true love by hovvdy - oh this song makes me feel SO warm! i discovered this around the time i moved back to my hometown so i really associate it with re/finding myself and the end of summer <3

jonny by faye webster - WOW ok so the album this song is from? yeah when it came out i genuinely don't think i listened to anything else for the rest of 2019. i'd really recommend the entirety of atlanta millionaires club if you haven't heard it, but jonny is a great great song, the instrumental is gorgeous and faye's simple vocals on top make for a great listen

jupiter by jewel - i just flipping love jewel and this is the song that, if i ever get married, i'd have my first dance to. "you make me so crazy baby, could swallow the moon" are u KIDDING? talented women over acoustic instrumentals mmmm gotta be my favourite genre!!!

superconnected by broken social scene - this is a fun one! this is maybe (?) my favourite BSS song but i'm in love with their discog so it's hard! rough-around-the-edges indie rock perfection. everyone in this collective is so talented and when they come together it's unbeatable. an old colleague of mine showed me their music and we're not friends anymore and haven't spoken in months but their music always reminds me of them + how much fun + how cool i felt at that job

the great war by taylor swift - honestly i'm shocked that it's taken multiple versions of these for a taylor song to come up? anyways a BANGER choice, you don't need me to tell you about taylor because i know we're kindred swifties <3 but this is my second favourite off midnights behind yoyok which is funny because those were two of my least favourites on release day! the "so i justified it" kicking into the chorus makes me feel aliveeeeee and i'm so glad as a fanbase the great war gets its flowers <3

little things by big thief -> this song makes me feel thirty feet tall and full of so much energy i could burst! adrienne's vocals and the guitar riffs are close enough to heaven that i'm always satisfied

do it by nelly furtado & missy elliott -> oh my goddddd this song is FUN! fun fact that's not very fun for me: i have a VIVID purple stain under my desk because this song came on once when i was getting ready and i literally THREW the purple pigment i was using for eyeshadow because i was dancing too hard u_u oops!

leo by dreamcastmoe -> nice lil dreamy number! i went through a big big phase with this song early winter and haven't listened to it for a while so that's a nice reminder

i belong in your arms by chairlift -> caroline polachek will forever be a goddess of music and an underrated GENIUS! i adore the chairlift creative project and ever since this song was on heartstopper it gives me even more positive bubbly feelings because it's a narlie song!!!

baby by j dilla -> probably the only song on this list that makes me seem cool lol but this is my favourite song to play during the summer! i used to skate along the seafront listening to this in july and even thinking about that makes me smell sunscreen and crave summer 2023 and all the joy that's going to come with it
