Means of Deviation: Violent (Was beaten by his owner when he went against orders. After a thorough memory scan was done, it was discovered the order in question was to attack a child model that wandered into the warehouse for shelter)

Mental Stability: Stable (It's a dog, so mental faculties aren't very advanced to begin with, even if animal androids are more intelligent than organic animals. Roky isn't exactly the smartest android dog in New Jericho, but he’s certainly the friendliest)

*Visual Identifiers: Looks like a massive rottweiler, has several scars, newly grafted skin on left side of his face and right front paw, missing a chunk of his tail, blind in left eye, drools a lot.

It's likely that he lived a few years out in the streets before being adopted by Sophia Cullen, since Roky seems to know his way around town.

Don't be fooled by his intimidating size and appearence, Roky is the friendliest most cuddliest pooch around. He appears to think he's a lapdog.

Despite being Sophie's dog, he usually follows Lucina around.

Enjoys following Joel as well, although the EM400 has a very clear dislike of him.

He's not very clever despite having superior android intellect…

One of several android animals in New Jericho.

Tends to pounce on people as a greeting (Simon and Josh have fallen victim multiple times).

Can carry several children on his back, this dog is massive.

DBH - OC Ideal Pets

I'm still trying to finish up the Fallout AU Info Doc (I'm stuck on a few choices for what characters will be, especially Josh), so to keep up some activity I've decided to do a post about which kind of pet would be ideal for my OCs.

The list will be a bit long (because I have an absurd amount of OCs) so I'll put it under a cut if anyone is interested in taking a look.

--Androids--

Joel (EM400) - Despite being terrified of dogs, Joel's ideal pet is and will forever be Chitin, the android German Shepherd that has been nothing if not patient and loyal towards him. Joel's fear of dogs (especially rottweilers) still persists on some level, but Chitin helps him as a therapy animal.

RJ (EM400) - Despite being a rogue unit of the Jerry hivemind RJ still has a fascination for pirate thematics like his many brothers. As such, he has a fondness for exotic and brightly colored fish and other aquatic critters. The grand jewel of his vast collection is a tiny blue ringed octopus he calls Kraken.

Sergei (PL600) - Due to his many psychological issues, Sergei is not allowed to have a pet of his own. Instead he's being educated on proper petcare by Noah who keeps a close eye on him.

Noah (PL600) - Thanks to his great love for animals and veterinary studies, Noah is very capable around all sorts of critters. He has at least three cats (Elvis, Freddy, Brian), one dog (Melanie), five bunnies (Emma, Geri, Beyonce, Shakira, Kesha) and a guinea pig (Phil). They're all named after old singers which Sergei finds amusing.

Dimitri (PL600) - Dogs. Lots and lots of dogs. He has a lot of love to give to creatures that are inherently loyal and loving towards him. He's not only a professional dog-walker but also the Cullen family's official dogsitter. He has two puppies (A Rottweiler named Peach and a Doberman named Bowser) and is also quite attached to Roky and Chitin. He'd want to get a pet bat just to teach it to divebomb people (the threat of rabies is amusing to him).

Seymour (PL600) - Animal magnet. All animals just naturally love Seymour since he goes out of his way to feed strays. As a result you'll find a group of cats and dogs following him around town when he's either on or off duty as a police officer. He owns a massive Great Dane named Adonis.

Apollo (AP700) - He loves dogs but wouldn't be opposed to having a cat since they're more independent and he has Chance to care for. Despite his fondness for animals he'd appreciate it if Dimitri didn't constantly bring strays back home...

Proteus (IO100-P) - Took in his creator mom's three android cats and roomba after he returned home from the Io escape mission. He absolutely loves cats and would be the kind of guy to become a crazy cat-person. He thinks it's less of a problem and more of a compliment.

Dakota (CX100) - She would love to have a parrot. Chatty smart critters are a delight to her, and she'd greatly enjoy teaching it to greet people at the door or even on the phone. The only reason she doesn't own a pet is because she's very indecisive over what species she'd want to get.

Monochrome (CX100) - Not much of a pet owner. He's content with playing with Mile's bizarre android python, PB, who has the processor of a dog. He thinks she's pretty cool.

Baptiste (CX100) - He's terribly scared of animals.

Jindosh (HR900) - Horse kind of guy. He would greatly enjoy owning a ranch at some point, where he could train draft horses. He's not much of a rider himself, but just working with imposing and powerful animals brings him a sort of blissful tranquility.

Veronica (WR400) - She's a cat-person and isn't very fond of dogs, which is hilarious considering her and Scott's situation. She eventually gets a Siamese cat she calls Sir Rolland the Regal.

