Izark and Noriko from Kanata Kara (From Far Away)! Another of my favorite couples!

I just re-read the manga and I love it so much. It’s sort of an older style of art, but just so damn beautiful! I tried to capture it in my fanart above, but I think it will take some practice. If I didn’t have other things I need to be doing, I think I would be spending all day drawing Izark with his gorgeous hair and broad, broad shoulders and tiny waist. And can I just point out that Noriko’s eyes are HUGE? I’ve always had trouble drawing huge eyes where they don’t look constantly startled, but Hikawa Kyouko is somehow able to put so much emotion into the characters with giant eyes and makes it look so natural. 

If you haven’t read Kanata Kara yet, I do recommend it. It’s the classic story of a girl being magicked away to a different world, which she needs to help protect. Noriko is refreshingly competent, but not overly so. She has a mysterious and handsome warrior to help her, but I think it is ultimately her calm inner strength and optimism that allows her to survive her trials. The romance is nearly perfect in that it’s one of the strongest elements of the story, but it’s not overdramatic and it’s not the one driving plot point. 

And did I mention that the artwork is completely and utterly beautiful!? Gah! I need to stop...

So I've read this manga over and over ever since I discovered in back in high school and I just love it. I just wanna recreate panel/s per chapter in my style (added the subs to make it look like anime haha)
