: The Prince of Ethenell (Part1)
***Cezar's POV***
Cezar's Past
Ethenell's previous king was a lewd man who would take the women he desired in his inner palace and then chase them out once he was tired of them. Many women were pleased to get a short luxury life, but if a woman happened to get pregnant, she would be confined in the inner palace.
Cezar's mother was one of these pregnant women. Many of them would lose heart over being kidnapped, and then confined forever, but Cezar's mother was strong. She was part of a traveling troupe, and then she got kidnapped, was forced to sleep with the king, got pregnant with his child, and was locked in the inner palace. In her situation, people would normally spend their time crying, or take their own lives, but she stood strong and kept telling Cezar that once he was older, they would escape the inner palace, join a traveling troupe, and spend their time traveling. She was serious about it and stood strong to fulfill this promise. Unfortunately, Cezar's mother was very weak to heat because of her snow-white cold skin. She would always get sick during the summer. The summer was particularly hot when Cezar was six and she died because her body couldn't stand it.
After his mother had died, Cezar couldn't afford to be sad. As no one cared for him anymore, he was completely neglected in the inner palace and would likely die a dog's death. After he had collapsed, the women around him called him filthy and urged someone to dispose of him, but someone came to him and asked him if he was alright. Cezar mustered his strength to open his eyes and saw that it was a high-ranked noble. The person urged people to call for a doctor. The people around him tried to dissuade him, but the person didn't let them object. He took Cezar's hand and told him to hold on. Cezar felt warm feelings from him and lost consciousness.
When he woke up, Cezar was in a gorgeous and luxurious room that he didn't recognize. He also felt better. He wondered whether he had died and if this was the afterlife. Then, a young man entered the room. It was a virile and healthy-looking man with high-quality clothes, and probably someone of high status. When the young man asked how he felt, Cezar answered as politely as he could. The young man smiled when he said he felt better.
Cezar convalesced in this room, and after he had recovered, he also learned academics and swordplay there. After his body got better, Cezar learned that the young man who saved him was actually his half-brother, and also a candidate for the throne. Upon realizing the difference in status, Cezar tried to correct the way he addressed him, but it made his half-brother sad. His half-brother considered him his little brother since he didn't have any siblings from his mother, and he didn't interact much with their other siblings. His half-brother enjoyed taking care of him and Cezar could tell that he treasured him very much. Cezar wanted to stay by his side and support him.
Once he was able to go out without his half-brother, he realized that a lot of people frowned over his half-brother and him being close, especially the half-brother's mother. Since Cezar was born to a mother with an unknown upbringing, he brought his half-brother's reputation down by staying by his side. He thought maybe he needed to leave his half-brother for his sake. He sought advice from his half-brother's wet nurse and her son Jean, who was also his best friend. Cezar loved his half-brother as much as his half-brother loved him, so he couldn't bear to be a burden to him. It was painful for him that he couldn't return the favor. So he decided that once he would be 15, he would leave the inner palace When he left, he officially said that it was because he didn't belong to the place, but in truth, it was because he didn't want to be a burden to his brother. His half-brother was sad about his parting but didn't oppose it, on the contrary, he gave his support. Jean also accompanied Cezar when he left because the half-brother was worried about him setting off alone.
Cezar and Jean became mercenaries because Cezar had heard it was a quick way to earn money. As a mercenary, he hunted down rebels who targeted the royal family and his half-brother's faction. He believed it was for the sake of his half-brother. Cezar couldn't forget the day his hands were first stained with blood. He feigned composure on the outside while he couldn't help feeling sick. He kept trying to persuade himself that it was necessary so that he could live freely. He kept trying to persuade himself that he wasn't bothered by it.
Ten years passed and Cezar, now accustomed to his easygoing mercenary life, heard that his half-brother had been enthroned. His half-brother had deplored for a long time the decadence of the country and had kept saying he wanted to change it. While Cezar couldn't help him in the inner palace, he hoped that hunting down rebels helped his half-brother even if only a little. When he went to see his half-brother who had become king, the latter asked him to help him, so Cezar didn't go back to his free life as "Mercenary Cezar", and instead, returned to being "Prince Cezar Dahl".
Back to the Present
While Cezar is absorbed in his thoughts on the deck of the ship taking him to Sorcier, Jean, who is now his servant, asks him to return to his room or else he might fall into the sea. Cezar politely replies that he will be fine. Jean discreetly tells him that it was his polite way to ask him to get the hell back to his room because he is making all the newbie sailors nervous. Cezar looks around and realizes that Jean is right. He is now a prince but he still acts the same way as when he was a mercenary.
Cezar is currently riding a ship from Ethenell to Sorcier. It is a shabby ship compared to the Sorcieran ship he rode to the International Assembly. After all, Ethenell is still studying shipmaking from Sorcier. There is also an inexperienced crew on the ship because the seasoned sailors fled the country because of the civil war.
Cezar can't help feeling guilty about being the only one going on a foreign study trip to Sorcier. He feels like he should rather take care of the mountain of work for the reform of the country. Jean assures him it is fine since the King himself told him to go. If he had stayed, he would have just overworked himself. Cezar still feels guilty to be the only one who gets to rest. Jean insists it is fine since the "Big Sis" is there to support the king.
The person Jean referred to as "Big Sis" is the Queen. She has been the half-brother's ally since long ago and wanted to reform the country together with him. Now that she has cleaned the inner palace, she is finally able to support him. Like the King, she told Cezar to go rest in Sorcier.
Cezar still feels guilty. Jean tells him he is always overthinking things. Resting is part of the job and he has hardly rested ever since he left the inner palace at fifteen years old. Cezar retorts that, in that case, Jean should be the same. Jean simply replies that unlike him, he knows when to rest. Jean smirks since Cezar cannot retort anything to that.
Jean adds that this foreign study trip to Sorcier is also the occasion for Cezar to meet a girl he likes. Cezar retorts that he can't do that since she is engaged to one of the princes of Sorcier. Jean teases him: he has only said "a girl he likes" without making it specific. "So, there's a girl you like? :p" Jean splendidly got him. Jean feigns ignorance but he knows who Cezar likes, and most probably reported it to his half-brother. It might be why his half-brother told him "Go on a foreign trip to Sorcier and create good relationships".
Despite this, Cezar thinks it would cause an international problem if he were to steal the fiancée of a prince of Sorcier. His half-brother probably thinks it would be fine since there are rumors saying that
the third prince's engagement is most likely a contractual one since he got engaged not so long after his older brothers
Sorcerian nobles freely break off the engagement decided by their parents during their childhood and marry for love
Katarina has enrolled in the Ministry of Magic because she intends to break off her engagement with Geordo.
However, Cezar could see at the International Assembly that Geordo and Katarina's engagement was not a simple contractual one: Geordo, at least, is deeply in love with Katarina. Geordo is still immature because of his young age but Cezar feels like he will grow into a formidable man. Cezar doesn't think he has the ardor to make an enemy of Geordo to get Katarina. Most probably not.
