LAITO APPRECIATION WEEK 2022 DAY 1

Five Thing's I Like About Laito:

As it is the thing that made me fall in love with him first, I would say his humor. Even when I hated his guts, he always made me laugh. Opening up with calling Yui "Bitch-Chan" took me by suspired and all I could do was laugh, like who does that?(He was my fav from that moment, until he fucked it up). Adding to this, his dub is like the cherry on top. His just fucking sarcastic I love it.

His complex personality. The fact that you can look so deep into his personality is such a cool and interesting thing, and such good writing. Saying this as well, the unknowing if you looking too deep into his words, and he means what he says is such a ride that I haven't had with another character before.

How scary he is. Now, that might sounds weird to say but, the switch of character he does he just so cool and gives me the chills every time. Adding to this, it hits you with reality and gives you peep into his true self in a way. This dude is far from happy go lucky and his dark undertones really come to light in that split moment his voice drops.

How smart this bitch is. I like smart men, what can I say? But I was- I wouldn't say surprised, it made sense he was smart, I was more like "Oh? So he is smart". He is two steps ahead of you and I love it, not so much when he is messing with my head but I still am impressed either way lol. His smartness came to light to me when I got into the CD's and it was like a light blub moment(pun not intended) to understanding him more.

His little drops of kindness. I know I just said how scary and how much of a manipulator he is, but hear me out. There are times in the games, CD's that make me go "Wow, he isn't all that bad". He remembered Yui's birthday, there is this time in Shuu's Dark Fate route he helps Yui destress by getting her mind off what's going on, by bring up how Shuu was as a kid. He looked after his brothers when they was younger. He was so selfless, not wanting to bring them into the mess that he hurt himself. Laito gives off such big brother energy that not a lot of people talk about. Look how he was towards Kanato in the Young Blood manga, always looking out for him.

LAITO APPRECIATION WEEK (May 15th-May 21st) 2022 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Hi guys!! Another year, another week dedicated to Laito!!

If you don’t know me, I’m Corn! I’m typically known for my Laito analyses in the fandom, but last year I hosted a Laito appreciation week! So I’m gonna make this a yearly thing :)

Yes, I know Laito’s birthday is in March, but I’m a full time college student with a part time job so its really hard for me to be consistent during the semester. But I’m free from this semester as of last week, and ironically it’s around the second year anniversary of this blog (May 16th)! I’ll be hitting the 1000 follower milestone (holy shit wtf) this summer so what better way to give back to this community more and celebrate than to host another appreciation week?? 

This year, I am co-hosting with my lovely friend @novampirebrainrot (Deia) who is an absolutely amazing artist, and we became friends last year through the previous Laito appreciation week! So I thought it was fitting :) Send her some love as well, she’s just such a cool person!

ANYWAYS! Laito Appreciation Week will start on Sunday, May 15th, and will end on Saturday, May 22nd. Please feel free to reblog and spread the message! I hope this will be as fun as last year’s! 

To prepare everyone for the themes, I am releasing them right now! Posts can be drawings, creative prose, quotes, your own words, moodboards, etc! Go ham! Have fun! Be creative! (or shitposty! I always love a good meme!)

Day 1

5 things I like about Laito

1. Obviously, his looks.

When you look at his face you realize how playful, maybe carefree he is, yet his eyes look mistrerious. And that's the biggest "magnet" in him, this contrast between his "shalowly-mischievous" personality and the gaze which talks to you: " I know. I know everything you don't."

Like...

Attractive mystery.

And obviously the design itself is great (I mean, all characters design in DL games, not the anime hahaha, are great. )

2. The personality conflict.

Do I really need to explain how fascinating it is to watch  Laito struggles with his own self? But don't think I'm a sadist I genuinely feel bad for him, but man, it's so interesting to watch the full way of  character's realizing how far he'd gone with those lies to himself...

It's seems like he's completely lost sometimes?

3. Attitude towards Yui.

Yes, be calls her Bitch-chan, which is annoying but ITS NOT THAT BAD...

The way Yuma, Ruki, Ayato (and sometimes Shu) call her just kills me...

So I really like the way Laito treats her, though it's embarrassing.

  Also I guess he hadn't shared his opinion about Yui's body. I mean, other guys would say that she's looking like a middle schooler, some of them would just say "she's flat" or smth and that's kinda offensive.

I'm not saying Laito is sane and he'd never ever said such to her, but I'm sure it wasn't in such amount as others did...

4. HE IS FUNNY AS F.CK

Whenever he appears (his own routs or his bros routes) he either creates funny situations and give chills, idk.

I can't say who else has the same funky charm...

Anyways, anytime he appears I'm ready to smile uncontrollably

5. His relationship with other characters, not only with his brothers. He's kinda...

Sweet with them? Especially if we're talking about Laito in the big brother role. 

For instance the sub scenario with him in Azusa's route in Vandead Carnival, also attitude Laito has to Kanato or Subaru, he's the type giving advice, and sort of... caring? Idk that's so nice of him...

LAITO APPRECIATION WEEK 2022 DAY 2

For this one I find hard to find. I do have one that comes to mind but like there are sooo many times that made me shook. Wait-

The time I found out what Cordelia did to Laito.

I had watched the anime as a joke first, and didnt pick up the real meaning of the scene with Laito and Cordelia before her dying. I just thought he felt left out because Ayato had all the attention and the "Love" was a mother and son love......how wrong I was. (like come on, it isn't the first thing I think lolol) But after finding out though researching Laito, I was shook asf. That showed me how dark the game/anime was, and peeked my interest more. This wasn't a normal otome game and held something I haven't came across before. The psychological horror aspects are really my cup of tea, and made me realise this otome had much more to offer. And becouse of this, I am in fandom and started my journey of trying to understand Laito.

