✈️ My flight was being served by an obviously flamboyent gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks. As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and told us that 'Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up , that would be super.' On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed this well-dressed and rather Arabic looking woman hadn't moved a muscle. A piece I designed and showcased at Metropolitan Fashion Week in Chelsi’s honor. I was one of over 30 designers featured that night. Our assignment was to design something inspired from an item showcased at the King Tut exhibit that was presented at the California Science Museum in Los Angeles. I chose a King Tut weapon he used to hunt for ostriches. It was this beautiful tall, strong, ornate staff with insignias all over it. I decided my design tribute to Chelsi Smith had to be something strong, demonstrating a warrior woman, something that represented Chelsi in her battle with Cancer and her fight in her career and success of various adversities she had faced on her path. This gown was about power whom I know represented Chelsi so very well. R.I.P. my dear Chelsi.