Ever since Cezar met Katarina, he has been able to do more things that he couldn't do before. Maybe because she has accepted his eyes that he has been hiding behind black lenses. Despite meeting only a few times, he loses his composure whenever he thinks about her. Ever since it was decided that he would go on a foreign study trip to Sorcier, he has remembered things that he forgot until now.
Cezar asks Jean to get out of his room because he wants to get some rest. Jean gets out without a fuss. Cezar lies down on his bed and steels his mind. He will focus on taking advantage of his foreign study to create good relationships. He will contain his feelings and not interact with Katarina no matter what.
*** Katarina's POV***
Start of the Day at the Ministry
Katarina has heard that Cezar has safely arrived in Sorcier and started his foreign study. Even so, Katarina mostly commutes to the Ministry of Magic and then back home, so she may actually never encounter him while he is there.
Katarina heads to the Ministry, then the Magic Tool Department. No one is here yet. Work has not been busy recently. The busyness of the department can usually be measured by the size of the bags under the eyes of the vice-director, Raphael.
The weather is fine, so Katarina opens the curtains so that the room is basked in sunlight. She also takes the broom and starts sweeping. Cleaning the place on sunny days puts Katarina in a good mood. At first, people were shocked whenever she started cleaning the place, but now they are used to it. While it is unusual for ladies of her status to use a broom, she actually uses it at home when her mother urges her to clean the dirt she has brought inside the house after working the fields. In her past life, she also cleaned her room and the school.
Her coworkers arrive in the department room. Laura thanks her for cleaning the place. Katarina notices that Laura has new clothes, which have even more frills than before. Laura has been dressing more intensely lately. Laura explains that, since she dresses as a man for her mission, she wants to dress even girlier in response to that. She has also bought some new make-up. Katarina asks her if she has bought them at the shop she talked about a while ago. Laura confirms. She highly recommends the shop to Katarina since they have quality products. Katarina is not sure about that since she doesn't know anything about cosmetics. She always leaves it to her maid Anne. Laura thinks it is a waste since Katarina has such a pretty face. Katarina thinks Laura is flattering her. However, she has also heard her maids say the same thing. Even so, Katarina is more interested in food than cosmetics, so if she ever visited a cosmetics shop, she would probably end up going to the food shops nearby. Katarina is knowledgeable about food and farming, but not so much about cosmetics, which is something Anne regrets too. When Katarina tells her she is more interested in food than cosmetics, Laura calls her a kid. She thinks she should take care of her appearance for the one she loves. When she asks Katarina if she likes someone, Raphael arrives.
Everyone greets Raphael. Katarina realizes that Sora is actually not here and looks around in search of him. Looking at her, Raphael explains that Sora will not be here today because he has been sent on a mission outside. Raphael also has a specific task for Katarina from Larna.
Larna's Request to Katarina
Larna will be at the castle for the day and she would like Katarina to deliver something to her. Raphael will be Larna's stand-in, so he won't be able to teach her dark magic anyway. Katarina wonders why Larna would specifically ask her to go on an errand, but she accepts.
Laura doesn't think they should let Katarina do this task. Raphael thinks Katarina should be fine since the castle is safe and she won't get lost like Nathan would. But Laura insists that Katarina is so cute that a foreign prince could fall in love with her at first sight. Laura sounds like a grandma who can't help boasting about her grandchild. Katarina feels so embarrassed she feels like running away. She expects Raphael to retort something as tsukkomi, but to her surprise, he agrees with Laura. Katarina feels even more embarrassed and really wants someone to retort something. In the end, Nix retorts that Katarina has lots of heavy turn-offs that make her uncute. Besides, she is not as beautiful as him. While Katarina appreciates the retort, she feels a bit annoyed that he would be the one saying she has turn-offs. Laura doesn't agree with Nix. Nix is annoyed that Laura insists that Katarina is cute and suggests she accompanies Katarina if she is so worried about her. Laura replies that she would like to do that but she can't go to the castle. Katarina tries to change the subject by asking Laura why she can't go to the castle. Laura replies that she would be treated as a suspicious person there. Nix thinks that she just needs to act properly even if the people of the castle question her.
It is time to start work. As Laura and Raphael are still worried about her, Katarina assures them that she will be fine since he often goes to the castle. Katarina prepares the things to deliver to Larna. She feared it might have been a magic tool but it is only some documents. Katarina wonders why Larna especially asked her to deliver them. Raphael also gives her a letter from Larna that she must read on the way.
Katarina opens the letter in the carriage. Larna wrote that she would not operate as "Larna" at the castle. Upon reading this, Katarina understands that Larna will be there as "Susanna". Only a few higher-ups know that Larna is Susanna Randall. As for Katarina, she realized it thanks to her special skill, which enables her to recognize her loved ones even if they are disguised. She recently revealed to Larna that she knew her true identity. Katarina feels relieved now that she understands why Larna specifically asked for her.
When she arrives at the castle, Katarina states that she has something to deliver to Susanna Randall. The servant communicates the room Susanna is in and also informs her that a foreigner is at the castle for his foreign study. Katarina remembers that Cezar is supposed to have arrived in Sorcier. She makes a detour to avoid the places where Cezar might be and arrives at the room Susanna is in.
Talking With Susanna and Jeffrey
When she enters the room, Katarina is surprised to see Jeffrey with Susanna. Katarina is flustered over having to watch her manners, but Jeffrey tells her there is no need. Susanna tells Katarina she is free to consider Jeffrey as a pebble. Katarina is shocked that Susanna can be so rude to a prince. Jeffrey tells Katarina not to mind it too much since this is how they always are. Katarina is surprised since they don't appear so intimate in public.
Katarina gives the documents to Susanna. Susanna takes a look at them and confirms everything is okay. Katarina is glad to have fulfilled the task, but she wonders why Susanna forgot these documents and why she didn't retrieve them herself since the Ministry is not so far from the castle. Susanna replies that she must stay at the castle today to interact with the foreign prince who has come for his foreign study. Normally she wouldn't make this kind of mistake, but she actually wanted to give and tell Katarina something.
Susanna returns to Katarina the pocket mirror object that Geordo bought for her during Keith's kidnapping case. It appeared to be a magic tool, and it was thanks to it she could form a contract with Pochi. After the case, she left the magic tool with Larna so that she could investigate it.
Unfortunately, Susanna couldn't learn much about the magic tool, except that it is very old. Based on the material, it seems to have been made during the period of the foundation of the Sorcier Kingdom. Katarina is surprised to learn it is such an old artifact since it seems to be in a good state. Larna thinks it might be because magic was cast on it. Maria has confirmed that there is a faint trace of dark magic on it. Katarina is amazed that dark magic can be used to keep objects in such a good state. Susanna thinks it can also be the dark magician who is amazing. Dark magic, like other magics, is influenced by the skills of the caster.
