The Birds of Prey swore they would advance to the Finals tomorrow. TJP/Connors get a consolation win in their final tournament match, but Tiger Mask IV put over Yuya’s hard work in the Tag League on the mic post-match. Taichi and Naito talked shit. Goto & Ishii brawled with Jay & KENTA. The same as it’s been all tour. Phantasmo pinning Liger just seems wrong to me.

A couple of updates on excursioning Young Lions real quick. First off, it appears Ren Narita’s US excursion will officially kick off in Crown Point, Indiana, of all places, as he has been announced to be taking part in Black Label Pro’s Slamilton event on 11/16/2019. Ironically Crown Point is closer to me now, in the Chicago area, than it was when I lived in Indianapolis, so there is a high chance I will be attending this show. His opponent is a Midwest veteran, Isaias Velazquez, notably in Freelance Wrestling and Warrior Wrestling here in the area, but also has appeared in Game Changer, MLW and EVOLVE. The show will be streamed live on IndieWrestling.tv as well, if you can’t make it to Crown Point.

Meanwhile, Hirai Kawato has tweeted for the first time in 4 months, and is apparently back in Mexico, if the pics he took are recent. According to TheCubsFan:

There’s been no mention of him by CMLL since disappearing from cards in early July. The only public report was Kawato was ill and had returned to Japan. Kawato is currently the CMLL Lightweight Champion; CMLL didn’t take the belt away. (They also still haven’t done anything about Dragon Lee and his Welterweight Championship.)

Kawato still is not listed as being on any upcoming cards, although that could change. We will keep you posted, but it’s good that there is some proof of life from him.

Tomorrow is the final Road to Power Struggle tour show, and the last group stage matches of the Super Jr. Tag League. Two teams will walk out of this tournament and into the Final on Sunday at Power Struggle. You can see this one live on NJPWWorld too.
