Yknow it’s funny that in Castlevania lore, Quincey has a son named John, whose own son is named Jonathan… So you’ve got a kid named after Seward, and another after Jonathan Harker!

(I know we call him Jack Seward but his actual name is John Seward; Jack is just to better differentiate from Jonathan.)

So between those two and Quincey Harker, it’s as if the crew of light has been naming their kids after one another! Also in Castlevania lore is the existence of a Lucy Seward, who was betrothed to John’s friend (around his age). So I HC that Seward had a daughter he named in honor of poor Lucy, though alas Lucy Seward ended up suffering the same fate of being turned into a vampire (by Dracula’s niece) and having to be mercy-killed by her aforementioned fiancée Eric Lecarde. Damn, no wonder the game that established most of this lore was called Castlevania Bloodlines…

I have mixed feelings what I recently learned re: Charlotte Aulin being a Belnades.

On the one hand it feels a little creatively shallow to have the hero’s magician friend be from the same clan as the other protagonists’ other magician friends

On the other hand it’s really funny. I suppose that Trevor and Sypha inadvertently doomed their families to be stuck with each other for the entire rest of time. There’s a Belmont? There’s a Belnades! Even the Belmonts’ weird American cousins have the Belnades’ weird American cousins around to bicker/cooperate with. Even all the way out in the year 2035, what do you know, there’s Julius Belmont and Yoko Belnades! That’s six centuries after Trevor and Sypha! One marriage and these two clans just cannot escape each other!

Jonathan Morris

18 years old

A descendant of the Morris family, who inherited the legendary Vampire Killer. Although he is a hot-blooded and positive person, he doesn't show it too much and looks relaxed, so he is usually considered a not serious person. His father has passed away, and he still isn't over it. His catchphrase is "No problem!"

Charlotte Aulin

16 years old

Jonathan's childhood friend. She has a wealth of knowledge, but she makes many mistakes due to her lack of experience. However, she's very skilled in magic, and she possesses so much magical power that she is called the ultimate weapon for subjugating Dracula. Although she is younger than Jonathan, she is level-headed and a good partner to support the emotional Jonathan.

Stella

21 years old

Brauner's vampire daughter, the older twin. Her overbearing demeanor and extravagant costumes leave a cold impression. Swinging a sword at great speeds, she stands in the way of Jonathan and Charlotte, who oppose her father.

Loretta

21 years old

Brauner's vampire daughter, the younger twin. She looks more docile than Stella, but her cold, condescending demeanor is the same as her older sister's. She specializes in ice magic and, with Stella, blocks Jonathan and Charlotte's path.

Brauner

Age unknown

The lord of the resurrected Castlevania, and a man who deeply loves the sisters Stella and Loretta. During World War I, he became a vampire out of despair against humanity. Because he was a painter when he was a human, he puts magic into his paintings and uses that power.

Wind

A vampire hunter who was killed by Brauner in vain. In order to defeat Brauner, he became a spirit and stayed in Castlevania. He teaches Jonathan and Charlotte the techniques and magic he cultivated during his lifetime.

Vincent

32 years old

A priest sent by the Church to support Jonathan and Charlotte... although, due to financial difficulties of the Church, tools are provided for a fee. Despite his appearance, he has a strong business spirit.

Death

A loyal subordinate who stands by the Dark Lord Dracula. Castlevania has been revived, but Dracula has not, so he wanders around the castle while plotting something. It doesn't look like he's fighting alongside Brauner and the others...

I always thought this song gave me Quincey Morris vibes…

Fun fact! Compared to so many more straightforward adaptations of Dracula, the Castlevania games actually pay Quincey their due respect by making him a canon character in the lore! His lineage is the Morris bloodline, who are relatives to the Belmonts, and help take their place fighting Dracula and his forces!

Two games, Bloodlines and its sequel Portrait of Ruin, star a Morris as the main protagonist; The former having Quincey’s son John Morris, the latter debuting his grandson Jonathan Morris! Just like Quincey, John is a cowboy who ultimately dies protecting humanity against the forces of the night, while his son Jonathan survives by proving himself as worthy in the eyes of the Vampire Killer whip as the Belmont clan, its intended wielders! Grandfather, son, and grandson each slew Dracula upon his cyclical resurrection, saving the world thrice.

Hair Color Pie Chart for Playable Castlevania Characters

In whole numbers, we have 7 black-haired characters (12.5%), 7 brunettes (12.5%), 13 blondes (23.21%), 12 white-haired characters (21.42%), 6 redheads (10.71%), 5 classified as other (8.83%), and 6 without or with unidentifiable hair (10.71%). Thanks to Stocke's video, I was able to put this together. I only used the character's artwork in their playable games though.

I did this because I was really curious what the ratio might be for the character's hair colors. As expected, most had white or blonde hair lol. Clearly, Kojima, Igarashi and whoever designed Nathan really liked protagonists with light colored hair.

Regarding the characters categorized as other; Simon has blue hair in Haunted Castle, Eric has green hair in addition to his blonde in Bloodlines artwork, the Lecarde sisters have purple-ish??? hair in PoR, and Carrie has blue/icy blue hair in 64/Legacy of Darkness.

I didn't know what the hair colors for Grant and Shaft are, so I just grouped them together with the "no hair" group. Sorry TT^TT I didn't want to add another category for "ambiguous colored hair".
