#just doing it to make duncan/gwen jealous but she also is starting to see the real alejandro underneath it all because he does care even
Text
telling myself i can't start another tdwt rewrite but dear god do i want to write one focusing on alejandro and courtney in this weird situationship thats a lot more nuanced than just alejandro manipulating courtney and her falling for it. like theyre best friends they dont trust each other theyre the same person they dont know anything about the other one theres a mutual attraction theyre pining for other people theyre codependent they dont care about each other theyre platonic soulmates like i just want to do a deep dive into how messy that relationship couldve been building off of their friendship that exists in my head except the line between romantic and platonic is so fucking blurred they have no idea what they are to the other person
#they live rent free in my head as you can tell#ive been writing some intense moments for them in amicus curiae and im having a lot of Feelings about platonic alecourtney#tbh the whole concept of them replacing the best friends has been a great avenue for me to do a deep dive into their friendship#aughhhh i just. love them so much#and i do want to explore them in a situation where there is relationship potential even if that relationship never actually happens#because everything between them during tdwt could be so MESSY!!#like alejandro says he's just manipulating courtney but he's also doing it to make heather jealous but he's also genuinely worried about he#after the duncan thing but this is the only way he knows how to express that concern without making himself look weak#meanwhile courtney is falling for the act but she also knows its an act and is going with it for the emotional support it provides and shes#just doing it to make duncan/gwen jealous but she also is starting to see the real alejandro underneath it all because he does care even#though he doesn't want to and they do feel a strong connection that they dont know whether its platonic or romantic because romance is bein#shoved down their throats on this show and theyre both in complicated romantic dynamics with other people that theyre the easier option for#one another but they dont really want to be with one another like it just doesnt feel right#okay okay i legit have to stop and go to bed but just. them. im thinking so hard about them#platonic alecourtney

TD Imagines- Courtney
The Fake
“Do you think them hating each other will ever end?” I turned to Cody who was tense with fear looking around to watch out for Sierra. “Huh? What?” He asks and I chuckle, “She’s helping Chris with something she’ll be gone for a while.” I assure him, soothing his anxiety about the stalker who doesn’t leave him alone. His body slumps in the chair. “I’m sorry, what were you saying, though?” He apologizes but I shrug it off, it was understandable, Sierra is a bit much when it comes to the boy next to me.
“I said, do you think they will stop hating each other? Over a boy, ya know.” My eyes were locked on Courtney crying about Gwen kissing Duncan. Heather weirdly comforted her, it was strange to see that happening. “Oh, probably not. Courtney’s pretty persistent and stubborn.” He takes a bite of his food, I bite my lip, frowning. “Right.” I sigh.
“Why do you care?” He chews on his food, I make a disgusted expression. “What?” “Chew with your mouth closed.” I roll my eyes. “And I-” I stop and think for a moment before continuing. “I just don’t want to lose because our team can’t get along.” I partly lied. I mean, I don’t want to lose because we lose first class. I also don’t want to lose because that means we have to send someone home, I don’t know who to choose. Or who everyone else will choose. “True but if we do lose can you promise me to vote for Sierra, please.” He leans his head back, taking another bite of his food and I laugh. “Sure, Cody.”
After going back to silence I go back to looking over at Courtney who’s scribbling things down now. Heather says something to her and her eyes light up. I wonder what was said? Courtney’s head then snaps in my direction and I quickly vert my eyes to my lap.
Later on in the day, I felt a tap on my shoulder as I was about to go get some food for Cody and I. He’s been too scared to leave his spot not knowing where Sierra’s gonna pop out from. “Hm?” I turn around to see Courtney with a huge grin on her face. I melted a little by her touch and smiled back at her. “Hey, [Name], we’re pretty good friends. Right?” Her head tilts and I glance around to see if this is some joke. Yeah we’re friends. Being in the same show for three seasons. I’ve always admired her but never had the guts to be besties or anything. “Uh… yeah, I guess?” I shrug my shoulders, going back to making the plates of food.
“So, you wouldn’t mind doing an itsy bitsy favor for me, would you?” She gets in front of me to stop me from getting my food. I raise an eyebrow. “Depends.” I simply exclaim.
“[Name] it might actually not be so, itsy.” She frowns, I wait for her to go on and she closes her eyes taking a deep breath. “Could you please pretend to date me to make Duncan jealous. Alejandro offered but it doesn’t feel right. Duncan was always jealous of you.” She explains her favor and my jaw drops, along with the food that I was just holding. Her smile falters a bit, and she goes to apologize. I put my hands up, covering her mouth to start laughing. “Duncan? Jealous of me?” I snort, “hilarious joke, Court. Seriously.” I pat her shoulder, bending down to pick up the mess I made.
“I am serious, [Name]. Please. I’ll do anything.” She begs at this point and I look up at her from the angle I’m in. “Anything?” I smirk. “Yes, I swear.” I then see Duncan entering the room, I grab her by the waist and lean down to act like I’m about to kiss her. Her hands laid on my chest in shock. I look up at the mohawk having  teen, acting surprised. “Oh, Duncan, what are you doing here?” I laugh awkwardly, still holding onto Courtney, not noticing how red her face is currently.
“What is going on here?” He furrows his brow and I clear my throat, now having the girl by my side, my hand still laid on her opposite hip. “What do you mean?” I quizz. “I mean, why are you kissing Courtney?” He asks more aggressively and I shrug my shoulders.
“Because I can.” I smile, “If you don’t mind we’re gonna go back to first class… together.” I wink, grabbing Cody’s food, walking back to the first class area with Courtney still right up next to me. Once we’re out of his sight, I let her go and she jumps up laughing. “That was amazing, did you see his face?!” She was practically talking to herself as I started walking again to go over to Cody. “Hey, wait. Where are you going?” She grabs the sleeve of my shirt, halting me from going anywhere.
“To give Cody his food and probably take a nap.” I look around confused, was I not supposed to go my separate ways after making Duncan jealous? “We have to make everyone think this is real, so Duncan doesn’t know it’s fake.” She crosses her arms, I laugh. She doesn’t but I couldn’t hold it in. “We never spoke before this, how are people going to believe it?” I point out, this is where she smirks.
“Back story, duh. If people ask, we will just tell them that we both pined for each other secretly and you finally mustered up the guts to tell me your feelings!” She explains so simply, my shoulders tense at the thought because a quarter of that is true on my end. Secretly pining after Courtney secretly since the beginning, I don’t even believe the situation I’m in right now.
“Oh, and you can’t talk to Gwen anymore. You’re mine.” She kisses my cheek and walks away leaving me flustered. I give myself a minute, taking a deep breath then going over to Cody, handing him his food in silence. “You good, you look happy but incredibly not yourself.” He takes a bite of a chip, I slowly turn my head to look at him eyes wide open. “I’m dating Courtney… I guess?” I then turn back to face forward, Cody’s jaw drops, so does his chip. “What!?” He shouts, earning a few looks and I shush him.
“I don’t know it happened so fast!” I whisper, clearly distressed.
“She was just crying over Duncan and now you’re dating!?” He was whispering now too, I rub my face aggressively, breathing in through my nose. “I guess! I have no idea man.” I hold my face in my hands.
“Wow, at least you got your girl.” He congratulates me but it doesn’t feel right since it’s not one-hundred percent the truth but he also doesn’t need to know that right now.
