I keep thinking about maybe the people who got a beef with Ukkomon because of Rui might have missed the entire plot or even the final parts of the movie, and i'm still angry at some random person on twitter claiming Rui is an Ukkomon hater.

it's like if i'm back to the time a good chunk of people were hating on Iori because of Ken, and having weird claims that Iori never accepted/forgave Ken when there's a scene in the Christmas episode with him accepting the invite to Ken's party.

like, one thing is dislike Ukkomon (or even Iori), another is make those claims when the movie (and series) show the complete opposite of those.

it makes me ask [rhetorically]: Did you even WATCH the entire movie (or series)??

But i was expecting this to happen the moment a friend sent me the spoilers of the movie (by my request), and then when i watched it by myself.

​Haru is not present in the Digica (yet), but Toei does count Appmon as digimon entry. It's Bandai who couldn't commit to it until this year.

And yeah, sorry to say this but they definitely count Appmon as a different type of Digimon critter -- the anime is was we account as digimon entry, but the mons are some sort of its own thing, and even in Appmon anime they point out that they're the successors of the Digimon (in the end of the Agumon episode)

And until now i don't think they found a solution for that? Appmon has its own mechanic, so it would've been hard to add in a classic-like digimon environment. Possibly they will figure things out someday and fully put Appmon in a traditional digimon game/TCG/V-pet (i think Habu wanted to add them in the games? but i don't remember where i read this before...? I wonder if the new producer he trained will find a way to do that...)

I know this sounds harsh, but i can see why Haru would be not there. But Tagiru/Gumdramon are indeed main branch/classic Digimon and they keep either skipping them or counting them as protags.

Tagiru & Gumdramon be like: "DO WE COUNT AS PROTAGONISTS OR NOT?!?!?!?!"

It's funny how Tagiru & Gumdramon (and Young Hunters) have this strange status of either being included in a pic of all digimon protags or not...

Because Hunters is not technically counted as its own series. Unlike Adventure'99 and 02, Hunters is officially classified as the 3rd arc/segment from Xros Wars series, which means sometimes they just count Taiki and Shoutmon to rep XW and call it a day.

Tagiru and Gumdramon are truly the Schrodinger's Digimon Animation Protagonists and i find it very fitting to their characters lol

I have a confession to make: As much i’m tired of Adventure milking just like everyone else, i’m also tired of people using this as an excuse to hate on Adventure & 02. Why i’m tired? Because this won’t help in anything to demand Bandai/Toei give better treatment to past-02 series, and it will only make people who legitimately like those two series and are also tired of the milking feel uncomfortable around people – including friends who once they felt safe with.

And the part that makes me even more mad at this trend? That 02 is now lumped with Adventure hate as if 02 didn’t get enough hatred and dunkery from the hardcore fanbase for ages. Look, i know other series deserve better treatment, but i’m not going to hate and dunk on something that made my childhood in order to make my other favorite series to get new merch and stuff.

To be honest, i’d prefer if we don’t get any new movie-sequel for ANYTHING old and new (yes, GG included now) and we focus on getting new stuff, new series, new characters.

I’m just tired of this, if you want your favorite series to get better treatment, promote it positively instead. Don’t use them as an excuse to hate on Adventure franchise, including hating on 02 gdi.

I’m tired of this.
