I love displaying this piece in my pop-up shop because it never fails to garner some compliments 💙

This show-stopping statement piece was inspired by vintage jewelry designs made by Elsa Schiaparelli during her collaboration with Salvador Dali in 1935. I wanted to play the structure and lines, here, in a way that imitated dripping water 💧 without crossing the line into complete deconstruction.

Howdy Everybody, and welcome to the Key-Holder Society! 🗝️✨

My name is Avery, I’m 27 y/o and I’m an Artist, Jewelry Designer, & Small Business Owner 👋🏼

My brand specializes in creating/designing intentional, handmade jewelry made with quality, hypoallergenic metals (ex. 304 Stainless Steel aka Surgical Steel & 925 Sterling Silver) and genuine healing crystals/gemstones. Hand-crafted with intention in small batches, my pieces are made to support the energetic goals and intentions of the wearer(s) and often feature ✨Single Edition Pieces✨ and Limited Collections that share a common design element which makes them that much more unique and truly One-of-a-Kind.

Established in 2022, Key-Holder Designs has just under ❗️500❗️sales on record (we keep track, at this stage, in our Instagram bio @keyholderdesigns which y’all are more than welcome to check out and follow, if you’re interested 🫶🏼) and we’ve recently begun to establish our presence on various online platforms to (hopefully 🤞🏼) engage with a wider audience and expand the community that I so proudly refer to as

“The Key-Holder Society 🗝️✨”.

(more on this subject, later 😉)

Due to our status as a relatively new brand/business, I’m still navigating the process of carving out and sometimes even discovering our style niche and common practices (aka “House Codes”, for my fellow fashionistas and couture enthusiasts 💅🏼🛍️) and will periodically update the community on the matter, as we explore and identify the brand’s signature styles. For right now though, I chose to approach my business’s current status as a Green Label with enthusiasm because it ultimately means that this chapter of our story contains a wide variety of designs, pieces, and styles that showcase the versatility and limitless inspiration behind our vision.

Current aesthetics in the shop at this time could be considered as:

• Luxury Minimalist

• Dark Academia

• Bohemian [Boho]; ranging from Rustic/Hippie to Witchy, Festival-Ready Styles.

• Eclectic, Vintage-Inspired Victorian-era Designs.

But not even I know what the future holds for us 🔮🗝️. As a fiercely intuitive artist and practitioner, I want to make it clear to you, my dear new friends, that everything you see here is a product of my intuition acting as my highest guide. The first year and a half of operations brought so many challenges, lessons, & victories but if Key-Holder Designs is to reach our highest potential?

✨ Design Spotlight ✨

🗝️ Pathfinder [Genuine] Skeleton key Pendant Necklaces

For as long as I can remember I’ve been drawn to certain objects: a sparkly rock in a parking lot, a feather on the beach, or even an old, forgotten key in someone’s junk drawer. It wasn’t until I became an adult that I began to pay proper attention to that instinct and recognized it for what it truly was: the perpetual hunt for Magick and meaning in a world that everyone around me insisted was nothing more than mundane…but we knew better, didn’t we Key-Holders? 😉

Old keys are the type of object that have inexplicably been recognized throughout history for their other-worldly properties. Across countless countries and cultures, we seem to have an unspoken agreement that they carry with them a special sort of energy despite the fact that many of us carry them with us as we go about our day to day lives without much thought to what they really symbolize or what they can do for us on our journey when imbued with something as simple and prevalent as our intentions.

Keys are tools that open doors 🚪 in our lives, both literally and metaphorically. They represent the transition from one stage of life to the next and, historically, have even been given as protective talismans to individuals set to enter a new chapter in life. This could be the beginning of biological adulthood, a school graduation celebration, or in the traditional sense: through home ownership.

These everyday objects also bestow the wielder with a heightened sense of direction/intuition and are believed to help guide them towards the next “door” they’re meant to pass through as they journey through this plane and surround them with a shield of protection to ensure they arrive safely at the threshold.🧿🙏🏼

One of my favorite discussions to have with new members of the Key-Holder Society typically begins when they ask me one very simple question: “does all of this stuff really work?”

To which I respond: “that’s entirely up to you, my friend.” ✨

Here’s the thing: Magick is inherently intertwined with what we know to be true about basic psychology. When you set your intention, make a point to continuously hold mental/energetic space for it, and align your actions towards supporting your goal(s), you’ll find that The Universe has a funny way of making sure you ultimately get whatever it is that you’re seeking out. Call it what you like, but I’ve never viewed the concepts of Magick as any less real than proven psychological phenomenons like the placebo effect. Through one avenue or another, we’ve seen time and time again over the course of human history that if you choose to believe it and take the steps to open yourself to it, you’ll find a way to achieve it; whatever IT may be, for YOU.

So rather than asking if Magick “really works”, I’d argue that a better question to ask yourself is “what do I have to lose if I choose to believe that it does? Or more importantly, what do I have to gain if I surrender to my intuition and trust that what is mine will find its way to me?”

For every locked door we encounter over the course of our lives, there’s one thing we can know for certain:

SOMEWHERE out there is a key…

✨ Vintage Abalone Shell Chip Necklace w/ Iridescent Teardrop Ammonite Pendant ✨

I picked up a string of these other-worldly ammonite pendants about a year ago and I’ve been hanging onto them waiting for the perfect piece(s) to showcase their siren-like sheen and I think this piece was an excellent debut 🐚

I got the base, abalone chips from a storage unit reseller at my last Flea Market event for the Spring-Summer vending season and I was SO excited when I spotted them!

Pro tip for anyone interested in jewelry design: don’t be afraid to use vintage materials and to take apart old jewelry that you may come across at the thrift store or other second hand locations to give the components an entirely new life 💕

I, personally, love to keep a lookout for vintage specimens of beads that I have a more nuanced ethical relationship with like coral, shells, and other natural materials that we now know to be harvested/produced using less-than-ideal sustainability methods.
