Forbes interviewed Xe Ke, a founder of ONO Social Network built on the blockchain.

Xu Ke said that whenever you start an adventure, it is all about pursuing the goal in life.

“ONO will operate in a democracy, which allows content creators to own their content and receive rewards.” - Xu Ke.

 Chinese entrepreneur Xu Ke has an exceptional talent for numbers. In 2013, she has developed an interest in poker as an exchange student at the University of California. Although she was under 18 and was below the minimum gambling age in the US, Southern California casino allowed her to play due to her extraordinary skills.

 In 2013, Xu Ke developed an interest in cryptocurrency and started as an early Bitcoin miner with her Imperial College classmates. During this time, she acquired the great knowledge of the decentralization culture and theory.

 Xu Ke and her partner owned more than 50,000 Bitcoins at one point (Xu Ke personally owned more than 20,000). In 2014, she has sold all of her  Bitcoin and returned to China to start the blockchain business with 4.8 million US dollars.

 Now 24-year-old Xu Ke realizes that she sold too early at that time since the value of 20,000 bitcoins is close to $120 million, today in 2018. In 2016, after successfully creating and selling social app ERA, Xu Ke founded NOME TECH, a blockchain startup in Beijing which focuses on blockchain social network dApp and ecology.

 Before starting the NOME TECH foundation, Xu Ke also founded successful blockchain decentralized game CryptoDogs. After seeing growing problems in which Facebook was dealing with personal data, Xu Ke began to focus on her other idea, a decentralized social network based on blockchain technology, where all user data is decentralized and the users are in the control of their data on the network.

 ONO beta version launched in China on 15th of April and the international version followed in the late July, more than 3.45 million registered users in the first four months.

 Xu Ke was inspired by the words of the creator of the World Wide Web, Tim Berners-Lee, as the reason for creating ONO. When Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web, his vision was to allow people to exchange information and knowledge freely. Internet was created for the people to exchange the information freely and it resulted in that currently, top ten tech companies are making a profit by selling personal data.

 Xu Ke states: “Everyone has the right of own their personal data, this is where the value of the blockchain lies for the people. ONO, the world’s largest decentralized social network will not sell personal data of their users.”

 Currently, ONO APP is available to download on GooglePlay and Apple AppStore and it can be additionally accessed through the web browser.

 Early in June, Grand Shore Fund and South Korea KIP jointly invested 10 million US dollars in ONO. Xu Ke said that ONO will also carry out offline advertising promotions and other cooperation with major brands in the future.

 ONO headquarter is located in Beijing with 76 employees, another 15 employees work remotely and it has more than a thousand volunteers worldwide.

 ONO operates in democracy, in which content creators own their content and receive ONOT token rewards for their content creation. Xu Ke believes that democracy will be achieved through a reward system in which valuable content creators get rewarded by the community.

 Xu Ke believes that ONO will become the number one social network. “I want to create something more valuable than money, and I want to create something that can have a long life.” - Xu Ke.

Bachelortown 5: The Resurrection

I had to spend a few hours yesterday resetting the town and getting all 41 bachelors moved in, but now since I’m properly utilizing the Saver mod, hopefully we won’t have any more corruption episodes (or even if we do, I’ll only lose about 30 minutes). I also spent some time fiddling with the Story Progression mod options, since I have a few of the personality modules installed (Cops and Robbers, Lovers, Meanies, and Extras) and some of them were default female-only and/or unavailable to adults/young adults. I also set the romance limit to 1 - but only after I realized that the Casanova was causing problems. (Yes, I understand the fundamentals of such a personality, but since the point of this project is to pair the boys off, I’d like to mitigate at least some of the relationship drama.)

After all of that, I was finally able to let the town run its course! This is the rundown from the series of screenshots I took:

A Tour Through The 2021 Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach

The living room by Kentucky-based Benjamin Deaton is full of color and p[attern

The fourth annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Palm Beach is all about color, pattern, whimsey, drama and personality. If we follow the lead of the 20 designers whose work is showcased in the 4,400 square foot Mediterranean villa located at 7417 South Flagler Drive, we will reach for saturated color, big patterns, wallpaper and fabrics that are scalloped, fringed and tasseled. Lighting fixtures will be the dramatic jewels to a room’s décor; floors and ceilings will be fifth and sixth walls, to be decorated with as much abandon as the four walls enclosing a room.

