So a decade ago, Jay Briscoe said some pretty awful homophobic stuff. That’s true. But what’s also true is for the rest of his life he apologized and apologized often for what he said. He took the time to learn, grow, and do better. He also donated to causes to help teach tolerance and acceptance of LGBT+ Folk. He changed.
Many of his queer peers have come out to talk about how welcome he made them feel in the locker room, how he often went to bat for them and other lgbt+ wrestlers, how he stood up for them when there was bullying behind the scenes.
Jay Briscoe wasn’t a perfect person, no one is. But he was a good person.
People who bring up his tweets today, after his death, suck.