“Hey, [Name], come sit with me.” Courtney’s leaning over my seat and I look up at her, nervously grinning. “Okay…” I glance back to Cody who does a little nod as in okaying me to go. “You sure? Sierra might take my spot.” I remind him but he shrugs. “There’s nothing I can do about her at this point.” He sighs. I chuckle, ruffling his hair. “You’re the best, Cody.” I shoot up, taking Courtney’s hand and we go sit with Heather. I sit down normally and Courtney cuddles into my side. My whole torso is tense, not knowing what to do.
“You two are actually dating?” Heather questions us, I nod and Courtney smiles. “Yup, all mine.” She snuggles in closer, I didn’t even know we could get closer, but she manages to do it.
The next day, Courtney and I were all over each other, whenever eyes laid on us she did something to try and prove we’re a real couple somehow. Sometimes it felt too much. But I followed along, Duncan glared daggers through and if looks could kill I’d be 24 feet in the ground if he had it his way.
The next couple of days have been filled with Courtney using me to make Duncan jealous and as much as I know and understand this is to help her it’s really starting to bother me since it’s making my feelings grow stronger. It’s now hurting to know that this is not real and whenever she wants to we will end this and pretend nothing ever happened.
Thinking to myself, a person comes up to me, scaring me out of my zone.
“Hey, babe~” Courtney sings, plopping down next to me, I smile weakly at her. “Hey, Court.” I gave a short wave, her eyebrows furrowed. “What’s wrong?”
“Oh, just tired. Rough night.” I forced out a laugh but it was too obvious that it wasn’t real and I sigh, putting my head down. “You can talk to me. I might be your fake girlfriend but I still care.” She jokes with me and I nod but I don’t say anything, not knowing how to put how I feel into words.
I bite my lip, biting the dead skin off as I just blurt out words. “I like you.” I blurted out, and I’m shocked by my own words that left my mouth. “What?” Her face drops, I go to explain but she stands up, her hands on her hips. “[Name] this between us isn’t real, you know that. ” She exclaims loudly, I look around to see a few of our friends staring at us and I try to shush her.
“No, [Name], don’t shhh me!” She points a finger in my face. “I was only doing you a favor by being with you. This was to help me out and you really thought you’d get something out of this?” She gets louder and my heart rate quickens. “No- if you’d listen-” She cuts me off. “Don’t, I got what I wanted out of this. It’s done.” She storms off away from me. “I thought we were friends?” I questioned her, quiet enough for no one else to hear.
“Yeah to you, this was only for me to get what I wanted.” She scoffs, turning back around to face me again. My face contorts with different emotions and expressions. Mainly one: confused.
“Courtney, I’m seriously not understanding what’s happening.” I nervously laugh, she looks around and sees Duncan leaning against the wall then straightens her posture. “Like I said, we’re done, [Name].” She walks off over to the man and I hold onto my chest still feeling the thump of my heart.
I ran off to the bathroom, throwing up immediately. Not hearing the door open, someone rubs my back. “That was brutal.” A voice says but due to throwing up I can barely pay attention to anything except for the sound of my own gagging. Once it’s over I lean back onto the wall, flushing the toilet and looking up to see Cody, getting down to his knees to be leveled with me. “What was all that?” He asks and I shrug my shoulders.
“It was a fake relationship.” I laugh quietly, my throat is hoarse and I can still feel my heart. “What?” He questions me. “It was all fake, she asked me as a favor to make Duncan jealous. She was just a little harsh when I said I actually liked her.” I cough, scrunching my nose at the taste in my mouth. “I had some weird panic attack and the attention made me throw up though.” He stands up then helps me up afterwards.
His jaw clenches after he hears what I said. “She didn’t have to make a scene like that.” He comments but I just walk back to my seat. “It seemed like once she saw Duncan she didn’t finish what she had to say and left to join him.” I think back to how she looked at him and rushed over.
That night I didn’t eat, I didn’t talk and just cuddled into the seat, closing my eyes but not truly sleeping.
“Psst. [Name].” somebody shakes me, I mumble for them to go away but they don’t stop. “What?” I say in an aggressive tone but whispering since most of the others were also sleeping. “Can we talk?” It’s Courtney.
I stare at her, not responding back. My chest starts to hurt at the sight of her.
“Please, I’m sorry for earlier.” She pleads but I still don’t respond, looking at the ground. “[Name], I got hurt and Duncan wants me back. I went too far. It’s a reflex and I’m sorry.” She apologizes but I laugh dryly. “It was only meant to make him jealous, it wasn't meant to go that far.”
“You didn’t just do that to make Duncan jealous, you did it because you knew you could. You knew I liked you and you did it on purpose.” I say in a low tone, a hurt tone. A tone I don’t think she was ready to hear yet.
“I did you a favor and all it did was destroy me mentally. I thought I was helping someone I truly admired. Instead it was all a stupid game to you.” I stood up, meeting her eyes that were filled with tears.
“I didn’t think you actually liked me.” She whispers almost inaudibly.
“Well I don’t anymore.” I harshly say, walking away.
I voted myself out next time we lost, not wanting to be around her anymore.
It didn’t end with anyone getting a true explanation or an apology. Well Courtney tried but I kept thinking back to her words when she yelled at me. It overpowered every apology she gave me or things she gifted me to help me win.

My Favourite Total Drama episodes and why?
1. Backstabbers Ahoy! (TDROI)
I considered Total drama revenge of the island to be a fun season. While we are introduced to a new set of cast, they are just as good as the older ones. Backstabbers Ahoy! Is an episode that has that. Scott is the main antagonist for the season and we get to see his villainy with the ways in this episode. During the episode, somebody has been stealing stuff from both the toxic rats and the mutant maggots. Originally Scott was going to frame Brick whose been on both teams but ended up switching to Dawn whom was starting suspect Scott and his plans.
While switching from Brick someone who was on both teams to Dawn whose only been one. However it make sense to how Dawn is like as a character. Dawn doesn't steal things but because of how strange she is. They would suspect her to be one to do it unless evidence was provided. During the episode, Dawn is seen carry a trashbag so it would be perfect opportunity for Scott to frame her. Another thing like this episode is the comedic aspect of the toxic rat boys. In the last episode, Brick ended up being switch to the toxic and in this episode we see how he reacts to them and their own opinion on him as well.
2. Search and Do not Destroy (TDI)
This is the episode, where Heather is brutal towards Gwen in an emotional level. Heather has always target Gwen like reading her diary out to the entire viewing world in Not Quite Famous and when she ripped Gwen's skirt where everybody saw her underwear in Who can you trust? But this was takes the cake. Heather doesn't care about Trent and when her dispute with Gwen is more so the fact that Gwen doesn't seem to listen to her. The two have been mortal enemies since the beginning so Heather was going to do something. Heather’s reasoning for kissing Gwen's crush Trent isn't that much or a reach considering you want to make sure you and your alliance get to the finals, however it is malicious.
It's interesting to see where the keys and how the campers tried to get it. Izzy getting both her and Lindsay's key in different scenes is really funny and how Owen has to get his key from the bear is funny but the highlight is definitely that Geoff's key is in the skeptic tank than when he opens the chest, he gets cologne.
3. Anything Yukon Do I can do better (TDWT)
This is the episode, we see Alejandro playing his role as the villain and boy does he deliver. I think choosing Bridgette as the target before Leshawna and even Lindsay in Team Victory is a calculating but also when you think about. It's more so a test towards Bridgette herself. During the celebrity manhunt special due to Geoff getting a lot of attraction towards Female Fans and because whenever Geoff showed any attention towards the female fans (seirra was one of them), bridgette gets jealous. She could be thinking the worse than Geoff isn't loyal towards her.