Aside from this, it also means that dark magic already existed during the time of the foundation of the Sorcier Kingdom. The pocket mirror object might have been created before magic developed in Sorcier. There is so much mystery around dark magic, but Susanna hasn't been able to dig anything. There is nearly no data on the hundreds of years after the foundation of the kingdom, especially regarding magic. The Sorcier Kingdom is supposed to have been founded by magic wielders who came from another continent, but this is not necessarily true since history can have been rewritten at some point for any reason.
Anyway, Susanna couldn't find anything despite many investigations, so she thought she should return the pocket mirror object to Katarina. However, she can hold on to it if Katarina doesn't want to keep it.
Katarina is hesitant to keep it. This pocket mirror object has dark magic attached to it and some kind of history. She doesn't think Geordo would hold it against her if she let Susanna keep his gift. But this pocket mirror object is also what enabled them to save Keith. Besides, she has a feeling that it isn't a "dangerous" or "bad" object, but rather a "good" object. She has no basis for this, but her gut feeling usually turns out to be right. As a result, Katarina decides to keep the pocket mirror object.
Tumblr media
Next, they move on to the next topic. Jeffrey tells her about how dangerous the person behind Sarah is. Despite all his efforts, he still hasn't been able to catch them. And this person most likely targets her. Katarina has only considered the danger of her doom flags until now, but she can feel the danger of a person that Jeffrey and Susanna can't catch. Jeffrey is trying to protect her and her surroundings as best as he can, but at the end of the day it is Katarina herself who can protect herself the best, so he asks her to be very very careful.
Susanna and Jeffrey have finished their business with Katarina, so they return to attending to Cezar. Before leaving, Susanna advises Katarina to rely on Pochi.
Talking to Pochi
Katarina ponders Susanna's words on the way to the carriage gate. Pochi can get huge and usually listens to what she says but there are times when he is out of control. Katarina summons Pochi when she is in a corridor out of sight. She tells him that she is targeted by a dangerous person and asks him to protect her when she is in danger. Pochi barks like he understood what she said. Katarina happily thanks Pochi and takes him into a hug. She thoroughly enjoys his fluffiness. Pochi suddenly senses something. He gets out of Katarina's arms and runs full speed somewhere. Katarina feels sad that Pochi would suddenly abandon her despite the great mood they had there. She runs after him.
Meeting Again the Mysterious Blond Man
Without surprise, Pochi leads her for the fourth time to the forbidden area where Geordo and Alan's shut-in uncle lives. Katarina wonders if there is something in there that attracts Pochi. Pochi won't answer when she asks. Looking around, Katarina doesn't find the place so strange except that it is a bit dark because of the unpruned trees.
Last time, she peeked at one of the open windows, which led her to meet an incredibly gorgeous young man who was probably Geordo and Alan's uncle. At that time, despite being their first meeting, he called her a villainous lady for leading the prince on and playing with him. Unlike the badmouthing she heard in high society, these words stuck deep in her heart because they were true. But it is thanks to these words that she has been able to think of her feelings afterward, so she feels thankful for them.
Still, Katarina doesn't want to hear painful words like that again. As she thinks of turning back, Pochi suddenly runs further inside the area and jumps inside a brushwood. Katarina chases after him and goes through the brushwoods. At that moment, she hears the voice of a man startled by Pochi. Katarina freaks out because Pochi has been seen by someone. She comes out of the brushwood and apologizes to the man for her dog startling him.
The young man appears to be the same person that she was thinking of just now: the blond-haired and obsidian-black-eyed man from last time. The young man coldly tells her that it is a restricted area. Katarina explains that she has come here after her pet has run away. Katarina hurriedly retrieves Pochi, who seems displeased. The young man coldly replies it is common sense not to let pets run free inside the castle. Katarina agrees and sincerely apologizes. The young man urges her to go away since she has found her pet. He really seems to hate her.
Katarina suddenly remembers she has something to tell him, and stops him from leaving. The young man has a suspicious look. She sincerely thanks him for telling her last time that she was unconsciously hurting people. Thanks to this, she was able to realize the impact of her actions. Katarina has been wanting to thank him the next time she sees him, and she is glad she has been able to convey her thanks. The young man is frozen in shock. Katarina asks him if he is alright. The young man is completely astounded she would express thanks for something like that. He wonders what she has in her head. He mutters to himself that he knew she was weird but he didn't realize to what extent. Katarina doesn't know how to react and looks at the young man. She can tell he is Geordo's relative: he is tall and has a handsome build. While she is fascinated by him, the young man reverts to his cold self and urges her to go away. As the young man is about to leave in the opposite direction, Katarina unconsciously grabs his arm. The young man is shocked. Katarina doesn't understand why she did this, but she pretends that she wants him to guide her out since she might get lost. The young man shakes her hand off and for some reason dusts off the leaves on her head. The leaves probably come from when she went through the brushwood. After he has finished, the young man leaves for good this time. Katarina thanks him for removing the leaves from her head but he doesn't reply. Pochi is sad while watching the young man leave, so Katarina wonders if Pochi expressly runs here to see him. But she doesn't get an answer from Pochi. Katarina is confused about the young man: on one hand, he seems to hate her, on the other hand, he has removed the leaves from her head. Maybe she will ask Geordo and Alan about him.

Hamefura LN7 Extra Story Outline
Tumblr media
This is an outline of the extra story given with the special edition of volume 7 of the light novel. It is an hilarious version of Snow White XD!
The cast:
Snow White: Maria
The King: Geordo
The Queen (Stepmother): Katarina
The Mirror: Raphael
The Queen’s attendant: Mary
The Hunter: Keith
The Dwarves: Sophia, Nicol, Alan, Sora, Larna, Laura and Nathan
The Prince: Cyrus
The Prince’s Attendant: Dewey
I am writing this outline as I read, so I am skipping the details. The dialogues are not translation but a summary of what was said. Also, I haven’t finished reading the story yet, so I will edit this post later. I just wanted to post it as soon as possible, even if incomplete, since it was hilarious.
I have completed the outline of the extra story which somehiow became some kind of summary along the way!
--------------------------------------------------------------
Katarina is suddenly transported to another world.
A voice from above tells Katarina that everyone has been transported in this world, and that they were each assigned a role from the Snow White Story. They must play it out to return to their world. The voice has already explained everything to everyone.
Katarina is transported in her bedroom and she sees Magic Mirror Raphael.
Katarina: Mirror, Mirror, who is the most beautiful in the world?.
Raphael: Ah sorry, I am busy with work at the moment. Give me 5 minutes.
Katarina: Okay, take your time, I’ll eat some cookies in the meanwhile.
...5 minutes later.
Raphael: Okay, I am finished. What did you want to ask me?’
Katarina: Mirror, mirror, who is the most beautiful in the world?
Raphael: Princess Snow White
Katarina: Yeah, I totally agree~~~ ! Maria is so charming!
Raphael: Lady Katarina, you got your lines wrong...
