The night started to dawn on the camp, most of the companions were still out on exploration, while a few others stayed back, Tav being one of them.

It was a long time since Tav had time to unwind, after weeks of traveling without a break, everyone agreed to set camp at least for a day.

If the tadpoles wanted to act up, moving or not was going to change little, especially since Ketheric was already taken care of. Everyone doubted the remaining chosens would be able to do much without Ketheric's stone.

Karlach was the first one making her way back to camp, she was humming a melody while playing with something, tossing and picking it over and over until she came to a halt in front of you.

She holds out her hand, on the palm sat a perfectly smooth rock of the color of sea foam.

"I got you a rock because it looked pretty". She smiled

A small chuckle escaped the lips of Karlach as she looked towards her partner, the two having split from the party for the day to enjoy some time away from the impending doom of their world to try and enjoy what peace they had left. Of course, it was twofold for the demon, her engine burning harshly in her chest still but she did her best to ignore it. She wanted to enjoy this time with her partner, and her friends, and when it was finally time for her to face her end she'll face it with a smile on her face. She walked over to the other as she stood over them, her hand on her hip as she snorted.

"Need a hand there soldier, I told you that you should be training your body a bit more instead of relying on all those spells."

Hiya! My name is Mud or Muddy, I’m 26, transmasc and go by he/him pronouns. I’ve been roleplaying for the past 15+ years as well as delving into TTRPG in the past 7+ years.

I’m looking for RP buddies to roleplay some Baldur’s Gate 3 with! Can be one-on-one or group RP, I don’t mind, but must be 18+. While I roleplay in a semi-lit to lit style (often three or more paragraphs) I don’t expect my fellow roleplayer/s to always be able to follow that, what I do ask is that you give me enough to reply to! c:I live in Western Australia so bear that in mind when anticipating responses, while I AM a bit of a gremlin and up at all odd hours, I do sometimes sleep ^^

I do tend to enjoy equal amounts of romance, adventure, angst, fluff, comedy and hurt/comfort in my roleplays (sometimes a bit of horror and/or thriller too!) and am open to NSFW and SFW. I’m also open to any combination of pairing (eg. m x f, m x m, f x f, any x any) and am happy to do Canon x OC, OC x OC or Canon x Canon. On top of that I’m also super soft for the found family trope so I really enjoy strong friendships and familial bonds just as much as romance.

Just as an addition to the above paragraph, I am on the ace spectrum so while I am perfectly comfortable with and open to NSFW, I don’t want it to be in every scene. I’ve had roleplays like that in the past where the other person wanted to add a *lot* of spice in nearly *every* scene and it burnt me out pretty quick and made me a little uncomfortable at times.

My favourite characters are Astarion, Karlach, Halsin, Wyll and Jaheira with a big emphasis on both Astarion and Karlach. Preferably I would like to roleplay something Astarion-centric at the moment, but I am open to other characters as well! My preferred method of roleplaying is via Discord but I can also RP here on Tumblr if you wish.

And there we go - after (checks) almost exactly five months of intense liveblogging, Hector Carlisle's story in Faerun comes to a close - for now at least.

I already said this to some degree in my answer to that ask earlier, but thank you to everyone who has followed along on my writing about this game and Hector specifically. I've liveblogged a number of games over the years but this is the first that really got any sort of more public response, and I am so grateful to those of you who have followed my boy's story, showed interest, left likes, asked questions. And I have remembered how to be really excited about creating and storytelling and character writing for the first time in a very long time and I'm desperately grateful to have it back for however long it stays.

Also a tremendous and personal thanks to @springagainafter, who got me into BG1 and BG2 long before I knew how important this game/series was going to become to me and was a huge cheerleader for my similar liveblog passes through the earlier games. <3 And to @zenjestrr who has been my technical consultant (read: optimization goblin ;) ) through Hector's run and taught me a ton about the game that I wouldn't have known otherwise. And @writer86 who has listened to quite a bit of rambling about all of this and helped add a lot of detail to Hector's existence with our AU RP chats. :D

I will definitely be continuing fic writing about Hector and Karlach and their friends (particularly some Avernus adventures I hope, and I am always open to requests). And as I've mentioned already, I plan to start a Durge run in a similar livebloggy vein probably tomorrow (because I am still deep in the hyperfixation zone XD ).