In the previous episodes like walk like an Egyptain, you see bridgette being smitten with her. I think her saying that she has a boyfriend is more to remind herself but because of how insanely attractive alejandro is. She ends up believing herself that she doesn't have a boyfriend. I think the reason why Alejandro chose Bridgette is because she's more a weak link in her team. This is the episode where another team besides team Amazon doesn't win a challenge.
4. If you can't take the heat (TDI)
This was the episode that got me hooked on the show and this is probably the perfect episode that pretty much sums up season 1. Heather is a bitch to her teammates and thinks highly of herself? I hope she gets her karma. Duncan and Courtney seem to get on each other's nerve but have this chemistry? They are gonna get together. This is the episode where we see how the teams interact with each other. Killer bass aren't that great as a team but they are close as friends and Screaming Gophers while are stacked more than killer bass are dysfunctional and are basically in 2 or 3 cliques. This is also the episode where it shows a bit of Lindsay's arc by her disobeying her orders to give her the make-up bag.

Selfishness, Selflessness and Reciprocity
Or: An essay on why I think that Coderra has more potential as a relationship than people give it credit for.
As a foreword, I would like to say that this applies equally to romantic and platonic Coderra. Many of the building blocks for a romance are the same as those for a lifelong friendship. All I want, at the end of the day, is for Sierra to be happy.
Now you could alternatively call this essay “Cody’s tendencies in relationships and how that changes in Planes Trains and Hot Airmobiles” because the first item of focus here is his relationship with Gwen, and how and why it fundamentally doesn’t work. While Gwody is generally not well-liked as a relationship due to his creepy, entitled and stereotypical “nice guy” behavior, those aren’t the reasons why it doesn’t work. They’re effluences of the real core problem with his Cody’s behavior and that mentality, and I’m going to call it out right out of the gate: Cody is selfish.
For him, it’s never about what Gwen wants or who Gwen is as a person that matters. She is an object to be attained, an ideal girlfriend that will make him cool by being with him. His first notable interaction with her is making a pass at her during the talent show- he more or less thinks he can “get” her with a bit of flirting, without putting in the legwork of actually getting to know her. Compare this with Trent’s first major interaction with Gwen in The Big Sleep as a counterpoint. Watching this scene, what strikes me the most about how Trent conducts himself here is that there is no flirtatious undertones to his approach, no overt, eye-wagging, shit-eating-grin “hey babe, you’re so cool and I’m totally into that”. No, he just talks to her. Talks to her about whatever she wants to talk about, lets the conversation naturally go where it goes, and it gets her to open up, if only just a little. Cody, on the other hand, never does this with Gwen, he never understands this, and every interaction he has with her until Up the Creek, and then resuming in World Tour, is about trying to obtain her as an item.
In World Tour, his selfishness and desire to have Gwen reach new levels and really show how little he actually cares about her as a person. During the episode in Australia, Gwen acts hurt because Duncan is acting jealous of Alejandro “hooking up” with Courtney. Cody’s first instinct is to offer her his vote, but with the implicit subtext this game alliance is a means for him to hook up with her. Gwen is not actually hurt here, she’s playing him for a vote, but he doesn’t know that, he thinks Duncan has actually hurt her. She says to him “ Can you make the pain go away?” and he nods and tells her he’s there for her and that he’ll make everything better.
This is Cody at his absolute lowest. Here he is seeing someone he thinks is heartbroken and vulnerable and all his first reaction is to manipulate it to get into a relationship with her.
Now this may all sound very anti-Cody, and I certainly don’t apologize for or condone this behavior. But I also now move on to my next point, which is that it is a learned behavior which makes sense in the context of his upbringing, and that he has the capacity to change this behavior.
A bad childhood does not excuse bad behaviors as an adult, or even a young adult like Cody, but it does provide a level of understanding how and why he does the things he does. There is a substantial body of canonical evidence that Cody is a neglected child, manifested most famously and notably in the show by the revelation that his parents (nor anyone else for that matter) never once remembered his birthday in Awwwww Drumheller. Interestingly it seems the Dramarama spinoff has taken this idea up as well, with Cody having said “It feels like a mother’s warmth, or least, so I’ve been told” which in context seems meant to indicate that Cody is unfamiliar with motherly affection. But what he lacks in parental attention is made up for in material wealth- his TDI bio speaks of a plethora of the latest tech and gadgets paid for on his parents dime. This is where the root of his selfishness in dealing with Gwen comes from- having never received love in his life, only things, he can only conceive of a relationship as a thing to be had, not love to be shared between people. Because the latter concept is utterly alien to him. But it’s alien to him because this mentality is learned, taught by years of neglect and being spoiled. And what can be learned, can be unlearned.
Enter Planes, Trains and Hot Air Mobiles. It is all good and well to argue that Cody is the way he is because he is a victim of parental apathy and absence, but unless this amounts to meaningful change in his behavior, it is meaningless. Here we see that Cody in fact has the capacity to change and to be better than he was, and it’s in his relationship with Sierra that we first see this.
The Total Drama Jumbo jet has been demolished to smithereens, and at the epicenter of the destruction was Sierra. The episode begins with her eliminated, incapable of walking, buried under rubble and with most of those still present utterly uninterested in her plight. Cody, Alejandro and Heather are tasked with racing to Hawaii by whatever means they can find, but Sierra is left with no provisions for her return home. Let’s be clear here- Cody is supposed to get to Hawaii, not Sierra.
At this point in the game he’s only barely started warming up to her the last episode, and otherwise has rebutted her at every turn since the game began. She cannot move on her own, no matter what means he uses to travel she’s dead weight. With his chosen method of travel, the balloon, Cody can get farther and go faster if he goes alone. He has every logical reason in the world to be selfish here, from a competition standpoint.
And yet he doesn’t. He takes her with him, an act that I would argue is his first truly selfless act in any of his canon relationships with anyone. He gains nothing by bringing her along, or at least, nothing that is immediately apparent when they set off. He risks his victory in the competition to ensure she has someone to take care of and look after her. He prioritizes her needs and the urgency of her situation over his wants, and even his personal feelings for her at this moment- despite everything she has done to him that has made him feel violated and uncomfortable, by taking her with him he has forgiven her, and without words said that her life and wellbeing are worth more to him than his own feelings about their past. This does not absolve Sierra of responsibility for these acts, but Cody’s forgiveness is an important step in giving her the opportunity to atone for them. It is a profoundly mature moment for Cody, the most mature he has ever been in the entire series since Up the Creek.
Later on in the episode, something incredible happens. Something called reciprocity- an exchange of mutual benefit to all parties involved. And it’s when their hot air balloon has crashed and they are stranded in the middle of nowhere somewhere in North America, with no apparent means to continue the race. Along with a box of fireworks, Sierra motivates Cody with a rousing speech, and importantly tells him that “You want a number one fan? That comes with responsibilities!”
This is a first for Sierra, in that she is demanding something out of Cody’s side of the relationship. For all the time she has been on the show with him, she has taken care of him with no regard for getting anything out of it in return. She has saved his life at risk to herself numerous times, and while she exacted a toll in physical affection she had never previously called upon Cody to do anything for her, personally. Here that changes.
She demands that he continue the race not for his sake, but for hers, and for all the fans she represents. This transforms the act of continuing the race from a selfish one for Cody, into a selfless one, as he is no longer doing it out of self-interest, but to fulfill his obligation to his relationship with Sierra. And for the second time in the episode, Cody shows the ability to be selfless and consider the needs and wants of others. He is not a fundamentally self-centered person at heart, and his bad habits can be unlearned in the right circumstance with the right people.
