Every once in a while you get to go to an event where the star isn’t just the product that is being launched, but the entire event is just as memorable as well. So it was with the recent Ki No Bi event I went for af Sushi Taka, St Regis Kl, where we got to try the Ki No Bi G Edition gin, and enjoyed a most delicious, sumptious, delectable omakase sushi meal paired with Ki No Bi gin cocktails. Ki No Bi’s @marcysakuma was there to talk us through the Ki No Bi gins - the highlight of which was the G Edition, which is aged in ex-Henry Giraud champagne casks. What a gin it is too. Fragrant, floral, fruity and bright, it has a nose you could sniff all night long. But at one point you need to taste the gin to and wow. On the palate, that effervescent bright floral note strikes you up front, with more balanced juniper, white wine, floral notes coming mid-palate, finishing with a lovely streak of bright fruit notes and lingering juniper. I live the fact that unlike many aged gins, the cask doesn’t completely overpower the base Ki No Bi notes, allowing for a more balanced spirit that you can just sip on its own all night long. Oh, and the dinner was fabulous as well. The uni sushi was perfect, the sweet shrimp was creamy and decadent, the Drunk Crab was so sweet and succulent, the Firefly Squid Smoke was superb… you get the point. The combo of great gin and great food really made this one of the more memorable events of 2033 so far. That’s why in film, books, and television we come to expect tension and conflict between characters. Otherwise, it gets very boring. There has always got to be a problem to solve or maybe that never gets resolved at all… or gets resolved in a destructive and unexpected way. "Nyame"

(pronunciation: nya-may)

noun

meaning: family member or close friend

This is mostly an informal word used by Kinobi to call their loved ones. In most Ki spaces, biological families have few separations from their friends and neighbors. Everyone considers each other like family in a typical Ki-centered village, to the point of some temporarily living with other families or children being taken care of by multiple adults throughout their lives.

As an example, a Kino would introduce someone from their village by saying, "This is my nyame, (name)". It is common for Kinobi to frequently refer to their loved ones as "nyame" as a sign of affection, to remind them that they deeply care for them and consider them family. One also might add "nyame" to the end of someone's name instead.

The botanicals are distilled at their best and blended with water from a sake brewery in Fushimi, Kyoto, to create the mellow taste of Ki no Mi. Ki no Mi House, where we visited on this day, also has a members' salon. You can enjoy original cocktails, bispoke gin making, seminars, etc. and enjoy the world of "Ki no Mi" from various angles. After enjoying long stay at the hotel until the late check-out time, we went to the HOUSE of KINOBI, a place we had always wanted to visit.

レイトチェックアウトの時間までみっちりエンジョイしたホテル滞在の後は、どうしても行ってみたかった「HOUSE of KINOBI」に遊びに行きます。クラフトジンのブランド「季の美」のフラッグシップショップ＆バーです。

京都が誇るクラフトジンのブランド「季の美」のフラッグシップショップ「The House of KINOBI」に。町家風一軒家の建物めっちゃかっこいい〜

ショップエリア、バーエリア、そして2Fに展示エリアとセミナーエリア。まずは2Fにおじゃまします。

階段のところにある蒸留器がレトロでかわいいですね〜⚗

こちらはセミナーエリア。本当は土曜日・日曜日の14:00から、ブレンディング体験セミナーが開催されてえいるのですが、お伺いしたタイミングではイベントは中止中で残念。（2020年9月から再開されたようです）

こちらはお土産エリア。

ここのショップ限定の蒸留の「HOUSE GIN」や、グラスなどのグッズも購入できます。

オーストラリアの蒸溜所「Four Pillers」とのコラボの「春夏秋冬」。本数限定。めちゃめちゃ欲しかったけど、これ以上お家のストックが増えるのも困るなあと思って断念。

You all can call me Obi-Wan, if you'd like! I use He/Him, They/Them, and She/Her pronouns (I'm genderfluid) and I am an adult (so 18+)!

I'm currently looking for all of my canonmates, I hope to share memories with you all!

The biggest thing I recall (that is divergent from TV canon) is that Satine didn't die. She also eventually told me that Korkie Kryze was mine and her son. I'd especially love to find members of my family (to Satine and our children, please be welcome here!)