Thinking a bit about the fandom's intense focus on the motifs of abuse, trauma, and corruption in Baldur's Gate 3. It's natural, of course. These are extremely hot topics in every fandom lately, and thematically, those notes are both very present and easy to analyze in every bg3 companion's story.

However, I'd love to see more breakdowns of the other questions the companions' stories pose. The reasons why almost any path can be read as happy from a certain point of view, if not good, assuming the player rps their role as being content with things.

This is a simplified version of these stories by necessity, but the questions that come to mind are things like:

Gale - When you've done something well-meaning but hurtful to someone you love, is it right to suffer until you prove you've learned your lesson, or should keep pursuing what you think is right because you never intended to harm others?

Wyll - When is sacrifice a virtue and when does it become a vice?

Astarion - If you're free, can happiness come from pursuing a second chance at the life you lost, even if it hurts other people, or must it come from learning to be content with where you are now?

Lae'zel - Is it better to listen to your enemies with an open mind in hopes you might learn from them or to staunchly protect what you believe in from their potentially damaging influence?

Karlach - When life isn't fair and your choices are limited, is it more important to survive at any cost so you can find more solutions or to live a life you're proud of, even if the consequences scare you?

Shadowheart - Should you dogmatically pursue becoming the person you want to be in your head, or reject outside influences and become who you are naturally suited to be?

I'm sure you all can think of far more poignant questions than these, but I hope it gives you an idea of what I'm after. Anything where the answer is "it depends" because the intersection of morality and happiness is complicated. Then we can talk about how the execution in bg3 influences the seemingly 'correct' answer to a difficult conundrum, or why there is so much diversity in what people get out of these branching paths.

"Can you please tell me how you ended up on the front page of the baldur's mouth, aGAIN?" Gale asks as he shakes his head, almost desperate at the words in the article. "Upper city's nightmare?' Karlach for the love of Mystra tell me you didn- actually, don't tell me yet."

She stood there, mouth open as she was about to reply, her finger was pointed up as if to try and let herself be seen, but before she can even think to say a syllable, Gale is reading out loud again.

"One of the heroes of the gate has been caught causing mayhem in the upper city. A reliable source, which we won't disclose for legal reasons, has informed us that Karlach Cliffgate, baldurian citizen, has disturbed a poor old lady that was strolling through the market." He stopped there, refusing to read forward, and staring defeated at the tiefling.

"J-just tell me it was for a serious matter" Gale pleads desperate.

"I wanna say it was, but actually-"

Looking to romance Ceres in Baldur's Gate 3 [RP]? Our comprehensive Ceres Sex and Romance Guide has you covered with a detailed list of all Ceres approvals and disapprovals, as well as how to get all Ceres romance encounters throughout Act 1, Act 2, and Act 3 in BG3 [RP].

To initiate a romantic encounter with Ceres in Baldur's Gate 3, it's crucial to advance in the game first. Additionally, it's highly important to consider Ceres approval when making decisions. Various instances in the story and moments at the campsite with Ceres can shape her perception of you. A negative relationship might result in her losing interest in you during crucial moments.

How and where to recruit them.

Ceres can be located in the same prison as Halsin, both of whom are potential allies in Baldur's Gate III. Upon rescuing Halsin, Ceres will join the battle alongside him.

Recruitment Options: There are two distinct paths to recruit Ceres into your party, depending on your alignment and choices within the game.

Good Recruitment: If you opt for the good path, after saving Halsin, you'll trigger a special cutscene with Ceres. Following the initial Tadpole Mindmelding scene, you'll have the opportunity to recruit her. Additionally, having Ceres in your group provides a bonus of +10 for every Leader in the Goblin Camp you defeat while she is accompanying you. This boosts your chances of unlocking the rare romance option with her

Evil Recruitment: Should your character's alignment lean towards the darker side, you can recruit Ceres through a more aggressive approach. If Halsin becomes your adversary, Ceres will follow suit. In this scenario, you'll need to knock out Ceres. After a long rest, you'll encounter her again in the prison cell of the Githyanki creche, where she is on the brink of execution. Interrupt this process and pass an Intimidation Check to coerce her into joining your cause.

