——♥︎——
NINES ♥︎
the department is slow today. the usual hustle and bustle had calmed down immensely, sounds of typing and idle chatter taking over. your mug is sat to the left, empty as you squint at the computer screen in front of you. nines had been assigned the desk in front of yours — a blessing for quick cases, but a curse when he decided to ignore his tasks and simply stare at you.
as he was doing right now. blue eyes watch you as his led light slowly swirls yellow, head tilting as you blantantly ignore him. “want a refill?”
you hum, glancing at your stained mug before finding his gaze. you smile his way, “sure, if you don’t mind. i’m almost done here, though.”
without another word, nines makes his way to the breakroom to refill your mug with a steaming beverage. he hums at the steam, wondering if it was too hot for you to drink. he brings the cup to his mouth without thinking, the scalding liquid hitting his lips.
as he pulls it away — he’ll let it cool off a little longer, he decides — his lips feel sticky. a tingling sensation takes over, cooling and poking his lips at once. they taste sweet — minty — and it makes nines think.
is that how you tasted?
it had to be the lip gloss he’d always seen you applying. nines takes the mug back to you, loitering beside your desk as you look up at him. you grin again, ”thanks for the drink! you really didn’t ha—”
his lips are pressed against yours within the next second. pressing closer — harder — nines lets out a sigh as he finally releases you from his hold. he licks his lips, smacking them a bit as your gloss sticks to them.
“tingles.” is all he says before sitting across from you and continuing to stare. you blink, startled at his sudden and intense movements.
this changes things, you think. you’re unable to get back to work ; unable to meet nines’ eyes now that you’ve felt his skin against your own. you take a sip of your drink — this changes a lot of things.
WUJIN ♥︎
daesu had invited to you meet up with the group ; a new store had opened and everyone needed a break from their studies. namra met up with you so you could both walk to meet your friends, arms linked together as you talked about how difficult your last test was and how drained you were.
onjo squealed when she caught sight of you both, her and isak running to collide with you. you dispersed in a pile of giggles only to be pulled into a hug by daesu, who loudly and joyfully greeted you.
gyeongsu nudges you with a laugh as you pass through an art supply store, teasing you about the abundance of pens you always brings to class. this argument always happened but you always replied with the same thing — “need a different color for each subject!”
this, of course, applied to highlighters as well.
“hey,” a shy shoulder budges against yours. the clothing store you’re looking at now isn’t that interesting to you and the distraction is welcomed. wujin’s half-smile greets you, “glad you could make it.”
you let out a sigh, “needed a break from school so badly. how was your test? did you do okay?”
wujin shrugged. his mind was on other things ; eyes sticking to the new lip tint you’d put on. it was a darker color than usual, a cranberry and wine color that he couldn’t look away from. clearing his throat, wujin says, “that’s new. your— lip color.”
you perk up immediately, animatedly talking about the sale you stumbled upon and the new scents of hand lotion you grabbed. and that was interesting — wujin hung off of your every word — but he couldn’t look away from your lips.
your lips and their wine stained smile that he imagines pressing against his neck. would the color stick to his skin? would it mark him as yours ; and you as his?
GYEONGSU ♥︎
letting out another whine, gyeongsu flops back onto his carpeted floor. studying was hard ; it was tiring and boring and mentally exhausting. sighing, he goes to sit up and get back to it when the doorbell rings.
lo and behold, his savior. you’re standing in the doorway with a grin and your school bag, takeout bags looped around your wrists. you’re talking to gyeongsu’s mom ; giggling at her words and nodding along to what she says.
you look so comfortable at his house, so natural there that it almost hurts. his mom is in her nursing uniform, scrubs making their weird noise as she moves around. wordlessly, you hand her one of the takeout bags before setting the other one on the living room table. you’d been friends since you were young — had visited his house numerous times before — but, time and time again, gyeongsu thought about how well you fit in with them.
how well you could fit with him.
“hi, ‘su!” you grin his way and his heart aches. the boy melts where he stands, smile ghosting on his face immediately at the sight of you. he walks your way, both arms looping around one of yours with a sigh as he pulls you to sit on the floor beside him. “all good?’
he whines again, “brain hurts.”
“yeah i thought you might have some trouble,” you speak as you pull out your food. sighing, you smile his way timidly, pushing the food his way. “so, i retook the notes in a way i thought you’d understand.”
gyeogsu stares as you begin to dig in. his eyes are heart-shaped — they have to be. he softens entirely as he watches you.
