A reminder to continue making sure that the brand new accounts asking you for money are legitimate blogs. There are currently scammers who pretend to be Palestinians needing mutual aid and all the content of their posts are stolen off real fundraisers from other sites. Their link is never the real fundraiser they stole content from.

Please try to search the text of the accounts if they’re only a few days old. These scammers often use a pfp that is the same pic from the fundraiser they take content off of.

Otherwise, there are legitimate charities and fundraisers that are verified outside of freshly made blogs in your askbox. Please support them if you are unsure about those who send you asks.

Beware of spam messages

Hi! If you use the ‘GoFundMe’ tag for posts you may find that a blank bio/icon account will message you with a copy/pasted message that claims they can help you. They may also ask you if you still need support. Regardless, these accounts are just typical spam accounts who watch the tag for people to message.

In some cases, these accounts want you to go offsite or give them personal information such as banking details. Other times these accounts will offer to give you a check to cash by mobile deposit. Or they’ll request your phone number.

Unfortunately, these blogs are not here to support you and they are not going to give you aid. They are generally brand new with either no posts or several posts that may be reblogs of other posts to look more legitimate. If you have messages off, they’ll just spam your comments instead.

If your post has links in it, they would use those to help you. No one would message you unless they have questions or just want to verify you received whatever they sent. Do not give blank accounts any personal information or phone numbers. They may use this to get your money.

Is @ Haneenatya a scam blog? They didn't send me an ask like most do and instead followed me, but idk the fact they aren't that old of a blog, didn't answer me on their blog when I asked about something that confused me about their gofundme description, but instead sent me an ask? I geuss that could be just being new to the platform, but idk it feels odd, feels like they didnt want the question on their blog for some reason, what do you think?

As I’ve stated before, some Palestenians are new to tumblr and don’t quite know how to work it. And as I also state, not every one of them asking for mutual aid is a scammer. I also would like to point out that that the blog doesn’t show the common signs I explain in my posts and links to their own fundraiser which isn’t something scammers would generally do, as the scammers I show would link to a PayPal account and not the fundraiser they stole from. They likely don’t know how to use tumblr properly, and figured sending an ask would work just as fine. As long as they gave you what you were asking about, there’s nothing on the account that would raise my suspicions.

Though I would suggest someone please tell newcomers to not spam tag their posts with tags unrelated to the content otherwise not directed toward the one I’m being asked about. Just in general.

Do not start a fundraiser for that account. They are not in Palestine and are taking advantage of anyone who doesn’t know they’re a scam artist. They keep changing urls when called out and already have gotten one person involved who wasn’t aware of the scam. The person has refunded the funds back to those to sent it.

The account has been under the following urls:

If any of the accounts contacted you and you donated, please be aware it was a scam and the funds weren’t going to someone in Palestine. It’s unknown which country this scammer is in since their PayPal links aren’t to a direct account.

Also just a heads up that miniaturepostkingjaiur is a scammer going around sending very lame hate asks if they don’t like your answer to their scam ask. They aren’t a Palestine person needing mutual aid their a scammer whose been at this since the start of February and refuse to back down despite being removed across so many accounts.

You can search the url for evidence and to see the source of the fundraiser they’ve copied. Otherwise I’d suggest blocking and reporting them before they come into your inbox with their usual scam ask. You can also find the real fundraiser linked here showing all the urls they’ve used for this one. For a full list of their accounts, this post updates when possible.

Remember, a stranger sending you an ask to share their pinned pet post should be treated with caution. Ask them how they found you. Ask them why their sending the ask. Ask them if they can take a pic of their pet with a paper showing their username.

If the account is sending asks to share their medical aid post, ask them how they found your account. Ask them to be very specific regarding why they are asking you and not someone else. Give them links to useful resources and see what happens.

Anyway crazysjoji is a scammer pretending to be in Palestine and will try to get you to fundraise for them so if they get caught out for being a scammer you’ll catch the blame. Don’t fundraise for them if they sent an ask. I’m just tagging them so if they change urls it’ll show and they’ll see why you don’t change dates on reblogs. It gets seen. Really easily! Don’t do that.