The Show House is open to the public April 8- May 9, 2021. Due to the Corona virus, this year’s Show House is a hybrid event, offering both first-hand and virtual experiences. For those visiting in person, the Show House is implementing precautions to protect participating designers and guests, including limiting the number of attendees. Admission tickets will be sold for specific dates and times to ensure that guest count allows for ample social distancing. In addition, all guests and employees of the house will be required to wear masks and health screenings will be conducted for all staff, as well as increased cleaning and sanitation throughout the house. 

Entering by way of Palm Beach-based Fernando Wong’s Hollywood-inspired front motor court and pool terrace, we step into a two-story foyer, staircase and hallway designed to evoke a Colonial hothouse by Casa Gusto of West Palm Beach. Vines wreathe along the walls between ceramics, and colorful mosaics frame antique botanicals.

The living room by Kentucky’s Benjamin Deaton has azure walls, a chocolate lacquered fireplace mantel and an inviting bar. Lorna Gross, a DC-based designer, made the dining room lush with a décor based on a gorgeous silk rug populated by whimsical, colorful critters. A step to the rear courtyard and garden is hardly a step down: SMI Landscape Architecture, a local firm, pays homage to the historic Palm Beach slat house of the Hotel Royal Poinciana with teal vine-patterned lattice, a pebble mosaic koi pond, a limestone and gravel checkerboard floor, potted maho trees and, hung on the walls, masses of yellow orchids.

The kitchen designed by Atlanta-based Mark Williams is the only neutral room in the house. With traditional tiled walls, white oak cabinets and marble-hued Consentino countertops, the room has a horizontal orientation that makes for a sense of luxurious calm and ease.

A dramatic, botanicals-inspired bedroom

Laundry meets luxury in the utility room, reached via a pair of custom walnut and brass barn doors. HW Interiors installed a dramatic onyx floor backlit with LED bulbs, an extravagant counterpoint to the very practical dog shower. Another small space with huge impact is the powder room designed by Atlanta-based Forbes+Masters, where gray marble-like tiles tinged with pink and cream line the walls.

New York City’s Mikel Walsh created a primitive, modern family room furnished with his own Cradle Chairs and crowned with a tasseled chandelier. Next door, the vestibule leading from the public family room to the private bedroom is called “Flock Hall” by designer Harry Heissmann, also of NYC.

The primary bedroom, by Courtney Giles of Atlanta, is all about the Palm Beach location with palm tree wallpaper and a beachy vibe. The primary bathroom was designed by Miami-based Nicole White with dark, moody colors; the adjoining closet showcases Afro-chic glam with dramatic art and lighting.

The guest bedroom by local design firm Kemble Interiors is a stunner with larger-than-life hand-painted flora and fauna on the walls and a metal bed that mimics a bougainvillea vine. No less colorful and dramatic, the adjoining guest bath and closet by Ontario-based Alexandra Naranjo is a symphony of blues and tropical vegetation. Another guest room evokes a modern European sensibility as interpreted by Houston designer Nina Magon. A guest suite by Amy Morris of Atlanta has a bed placed in a corner and a pale blue painted floor. Westchester-based Brittany Bromley treated another guest room to hand painted scenic wallpaper and classic French elements. The adjoining bathroom is drama itself, mirrored with Mercury glass.

A second-floor seating area is lively and sunny, yet serene. Massachusetts designer Mally Skok, who is also a fabric and wallpaper designer, lined the walls with her latest botanically-based wall covering, while the ceiling and trim wear a sunny shade of terra cotta. 

The house is blessed with a number of outdoor spaces, including a loggia off the guest bedrooms designed by Atlanta-based Anna Braund and featuring a custom banquette, as well as an awning-covered balcony designed to evoke Caribbean chickee huts by Ellen Kavanaugh of Palm Beach.