It is this relationship that carries a feeble weakling and a crippled girl to the finale against all odds. It brings out the best in both of them and takes two people who on their own would have zero chance for success, and allows them to lift each other up and help each other move forward. This is the potential of Coderra, as a romance or a lifelong friendship. It’s only two, maybe three episodes where we see a glimpse of it, but I think that together they can be a little less broken and start to defeat their worst demons.

I’ve been rewatching Total Drama
I finished TDI and am starting episode 7 of TDA so I just finished Trent and Izzy’s aftermath and I have some thoughts mostly abut Gwen, Courtney, maybe Heather unsure about that and like ship things.
I forgot how cute Duncan and Courtney were in TDI. I really get that ship there it is definitely my favorite from that season.
Also I love season 1 Courtney she is so great, her leaving Duncan to get the million 10 out 10, hilarious. In Trent’s aftermath when she says she’s team Gwen because Trent is a loser... by choice, is iconic, I love her so much.
And Heather love that bitch, even though she like literally the worst in TDI and I don’t think I ever realized how much of a better person she is in TDWT then TDI until I rewatched and I really appreciate TDWT Heather alot more now. Also Harold just keeps trying to be friends with Heather and she just keeps shutting him down and I’m just so annoyed cause he’s the only one was even kinda likes her.
I still love Gwen, she’s still probably my favorite character, but like she kinda sucks at communication but teens so i guess it’s fine. And as much as I love Gwuncan, I think Gwen is better in the game when she’s not in a relationship.
So I’m talk about Gwen and Trent now cause I just don’t get them, like there kinda cute in season 1 but like the only thing I really remember is him supporting her in the last challenge and that was cute. But Gwen is pissed at him most of the time in season 1 like she’s very hot and cold with him. And like theyre awful in TDA. Trent is way too jealous of Gwen’s friendship with Duncan even though she tells him they’re just friends multiple times. And he’s so insecure and starts doing weird shit like throwing challenges and the brand thing plus when he trys to make her jealous with Lindsay. It really makes me dislike Trent as a character and I never really cared about him TDI at all. I also don’t get Trent blaming Duncan for their break up, like Duncan was fucking around he made a guess about the 9 thing and that wasn’t even why she dumped him. I also don’t feel bad about Trent getting voted off, he deserved it, he was throwing challenges. And I really don’t like the way the aftermath specifically paints Gwen negatively for dumping him and him getting voted off. 1) cause I’m with Geoff he was going to get voted off anyway- he was throwing challenges and his team knew. 2)She was allowed to dump him, he was creeping her out and like it’s very fair for her to choose to break up with him instead of try and work it out. Especially because she is a teenager and its really healthy to know that you can and should end things if you are feeling uncomfortable and starting to feel unsafe in a relationship. And he was being obsessive enough that is pretty likely that she wasn’t feeling super safe there.
Lastly I’ve been trying to think how I got to the point of shipping Gwuncan so much when I really did like and do like Courtney and Duncan. And now I think I got to the point of it surpassing Courtney and Duncan, mostly because Gwen’s my favourite character and I hate her relationship with Trent so much and I just wanted her in a good relationship that I liked so I shipped with Duncan. I also do think some shit happens in TDA that I don’t remember that makes me less about Duncan and Courtney, but we’ll see. Idk I really like that Duncan and Gwen’s friendship in TDA and that could be part of the shipping for me too.

It’s Courtney’s wedding day and she runs away with Duncan.
this probably isn’t anywhere near what you were looking for - i mean, it’s certainly not what i had in mind when i first started writing it, but i’m pretty proud of the way it turned out. either way, i hope you enjoy it :) read below the cut!
this can also be found on ao3 here.
It wasn’t supposed to turn out like this. None of it was. She hadn’t budgeted for mistakes; hadn’t budgeted for split-second decisions, nor for infuriatingly charming strangers.
Everything was planned, down to the very last minute. It would be a simple wedding - classic, traditional, and no-nonsense. Her dress was white and plain, flattering but not extravagant. The cake was three tiers in all, with pretty lace-patterned fondant. Vanilla. And vanilla frosting. White tablecloths, red roses, four bridesmaids and four groomsmen. It was symmetrical, it was organized; it was perfect.
She smiled at herself in the mirror, watching behind curled lashes as her sister finished up on the last curl. She raked her fingers through it, satisfied when it bounced into place, natural but not pretentious. Not a strand out of place.
Silence filled the room, heavy and demanding. She hummed along to the faint noise of the radio while her veil was pinned into place, hoping to avoid the questions she knew they all had.
“Are you sure you want to go through with this?”
Bridgette was shushed rather quickly, but the damage was done.
She stood, smoothing an invisible crinkle in the lap of her dress. Her smile was carefully crafted - meant to exude an air of contentedness, a mask to cover the nerves currently churning up her insides. She was glad, now, that Heather had insisted on one last tequila shot while she was still an unmarried woman. She’d need the courage.
“I love him.” Not at a lie.
She did love him. Always had. They’d grown up together - had first met as children, barely old enough to be in school, tailing after their parents at what had likely been a business meeting, but had been proposed as a playdate.
He’d flashed her that winning smile as she peered between her father’s legs, and she’d been sold. Had thrown a tantrum, in her own right, when it had come time for him to go home. The look on her nanny’s face when she had pouted, quivering lip and all, had been priceless.
Her father’s company went ahead with the plans to merge, and suddenly, they were seeing a lot more of each other. Birthday parties, company dinners - they rode it all out together. Having a familiar face in a sea of unfamiliar ones was a source of comfort. Having been sheltered her whole life, kept out of the public eye and away from the prying eyes of the media, he was a welcomed friend.
The first time a boy broke her heart, she cried to him. In turn, he confided in her. His older brother was the favorite; he felt neglected and alone - and he could talk to her. They could talk to each other. Neither of them could find that elsewhere.
Soon enough, they were both off to college. She was to be a lawyer, and he was preparing to take over the business. They kept in touch throughout it all, even as she made new friends, and found her place, away from home.
The rumors started slowly. A quick catch-up over coffee was branded ‘Childhood Friends Reconnect’; a dance together at a charity event became ‘Alejandro and Courtney: Heating Things Up?’
She didn’t quite know how to feel. Their parents were ecstatic; they could turn their business into a legacy, should they have children. Her college friends were jealous - “Courtney keeps all the pretty men for herself,” Heather would scoff, while Bridgette would only cast her a knowing glance. Everyone had made their minds up for them, without bothering to press for the truth. Alejandro, for his part, did little to dispel the gossip. Every time she tuned into a news channel he would be there, stoking the fires. “We’ve been friends our whole lives,” he told one reporter. “I could do worse,” he told another. There were no outright admissions, but he didn’t deny anything, either.
It shouldn’t have come as a surprise to her when he crashed her graduation ceremony, flashing her a flirty wink and making sure to kiss her cheek for the cameras. “Why don’t we give the public what they want?” He asked her, once they were in private. “I have dinner reservations tomorrow night. 7 o’clock. Black tie. If you’re dressed when I come to pick you up, I’ll have my answer.”
She was ashamed to admit that she’d gone with it. But she’d suffered rejection and heartache enough times to know better than to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Besides - he was the perfect candidate. He was handsome, she’d give him that, and she’d be lying if she said she wasn’t attracted to him. He was charismatic, and incredibly intelligent - he could whip up an argument and win it fast enough to leave anyone reeling in the aftermath. Her parents approved of him. As did her friends, and the media, and as much of the viewing world as bothered to pay attention to the lives of rich corporate kids. So she went along with it. Played the part of the complacent girlfriend, hanging happily off the man’s arm. She played the part so well that soon, not even she could tell fact from fiction.
