BEHIND THE ART: Jyemo Club asked me to make a piece with 2 birds. I looked through the bird books I have and couldn’t find anything good. I was briefly stumped and then had the idea to use the outline of a hummingbird.

I cut out a hummingbird from Nat Geo, and then made 2 copies. I taped each bird over a galaxy background and cut out their silhouette.

Then I glued the celestial birds on to white paper, scanned the collage, and sent it to @deepgroovedesigns for feedback. Chris suggested I put the birds over a background, but I felt strongly that they worked well on their own.
