A rant on Kamina (w: an utter mess and spoilers)

OH MY GOD. I hadn't emotionally invested myself in a character since Eren Yeager last year. So when hands up towards the sky, quote-making, volcano-like Kamina came in Gurren Lagann, I absolutely attached myself to him. Keep in mind I haven't seen Gurren Lagann completely yet, but Kamina's death shattered my heart. I shut down the entire television once he said, " See you later, buddy." I didn't cry but I am hundred per cent sure I went through a hole-in-my-chest phase like Bella Swan from Twilight.

I adored him so much, and I understand why he had to die. But I definitely did not expect Gurren Lagann to pack the angst it did. It's odd that I gave so much to a character who only lasted for 8 episodes. But every time I look at Simon, I see the unwavering Kamina behind him. With his hand towards the moon screaming drill through the heavens Simon.

I don't think I'll come across a character like him ever again.