He was kind. Charming. Treated her well. One glance from him had her melting. Dinner dates became something she looked forward to; holidays were easier, with him by her side. What they’d felt for each other as friends translated well into something more.
Maybe it was a pretty lie she told herself, to keep herself happy. And sane. But her future depended on this man - being with him allowed to control herself, in a way her father never would’ve allowed otherwise. Alejandro knew how ruthless he could be, how self-centered and cruel, and in turn, he allowed her to make her own decisions. To be her own person. Freedom was something she’d never tasted before, and she liked the way it felt on her tongue. No longer was she a pawn in her father’s schemes, surviving by bargaining her way out, and pushing back where she could. It was a fine line she’d been forced to walk, and she relished the chance to spread her wings.
She loved the freedom, and he seemed to be a part of the deal, so she loved him, too.
Gwen laid a gentle hand on her shoulder, startling her from her thoughts. A dangerous path, indeed.
Gwen was likely the only person in the room who knew how she really felt. All of it, not just the sugar-coated lies she told herself and everyone around her. She’d been privy to many a drunken call, when Courtney had known Heather would be too harsh and Bridgette would be too gentle. She needed someone to listen, not someone to coax her through it, nor someone to bring her to her senses.
The others cleared out of the room, and she turned, blinking rapidly to clear her eyes of tears before Gwen could notice. “I’m ready,” she reassured her. And she was. She was ready to be fully her own person, to finally have some agency in where she went and with whom she associated and what she wore, without her father breathing down her back, telling her it would reflect poorly on him; on the company.
She took a deep breath as Gwen, too, left the room. This was it. Once her father had given her away, she’d be clear. She only had to make it down the aisle, say those two words, and she’d be herself again. Just Courtney - nobody else. No expectations.
She carried herself with pride as she made her way towards the church doors, her train bundled up in her fists to keep it from dragging. There were ten minutes until the official start of the ceremony, and her father wouldn’t be there any sooner.
If he was anything, it was punctual.
“In a hurry, princess?”
She stumbled, knocked off-balance by the stranger’s sudden intrusion into her thoughts. He held out a hand, and she took it, holding it long enough to notice the calluses there, on his palm. The bite of cold metal from his rings was in stark contrast to the warmth of her skin, and she found her breath hitching as she steadied herself.
“A friend of Gwen’s, then,” she mused out loud, taking in his less-than-professional attire. Given the metal in his face and the green dye in his unkempt hair, wrangling him into a suit that was even semi-presentable had to have been a feat of sheer will and strength on Gwen’s part. “What makes you say that?” He asked, flashing her a smirk that sent her weak in the knees. Get it together, Courtney, she chided herself. You’re spoken for.
“Yeah, I’m a friend of Gwen’s. Her girlfriend couldn’t make it, so I’m the designated plus one.”
“Zoey,” she breathed, barely registering half of what he was saying. Like hell the redhead couldn’t make it. She knew Zoey well, and she knew she wouldn’t miss a friend’s wedding for the world. Unless Gwen had other plans, she realized, dark brown eyes widening with recognition.
She whirled upon the man before he had the chance to say more, thrusting an accusatory finger against his chest. “She thinks I’d like you,” she hissed, glaring daggers at him. “Wants me to call off the wedding.” He threw his hands up in defeat, a wicked grin blossoming across his stupid, scruffy face. “No idea what you’re talking about, snowflake,” - a glance at her white attire - “but Gwen seems to have hidden motives for almost everything she does. She’s cheeky, I’ll give her that.”
His eyes softened at the panicked way she moved, nerves and adrenaline combining to tell her to get the hell out of there, now. He gripped her arms so that she’d have to stop moving, just for a second, and really look at him. “I’m Duncan,” he told her, after a beat of silence. “And you’re looking a little too pale for my liking.”
He didn’t move - didn’t try anything, as if waiting for some sort of invisible cue.
It could’ve been the way he carried himself; cool, collected, confident, like he could do whatever he wanted and not worry about anyone stopping him. It could’ve been that she was already searching for an escape, subconsciously, at least, and the shock of seeing somebody so clearly out of place at her wedding was what finally shook her awake. But the tears she’d been holding back for so long fell freely then, and she looked at him, pleading, with a rawness she rarely showed.
“I can’t be here,” she told him, voice hoarse. She didn’t stop him when he took her hand, clenching it so tightly that his knuckles turned white. Didn’t question him when he pushed through those large oak doors, away from the guests waiting inside. She didn’t say a damn thing as he marched her down those stairs, a quiet intensity having replaced the nonchalant look he wore so well.
Never in a million years could she have planned for this. Here she was - a long ways away from the church where she was supposed to be getting married to a man she didn’t love, in a venue she had no attachment to. Her dress was muddy at the bottom, and her veil had come loose several blocks ago, but she couldn’t find it in herself to care.
“I’m free,” she called to the world, half chuckling as her hair whipped about her. She drank in the countryside flying past them, obscured as it was by the motorcycle helmet, wrapping her arms a little tighter around a man she’d never met before, going lord knows where.
He hadn’t saved her. She’d saved herself. He’d merely provided the opportunity.

Duncan’s Good Reputation?
Inspo credit and mad love to @stuckupwindbag your post about Duncan’s first PO becoming a monk totally inspired this. Then it turned into a 5+1 cause I’m a sucker for those things.
One-
Oddly enough, Courtney first finds it through a letter. She hadn’t meant to be snooping, but with their relationship beginning again, trust was a touchy subject. She can just hear her mother’s voice- “once a cheater always a cheater hun, don’t ever forget that.'' To be fair, he left the open letter in plain view. It was just sitting on top of his kitchen counter close to where she placed her car keys. She was only looking for her keys when she accidently ended up glancing at the letter. It was handwritten. She would only skim it.
Duncan,
Nice to hear from you personally instead of through your new parole officer asking for advice. Glad to see that you’re out of trouble nowadays. I always knew you had a golden heart. Speaking of advice, I gave you some that I know you took- Congrats on the outcome - I finally did listen to my heart as well. After some traveling I found my place on a mountain on a little island. I’m finally at peace and I’m happy. Never thought I would say this, but thanks for getting in trouble all those years ago. I wouldn’t be on top of the world if it wasn’t for you.
Much love,
Your old PO
David, a newly devote Monk
“Hey Princess, did you find your keys?”
She jumps as the voice and moves as far away from the counter. If he noticed she was acting weird, he didn’t say anything about it. Instead, he picks up her keys then tosses it to her. He smiles as he sees the letter.
“Thanks… I guess I’ll see you tomorrow morning?”
“Is it cool if we meet for an early lunch instead? I gotta mail David back.”
“You mean brunch? Sure… who’s David again?”
“Brunch is for pansies. He’s my old parole officer. Dude just became a monk, go figure.”
Confusion was written all over her face as she chose to ignore his brunch statement. She waits to see if he’ll elaborate, and surprisingly, he does.
“We met the first time I got out of juvie, he was meant to be a mentor to me sorta. It didn’t work out that way. I kept getting into trouble and he tried to help, but he couldn’t because of protocol. I didn’t really care, but it bothered the hell out of him. Right before I left for Island, I told him to quit his job and do some soul searching since he was so unhappy. Besides, I figured I’d win and I wouldn’t need him anymore. Guess he finally found his calling.”
Duncan shrugs it off like it’s no big deal, but Courtney knows there’s more to the story he’s not telling her. She doesn’t push for the details, just happily accepts that he opened up about a piece of his past.