Katarina: Oops, that’s right........................ What?! I thought I was the most beautiful in the world! I can’t forgive Snow White for being more beautiful than me!
Snow White Maria knocks on the door.
Maria: Your Majesty, I have baked some cookies for you!
Katarina: Oh, Snow White, come in!
Katarina eats Maria’s cookies and they are having tea together. Katarina notices that Maria’s cookies are a new kind and finds them delicious. Maria created these new cookies for her. They are having a wonderful time together.
King Geordo storms in the room.
Geordo: Maria Campbell. You are supposed to be my Queen’s rival, are you not? What do you think you’re doing enjoying yourself with her? Please get out of the castle already, you are in the way of my Queen and I flirting together.
Raphael: And the Queen needs to ask for Snow White to be killed in the forest else we can’t advance the story.
Queen Katarina sadly calls the hunter. Hunter Keith makes his entrance.
Katarina (in the verge of tears): Please take Snow White to the forest and ensure that she safely reaches the dwarves’ home.
Keith: *sigh* Big Sister, you got your lines wrong...
Katarina: But even as a lie, I can’t bring myself to ask for my adorable Maria to be killed!
Keith: I understand, your Majesty. I will take Snow White to the forest, kill her and bring her liver back as proof.
Katarina: Eeeek! Keith! How can you say something so terrifying! I don’t remember raising you like that!
Raphael: Please calm down, Lady Katarina... Your Majesty. These are just Lord Keith’s lines. He will actually help Snow White out and bring back a wild boar’s liver.
Katarina: Ah that’s right. And then I will eat the liver. I wonder what it tastes like.
Keith reminds Katarina and Maria that they need to advance the story. He holds his hand out towards Maria and invites her to go to the forest with him. Doing so, he looks like he is escorting her. Katarina excitedly watches the scene.
Keith: Well then, Your Majesty, I will take Princess Snow White with me to the forest.
Geordo (looking happy): Sure, please take your time~~~ You can sleep out as many nights as you like~~ In the meanwhile, I will thoroughly take care of my Queen~~~ We are married after all.
Keith glares at Geordo .
Keith: I thought it would be difficult for you to look after the Queen alone, so I took the initiative of calling someone for help.
Keith: Come here, Queen’s attendant.
Hunter Keith has summoned Mary Hunt.
Mary: I am Mary, the Queen’s attendant. I take care of the Queen’s EVERY need so please go back to your official business, Your Majesty.
Geordo: I am the Queen’s husband, so I should be the one taking care of her. Besides, I have already finished all of my work, so there should be no problem. Go sweep the castle or something.
Mary: There still is some remaining business you need to attend to, Your Majesty. Some ladies from the neighborhood wish to have an audience with you, and they are all waiting.
Geordo: An audience? I haven’t heard anything about it.
Mary: Well it has been decided at the last minute. Gentlemen, please take our King to these ladies, will you? They are eagerly waiting for him after all.
After Mary said this, several people with black masks took Geordo away.
Geordo: BUT WE WERE FINALLY MARRIIIIIIIIIIED!!!!
Hunter Keith and Snow White Maria have left, only Queen Katarina, Attendant Mary and Magic Mirror Raphael remain in the room. Mary suggests that Katarina and her take the tea together. When Raphael asks whether he can join them, Mary glares at him.
Hunter Keith and Snow White Maria walk in the forest, then Hunter Keith asks Snow White Maria to run straight ahead to the dwarves’ home. Maria thanks Keith and asks him to give Katarina the cookies on the table of her room. After she leaves, Keith lets out a sigh since Maria, like Katarina, doesn’t seem serious with following the scenario. Keith discreetly watches over Maria up until she enters the dwarves’ home. Then he hunts a wild board and brings back its liver to Queen Katarina. Queen Katarina gives it to the cook and eats it.
After entering the dwarves' home, Snow White Maria sees 7 chairs at the table and 7 beds lined up, but there is no one inside. She falls asleep on one of the beds. The dwarves come back.
Sophia: Oh? There seems to be someone sleeping on our beds.
Nicol: So it seems.
Sophia: Big Brother! Please act like a dwarf! You’re just like usual.
Nicol: Then what is a dwarf like?
Sophia: Well, you know, like a dwarf!
The two seem to be absorbed in their discussion. Sora stops them.
Sora: It’s enough you guys, let’s advance the story.
Sora: I wonder who is sleeping in our beds.
Snow White Maria wakes up and sees everyone in their dwarves’ forms.
Maria: Oh? Even though you’ve become dwarves, your heights didn’t change, huh?
Maria digressed from the scenario again
Sora: Ah, yes. But we have matching clothes.
Maria, Sophia, Nicol and Sora are all talking about how the dwarves’ costumes are cute and convenient.
Maria: Ah but, there should be 7 dwarves. Is there only the 3 of you?
Sophia: The 3 of us?
Sophia goes to the room next door and comes back dragging Alan. Alan is red from embarrassment.
Maria: Oh, Prince Alan, you are also a dwarf.
Alan: I hate it! I hate being a dwarf! Why must I wear this ridiculous costume! Wearing this hat will give me a lifetime of embarrassment!
Sophia: Oh, come on, Prince Alan! The dwarf’s costume is cute and it looks good on you.
Alan keeps shaking his head.
Nicol: I think it is a fine costume. It might come into fashion in high society.
Nicol said it with a straight face.
Alan: ...........Do you think so?
Sora: Yeah, no, I don’t think so...
Sora: Umm, Prince Alan, I understand that you hate being a dwarf, but we can’t advance the story like this. Please endure it for now.
Dwarf Sora, Dwarf Sophia, Dwarf Nicol and Dwarf Alan properly introduce themselves as dwarves. Maria wonders why there are only the 4 of them since  they are supposed to be 7. Sora explains that Larna went out to investigate things in the forest, Nathan also went out and got lost, and Laura is currently searching for him. The 3 of them haven’t come back yet and since the forest is wide, they probably won’t by the end of the story. So they should advance the story without them. Snow White Maria also introduces herself. Dwarf Sora asks her why she came to the forest. Snow White Maria tells him what happened with the hunter.
Sora: That’s terrible. If you like, please live with us.
Maria: Is that alright?
Nicol: Yes, it won’t be a problem. Please stay here as long as you like.
Sophia: Of course, Snow White. If you don’t stay with us, then Lady Katarina... I mean the Queen won’t come into the forest. I can’t stand the thought of the King and the Hunter having the Queen to themselves.
Sophia said something outside of the scenario.
Alan: What?! She will come here?! Then she will see me in this outfit!
Alan is white as a sheet.
Sora: It will be fine, Prince Alan. Lady Katarina likes cute things after all.
Maria: Oh, that’s right, Lady Katarina will come later. I must bake some sweets.
And then, Snow White came to live with the dwarves.