Ceres Approval and Disapproval Guide

Ceres, your almost most self-indulgent party member, she follows her spontaneous desires and sets her own rhythm.Ceres takes pleasure in indulging in life's finer aspects and seeking adrenaline rushes. She frowns upon senseless acts of murder but appreciates helping children and enjoys being flattered. Ceres is an ideal party member for those embracing a less conventional approach to life and are comfortable matching the pace she sets.

In light of this, here's a breakdown of Ceres preferences and dislikes.

Ceres Approval List

Flattery and admiration for her cunning skills.

Loyalty among friends and allies.

Seeking justice for the oppressed and marginalized.

A good sense of humor and wit.

Stealthy and efficient infiltration techniques.

Appreciation for anything music related.

Respect for personal autonomy and freedom.

Displaying vulnerability.

Ceres Disapproval List

Needless violence and harm to innocent bystanders.

Maintaining high approval with Ceres proves challenging for characters aligned with evil tendencies. Nevertheless, specific early-game choices can effortlessly earn her favor.

How to Romance them in Act 1

To unlock the Romance route, you need to have at least +20 points and she must be the first one you approach at the festival.

If you did not have any Leader left over to kill with her, you get relationship points by the following choices:

Let Astarion kill the Gur [+5]

Accept the Hags deal [+5]

Destroy the staff of Mayrina [+5]

Help Karlach kill the Paladins [+5]

Open the door of the barn [+2]

Recruit Scratch and the Owlbear cub gives additionally [+2]

You'll find them sitting next on the log, if the tree log is destroyed the romance will be bugged out and you cannot approach them.

After +20 points you will get a special cutscene of waking up to weird animal screen, upon checking you see Astarion hovering dangerously but distraught over Ceres, both bloodied. According to Astarion he hunt a fox, and upon catching it, it turned out to be Ceres. They will admit that they are a Changeling. This will unlock additionally skills in the battle [Fox, for traveling of smaller holes or distracting the enemy & Tae for a strength build, will reset after a long rest]

"You saved not only Halsin and me, but also all this refugees. You are truly extraordinaire."

It was the right thing to do. [Ceres 1] "Don't humble yourself, everyone here is to celebrate you!"

Go back to your bedroll and engage with it to make a decision regarding whether to sleep alone or with Ceres, if you want the cutscene to be played with Tae make sure to use the skill first for them to change into him. Opt for Ceres, triggering a conversation that precedes an an intimate scene with her.

“Hey you came! I hope you can dance. And if not that will be fun nontheless”

Oh, I thought we sleep together “Dancing, sex – it’s all a grand performance, isn’t it? My mistake, but hey, let’s make tonight a spectacle to remember, regardless of the stage we find ourselves on.” [Will cut to the Sexscene]

And the music? [Ceres 5] [Ceres will wind up a music box playing ‘Down by the river’] “Ready for a dance under the stars?” [There will be a dance] -> “I did enjoy this, thank you.” Do you plan on stopping here? -> “Certainly not.” [Starts the sex scene] So did I, thank you. -> “You are welcome.”

i had a gale/zya romance in-game which i ended up really happy with (i chose to have her choose to marry and live in waterdeep, which i ended up really liking. while she got a lot of being a traveling cleric for so much of her life, she also finds a lot of satisfaction in being more temple-based and "settling down," so to speak. after....hundreds of years and the big netherbrain adventure, it doesn't feel at all like giving anything up.) BUT! i do not automatically ship anything in terms of rp. i'm very much open to ships for her and would say she's likely panromantic/demisexual. the easiest ships for her in terms of canon characters would be gale, wyll, halsin, or karlach. ships with astarion or shadowheart are possible, too, but would take some plotting and chemistry testing for a small selection of reasons. i'm not against other ships (i'm not trying to snub lae'zel or anyone else), they just haven't really occurred to me as possibilities in a romantic sense. yet!

obviously, i'm also fully open to ships with other ocs and/or canon crossover ships.

last but not least, while i'm generally referring to romantic ships in this post, i'd also love to explore more pre-established relationships of all sorts, whether platonic/familial or antagonistic. (maybe someone who knew zya pre-tadpole? etc)