Fatwa MUI Dibacakan di Kampanye Prabowo, TKN: Itu Ajakan Pilih Jokowi

Forbes – Ketua Forum Umat Islam Bersatu (FUIB) Al-Khaththath membacakan fatwa MUI soal kewajiban memilih di pemilu. Bagi TKN Jokowi, fatwa yang dibacakan itu bagai ajakan memilih Jokowi. Berikut bunyi fatwa MUI yang dibacakan Al-Khaththath: Bismillahirahmanirrahim, empat penggunaan hak pilih dalam pemilihan umum,  Satu, pemilihan umum dalam pandangan Islam adalah upaya untuk memilih pemimpin atau wakil yang memenuhi syarat-syarat ideal bagi terwujudnya cita-cita bersama. Sesuai dengan aspirasi umat, dan kepentingan bangsa.  Dua, memilih pemimpin dalam Islam adalah kewajiban untuk menegakkaan imamah, dan imaroh dalam kehidupan bersama.  Ketiga,imamah dan imaroh dalam Islam mengajarkan syarat-syarat sesuai ketentuan agama agar terwujud kemaslahatan dalam masyarakat.  Keempat, memilih pemimpin yang beriman, dan bertaqwa, jujur atau sidiq, terpercaya, atau amanah, aktif dan aspiratif, atau tablig. Mempunyai kemampuan atau fathanah, dan memperjuangkan kepentingan umat Islam, hukumnya adalah wajib.  Kelima, memilih pemimpin yang tidak memenuhi syarat-syarat sebagaimana disebut dalam butir 4, yaitu tidak beriman, tidak bertaqwa, tidak jujur, tidak amanah, tidak aspiratif, tidak fathanah, alias planga-plongo dan tidak memperjuangkan kepentingan umat Islam, hukumnya haram.

Jubir TKN Ace Hasan Syadzily menganggap Jokowi memenuhi semua syarat-syarat pemimpin di fatwa MUI itu. Bagi Ace, pembacaan fatwa itu di kampanye Prabowo seolah jadi ajakan untuk memilih Jokowi. "Dalam fatwa itu mengatakan bahwa memilih pemimpin harus yang ideal bagi kepentingan umat dan bangsa. Ace mengatakan fatwa MUI itu juga menganjurkan umat Islam memimpin pemilih yang jujur, amanah, bertakwa, aspiratif, dan memperjuangkan kepentingan umat Islam. Cowboy Chicken Fires up Expansion Plans by Adding Co-Founder of Boston Market to Team

Dallas, TX  (RestaurantNews.com)  Dallas-based Cowboy Chicken is poised for significant growth through franchising and corporate expansion. Kip Kolow, co-founder of Boston Market, is now working as Chief Strategy Officer of the wood-fired rotisserie restaurant chain, joining forces with president and CEO Sean Kennedy to strengthen systems and put processes in place to expand the fast casual brand across the country.

“Cowboy Chicken is a differentiated concept – one of only two national rotisserie chicken brands,” says Kolow, who co-founded the Boston Market chain in 1985. “That means we stand out in a sea of burgers, pizza, Asian and burrito chains that have overproliferated, and we have a great opportunity with lots of white space available for growth. Our management team is getting stronger, and we are preparing to expand.”

Kolow and Kennedy first met at an industry tradeshow in 2013, instantly connecting over their shared experience with national rotisserie chicken chains. They built a friendship over the ensuing years, so when Kennedy decided in 2017 that it was time for Cowboy Chicken to assess and refine its business in preparation for expansion, he knew who to call.

“Kip is a master of details and operating systems,” says Kennedy. “He also co-created one of the first from-scratch fast casual brands, and I knew Cowboy Chicken would benefit greatly from his expertise in setting up scalable systems for multi-unit companies.”

“Working with Cowboy Chicken is feeding my soul,” says Kolow. “I have such respect for the way Sean treats employees and guests and his commitment to maintaining the integrity of the company culture. This brand, where the food is as honest as a handshake, is a rare find.”

Kolow joined Cowboy Chicken as a consultant in the summer of 2017, spending six months reviewing all facets of the brand’s business and beginning to build a framework for real growth. Named Chief Strategy Officer in January 2018, Kolow and Kennedy have now created and begun implementing a five-year plan for expansion that includes scalable systems for food production, an improved franchise communication system and infrastructure, accounting protocols and more strategic real estate initiatives.

Looking ahead, Kennedy and Kolow plan to continue attracting area developers and multi-unit operators. They are focused on leveraging technology to better understand the business and customer behavior, as well as developing Cowboy Chicken’s robust database of customer information to identify ideal locations, strengthen logistics for food distribution and new store opening and development, and market the brand more efficiently.