------------------  Part 2 ------------------------
Certain that Snow White is dead, Queen Katarina asks her magic mirror again who is the most beautiful in the world. But Magic Mirror Raphael answers that it still is Snow White, who now lives with the dwarves in the forest.
Following this, Katarina guesses that it is time for her to head to the forest. She remembers that she has to prepare some poisoned apples. Raphael reminds her that the Queen only uses the poisoned apples on the last time she goes to the forest. The first time, she tries to kill Snow White using a belt. Katarina is surprised that she must head to the forest several times, unlike the story she is familiar with. Raphael suggests that she checks the scenario.
Magic Mirror Raphael also summons Hunter Keith to guide Queen Katarina in the forest. Katarina is surprised that the Queen doesn't go to the forest alone. Keith explains that based on the scenario he isn't supposed to, but if they let her go alone, she won't reach the dwarves' home. Besides, she may decide to ignore the scenario and go wild, so he prefers to tag along. Katarina wants to tell him that it won't happen but it is true that she didn't bother checking the scenario since it was a well-known story. So she complies and lets Keith tag along. Queen Katarina and Hunter Keith are now heading to the dwarves’ home.
Once they arrive, Katarina is surprised that their house is normal sized. The dwarves are not home since Katarina must come when they are out. She is really disappointed that she won’t see everyone in their dwarf form. Katarina is digressing from the scenario again and Keith scolds her.
For now, they must follow the scenario. Queen Katarina must go sell a belt to Snow White Maria, tightly pull it around her waist and make her faint. Katarina says that it is too cruel and that she can't do that to Maria. Keith tells her that she and Maria only need to make it look like it is happening. Then he presses Katarina to start the scene.
Queen Katarina knocks on the door of the dwarves’ home and introduces herself as an old woman selling belts. Snow White Maria, who isn't aware that she is Queen Katarina,  asks for one. But when Snow White Maria opens the door, Katarina recognizes the smell of Maria's muffins and gets excited over them. She has completely blown her cover. Maria invites her to eat them since she has baked them for her. Queen Katarina and Snow White Maria end up having tea together in the dwarves' home.
Keith storms in the dwarves' home.
Katarina: Oh, Keith? What's up?
Keith: "What's up?" Are you kidding me?! You didn't come back no matter how much time passed, so I got worried and came in, and what do I see? Why is the Queen and Snow White having tea together?! The Queen has come to kill Snow White for crying out loud! You can't have tea together! And you too, Snow White! You can't give sweets to the Queen! Both of you, can you please follow the scenario?!
As Keith furiously said this , Katarina and Maria feel sorry  and begrudgingly plays the scene: Queen Katarina ties the belt around Snow White Maria's waist and she collapses like that.
Katarina: Well then, I must go but I'll come again! Thank you for the treats.
Maria: Please, I am sorry I couldn't welcome you better.
Keith: Your Majesty, you shouldn't tell her that you will come back, and Snow White please don't welcome her next time!
Queen Katarina and Hunter Keith return to the castle.
Once they return home, the dwarves see the fainted Maria with a tightened belt around her waist. Maria's acting is so realistic that Dwarf Alan is in panic, but thankfully, Dwarf Sora keeps his cool and, as written in the scenario,  cuts the belt out. Sophia regrets that they were out when Katarina came over. Nicol agrees. Hearing him, Alan notes that Nicol is a nice big brother, unlike "someone". Catching on the mood, Sora takes Nicol aside and asks him if Sophia is aware that she won't be able to see Katarina since she is supposed to come whenever they are out. Nicol says that she hasn't realized yet and that he can't bring himself to tell her. Sora thinks Nicol has it hard as a big brother.
Nicol (whispering in Sora's ear): Still, if necessary, I will change the scenario a bit to let Sophia see her.
Sora pretends that he didn't hear anything.
In the castle, certain that she has killed Snow White Maria this time, Queen Katarina asks her magic mirror again who is the most beautiful in the world. Magic Mirror Raphael replies that it is still Snow White Maria. Queen Katarina gets furious.
Katarina: OK, done. Now I'll eat Maria's cookies and lazy around. And then I'll make preparations for my next outing in the forest.
Raphael: No, first, you make preparations and then you'll rest. Your breaks tend to be very long.
Katarina: Whaaaat? But I will just disguise myself as an old woman again and bring something. The preparations will be over in no time. By the way, what will it be next time? Can I go with the poisoned apples?
Raphael: No, next time will be a comb. You will try to kill Snow White using a comb.
Katarina: A comb? How can you even kill someone with that? Oh, well, if it's a comb, I'll just need to ask a maid to bring me one, it will be quick.
Raphael: No, it won't be a normal comb, but a comb cursed with black magic. You will try to kill her by putting a deadly curse on her with the comb.
Katarina: Eh? A cursed comb? Scary... What the heck that? Where can I find one?
Raphael: It's a shame but I don't know either. The scenario only mentions that the Queen prepared one.
Katarina: Eeeeeh?! I have to prepare it?! I don't know where to find one! It's not like I can find a shop in the neighborhood which sells some!
Queen Katarina is troubled, so her attendant Mary knocks on the door.
Mary: Your Majesty, may I help you if there is something troubling you?
Katarina: Thank you Mary, but even if I ask you, I don't think you'll know. Do you know something about a comb cursed with black magic?
Mary: Yes, I know.
Katarina: Yeah, I guess you wouldn't kn... Wait, you know?!
Katarina gets up from her chair at once and opens the door wide. Mary is standing there, smiling.
Katarina: Mary, if I heard you correctly, you said you know something about a comb cursed with black magic?!
Mary: Yes, I know.
Katarina: And by any chance, do you also know where I can find it?
Mary: Yes, I have one.
Katarina: Ah, I see... So you have one. Wait, you have one?! Why?!
Mary: To be honest, I have been into collecting this kind of goods lately.
Katarina: Eh? When you say “this kind of goods”, do you mean “cursed goods”?! How can you get into this?! If you have to collect something, then collect some lovely items!
After Queen Katarina passionately says this, Attendant Mary puts her hand over her cheek with a troubled expression.
Mary: Well, no matter how much work I send his way, how busy I keep him or how many traps I set, there is this mouse who won't learn his lesson and keep trying to break into your room. So I have started collecting these items so that I can use them to eliminate him.
Katarina: Oh, so that's why! There is a mouse in my room! This is indeed troublesome. It would be terrible if it ate my stock of food. So you have been collecting them for me! Thank you Mary!
Mary: Oh, please, I am your attendant so this is only natural.
Mary is smiling, but after listening to her, Magic Mirror Raphael is sweating cold sweat.
Raphael (whispering to himself): And I was wondering why I didn't see him ever since the start of the story. So this is what she put the King through...
And then, Queen Katarina safely obtained a cursed comb.
Mary: If you put this on a person's head, then they will get cursed and temporarily lose consciousness. But if it is removed, they will wake up. If you don't leave it for days, then it won't cause any harm. I can't use it to eliminate the mouse, but this is the perfect tool for the scenario.
