OH MY GOD WAIT!!

Sorry but I just now realized something and it blew my mind. I was watching Outlander interview videos on the official Instagram page and one was with some of the new cast members for the new season. One of the guys voices and his face was SO familiar to me but I couldn't place where I knew him from. Then it clicked.

His Mother wasn’t the first person his Father was with.

John had to hide away in his room after his mother left with Bobby. The revelations of his father’s past hadn’t set in until they got back to Toronto. He followed his father and found out that he had answer the call of a woman that left him years ago. She had a daughter. His Daughter. His father had a daughter before he was with Mother and had them. He had an older sister.

He learned, adamantly from both sides, that his Father hadn’t known about this woman. She had left to avoid ruining her father’s life. A ginger man having a mixed daughter? It would have destroyed his future, even if he wanted to do the right thing. And his Father would have, if he had known. He wouldn’t have given it a second thought, just as he hadn’t going out there to help a woman that left him twenty years earlier. That’s why she hadn’t told him, until her daughter disappeared and the police did nothing to find her. Because they were working with the man that was harassing her and managed to get them to turn.

At least his sister was safe, and would continue to be as he heard his father reassuring both Sarah and Nomi that the man had been properly threatened into not continuing his harassment of Nomi.

Then, he came home and told Mother. At least he didn’t try to hide it, merely went out on to the porch to keep it out of the house. Bobby was with a friend, so John was the one that got to hear everything. Her accusations of him hiding things. Wondering why he left in the middle of the night for her. Him trying to just steamroll her into just moving on.

Which she did, but it wasn’t moving on, it was moving to her sister’s with Bobby. Leaving her wedding ring behind as a last word. He didn’t go, still working as a constable under his Father. He would keep the house clean until his father came to his senses. Or he left, again, for what could have been permanently this time.

John understood. His Father wouldn’t excuse himself, wouldn’t apologize. He felt like he shouldn’t have had to, he had been in the dark as well until he made it out to the town. There was a tiny bit that wanted to ask his mother what would have happened if she had been first, but left him and he met another woman, married, had kids and she asked him for help because John was missing.

If she didn’t get married herself after him, Sarah hadn’t.

But his father went to the Station House and he was sitting on his bed with a simple sandwich and mug at his bedside, lamenting how quiet it was. How lonely. His sandwich and mug stayed as he laid down for a hopefully short nap. He had had too many long ones in the last couple of days.

Just watched Outlander 7x04 and ahhhh this season is so good!!! I love every second!! But this episode especially had so much in it that just screams for me to gif!! Between the Roger and Bree stuff and the William and Ian stuff I have my work cut out for me but every second was sooo good!!