Two-
She almost loses it when she finds him repeatedly liking the same girl’s post on Instagram. She decides to get information before confronting him. When she finds out the girl was an ex she was ready to kill him, until she reads through the comments. The first picture is of a selfish of this gorgeous blonde with blue eyes. The caption read: Your fav girl is back, and this time with a new username!
duncansthename: with love huh?
ashwithlove: you know it dunkie (;
The second picture wasn’t any better. The same girl is smiling at the camera in a bikini at the beach. The caption read: Sun’s out so your fav hun’s out!
duncansthename: you’re not very creative Ash.
ashwithlove: did you even read your own @?
duncansthename: lol same old Ashley
ashwithlove: back at cha asshole (:
The third picture is when she became curious instead of just angry. Another selfie except this time her hair was considerably shorter. The caption read: New hair, who dis?
duncansthename: geez who hurt you babe?
ashwithlove: *rolls eyes* says the guy who broke up with me through a text.
duncansthename: we were 13! I said sorry already, besides you were going to do the same thing.
ashwithlove: I know, I’m just teasing (:
The fourth and final picture she comes across is what finally gives her all the pieces. Ashley was smiling with her eyes and both hands up pointing at a rainbow. The caption read: Never been happier in my life than right at this moment.
duncansthename: guessing it went well then, congrats Ash
ashwithlove: I owe it to you dunkie! Thanks to you, I can be ash with love <3
duncansthename: don’t get all soft on me now, I don’t do that shit
ashwithlove: sure tough guy, maybe I should message your princess (;
duncansthename: stay away from my girl, you live on the other side of the world now anyways
ashwithlove: no promises, besides the heart knows not distance only love
duncansthename: you’re unbelievable
ashwithlove: I learned from the best (;
“Pizza’s here if you’re ready for a break Princess.”
Even though she was no longer jealous, she still wanted to make sure her assumptions were correct.
“Duncan, who’s Ashley?”
He doesn’t even flinch, a good sign since he all but jumped away when she confronted him about Gwen way back.
“She’s an ex girlfriend of mine. My first girlfriend actually.”
“Oh…”
“Don’t worry Princess, I’m not carrying a torch for her. Besides, she has a girlfriend now.”
“You’re not just saying that right?”
“No? That’s a dumb thing to lie about. If you met her, you would know. She’d hit on you instantly.”
“But you just said she has a girlfriend.”
“Her girl would probably hit on you too. You’re fucking gorgeous Court.”
She feels her cheeks warm up at his compliment. She still wasn’t used to him being sweet again, so she shrugs it off.
“Stop changing the subject.”
“Just being honest. Anyways, you just reminded me to reply to her message.”
“You still message each other?”
“Every now and then… She says hi… shit and now she’s FaceTiming.”
“Dunkie! Let me talk to your princess! I know she’s there!”
“No! I always knew you would try and steal my girlfriend after having your heart broken by me.”
“As if. You were the one left heartbroken after I came out to you.”
“Yeah yeah, whatever.”
“Okay, but for real. Thanks dude! I can finally be me now. It’s officially! Your fav girl is out and proud! Mom took it better than I thought and she’s going to meet Dana on Monday!”
“Told you she would accept you. Your mom loves you.”
“I know, thanks for listening though.”
“Anything for my first girlfriend.”
“Careful, I might actually hold you to that! I gotta go, but double date soon?”
“You live in London!”
“So? Okay I really gotta go! Bye Dunkie! Tell your princess I said hi!”
Ashley hangs up on the call leaving Duncan slightly annoyed, but not really. He was about to apologize to Courtney, but she stops him. There was no need, besides the pizza was getting cold.
Three-
If being on a reality show taught Courtney anything was that she shouldn’t be surprised at anything. Still, she was caught off guard when she bumped into Chef Hatchet on her daily run through the park. She was even more thrown off when she sees that he’s not alone. He had six kids with him. He lets them take their hands off the walking rope as long as they promise to stay within the playground. The children all nodded yes then ran off towards the slides and swings.
“Courtney? Is that you?”
“Chef? What are you doing here?”
“Just taking the daycare kids on an outing. They’re repairing our playground, so I thought it would be nice to take the kids to the park.”
“Daycare kids?”
“Yeah! I’m a daycare teacher now.”
She must be in an alternate reality, there’s no way Chef Hatchet could be around children voluntarily. Especially with half the shit he helped pull on Total Drama, no sane person would hire the man.
“I can see you’re confused, but this is my true calling!”
“No offense Chef, but are you okay? Do I need to take you to the hospital?”
“I’m perfectly fine, Courtney. I thought Duncan would have told you already.”
“Duncan?”
“Yeah, he was the one to convince me I needed to do something different.”
“Wait, Duncan told you to quit and you actually listened?”
“He gives pretty good advice, that kid’s a good listener. I’ve never been happier.”
“What exactly did he say to you?”
“Just that even I deserve to be happy and to give it a chance.”
One of the kids starts crying and Chef is immediately on the move. It’s a strange sight, but Chef is extremely patient with the child and soon the little one is off running again. Who would have thought?
Four-
Courtney was ready to go grab her second cup of coffee when her phone buzzes. It was a text from Heather. She was going to ignore it until she saw that her boyfriend’s name was mentioned.
Heather: I just wanted to say I’m sorry. Pass that message to Duncan. He still has my number blocked.
Courtney: How do you even have my number? Also why were you texting Duncan?
Heather: Your boyfriend’s the one who gave it to me. Also that’s none of your business.
Courtney: You made it my business when you texted me. What did you do?
Heather: I didn’t do anything… okay fine I bitched him out for being nosy.
Courtney: Um… what?
Heather: He was butting in on my relationship with Alejandro again.
Courtney: Are you sure we're talking about the same Duncan?
Heather: Okay fine. I may have bothered him about my relationship.
Courtney: … and why would you do that?
Heather: He’s honest and he’s not afraid to tell it to my face even if he knows I’ll get angry.
Heather: Look, just tell him I’m sorry and that Alejandro and I are okay now.
Duncan picks her up after work and she immediately wants to bring up the messages. She waits until they’re back at her place to say anything.
“How was work Princess?”
“Fine… um… so Heather says she’s sorry?”
He raises an eyebrow at that. He wasn’t expecting that either apparently.
“I told her to only talk to you in case of emergencies. I should have never given her your number, sorry Court.”
“Normally I would be angry, but I’m just curious now.”
“Heather’s been picking fights with Alejandro because she’s afraid of commitment. She found out we got back together, so she asked me how we did it. I told her that she was being stupid and that he clearly loves her. Somehow I end up listening to her break up and get back together with him only to break up again. This was only last month too.”
“Well, I guess they’re back together again. She told me I should tell you that too. Is that why you blocked her? Cause she was being too annoying?”
“No. She obviously loves the guy, she just needed someone to slap some sense into her. I’m surprised she apologized though.”
“Me too, guess she’s really changed. Are you going to unblock her? I think she genuinely feels bad.”
“She should after what she said.”
Courtney waits patiently to see if he would tell her, and just like last time, he does. There were no secrets between the two. Duncan just had a bad habit of forgetting to tell her things that he didn’t think was important.
“She said some shit about you and I got pissed.”
“Typical. Well I don’t care what she thinks. I can’t believe she would talk about me and expect me to help her.”
Her phone buzzes and she can’t help but roll her eyes at the message. It was from Heather again, unbelievable.
Heather: By the way, you’re both invited to my engagement party.