Several days later, Queen Katarina took the cursed comb that she got from her attendant Mary and headed (with Hunter Keith) to the dwarves' home in the forest, where Snow White Maria lived.
------------------ Part 3 ------------------------
On the way, Keith is making Katarina repeat several times what she can and can't do, to make sure everything will go well.
Keith: Repeat it again.
Katarina: I am going to the dwarves' home to kill Snow White. I am not going there to play. So I won't go in and have tea nor sweets. Once I put the comb on her head, I will go back right away. I won't make any detour.
Keith: Good. So please follow the scenario this time, OK?
Katarina: Yes, I'll play it perfectly this time. I think I am getting used to this malicious evil queen role. Please leave it to me.
Keith: Now I am getting worried...
They reach the dwarves' home.
Katarina (disguised): Hello, I am an old peddlar lady. Young Lady, would you like a cursed comb?
If he had been with her, Hunter Keith would have retorted : "Wait! You said *cursed* comb! You can't let her know that it is cursed!",  but unfortunately he wasn’t.
Maria: Oh, hello Lady Katarina... I mean, Old Lady.
Despite her disguise being exactly the same as before, she pretended she didn't recognize her.
Katarina: Hello, Young Lady. The item of the day is this cursed comb. Come on, try it.
The Queen disguised as an old woman (but Snow White already knew it was her) recommended her the cursed comb.
Maria: A cursed comb? How scary. What will happen once I put it on?
Since she knew the other person, Snow White Maria casually asked her this question.
Katarina: Ah, well you see, once you put this comb on, you will lose consciousness and collapse, but if it is removed right away, then you won't suffer any damage. This cursed comb really is safe. Since it is part of the scenario, I would like you to put it on.
The Queen honestly explained everything to her. If the hunter had been there, he would have probably made retorts.
Maria: I see. If this is part of the scenario, then it can't be helped. So please put it on my head Lady Katarina... I mean Old Lady.
Katarina: No. Even though you will instantly wake up when the dwarves get home, you might get hurt if you faint in the entrance hall. And if the dwarves are late, you might get cold and get sick. I’d rather you faint in a bed.
Maria: But if I faint in a bed, they might think that I am just sleeping and they may not wake me up.
Katarina: Yeah, you have a point. But I still think it would be dangerous for you to faint in the entrance hall...
The two of them were deeply pondering what to do. Keith arrives.
Keith: Geez, I told you to come back right away, didn't I? Even after I said this much, what are you doing here?
Katarina: Ah, perfect timing, Keith... no I mean Mr. Hunter. Can you give us your opinion on something?
Katarina tells Keith about their problem.
Keith: ...So you have been pondering whether to have her faint in the entrance hall or in a bed?
After listening to the story, Hunter Keith felt a slight headache and held his head in his hands.
Keith: Like Snow White said, if she faints comfortably set up in a bed then people will think that she is sleeping. She won't fulfill her role! And if things don't go well, she will stay like this with the comb on her head without being woken up! On the other hand, if she faints in the entrance hall, then people will find her right away! Having her faint in the entrance hall is good! Let's go with having her faint in the entrance hall!
Katarina: But she might hit her head the moment she faints...
Keith: Then we won’t let her fall over. I’ll catch her.
Katarina: And she may catch a cold...
Keith: The weather is quite warm so it should be fine. But if you're that worried about it, then let's put a light sheet over her.
Like this, Keith found a solution for each of Katarina's worries. They somehow decided to follow the scenario and have Snow White Maria faint in the entrance hall.
Katarina: OK, I'll put it on you now.
Maria: Yes, please.
Katarina: Here!
When Queen Katarina put the comb on Snow White Maria's head, she lost consciousness right away. Hunter Keith caught her, softly lied her down in the entrance hall, and then put a cloth over her.
Keith: Now we only need to wait for the dwarves to come home. Let's return to the castle Your Majesty.
Katarina: Hey, if she sleeps in a hard place like this, won't her body hurt when she wakes up?
After she said this, Keith held his head in his hands once again.
The dwarves come home and find Snow White Maria in the entrance. They are shocked and completely confused by the situation. Dwarf Nicol tries to calmly analyze the situation: Snow White Maria is lying on cushions lined up on the floor of the entrance hall. There is a cushion under her head and a sheet covering her body. From the look of it, she seems to be sleeping on the entrance hall’s floor. But why in the world would she sleep there? If she was sleepy, why didn't she sleep in her bed? Why did she take cushions? As Dwarf Nicol is pondering these, he notices a note put on the side of the face of the sleeping Snow White Maria. Everything is clear after reading the note. He shows it to everyone.
"Princess Snow White is unconscious because I put a cursed comb on her head. Once you are home, please remove it. She will wake up right after. There won't be any side effects so please be at ease. We caught her when she lost consciousness so she didn't hit her head. We borrowed and spread some cushions so that her body won't hurt from sleeping on the floor. Things should be fine but if there is any side effect or any problem, please contact the Queen at the castle."
Sophia: This writing... and this contact address...
Realizing something, Dwarf Sophia opened her mouth but Dwarf Nicol quietly shook his head.
The dwarves removed the cursed comb and Snow White Maria woke up. There was not any side effect.
At the castle, certain that Snow White was dead this time, The Queen asks her magic mirror who is the most beautiful in the world. The magic mirror replies again that it is Snow White. Hearing this the Queen gets extremely furious and decides to use poisoned apples this time.
Katarina is happy that she will finally use the poisoned apples, which means it will be her last attempt at killing Snow White. She is motivated to head to the dwarves' home right now with poisoned apples. Though, she wonders if she should prepare a glass coffin and leave it at the dwarves' home beforehand. Raphael says that it is the dwarves who should prepare the glass coffin, not her. But  Katarina wonders if the dwarves can afford buying a glass coffin since they don't seem rich. Raphael agrees with her, so he decides to confirm with headquarters who should prepare the glass coffin. Katarina is surprised to hear that there are headquarters and probably subdivisions. Raphael explains that he is in charge of the Snow White's stepmother's room subdivision. Then he asks her to wait a little while while he confirms things with headquarters. Katarina eats some sweets in the meanwhile. After a little while, Raphael tells Katarina the answer he got: the glass coffin is prepared at the dwarves's cabin and they don't need to worry about it.
------------------------- Part 4 --------------------------
Queen Katarina feels reassured that she can head right away to the dwarves’ place with poisoned apples. She calls her attendant. Mary answers right away.
Katarina: Mary, I have something to ask you.
Mary: Sure Your Majesty, what is it?
Since Attendant Mary has appeared instantly, Magic Mirror Raphael suspects that she is staying in front of the door at all times. But it doesn’t seem to bother the Queen.
Katarina: I will need some poisoned apples. Like that cursed comb from before, do you have some safe-to-use poisoned apples that would make someone faint when they eat them, while enabling people to wake them up?
Raphael: There is no way such a convenient thing exists...
Mary: Yes, I have some.