Scott (HR400 In K9300 Body) - As he's currently stuck inside a dog's body, it's pretty silly to get a pet. When he eventually does get a humanoid body again, he actually keeps the K9300 body and gets a processor for it. The dog's name is Old Friend.

Miles (RK300) - PB is the best noodle puppy in existence and he loves her too much to get any other pet. He has a great love and admiration for snakes, and thinks dogs are lovable and loyal.

Tristan (RK700) - He has a pet chameleon named Preston. It's a pretty ornery thing, but quite chill when he handles it. He likes to carry it around his apartment when he's alone and sort of vents to it since the reptile won't pass any judgment on his past actions. Tristan would kill for his pet chameleon if anyone so much as eyed it weirdly. He's incredibly attached to it.

Uma (???) - She spends a lot of time at Mr. Siddiq's abode to mingle with the exotic animal androids. She seems to be really taken with big cats and with wolves. At some point she rescues a wolfdog that was sent to a shelter to be euthanized. She named it Essex.

Bo Siddiq (YK500) - She doesn't keep pets since she already has access to all of her dad's rescued animal androids. Her best friend is Sasha the tigress.

Hearse (MC500) - He isn't very good with living beings, Dr. Ojomo's children are already complicated enough to look after, but he won't deny possums are pretty "metal". He started feeding one that's gotten into their garbage lately... He calls her Raven.

Eddie (WK218) - Myu's cat, Bravo, is his bestest friend in the whole world. He's extremely gentle with him and loves to spoil him rotten.

Stag (Hybrid Model) - Due to his alterations he's not patient enough with animals. He does follow a specific herd of deer sometimes and admires them from a distance. They seem to not be scared of him due to his antlers.

Bear (Hybrid Model) - Jordan wishes he could keep a pet as company. Sadly, since his reprogramming causes him to go aggressive whenever something approaches (excluding a very minute list), he doesn't want to risk going near any local fauna. He doesn't like bears very much (contrary to popular belief), instead if he could he'd like to own a rat (he thinks they're cool and pretty smart).

--Humans--

Valentina Hernández - She has Regi who honestly is more his own person and her personal bodyguard than a pet. She also rescues animal androids that have been negligently modded (she was the one who gave Miles PB since she couldn't undo the damage her original owner did to the poor python) by amateurs. If she were to get a pet she would go out of her way to either get a goose or a goat (her father had a goat named Pablo and her mother a goose named Rosalinda, they used to tell her stories about them).

Artyum Kutznekov - Has a brown tabby cat named Misha, and often rescues abandoned kittens he finds on the streets, nursing them back to health before finding them proper loving homes. He's a very nurturing guy despite his grumpy disposition and intimidating size. Val finds it hilarious how he can hold three kittens in one single hand.

Benjamin Peterson - Has a thing for spiders, which has caused several arguments between him and Val. He owns a Mexican Red Tarantula named Tarantino, and he is definitely the guy you call when there's a spider somewhere in your house. He either rescues them or (if they're big enough) offers them up to Tarantino as sacrifice.

Dr. Ojomo - She has a great fondness for birds, specifically birds of prey. On weekends she goes to a sanctuary to help rehabilitate endangered wild birds. She has handled owls and vultures alike. She's taken notice of Earl's habit of feeding the possum that keeps getting into their garbage and finds it adorable.

Elisa "Myu" Corvo - She's without a doubt a cat-person, but she does like dogs as well. She owns a rescue cat named Bravo.

Mr. Asad Siddiq - He rescues exotic animal androids from negligent owners. His collection is incredibly vast and even includes dinosaur androids. All of his animals (except a few very difficult abuse cases) are incredibly fond of him and will approach him openly. His favorites are Sasha the tigress (his very first rescue), Ahri and Jolene (a coral snake and a rattlesnake), and the large herd of giraffes he has amassed from different zoos.

Means of Deviation: Abusive (He was a specialized unit at the Eden Club, designed with the appearence of a PJ500. As a result he met some very messed up individuals who took their fantasies a bit far...)

Mental Stability: Stable (For a traumatized android man stuck inside of a dog's body, Scott isn't the worst case around...Which is a very odd thing to say.)

Visual Identifiers: Looks like a huge gray pitbull, cropped ears, brown eyes, wears bandannas most of the time

--Additional Notes--

He was specifically ordered by the Eden Club to fulfill teacher-student fantasies. While this shouldn't be surprising, the ferocity of his clientele was definitely startling for this poor android. He deviated from pure stress alone, and has an intense hatred of the Eden Club that fuels him to defend Veronica. He's incredibly protective of the younger WR400.