Five-
Courtney learned long ago that she could only count on herself. She learned that the hard way after she started drifting apart from her sister and her parents were no help. Admittedly, part of it is her fault too. They were always interested in different things, it was hard to find common ground.
Things started to change on her birthday. She gets a call from Cate and maybe it’s because they’re older now, but they reconnect. She’s grateful that she at least has one family member she can count on.
The two sisters become inseparable and they tell each other everything. Today was no different.
“I can’t stand him sometimes, but I love him.”
“He’s a good guy Court. You know, I still haven’t thanked him yet.”
“Thank him for what?”
“For bringing us together.”
“What are you going on about Cate?”
“While mom and dad were going through their divorce he reached out to me and asked how I was doing. He told me that you didn’t take it very well and he suggested that we talk about it. I put it off for months. I didn’t know what to say, but then it was your birthday and I knew this was my chance to say something without it being totally awkward. Now here we are.”
“He did that?”
“He did. He really loves you big sis. You picked a good one.”
She smiles at that. It’s true. She didn’t fall for a bad boy after all.
A bonus-
She used to think he ruined her life, turns out he made it so much better. Well, until now.
She almost hangs up at him when she got the phone call. The only reason she didn’t is because her stupid heart told her she still loves him. She really should’ve expected this. He went to juvie, he had a record, why wouldn’t he end up in jail again?
“Princess are you still there?”
“You wanna tell me why you’re locked up? Again!”
“How was I supposed to know I wasn’t allowed to walk inside?”
“The door was locked and it was someone else’s home!”
“Well they need a better security system, that was way too easy.”
“I’m going to hang up on you.”
“Wait! I’m kidding. Sorry, can you please just come bail me out.”
“I’ll think about it.”
She hangs up the phone then screams into the closest throw pillow. It was supposed to be their date night and now her date was in jail. He is never going to hear the end of this once she bails him out. She was all dressed up and now she was going to waste it by going to a detention center.
She was still fuming as she gave the address to the Uber driver. She didn’t even notice that she had arrived until the driver told her so. Except she was definitely not where she needed to be. She was in a neighborhood with nice houses up and down the block. Duncan must’ve given her the address of the house he broke into instead. Great. She was just about to figure out how to call Duncan back when the phone rings again.
“Are you here yet Princess?”
“I thought you only get one phone call.”
“I took another guy’s turn. Where are you at?”
“I’m at the house you tried to break into. You gave me the wrong address!”
“Shit. Sorry, it’s right down the street. Just cut across the park and you should be there.”
“You’re in so much trouble when I get there!”
She had to take a deep breath and calm herself before she started walking. He is so lucky she loves him.
When she enters the park, bright lights catch her attention. She wants to look away, but the path is along the lights. She stops when she reaches the bridge. There he was standing in the middle smiling at her. She heads toward him already asking a bunch of questions, but he doesn’t answer any of it. Instead he pulls her close and kisses her. When her eyes open he’s kneeling on the ground with a ring.
“Courtney, I love you. You’re my favorite girl and I know that everything that happened in my past lead me to you. I know I can be myself around you and still be accepted. We have our ups and downs, and I know I don’t deserve you, but I love you. There’s no one else I can count on without fear of judgement. You’re my princess, marry me?”
“Yes! Of course it’s a yes! I love you too and that’s all that matters.”
She brings him up to kiss him again then he slips the ring on her finger. It fit perfectly.
“You know, you really had me worried.”
“I’m not dumb enough to get caught. I left that life behind me anyways.”
“No, not that. I was worried that you were going to lose your good reputation.”
“Did I scare you that badly? My reputation is anything but good Court.”
“Oh I don’t know Dunkie, I think there are a few people who would say otherwise.”
A/N- There probably could’ve been a better title... anyways, 5 times Courtney finds out Duncan changes someone’s life for the better and the one time he changes her life for the better. (Alternatively you can say that she changes his life for the bonus as well).

Trent x Reader: Treat You Better (highschool AU)
You were walking down the halls of Wawanakwa high along with your boyfriend Topher.
As you were grabbing your stuff from your locker, he was flirting with Amy. You sighed as you looked at yourself in the mirror. "Am I not pretty enough? What's wrong with me"? You wondered.
You shut your locker closed and headed to 5th period without Topher. You sat at your normal spot and waited for class to start. "Hey y/n"! You hear Trent say as he entered the classroom and sat next to you. "Hey Trent"! You smiled.
You and Trent are childhood friends. When you were both 5, he moved into your neighborhood and you guys have been inseparable ever since. But when you started dating Topher during your sophomore year, you didn't really get to spend a lot of time with Trent because you were focusing on your relationship with Topher.
"So, am I gonna see you at the spring carnival this weekend"? He asks. "I don't know, I might have to ask Topher if he's going". You say. Trent frowns at you. "Okay then". He says.
"Y/N! You were supposed to wait for me"! Topher exclaims. "Sorry babe, I didn't want to be late". You say. "Well, that better not happen again". He said. "Sorry". You said.
"Your in my spot". Topher snarled at Trent. "Sorry dude". Trent says and sits at another seat.
As class went on, Topher kept glaring at Trent. You took your boyfriend's hand, but he brushed it off making you frown.
"Okay class, as you know, there will be a open note quiz tomorrow so I expect you to have your well detailed notes with you when you enter class tomorrow". Said Mr. Howard
As the bell rang, everyone quickly got out of their seats, ready to leave. "Nope! The bell doesn't dismiss you, I dismiss you"! He says.
"No! The bell doesn't dismiss me! It dismisses you". Said Duncan. "I don't dismiss the bell, you dismiss the bell". Said Heather. "I don't dismiss you, I dismiss the bell". Said Topher.
"I am the bell". Lindsay says. Everyone looked at her. They all laughed and started to leave the class room. "What just happened"? The teacher muttered as he cleaned the board.
As everyone was headed to lunch, you ran up to your boyfriend. "Hey babe, are you going to the spring carnival this weekend"? You ask him. "Yeah, I'm going with Amy and her friends". Said Topher. Your heart dropped as you heard Amy's name come out of his mouth. "Oh". You said. "Nothing personal babe. You understand right"? He asks. You nodded in response.
"Speaking of Amy, I'm joining her for lunch today". Said Topher. "Again? This is the 3rd week you've been sitting with Amy"! You complained. "Why are you being whiny? It's just Amy"! Topher says. "We rarely spend time together"! You said. "So? I never complain about you sitting with your friends. Especially with Trent. Anyways, I promise you we'll do something fun together tonight". He says. "Fine". You say.
He kisses your cheek and goes to Amy's table. As he talks to her, she smirks at you. "Hey, Y/N"! You looked behind you to see Trent waving at you. "Hey, Trent". You say. "Wanna go off campus and get some pizza"? He asks. "Yea sure, I've nothing to do". You say. "Great, I'll drive". Said Trent.
As you ate your pizza, you couldn't help but wonder about your feelings for your boyfriend. "What's wrong Y/N"? Trent asks. "It's nothing". You say as you take another bite out of your pizza. "I highly doubt it. It's about Topher isn't it"? He asks. "No"! You said.
"If I'm being honest, he's not being a good boyfriend". He says. "Excuse me"? You raised your voice. "Think about it Y/N, he keeps flirting with Amy and manipulating your feelings". Said Trent. "Topher is not manipulative! He cares about my feelings". You yelled.
"If he cared about your feelings, he wouldn't be sitting with Amy everyday and play with her hair. Come on Y/N be realistic". Said Trent.