Raphael: You have?! / Katarina: Yaaaay~~ As expected of Mary!
Attendant Mary is only interested in Queen Katarina, so she ignores Magic mirror’s Raphael’s shocked reaction.
Mary: If someone eats the apple, it will get stuck in their throat and they will faint. But if someone raises their body afterwards and taps their back to expel the apple piece from their throat, then they will wake up right away. And like before, there won't be any side effects.
Katarina: I see~~ So it will be all good if someone raises her body and taps her back. I must write it on the next note. I thought she was supposed to be woken up by a prince’s kiss though...?
Mary (confused): Woken up by a prince's kiss? What fairytale is this?
Katarina: Well, we’re talking about the Snow White story, right? Isn't she supposed to be woken up by a prince's kiss?
Mary: No, I have never heard such thing.
Katarina: Hmmm... Then I guess some things differ...
Attendant Mary is about to get out of the room to prepare the poisoned apples, but she is stopped by Magic Mirror Raphael.
Raphael: In the scenario, the Queen is supposed to bite into the apple first to reassure Snow White. So could you reduce the amount of poison to half or something?
Katarina: What?! There is a part like that in the scenario?!
Queen Katarina is shocked because she still hasn't checked the scenario.
Mary: I understand. Then I will inject poison in only half of them.
Attendant Mary leaves.
Raphael (mutter): She really can do anything... She can't possibly be using poison on the King... No, she wouldn't.
Katarina: Should I really bite into the apple before giving it to Snow White? And on top of this I must give her an apple which I have already bitten into?
Raphael: Yes. Snow White keeps getting herself in dangerous situations, so the dwarves ask her to be careful. The apples that the old peddlar lady showed her looked delicous but she couldn’t eat them just like that. So the old lady bit into the apple first to show Snow White that it was safe. This is how it is in the scenario.
Katarina: Yeah I guess it would show that it is safe, but I wouldn't want to eat an apple which was already bitten by an old peddlar lady that I don't know.
Raphael: Yeah, I agree, but this is how it is in the scenario.
Mary comes back with the poisoned apples.
Mary: Here are the apples. The right one contains poison, the left one does not. I have left a little bruise on the poisoned one, so please don't mix them up.
Attendant Mary gives the apples to the Queen.
Katarina: So the right one contains poison, and the left one doesn’t. The poisoned one has a little bruise on it. I got it. Thanks as always, Mary.
Queen Katarina heads to the dwarves' home in the forest (with Hunter Keith).
In the meanwhile, at the dwarves’ home. The dwarves are making preparations before going to work.
Dwarf Sora asks Snow White Maria to be cautious, not to trust people so easily, nor eat or use things that she receives from strangers Snow White Maria cheerfully says she will be careful but she doesn’t seem to have any sense of danger. Sora isn’t reassured but the story won't advance if they don't leave work. Dwarf Sora notifies everyone that they will set off now, but Sophia asks to stay home this time, since Katarina will visit while they are at work. She says this while inflating her cheeks. She seems to have realized that she won't get to see Katarina if she follows the scenario. Sora explains that they all need to go out for the story to progress because the Queen won't come if they stay home. Sora actually thinks Katarina would rather ignore the scenario, but he keeps this thought to himself. Sophia says she really wants Katarina to see their cute costumes, and see Katarina's costume as well. She appeals to Nicol. Nicol can't resist his adorable sister's earnest plea and suggests they all go to work but return early. They will hide behind the brushwood and keeps and eye on Katarina's coming. Sora would rather follow the scenario to the letter, but Sophia is ecstatic over Nicol's suggestion. The dwarves finally decide to do as Nicol suggests. Alan suggests they also change clothes not to be found out too easily, but Sophia rejects it.
The dwarves all leave for work and only Snow White Maria remains in the house. Before long, she hears the familiar voice of the old peddlar lady.
Katarina: Hello, I am an humble old lady selling apples. Young Lady, would you like some?
When Snow White Maria opens the door, Queen Katarina is standing there, disguised as an old lady like always.
Maria: Hello old lady. So today you are selling apples?
Katarina: Yes, I am. They are delicious. How about one?
Hunter Keith has been coaching her, so Queen Katarina makes smooth replies. She has memorized various possible lines because of her previous failures.
Katarina: They are bright red, sweet and delicious.
Queen Katarina takes a poisoned apple from her basket and holds it towards Snow White Maria. Snow White Maria takes the apple.
Maria: Oh my, this apple looks delicious.
As Snow White Maria is about to bite into the apple, Queen Katarina panics.
Katarina: Hey, wait! Isn't Snow White supposed to be cautious and not bite into the apple first?!
Queen Katarina grabs the apple without thinking. Snow White Maria remembers the dwarves’ words of caution.
Maria: Ah, that's right! They asked me to be careful but I completely forgot about it.
Queen Katarina frowns.
Katarina: The world is dangerous nowadays so you must remain careful. It is unreasonable to eat an apple from someone who suddenly shows up at your door. Especially since you are cute, bad people are likely to approach you. Once something happens it is too late, so you should really be careful.
Maria: Yes, I will.
Seeing that Snow White Maria has reflected on it, Queen Katarina nods.
Katarina: In times like this, you should have the other person taste for poison. If they are fine after eating it, then you can eat it too.
Queen Katarina takes the apple back from Snow White Maria's hand.
Katarina: Well then, I'll eat it first. Ummm... If I remember correctly, the one without poison was... Huh?...Umm... Ah, the right one!
Because of the unexpected events, Queen Katarina has forgotten which apple is poisoned. She ends up taking a big bite of the poisoned one.
Katarina: *chomp*
Queen Katarina falls down after eating the poisoned apple.
Maria: La-Lady Katarina!
Snow White Maria's scream resounds in the area.
Keith: Wait, why is it the Queen who fainted? Could it be that she has eaten the poisoned one?!
Hunter Keith who has been watching the situation from nearby jumps out in panic.
Sophia: Why did Lady Katarina collapse? What happened?!
Back early, Dwarf Sophia also jumps out from behind the brushwoods. Dwarf Nicol, Sora and Alan also comes out.
Keith: Eh? Why are the dwarves here? They are supposed to be out at the moment!
Nicol: We have our reasons, but more importantly, what is the situation here?
Hearing Dwarf Nicol's calm reply, Hunter Keith decides to ignore the dwarves' issue for the moment.
Keith: I was also watching from nearby but I don't know the exact circumstances. I guess she ate the poisoned apple. Is that it, Princess Snow White?
Hunter Keith asks Snow White Maria since she probably knows the exact circumstances. She is shaken from witnessing Queen Katarina suddenly falling down in front of her eyes, but she is still able to answer.
Maria: I was about to eat the apple that she gave me, but then Lady Katarina told me that it was too dangerous and that she would poison taste it for me first...
Keith: So she really mixed them up and ate the poisoned one.
Hunter Keith makes a deep sigh.