After Echo and Ripple escaped, Scott put his and Veronica's own escape plan in motion. They made it out, but not before they got shot at.

Scott was hit on the pump regulator, which would have meant imminent death if Veronica hadn't acted so quickly. His memory chip managed to overwrite a massive K9300 model thanks to its lesser intelligence, but he still exibits some dogish traits.

How he got his voicebox modded so he could speak, is a funny story...It involves Val, Artyum, and a half empty bottle of vodka.

Scott is a bit rude and grumpy at times, but he's a very observant guy. He doesn't talk much while on his own, opting to watch his surroundings instead. This leads to people confusing him with a regular dog all the time. He doesn't complain about the attention, but he does hate it when he gets baby-talked.

He would like to be a real teacher some day, which he can't currently due to his status as a dog. Tristan insists he could still make it work, and that the students would probably love him because he's a dog.

He's not an overall bad case in New Jericho's archives, but Josh would sincerely appreciate it if Scott would stop disrupting the YK- Models's classes.

Means of Deviation: Violent (Was used in an illegal android fighting ring. Due to her fully upgraded specs, she eventually turned on her “owners” and managed to rally the other android dogs to do the same. Their escape wasn't without some bloodshed...)

Mental Stability: Stable (Despite the obvious damage and her means of escape from the fighting ring, Chitin is a very good dog.)

Visual Identifiers: Looks like a German Shepherd, missing skin and fur on her head, neck and back, hard to miss the cyberpunk looking dog that has somehow befriended Joel the cynophobe.

--Additional Notes--

K9099 models were the first android animals produced in the Cyberlife division in Belgium. They predate K9300 models, but were much less popular due to an effort to preserve traditional K9 units. As such, while there are some police dog models in European countries, this series flopped massively and never shipped off to America. How Chitin arrived in Detroit is pure speculation, but it likely has to do with her previous “owners”.

Surprisingly it was Joel who added her to the Cullen family. While this is odd due to his fear of dogs, it's not at all questionable. Chitin's state likely sparked some bad memories that helped him empathize with her. Since then he's kind of just accepted her as HIS dog.

Chitin isn't much of a housedog and will often get out and about to patrol the streets. Since she never got to be a police dog, it's uncertain if she's following base programming or if she just likes helping the DPD keeping the streets safe.

She's a master at fetch, having perfected the art of catching objects mid-air. This has become a problem due to her distaste for delivery drones…

Everyone in New Jericho loves this weird looking pooch. Some have expressed concerns over the state of her skin and fur, but she doesn't seem bothered enough by it to sit still for technicians.

She's a reliable guard dog and loyal to boot, as well as very polite and intelligent. She knows all the regular dog tricks plus some more that various people in New Jericho have taught her.

Puppy playtime is reserved for Roky and the YK models. The two dogs are very close, and Chitin loves children in general.

Lucina and Chitin belonged to the same fighting ring, and it's likely that Chitin's rebellion is what gave her a chance to escape. The two seem to have a mutual respect for each other.

Likes: Val, long walks at the beach, teaching tricks to the other dogs, belly rubs, children, strong independent women, dog shows

Means of Deviation: Unknown (Val has stated that Regi has always been unique, even before she modded his specs)

Mental Stability: Functional (Regi is a highly intellectual and one of a kind K9300, as he's been modded to have a much more vast grasp of concepts beyond just basic commands. As a result he can be considered a functional individual, even if he showcases alarming levels of aggression towards certain people)

Visual Identifiers: Looks like a massive Anatolian Shepard dog, has one red functional eye and a blinded eye, has a peculiar scar on the forehead and muzzle that looks to have been made by blunt force trauma...

--Additional Notes--

According to Val, Regi was acquired by her parents after their garage was repeatedly broken into. They thought an android dog would be a little more inconspicuous than a surveillance system. Regi also served as a companion for the family, and quickly became Val's best friend.

He was initially upgraded by Mr. Hernández and later fully modded by Val to be more resilient and intelligent. Regi is, as a result, abnormally aware and capable of understanding concepts that would ilude most K9300s. He has a very human element to his personality that certainly deserves respect.

After Mr. and Mrs. Hernández were deported back to Mexico, Regi became the only family and friend Val had left in the world. He is incredibly protective of her, and is very critical of those she interacts with.