"I am being realistic, your just being jealous and petty because Gwen dumped you for Duncan". You yelled. "This isn't about me! This is about you, Y/N! I care about you"! Trent yelled.
"Well if you cared about me, then you would leave me and Topher alone"! You yelled. You ran off leaving Trent speechless.
You were at your last period of the day, Theatre. You were staring at the clock, waiting for school to end and for the weekend to start.
"Alright, let's play the alphabet improv. You know the rules. Your line has to start with a letter from the alphabet, and it's in alphabetical order (I stole this from Victorious, idk how to explain it). If your line isn't in the right order, you are out". Mr. Leonard says. "I wanna be leader"! Amy says.
"Amy, choose your actors". The teacher says. "I pick, Lindsay, Heather, Noah and Topher". Said Amy. Topher gave you a kiss on the cheek and headed up stage with Amy. "Okay let's begin! Lindsay, you may go first". The teacher says. "Look a bee"! Lindsay exclaims. "OUT"! The teacher exclaims. "Awwww". She says as she heads back to her seat.
As the game continues, it was down to Amy and Topher. "Head feels dizzy". Said Topher. "I know what will make you feel better". Said Amy. "Jackfruit"? Topher asks. "Kiss me". Said Amy. Those words caught your attention. "Let's do it". Said Topher. He cupped Amy's cheeks and kissed her passionately making your heart break in two. As the bell rang, you ran out of the classroom in tears. Topher noticed and ran after you.
"Y/N why did do run out of the classroom"? Topher asks. "What do you think"? You sobbed. "Oh com'on it was just a kiss"! Topher says. "Why are you being so jealous"? He asks. "Because you don't look at me the same way you look at Amy"! You shouted.
"Well maybe Amy might be a better girlfriend than you". Said Topher. You went silent. "What"? You said. "It's over Y/N. Don't take it personal". Topher pats you on the head and leaves.
You ran up to your room crying, not caring about your parents hearing you sob. "Y/N, what's wrong sweetie! Did something happen at school"? Your mom asks. "Topher left me"! You yelled. "I knew he was trouble, I'm gonna sue him"! You father said. "Honey, calm down, let's give Y/N  some alone time". Your mother says.
It's been a day since Topher broke up with you. You poured out your heart and soul into the relationship for two years, and now it's gone down the drain.
Your mom knocks on the door. "Sweetheart? She says. "Go away"! You groaned.
"I know you want to be alone, but someone's here to see you". You mom says. You say up on your bed, wondering who it could be.
Trent entered your room with 2 bags full of snacks and a gallon of sprite. "Hey Y/N. I heard about what happened". Said Trent. "And you came here to rub it in". Said Y/N. "No of course not! I came here to cheer you up. I have your favorite snacks and soda". Said Trent. "Thanks Trent". You said. He puts it on your vanity and sits on your bed.
"I'm sorry about Topher. He shouldn't have dumped you like that". Said Trent. "Well, it's over, he's probably screwing Amy right now". You said. "I have an idea. The spring carnival is tonight! It'll take your mind off of him"! Said Trent. "I think I'll skip this year". You said.
"Y/N! We never skipped it! It's our little tradition"! Trent exclaimed. "That's also where I met Topher". You said.
"Screw Topher! We're going! I'll be back to pick you up in an hour, and you better be ready". Trent says as he left your room.
"I guess it's for the best, I mean, it's been a while since I actually hanged out with Trent". You thought. You got out your bed and started getting ready.
1 hour later....
You grabbed your phone and your bag and headed out the door. "Mom! Dad! I'm gonna be with Trent"! You said. "Okay, be home by 11"! Your dad called out.
You saw Trent in his red motorcycle, parked near the driveway. "Hey! You ready to go"? Trent asks as he tosses you a helmet. "Yep! Let's do this". You say as you put it on.
Moments later...
Trent parked his motorcycle near the entrance. You both went inside and looked at all the games. "Wow! The place hasn't changed". You said. "Well, what do you want to do first"? Trent asks.
For the past two hours, you guys have spent money on games and food. You both made a bet on who would wins the most games.
"I win"! You exclaimed. "I guess I have to buy you lunch for the rest of the week"! Said Trent. "Yep"! You said popping the P. Trent went to the food stand and bought you some popcorn.
"Man this is fun"! You said as you stuffed some popcorn in your mouth. "Told ya, wanna go on the Ferris wheel"? Trent asks. "Sure". You responded.
You both left your stuff at a locker, and head on the Ferris wheel. "Wow, look at the view"! Said Trent.
"Remember you used to get so scared and you held my hand the whole time"? You teased. "Well, I'm not scared anymore"! Trent says. "Then why are you shaking"? You asks. "Because it's cold". Trent said. "Uh huh, okay". You laughed.
"Can I hold your hand? Not because I'm scared, but because it's really cold". Said Trent. "Alright". You said holding your hand out.
Trent grabs your hand and relaxes. "Thanks for tonight Trent". You said. "Anything for you". He smiles. As the cart reached the top of the Ferris wheel, Trent took a deep breath and looked at you. "Y/N I gotta confess something". Said Trent. You looked at him and smiled. "What is it Trent"? You ask.
"I'm in love with you. I have since Sophomore year! I was gonna confess that year at the carnival, but that's when you met Topher and you looked really happy, and I didn't want to destroy that! I dated Gwen so I could get over my feelings for you, but it never did. I know you just got out of a relationship, but I just you to know that I can treat you better than he can. I understand if you don't feel the same". Trent confessed.
"Trent, I feel the same way. I thought I was happy with Topher, but tonight made me realize I was more happier with you". You said. "So will you be mine"? Trent asks. "Of course". You smiled. Trent caressed you're cheeks and leaned in and kissed you. His lips felt warm and soft. He put his arm around and kissed your head. "I promise to treat you like a princess". He said.
It was 10:30 pm and you both decided to head home early. As you head towards the exit, you heard two people arguing, catching both of your attention.
You both saw Amy and Topher yelling at each other. Everyone gathered around and started filming the scene before them.
"YOU WERE FLIRTING WITH DAKOTA YOU TWO TIMING WOMANIZER"! She yells. "Well, I saw you flirting with Scott"! Topher yelled in defense. "Well it's not my fault I'm pretty"! Said Amy. "It doesn't matter, you are so cancelled Topher"! Amy adds.
She walks to the pie stand and grabs a pie. She walks back to where she was standing before and threw it at Topher's face. Everyone laughed at him as Amy and her friends walked away.
As Topher wipes the whipped cream from his eyes, he sees you and Trent together.
"Y/N! Hey"! He runs to you. "Ummm, hi Topher". You say.
"Listen, you were right about Amy, I'm sorry I didn't listen to you, I promise to be a better boyfriend for now on. So what do you say, you and I get out of here and head to Denny's". He says.
You looked at him and scoffed. "Wow, bold of you to assume I'd get together with you just like that". You snickered.
"What? Why don't you want to get back with me, I mean I am the most charming after all". Ha says.
"I poured my heart and soul into our relationship and you didn't even notice. You flirt with other girls, making me feel insecure about myself. And you never care about me or how I felt. So yeah, no thanks". You said. "And by the way, I'm with some else who is more charming and caring than you". You added.
"Oh really, who's more charming than me, Alejandro"? Topher asks sarcastically.
You turned to Trent and kissed him passionately. Trent kissed back as he wrapped his arms around your waist. As you pulled away, you hugged your boyfriend and smirked at Topher.
"Fine, but don't come crying to me when he leaves you"! Topher says as you and Trent walk away.
"Oh, I don't think that's gonna be a problem". You says, making Trent smile.