Day 2

The most shocking/embarrassing moments

Honestly, I assume it's impossible to find only ONE moment in DL universe... I can't really tell when exactly I've stopped screaming from shock/embarrassment in Laitos routes...

It's too common for me, idk. It's not like with Kou or Shuu or other characters I know bearly...

The most emotionally reaction for Laito was... I guess all the nswf moments when they're moaning or whispering in your ears, idk all the "blood sucking" things, but man, it's the main feature of franchise, so...

And ofc all the interactiones with Cordelia, Hilda, Richter and Karlheinz.

Really the most terrible things are connected with Richter and Cordelia, cause... meh they're just disgusting.

  I remember the episode in Laitos HDB route when Richter approached them and Laito was supposed to somewhat hide her saying there was a blood of rats...💀

Laito in HDB is truly terrifying guy.

I'd say all the HDB route is crazy.

LAITO APPRECIATION WEEK 2022 DAY 3

There are two times that come to mind when it comes when I was the most mad at Laito.

The first is in the anime. I didn't know what I was getting myself into. You know the whole scene where his speaking outside? I got SO pissed how he touched her, also in shock for how graphic it was. I thought the anime was just gonna be some cringry love anime with vampires. Like I was out for blood, he went from my fav to wanted nothing to do with him. Hehe I remember how much I hated whenever he was on scene and I would just roast the fuck outta him.

The other time was in Lost Eden. Like I expect more from him because he has developed. I haven't been able to read the whole of Lost Eden(I cant find the full translations) but the whole of Dark made me want to punch his face so much. At around the end of Dark, I was over his shitting attitude and I was just like

"Oh go fuck yourself. Honestly go fuck yourself Laito"

I think honestly that was the most mad I have been. His other shitting stuff, I expect like in HDB and all that but in Lost Eden? I think I was just soo mad because he had developed as a person so much, I had got pissed because he had gone back to his bad ways. I was just disappointed in him.

LAITO APPRECIATION WEEK DAY 5&6

I don't read a lot of fanfiction so I cant do this, so I have grouped days 5 and 6 together, so day 5 isn't just some little post lolol. Also I have been behind in posts, I had a cold so my brain hasn't been working but we back.

For my fav emotional Laito scene, without a doubt it gotta be the Vampire ending of Dark Fate. Bitch, I almost cried. That scene is everything you've waited for in terms of Laitos character, the realness in his voice and words, the forgiveness of his mother, AND him calling his mum "Mother" is just a big thing. I was and AM so proud of him for being so strong. Daisuke Hirakawa is always delivering, he made that scene so much more emotional though his voice acting. Talking about his voice acting. There are two other mini moments that make my heart ache. More Blood Ecstasy 9. His voice sounds so mono-toned and it's as if he is just broken. We hadn't see Laito like this and it was like a wack to the head when I first heard it. The other like mini was in Dark Fate Brute ending. What else do I gotta say? The first half was so hard to watch and that ending was just a stab to the heart with that scream. I had even made fanart for that ending(I dont like it now, there are so many flaws how didnt I see them) because

It is midnight and I have been sleeping pretty much all day(day off school) and almost forgot to post. not me thinking it was still day 3

Day 2

So when I came up with the idea for this theme I had the following dark fate moment in mind:

In Laito's route there's a scene where he makes Yui put those thigh high fishnets only to rip holes in them and suck blood from her leg 💀💀

It's not the worst nsfw moment from the whole franchise combined at all but idk it just surprised me a lot for some reason and I still kinda laugh at myself a lot for being so surprised with it

My cat is trying to eat my food while i wreite this, but its day 7! Head canons!

Ok, I dont have a lot of head canons but thats okie. Some NSFW-7&8

Laito doesn't understand art/artists- In the Zero CD he said a little line of how he doesn't get the mind of an artist. So I just think he just isn't a person who never understood art. Sure he likes how pretty some works and appreciates the skill but the deeper meaning? No. He just can't connect just see's how it is, a painted image. (As a Laito stan and artist, I was hurt)

I feel that Laito is questioning his sexutily, but he has soo many things going in that head of his-plus the time era he was born into, he just says his straight.

Laito could be a stripper. I can see it and it is everything-more than likely gets fired a lot bc he gets too close to the girls

His crosswords puzzles are like a stress reliver. He gets to do what he does best by working that smart brain of his, and he gets to only think about getting the word puzzle done

I can see Laito doing a little bit of make-up on himself. Not like a lot, lot but like little touches on like his eyebrows, lips, eyelids. You don't even think it's make-up, you just think thats how pretty he is.

Wait, he pretty :). I promoise I am not saying that bc I love him(I think Shuu is the prettiest Sakamaki) Wait let me gets some pics, I have a whole Pinterest board on how I think he looks/him in a relationship.

Kinda just like mix these dudes and you have Laito-for me :)

7. We know his a kinky motherfucker. But I feel his just a gentle lover at times, when he wants to express how much he loves you/when he fucks up, I feel he gives real passionate, slow sex. I don't think I need to say this but, that sex good :)

8. I dont think Laito would like to be the sub. He needs to be in control and to be honest, I think it would just trigger him and remind him of his mother. Maybe when he heals more he'll be into more.

Oh man I forget what art I did last year but it was probably Arriku's art. I'm gonna give a different shoutout to @ausd this year because all of her art, especially Laito art just SLAPS. She did some comic versions of his route a while back and it was so intense and did that scene so much justice, definitely achieved what the visual novel medium couldn't. Their art style is out of this world and I adore their interpretation of Laito so much!!!

There's soooo many moments that make me facepalm/I'm angry at Laito but there's no other moment that makes me mad than him teasing Yui the day after he raped her :///// I always choose to slap him in that route because he absolutely deserves it and more.
