.:The LightniKaiser verse (Gen)
It’s a verse in which Ken and Daisuke go undercover as villains in order to stop a bigger villain (possibly Himekawa) – they don’t tell the others at all except the 02 group and Koushiro. Ken is the brains while Daisuke is the… emotional and “brute force” side so this is very risky. Daisuke himself hates to be doing this, but Ken asked for his help so he will do his best for his friend.
This a general LightniKaiser verse with my muses Dai-Ken-and-Maki. This is not associated with my threads with Iggy’s Kaiser tho.
Also, since I don’t feel able to write 02-era Kaiser (my portrayal for him is mostly based on post-02 material, like MenAS and DSB), I won’t be using Kaiser icons (also, he got a different design here too…) – plus this Kaiser persona is just normal Ken being petty and assertive (just like i usually portray Ken-chan haha 💦)

The differences between Adventure and 02 art styles
Posted previously by @shihalyfie about the differences between those in her blog, this post is mostly a complement to said post.
Note: I’m an amateur freelance artist, but I’ve been studying the style of those two series for ages now, and I’m just offering my thoughts and opinions about the subject. Anything stated in this post is my opinion and shouldn’t be treated as anything than just “an artist’s opinion” about the subject. Professional artists, feel free to add your thoughts and correct me if needed! I’m always open to learn new things.
Scans from the Jogress Edition Blu-Ray Box were uploaded by Digisoul.net.
Adventure’s art style is, as you can see, much more deformed than 02′s. 02 still got thin limbs and big hands & feet, but not on the same size as the prior series. Eyes are more thin and smaller than Adventure’s big eyes.
I’m using Taichi as example here firstly but the one with most visible differences is Mimi, as stated in Shiha’s post. We’re examining her differences next:
As you can see, Mimi’s eyes were bigger and had two highlights instead of one. However, in 02 her eyes became close to the majority of characters in the cast -- smaller and thinner.
The one time 02 had no actual footage for Adventure and they had to pull a complete new scene for a prior event to 02′s main story was on ep 27. In which the differences between the Adventure vanilla and 02 styles are more visible:
While it’s easy to let such differences slip, note that the anatomy is not much deformed and the faces of everyone have smaller eyes. The most noticeable in this scene (which barely gets on screen, so you have to go frame-by-frame), is Mimi:
Which got her 02 eye style instead.
I assume the changes in this scene -- anatomy and faces -- is supposed to emulate their growth (also speculated by Shiha in her post) though this is the closest brand new scene in 02 with their design looking similar to Adventure series.
Other details to explore is... As you (probably) noticed, in Adventure style they had no line separating the shading in their eyes, whereas in 02 there’s a line doing it in some characters -- mostly visible in the Memorial Artbook Animation Chronicle since its just lineart with no colors.
Also visible in anime in the girls close up scenes or ref sheet from 02 Blu-Ray artbook.
FUN FACT ROUND!!
Kizuna’s character designer is the same for Adventure and 02 (Nakatsuru) and we got some quite interesting takes in it.
Kizuna’s style is even less deformed, mostly in a “realistic” proportion. Most of the characters now got pupils (and not just Yamato, Takeru and Ken) -- Jou and Koushiro kept the same eye style except there’s a light color in the inferior part on them, and Iori’s case is more interesting (check below) -- and the eyes are more rounded but not oval like Adventure’s.
I’d like to say Mimi is the only (!!) character to get two highlight in her eyes, giving this old Adventure aura to her:
While is not very visible due to coloring, characters like Taichi and Daisuke got pupils as well, but only visible in their lineart from Animedia:
Iori’s case is interesting, in which said “pupils” are actually made by shading instead of a black pupil like the rest:
The most visible cases of pupils are the girls due to them all having more light eye colors:
And that’s all, thank you for reading 💞

Each of the cards had a picture of a Digimon on it, and there were nine in total.
Koushiro looked at the stone slate next, at the pictures of the lion, archer, and monkey, and the three sets of stars.
In other words,
they would have to put one card into each of the holes.
While Koushiro was studying them, he was unaware that Sora had come to stand behind him at some point.
Now she asked him, “Do you know what it means?”
“No, not at all. But this ∴ mark on the slate looks familiar. Maybe it was Aleister Crowley…”
“Aleister Crowley? Who’s that?”
from "Operation Invade the Real World",
Adventure Novel 2, translated by "Onkei" of Digital Scratch
Per Wiki's entry on him:
Biographer Lawrence Sutin stated that "blatant bigotry is a persistent minor element in Crowley's writings". Sutin thought Crowley "a spoiled scion of a wealthy Victorian family who embodied many of the worst John Bull racial and social prejudices of his upper-class contemporaries", noting that he "embodied the contradiction that writhed within many Western intellectuals of the time: deeply held racist viewpoints courtesy of society, coupled with a fascination with people of colour". Crowley is said to have insulted his close Jewish friend Victor Benjamin Neuburg, using antisemitic slurs, and he had {"mixed opinions"} about Jewish people as a group. Although he praised their "sublime" poetry and stated that they exhibited "imagination, romance, loyalty, probity and humanity", he also thought that centuries of persecution had led some Jewish people to exhibit "avarice, servility, falseness, cunning and the rest".
{Presented without further commentary} except
Koushiro would definitely know about this history of them too.
