KOV!Sam: What the fuck kind of pep talk is that?

KOV!Grian: Ominous positivity.

I'm writing this with one hand since, patch (my cat) is sitting on my other. 

Sos i was gone for a while, no motivation, and apparently I can only write when life is busy! But i'm back!

Also got a new obsession, ‘School bus graveyard’ . It's a webtoon thriller, you should totally check it out!! 

(I never rlly watched KoV, but i've read a few fanfics about them so if this is out of character sorry :> + why it's so short )

“Sam, are you sure this is safe?” Taurus asked, his voice muffled by the mask that covered his face. The three of them were standing in front of a strange purple portal? Inside a cave, it cast an eerie light on the group but Sam was determined to go in.

“He has a point, Taurtis. It’s either we go in, or we go back and get put in jail..so.” Grian added, leaning against his staff. 

“See! Even Gree-on agrees.” Sam ran through the portal, leaving the other two to follow behind sadly.

Okay, they were slightly off mission. (Whatever the mission had been in the first place, do they really know?) This definitely wasn’t Valor. In fact, if Sam had heard properly, they were on a completely different server. 

Sam stopped thinking (Amazing, I know.) and decided to look around the.. Base they had been put into. It was essentially.. A castle, on some floating rocks? How that works, no clue. But it didn't have a door, so the others had needed to block it off so they couldn't leave. But honestly, they could have given them some proper furniture.

“Do you think they are going to come back? I don't want to be here forever.” Taurtis asked from the corner, “Plus. Grian’s freaking me out…” Sam looked towards Taurtis, head tilted with confusion, Taurtis simply pointed to the corner, where Grian was facing the wall and muttering to himself.

He slowly walked closer so he could hear what Grian was saying. 

“Everything will be okay … You can not stop it.”

“G-”

“Everything will be okay … You have no choice.”

Sam Grabbed Grians shoulders, spinning him around to face him. “What the fuck kind of pep talk is that!? It's so creepy! And depressing!”

Grian pushed Sam off him, leaning against the wall. 

“It's called ‘Ominous Positivity.’”

I think Grian has the most interesting character arc in Kingdom of Valor, he was sent on missions by an irrisponsible king who saw them as nothing more than expendable idiots, was imprisoned by the same king after he had completed said mission, and spend god knows how long in the dungeon before being unfortunately saved by Olga, who would disgustingly sexually assault the wizard. The next morning he’s hobbled in a corner, having had an axe ran between his toes, passed out, assumedly being licked in his sleep, stripped and redressed to wear a leather gimp suit with assless chaps, and whatever the hell else Olga did all night. He thankfully knocks Olga into a pit full of wraith’s where she’s swarmed and killed, and with Grian’s mental state and moral compass slowly deteriorating, he murders almost the entire population of the viking village and claims himself king.  The episodes and events after show how poorly he’s taking it all, he robs and kills a poor couple who’re going to get medicine for their sick children, he regularly indulges in cannibalism, and becomes a tyrannical king much like the one he had previously served under. His torture at the hand of the bandit and rat only made him worse, having been beaten, stabbed, and whatever else happened in that cave, which he completely snaps, screaming about wanting to murder everything in his path and trying to kill himself by beating his head into the wall.  Grian gets his stuff back but is a shambling mess of a man, with a completely unfinished story, as he gets separated from Sam by unknown means and is most likely either still ruling his “kingdom”, manically running around the world, or dead. He is a tragic character who has the worst done to him in the series, having been imprisoned, raped, and tortured, his absolute dive into madness and tormented life are a show of how awful and brutal their world is, being a medieval fantasy universe filled with disgusting, evil people, and good people who become evil as a result.  Just like most other serial killers, Grian is an evil man who’s mania and brutality is just a result of terrible, terrible abuse.

A Kov x OFC fic I'm finally working on...

literally let's see if this ever sees the light of day LMAO.

“Tolaris, what’s wrong? You look upset,” Kov said, wiping the grease from his hands as he finalized his tinkering repairs on the Vahklas. 

“It’s nothing, Kov. Mind your own business,” Tolaris said, hurrying away down the hallway and slamming the door to his room. 

Something had most definitely happened, and his long-time friend did not seem willing to talk about it in any capacity. All Kov knew was that they were currently departing from the U.S.S. Enterprise, and his brief introduction to humans and their new spacefaring programs had come to an end. The human Tucker had been most helpful, however. He was, admittedly, surprised by his adept capacity for understanding complex Vulcan engineering methods. 

Then, he spotted Captain Tavin and quickly realized this may be his only shot at getting any explanation for the sudden change of course. He had a few more questions about humans that he had wanted to ask his new friend. After all, when would he get the chance to talk to another human like this again when they were so far out in the middle of nowhere?

“Captain, what happened?” Kov asked. 

Tavin, their reliable, kindhearted captain, seemed noticeably troubled. They did not hide their emotions here, and while Kov found it undeniably liberating, it sometimes made life aboard their small ship a bit disorientating. 

“Nothing you should worry about, Kov. You’ve been working incredibly hard. You deserve a break.”

“I’m not tired, though.”

“Rest. Meditate. You’ll need it.”

Kov cocked an eyebrow, his eyes absent-mindedly wandering back to the direction where Tolaris ran off to. “No, I don’t need to meditate by myself. I’m joining you and the others tonight on the bridge. Like we always do.”

“Maybe consider making private plans,” Tavin replied politely with a nod before walking away, leaving Kov standing alone in the corridor feeling a bit stupid. He turned back in the direction of Tolaris’s room and came to a realization of his own.

He had always been discouraged from making false conclusions without substantiated evidence in all kinds of matters, be it personal or otherwise. Despite this, Kov had a feeling, in his gut, as he heard some humans use the colloquialism, that Tolaris had been involved in something bad, but he didn't know what yet.

I tried that one coloring technique again but I think overall I don't really like it. My normal coloring bled into this one a lot sooner than the Dren picture. Ah well