ARISU ♥︎
the walk back from a game was always serene in the most devastating way. the beach wasn’t as safe as he’d originally thought — wasn’t as friendly and kind as the name suggested. but, arisu needed company and needed to understand what was happening and why he was sucked into the borderlands.
one good thing about the beach was you. you’d been ‘teamed up’ with usagi since you popped into the games, your wit and her athleticism saving you both more often than it let you down. one smile at arisu and— oh, he was a goner.
you’d met at the tag game and he’d stuck to you since. you always tried your best to be paired up with him, knowing what the loss of a friend could feel like ; what dark roads it could lead your mind to.
and he appreciated it so much — appreciated the way you took care of him and looked after him in the gentlest and most subtle of ways. with a sigh, arisu gave the two of hearts card to hatter, no closer to the end of the game than they’d been beforehand.
dried blood itched on his face ; stained his hands and coated his skin in a lingering scent he could never get rid of. a hand was latched onto his own, pulling and tugging him gently to a bathroom.
“come back to me,” a voice whispered. arisu always disappeared into his head after a game, screams and surrendering laughter haunting his mind. “come on, ‘su. come back.”
with a foggy blink, you came into view. you held a warm rag to his face, washing the blood off of his skin tenderly with a smile that made him melt. arisu slouched, relaxing forward into your open arms. “[name].”
“hi, ‘su.” you brushed your fingers through his greasy hair. “welcome back. i’m glad you’re alive.”
arisu snuggled further into you, arms winding around your waist as he thought. it was so easy to get lost in you ; too easy to think of you both getting out of the borderlands and settling down together and staying together.
he wish you knew, but he couldn’t be the one to tell you. not yet ; not with blood still dried on his hands.
CHISHIYA ♥︎
slight season two spoilers!
you’d been separated. you’d clung to chishiya since you arrived at the beach and now you were apart. worry and panic induced pacing caught kuina’s sight as you mindlessly picked at your skin.
she slung a backpack around her shoulders, looking at arisu and usagi as she spoke. “i’m off to find chishiya and ann.” she turns to you again, noticing the way you perked up at his name. “want to join me, [name]?”
you didn’t have to think before you were grabbing your own supplies and leaving with a hug to arisu and usagi. a promise to come back — to see them alive — and you were on your way.
then you were alone.
kuina had let go of you while you ran from the king of spades [again], and you’d found yourself lost. a blimp for the jack of hearts had just exploded a few feet in front of you.
lost in thought, you watched it tirelessly. and then a familiar voice. “[name]?”
you blink, coming back to reality as he walks up to you.
“chishiya,” you sigh out before running to meet him. without thinking, you throw your arms around his neck and pull him close. you let out a breath, closing your eyes and savoring his warmth. he was safe — alive. you go to pull away, “sorry. i got a little excited.”
chishiya grabs your right wrist, pulling it back around his neck as your left one is guided to wrap around his waist. he sinks into you, letting out his own sigh of relief as he relaxes.
“s’okay. need this — need you.” it’s out of character for the blond to be so loving ; so touch-starved as he clings onto you and makes your hold tighter. it wasn’t nice being alone in the games, not even to someone like chishiya. a feather-light touch hits the tip of your cheekbone. “you tell anyone about this, and i’ll kill you.”
the threat makes you laugh into his shoulder — even though you know he isn’t joking.
——♥︎—— there will b an anime version of this up soon!

▎  STARLIGHT,  ft. cheongsan, suhyeok, wujin
pairing, gn! reader & first dates: aouad edition. genre, fluff. setting, non-apocalyptic. warning, mention of food and horror movies.
Tumblr media
𝐢. lee cheongsan
almost no one knows that he had actually made a whole brainstorm board for your first date. only onjo is aware of it, but that wasn't out of choice—she's your best friend so she must know what you'd like, right?
(spoiler alert: the best she had was dinner at cheongsan's. not that he rejected it, the idea is actually sitting in the file titled ‘future dates.’)
ANYWAYS after browsing, thinking, and panicking (yes he did it in that particular order) he brought you to the beach where the two of you spent the afternoon strolling down the border where the sea and sand touched each other.
i'm not saying he occasionally stumbled from his feet suddenly sinking in the ground. . . yeah that's exactly what i'm saying. he considers himself grateful that you were there to rescue him, only for the same thing to happen to you—
what's a visit to the beach without playing in the water, right? maybe you looked like two big kids lightly splashing at each other, and maybe some sour passersby gave a side eye at your activity but no one cared.
residing in the picture that you've stored in your most precious memories is you, him, and the sea.
seeing as how he had brought his instax camera, cheongsan didn't forget to take some souvenirs. you know, polaroids that he can hang on his bedroom wall so it'll be the first thing he's asked by anyone who walks in (especially his mother.)
the two of you had agreed to go get dinner at the nearby food stall by 6, but then you saw the sun slowly falling beyond the horizon. it wouldn't hurt to stay a little longer and admire the view, right?
“it's beautiful.”
cheongsan can only nod because his mind has malfunctioned. the words got jammed in the printing so only he knows about what he's thinking in that very moment.
yeah, you really are.