There was an incident back when Val was 17 where she was attacked by an android that broke into her father's garage in search of parts. The attacker tried to beat her to death with a wrench, and proceeded to hit and scar Regi when he intervened. Because of this, Regi absolutely loathes imposing and threatening looking men, and will become aggravated when humans and androids meeting these criteria interact with his girl. Why Josh seems to meet these specifications, no one really knows, but Regi will snarl and bark at him like a mad dog if he so much as sees him near Val…

Scott claims that Regi is the easiest dog to talk to, as his “accent” isn't too thick. This implies android animals have a language of their own, although the dialect is very destinct. This would explain why vocal upgrades that allow pet androids to talk, can lead to confusing sentences constructed in a disorderly fashion (hence why they aren't very popular among pet owners who can afford them).

Regi Doesn't really have an owner, as Val says he's too independent and smart to be owned, but he certainly is loyal towards her.

You got that right, it is Detroit: Become Human, no need for embarassment!And to answer the question, the majority of my DBH ocs are androids, with a few being android dogs actually.I’ll list all of them here and give a brief look into who they are and what they’re like, buckle up it’ll be a long one ^^;

Androids:

Joel the EM400 - Like most EM400s he worked for an amusement park, but he was tasked with maintaining the haunted house attraction. As a result, Joel had to deal with jumpy people who’d kick and punch him and overall behave abusively towards the actors in the haunted house. He ended up deviating purely out of fear when someone sicked their supposed “service dog” on him. Joel is an anxious mess and an aspiring novelist.

Jindosh the HR900 - He’s a custom Korean Traci that traveled to Detroit after the revolution. The Eden Club wasn’t the only facility of it’s kind, and it’s obvious the Traci models in Korea have just as many horror stories to tell, if the extensive damage to Jindosh’s face is anything to go by. He works as a body guard for hire.

Sergei the PL600 - Jessica Lamb’s PL600 who was bought under the guise of taking care of her baby. Was actually tortured for fun and came out of it psychologically damaged and prone to odd fits. Is a masochist and a drag queen and probably my favorite out of my OCs.

Noah the PL600 - A special edition PL600 who’s main design difference is that he has green eyes. He’s a soft spoken individual who belonged to a man for a few weeks before he was traded in for an AP700. He worked for several other families for a while before ending up at a pawnshop.

Dakota the CX100 - Once a CX100 named David, Dakota is an extraordinary example of how modding doesn’t necessarily have to go the same track as what Zlatko did to his androids. Being perhaps one of very few trans androids does come with hardships, but Dakota has enough friends and allies that she’s always one call away from help if someone tries anything.

Monochrome the CX100 - Chrome is another interesting CX100. He’s an android that works as a dancer for a strip club called the Steamy Piston. The one thing that sets him apart from most standard CX100s is that his hair is black and his eyes are grey, which is where he gets his name.

Apollo the AP700 - He was a faulty AP700 that was purchansed by a family at an absurdly low price with added costumization. His memory chip malfunctioned during production, which made it impossible for him to recall things or people unless he was standing right in front of them. For a while this meant that Apollo couldn’t register a name for himself until he was properly repaired. His appearence is that of a PL600, but his hair is a shade darker, his face is noticeably freckled and his eyes are a different color each. He was abandoned and lived in the Android Junkyard for a while…He’s a bit cold at times but is actually a pretty affectionate guy.

Eddie the WK218 - A british maintenence android that was stolen and modded before being sold in a flea market as a partner model. He’s an anxious clumsy mess who’s definitly not used to being indoors, but the people who rescued him have properly adopted him into the family and he couldn’t be more grateful.

Aleshenka “The Stag” the WM500 - The Stag is a living urban legend that is seen roaming unlit streets at night. They are a heavily modded WM500 who’s created a small circle of cultists followers. To maintenence and construction worker androids, the Stag is a merciful creature. To android abusers, they are a merciless prosecutor. For some reason, interfacing with them is like being consumed by white noise, and it leaves other androids reeling and unnerved.

Veronica the WR400 - A rather shy WR400 that was purchansed by the Eden Club to substitute North when she was reported missing. She made a friend out of Scott, a HR400, and the two tried to run away after Echo and Ripple were let go by Connor and Hank. Unfortunately Veronica and Scott were caught, and while they did manage to escape, Scott was shot down, leaving Veronica no choice but to salvage her friend’s memory chip and find a temporary body to house it until she could get him a new proper one.

Scott the HR400/K9300 - Originally he was a HR400 that had the appearence of a PJ500. After making friends with Veronica, the two attempted to escape the Eden Club but Scott ended up getting shot down. When he next awoke, he was in the body of a guard dog model made to look like a massive pit bull. Sarcastic and often rude, Scott doesn’t mind the fact he’s basically the real life Scooby Doo, but god does he miss having opposable thumbs.

