Because let me tell you, when listening to Jay's grandma talk on the shell about the Black Sea project, I was extremely confused why the fuck she mentioned her son.

"The machine is stable. My son is stable..."

I originally thought of Jayson. Made sense to me, the guy was really pissed the last time we saw him and I sometimes forget that Drey is also a Ferin, so stable in my mind was mental health wise. Then I was thinking about it, and realized her son's mental health had nothing to do with the project so why the fuck would she mention it in her log. AND THEN my brother (who recommended JRWI to me) that had the "oh shit it's probably Drey" moment and honestly, he's probably fucking right!

Drey, who has memory problems. Drey, who can't use his arms. Drey, WHO HAS BEEN THERE THE WHOLE TIME!

And with Dopple Gillion, we know that the clone has some of the memories of the other person and the somewhat the same abilities, so it makes sense that we wouldn't know Drey was a fake, if he is a fake.

I still kinda think it might be Jayson. The clones can be somewhat manipulated. If the real Jayson was dead/dying, it would make sense that his mom would just clone her son. The perfect soldier. I mean, the guy had been away from his family for a long time. If he came back weird, no one would notice.

Either which way, Jay's fucking grandma experimented on one of her son's. One of the Ferin boys aren't real.

also also, abt the helmet thing, Charlie described the baggage behind the entire tree scenario was Gil basically worrying that his existence was fake because the entire thing he was raised to follow and believe in was fabricated by other people for their own gain

And Grizzly described the way the helmet worked was removing any negative emotions or feelings about that specific memory, learning about the true prophecy

I don't really think this is a bad thing if I'm being completely honest

It doesn't say it gets rid of all of the character development, contrary to what I first thought

He is still aware that his existence was fabricated and his childhood was a lie and anything else, but I feel like this might allow him to accept that instead of perpetually aggravating an open wound

The cuts from the knowledge he gained are still fresh, still recent

Allowing it to muffle any negative feelings is most likely not healthy, but he still has come to the conclusion that he shapes his own destiny, no matter what feelings it removes from him

It doesn't reverse that knowledge or that revelation, not at all

I think it might just help him accept the fact that maybe the elders weren't entirely true, and maybe the prophecy wasn't entirely right, and maybe his childhood wasn't entirely healthy

Because yeah, it hurts

But no wound stays open forever

It will scar over, one way or another

Whether you want it to or not.

JRWI Riptide 114 Spoilers

So we you know that moment when dopplegil says i’ll make sure to give the real Jay my regards or something like that. If that is true and Jay isn’t the real Jay then it’s likely that she is a clone like how Gillion was.

But a clone of who? Ava fucking Ferin.

It makes sense especially when you remember how Lizzie said you look so much like your sister and besides the fact that they aren’t twins. (i know this evidence is a bit iffy)

But also from what we know from the Fay Ferin call thing is that she isn’t afraid to experiment on her own family.

I’m not sure exactly why she was younger than Ava maybe the tech wasn’t as good at the time and they were testing it.

I mean Jayson Ferin was a pretty young father maybe the same thing happened with him aswell.

Also it might give reasoning as to why the Navy would shoot at her if they could just make more clones.

So to think about the implications. The Navy has Jay/Ava’s genetic material which could mean that they can make more. Or they could use Ava’s genetic material and clone/remake her with her memories which means we could get Ava back.

But thats just a theory

He dies, is in a pool of blood for 8 hours, sees cat eyes in the sky, hears the number "eight", and wakes up, fully alive.

He totally just used his first life, which begs the question, is this a royal family thing, or an Emizel thing?

Does Shilo have nine lives, does the Queen?

Maybe the Queen is alive, not because the Grimslayers didn't kill her, but because she got back up (I know she's not confirmed dead or alive, but a girl can hope)

Or maybe the Queen already used all her lives, and is dead.

thinking about how doomed chip and arlins reunion is. like. even not including all of the corruption and stuff implied to be happening with the hole in the sea. chip was around 9. a 9 year old who thought the world of arlin, and how can you live up to the expectations of a child who thinks the world of you, one who has had a decade to build you up in their mind.

and on the other side. arlin remembering a small boy who was a bit mischievous at worst, now stood in front of him ten years older, with countless scars, not even breathing. completely unrecognisable.

Triton Seawing light language lmao

I've had this theory/headcannon/idea for a while that, like the Seawings from wof, tritons are bioluminescent

While in bright lights, like the surface during the day, the patterns are practically invisible and don't glow at all, but during the night they seem to naturally illuminate

Of course, the trench which is the equivalent to the bottom of the ocean is much darker than simply the oversea at night, so the patterns only really glow in really really dark areas

And I know that Triton's can speak underwater as if they were above water but I imagine the further down you go the pressure (even though tritons are kinda built for that) messes with your vocal cords and the way the sound travels

So over time, tritons would learn to flash specific patterns in specific orders in order to mean certain things

Maybe if you flare out your fins and flash the patterns across them it could mean "here" or "come"

The patterns around the eyes would probably mean "see" or "watch/look"

I am a firm believer that the crown that Gil has is special to him and him only, but in the case that it isn't maybe illuminating the coral could mean "royalty" or "King/queen" or even "silence"

Though, at the same time, primordial and aquan are both languages kind of built for deep water so I feel like those would work as well

(speaking of which, recently I've been seeing videos of people chanting native or historical or generally really old songs or tunes in other languages, do you think the tritons would have anything like that in primordial? Or even aquan?? And what would the lyrics of the chanting entail? Probably something about the ancient leviathans or the gods and probably the cycle of life and death)
