The Laniqua (aka Deep Ones or Gillies) are a highly varied people.
With their biological immortality and indeterminate growth they come in a wide range of sizes, from near human to truly titanic. Growth is reliant on available food so the vast majority are on the smaller side with only those commanding a vastly disproportionate claim on resources grow to size of Laniqua lords like Hydra, Dagon or Zoth-Ommog. Particularly small Laniqua are a result of a developmental condition and not a lack of food and water, despite what is written in the Cultes des Goules.
Much more striking and common than those achieving giant sizes are the metamorphic or "Elder" Laniqua. With the genetic legacy of Yug parasitism, Laniqua often become a baffling blend of sea life as they age. They combine the features of fish, amphibians, marine reptiles, cetaceans, even arthropods and echinoderms. Pureblooded Laniqua tend to enter this change faster and more deeply than hybrids. Many hybrids never undergo metamorphosis at all beyond their initial call to the sea. Elder Laniqua are usually so divergent genetically that they can no longer reproduce with mammalian hybrid strains like the Chyrlid or Lua'huan.
Some Laniqua use flesh-sculpting magics to guide their transformations, creating novel forms for themselves that would not otherwise occur "naturally".

In this video tutorial, Laniqua & Kani show you how to turn those old jeans and a pair of slides into cute sandals.  You’ll never have to worry if someone is wearing the same shoes as you are – yours are completely unique.