Sophia: So Lady Katarina ate the poisoned apple. Will she be alright?
Dwarf Sophia has tearful eyes. Snow White Maria is already crying while covering her face.
Maria: Because of me, Lady Katarina...
Keith: No it will be fine. Even if it is a poisoned apple, she will wake up once we expel the apple from her mouth. There is no problem. You don't need to feel responsible for anything, she is paying for her own mistake.
Hunter Keith comforts Dwarf Sophia and Snow White Maria.
Nicol: You said we need to expel the poison but how can we do it? Should we make her vomit?
Keith: The apple is supposed to be stuck in her throat, so we need to tap her back to expel the apple piece.
Alan: Seriously, what's with these? There already was that suspicious comb the other day. Who the hell gives you these stuff?
Keith: Ah, well... There is this efficient attendant at the castle. She has been collecting a lots of these goods.
Alan: Is that so? She must be pretty weird to collect all these dubious things.
Keith: Yeah... Anyway, we must tap her back and expel the apple from her throat.
Sora: Well then, I'll raise her body so that she can expel it more easily.
Dwarf Sora extends his hand, but Hunter Keith blocks it right away.
Keith: No, I can't let an unrelated person hold the Queen. I will do it.
Maria: No it is because of me that Lady Katarina ingested the poison so I will do it.
Sophia: In that case, Big Brother will do it.
Everyone starts quarelling.
Maria: It should be me!
Keith: No, me!
Sophia: No, Big Brother!
Alan: Anyone will do, dammit!
Everyone suddenly see the apple piece flying away after getting expelled from Queen Katarina’s throat.
Katarina: Aaaah, I thought I would die!
Everyone turns their heads towards Queen Katarina who has woken up. She is held by Dwarf Sora.
All: Eeeeeeh?!
Everyone yells at Dwarf Sora.
Sora: Well, I am just holding her... You guys have pretty faces that would make dozens of women fall for you but you have no experience with women.
His words secretly gave a blow to Hunter Keith’s heart.
Katarina: Aaaah~ It seems like I mixed the apples up and ate the poisoned one~ Thank you for saving me!
The now-resuscitated Queen Katarina stands up from the inside of Dwarf Sora’s arms. Dwarf Sora is giving her a hand. Looking at them, Hunter Keith thinks “as expected of him” in his heart. Dwarf Sophia and Snow White Maria comes towards Queen Katarina.
Sophia: I am so glad that you are alright.
Maria: Thank goodness you woke up. When I saw you collapse right before my eyes, I really didn't know what to do.
Katarina (smile): I am sorry for worrying you.
Katarina: Come to think of it, based on the story, I thought I wouldn't be able to see you, but it seems like we could. Your dwarf costume looks cute, Sophia.
Dwarf Sophia looks incredibly happy and giggles.
Sophia: Big Brother looks cute too.
Dwarf Sophia pulls Dwarf Nicol.
Katarina (shocked): It looks good on you but how come you look so alluring in a dwarf’s costume?!
Nicol: Oh, really? Thank you.
Katarina: Ah but Alan and Sora also look good in their dwarf's costumes. I guess good-looking people look good no matter what they wear.
Queen Katarina spots Dwarf Alan despite his efforts not to be seen. He has been highly displeased about his costume, but....
Alan: Is-Is that so~~?
Dwarf Alan doesn’t look displeased at all. Dwarf Sora is speechless.
Katarina: Ah, but wasn't there 7 dwarves? Why is there only 4 of you?
Dwarf Sora explains the reason to Queen Katarina and Hunter Keith like he did to Snow White Maria days before. Katarina thinks it makes sense since Larna would follow whatever piques her interest and Nathan would get lost the moment people take their eyes off him.
Katarina's stomach grumbles, so Maria invites Katarina to eat the cake she baked. She also invites everyone else to join them. As a result, everyone has tea at the dwarves's home, while feeling like they are forgetting something important.
In the meanwhile, Prince Cyrus and his attendant Dewey are walking around the forest while searching for a glass coffin. They can’t find it, so they guess that something unexpected must have happened. Attendant Dewey splits with Prince Cyrus to check on the dwarves' home. Prince Cyrus is waiting alone in the middle of the forest.
Prince Cyrus feels nervous over having to ask Snow White Maria to marry him for the sake of the scenario. He hasn't been able to sleep ever since he got the role’ of the prince. And now that this day has come, the princess isn't where she is supposed to be. Actually, there is no one here.
Then he suddenly hears some rustling and sees a familiar face: Guy Anderson / Laura. He seems to have been lost for days in the forest and his clothes looks worn out. Looking at him, Prince Cyrus wonders if something happened to Snow White Maria. But Dwarf Laura replies that it isn't related because he hasn't met her yet. Prince Cyrus is confused. Dwarf Laura explains that he has been searching for Nathan ever since the start of the story and never returned home. He eventually found him, but now he can’t remember the way back. So after tying a rope around Nathan, they have been walking around the forest searching for the way back all this time. Prince Cyrus feels sorry for Dwarf Laura. He takes a look at the rope that Dwarf Laura is holding but Nathan is not at the end. The rope has been cut. Prince Cyrus awkwardly tells Dwarf Laura that Dwarf Nathan has gotten away. Dwarf Laura loses consciousness over the shock. Prince Cyrus holds him in panic and speaks to him, but he won't wake up. He is at a loss over what to do and wishes for his attendant to come back quick.
In the meanwhile, Attendant Dewey is on his way to check on the dwarves' home. He sees Dwarf Nathan. As he knows about his terrible sense of direction, he chases after him thinking he might be lost. He catches up to him and gets confirmation that he was right on. Dwarf Nathan thanks him for chasing after him and asks him for directions. But Attendant Dewey realizes that he has gotten lost too. So they both search for the way back together.
In the meanwhile in the castle, King Geordo has broken through the many traps set by Attendant Mary, and has finally reached the Queen's room.
Geordo: Now, my Queen, let's deepen our marriage!
But when he opens the door, the room is completely empty.
Geordo: Eh? Why is she not here?
Based on the scenario, the Queen is supposed to come back right after making Snow White eat the poisoned apple.
Geordo: Let's see... Mirror, mirror! Magic Mirror!
King Geordo decides to ask Magic Mirror Raphael, so he calls him. However, he doesn’t get any answer. When he looks closely, there is a paper stuck in the mirror: "I am currently absent. Please reiterate your request on another time.".
Geordo: ...
King Geordo freezes up and makes a very deep sigh.
Geordo: Even though we were assigned the role of a married couple, I couldn't even hold her hand...
King Geordo's sad muttering resounds in the completely empty room.
In the meanwhile, Queen Katarina is happily enjoying Snow White Maria' sweets.
And like this, Snow White, the Queen and the others lived happily ever after.
Katarina hears a chime and wakes up in Claes Manor, on the couch of her room. It seems like she has dozed off while eating sweets. "What a weird dream". Then Katarina resumes eating her sweets.