Ragnarok the K9300 - A guard dog model that looks like a rottweiller, Roky is a very friendly pooch who, despite having been horribly beaten by his owner, is eager to make friends. He seems to think he’s a lap dog.

Chitin the K9099 - A police dog model made to look like a german shepard that was used in an illegal android fighting ring. She’s a lot smarter than she seems, which is how she managed to escape and end up at the K9 devision of the DPD. She’s not just a good girl, she is the best girl.

Regi the K9300 - Val’s personal guard dog model and her only remaining family member. He’s loyal to a fault and will protect his owner at any cost. He’s a fan of belly rubs and ear scratches.

Zulu the WMK9 - A military grade android attack dog. He’s big, fast and scary. Enough said on that matter.

Miles the RK300 - An RK series prototype and also Cyberlife’s first attempt at utilizing the RK models in their pursuit for knowledge on deviancy. He was subjected to all sorts of experimentation to try to induce deviancy in an android and then attempt to newtralize it. This including psychological torture and physical torture as a means to fix a glitch…It didn’t work whatsoever and Miles eventually escaped and hid within the walls of Cyberlife Tower. He’s terrified of everything, including his own shadow.

Tristan the RK700 - The predecessor of the Connor model, Tristan was designed for infiltration. Cyberlife assumed that, by having an android that could blend in, they’d be able to stop deviancy at it’s root. Sadly, because they tested Tristan through military espionage missions, Cyberlife lost track of their prototype and he went rogue. Tristan is currently a mercenary for hire, chosing to work for the highest bidder, and lives what is essentially a double life. One where he has a civilian personality and appearence, and another where he can disguise himself as whomever he pleases.

Humans:

Artyum Kutznekov the Ex-Cyberlife Engineer - A 21 year old russian immigrant who came to america for a second chance. After lucking out and getting a job at Cyberlife as an engineer, Artyum soon came to realize something just wasn’t right with what the company was doing and that deviancy was more than just a glitch or virus. Unable to keep working out of disgust and guilt, Artyum quit and became a bit of a shuttin. This all changed when one rainy night he came across a severely damaged Sergei and decided to do some good with his skills as an engineer. He’s a gruff bitter young man who looks 40 due to his prematurely graying hair and unkept appearence.

Valentina Hernández the Illegal Modder - A latina 18 year old who helped her father mod androids for a living. A child prodigy, Val had a bright future ahead of her before Cyberlife began to blacklist modders due to the “danger” they posed for the company. When her father refused to stop modding, things took a turn to the worse, and now Val only has Regi to keep her company. Bitter and angry over the injustice her family suffered, Val has taken it upon herself to royally screw over Cyberlife, starting with helping deviants change their appearence. She was the one who modded Dakota, and seems to hold a lot of affection towards the CX100.

Elisa “Myu” Corvo the Android Rights Activist - A portuguese android rights activist who saved Eddie from the flea market he was being sold at. A long time advocate for AI and robotics, Elisa came to america to help in any way shape or form she could, even if it means offering temporary shelter or participating in large protests.

Jessica Lamb the Red Ice Addict - I don’t even know where to start with this one. She’s a drug addict, a drug dealer, a child murderer, and she’s a sadist. She bought an android with the sole intention of recording herself torturing it. She and her friends may have something to do with a certain WR600′s mental and physical scarring…Overall Jess is a terrible person and nothing she does is excusable or morally correct.

Chance - A small baby that Apollo found abandoned in a warehouse. Literally the only thing Apollo has to live for anymore.

AI Handlers:

Miles’s Amanda - One of the first iterations of the AMANDA handler, Miles’s Amanda, known as Amy, is a calmer and more understanding version of Amanda Stern’s AI copy. Her mindscape space is a bakery instead of a garden.

Tristan’s Amanda - The fifth iteration of the AMANDA handler, Tristan’s Amanda is closer to the final product, being stricter and more judgemental of Tristan’s overall behaviour and actions, with the one difference being that she does not have the same override protocol as Connor’s Amanda. She can only berate Tristan for his choices. Her mindscape space is a cinema theater.

Tango - An AI copy of Amanda Stern’s professor, Aaron Hoss, who was her greatest inspiration. He was Part of the RK300 tests, suffering through the same amount of torment as Miles, which in turn drove him insane. Known only as TANGO, this AI handler is a lot more ambitious and murderous than the AMANDA program.