Tumblr media
𝐢𝐢. lee suhyeok
let's pretend i haven't written a drabble about your first date with suhyeok because i love him sm i can't leave him out
alright so let's get the obvious out of the way: everyone in his friend circle knows that he's going on a date with you. after you asked him out, he ended up running around the school to find them and give the latest news.
of course there's some squealing and teasing ‘cause this big babie's been crushing on you for a while and wanted to make a move, but you beat him to it. i mean, just imagine him smiling so widely and almost kicking his feet at the air while he tells them, details included, how it happened.
coughs
during the date, it's mostly you browsing through the bookstore because he doesn't really have an affinity for reading but whenever you end up going on a tangent about one of the books on display that you've already read, he hangs onto every word so he can give you the appropriate reactions.
also suhyeok really wants to hold your hand but they're so sweaty that he doesn't want you to be grossed out ://
so when you notice him wiping his hands down on his sweater for the fifth time in a row, you hold out your hand.
“can i.. can i really hold your hand?”
inhales gallons of air
there's just so much hope that shimmers upon his chocolate hues and you're somehow still able to live while he looks at you like that.
“as long as you let me hold yours.”
i bet my whole soul he likes buying oversized sweaters because he likes that they make his giant figure a little smaller. his rolled sleeves aren't the neatest because he's so eager to do what he's been pining for ever since he picked you up for the date.
the moment that your palm is pressed against his, fingers fit snug between the gaps of his, he finds himself comparing them to two puzzle pieces.
maybe you're not perfect for everyone, but you're perfect for each other.
Tumblr media
𝐢𝐢𝐢. jang wujin
it took two whole weeks for wujin to go on a date with you, seeing as how he had asked you out during preparations for the regional archery tournament. but this sweetheart was patient and the time finally came so he should be excited, right?
Y E A H no.
don't get him wrong, he was originally over the moon, then his nerves just had to come in and chomp up all the space. so an hour before the main event, hari stepped in to assure him of three things: a) he looks good, b) be himself 'cause that's who you like, and c) she'll happily use him as a target if he breaks your heart.
in a previous conversation, you told him that you like horror movies so he bought two tickets to the latest flick. you're happy since there's been plenty of positive reviews about this so it must be good. wujin's happy for you and just so wrapped up in seeing you smile that he forgets to mention one teeny detail—
he hates horror movies.
as in, can't have any snacks or else the floor will eat it after a jump scare appears.
but this is what you were looking forward to so he puts on a brave façade and tries to get through it all.. only to bury his face in your shoulder during the first fifteen (15) minutes because why are they already chucking scary moments at the viewer?? shouldn't they build it up, let him prepare??
when it's clear that he won't move from that position, that's when you figure it out. ofc you feel yourself falling for him a little more, he really forced himself to sit through this screening just so you can enjoy your time with him.
the two of you end up leaving the cinema midway through and poor wujin keeps apologizing for ruining the date. his spirit has deflated like a sad balloon as he fully believes you want to end it there.
but when you suggest going to the nearby arcade where both of you will definitely have fun, maybe he hasn't missed his chances at winning more dates with you.
“just a heads up, i won't go easy on you when it comes to air hockey.”
liar, he “accidentally” let the puck fall through his side many times. anything to see you smile, that's what he says when you ask him about it.
bullseye, he lands right on your heart.

when i'm with you — l. hs
pairings : lee suhyeok x fem!reader
genre : fluff
summary : in this catastrophe, you and suhyeok feel the safest when you are with each other.
───────────────────────
the cold wind slips past through the broken window. a bunch of kids who were just experiencing their first-ever zombie apocalypse scattered around the room, finally feeling at peace as their eyes closed, roaming in their own dreams.
the two lovers sat together near the window, your head on suhyeok's chest and his arm under your neck and the other one wrapped around your waist, pulling you close to make you feel warmer, one of your arm on his stomach, legs tangled together, and his blazer on top of you both.
your breaths were steady, hair framing your face perfectly and the moonlight hit your face as you sleep, escaping this nightmare for a little while, secretly wishing that this was all dream, and by the time you woke up you were in suhyeok's room, doing your make-up on him or play mario kart together while the smell of his mum's cooking fills the entire house.
suhyeok didn't sleep though. instead, he keeps his eyes on you. holding you so dearly and watching you as your chest move up and down at a steady pace. he didn't want to sleep, at least not yet. this could be the last day you guys were together and he didn't want to waste it.
oh, how he wished all of this didn't happen. how he wished that right now, at this hour (honestly he doesn't know exactly what time is it but he guessed it's around 9 pm) he could take you out to an empty park, being dummies together.
he sighed, giving you a long forehead kiss before deciding to close his own eyes as drowsiness starts to kick in. he pulls you even closer, snuggling into your neck to find more warmth in this cold night.
the group of the teenage survivors sat by the fire on the school's rooftop, comfortable silence fills the night. after a tiring and thrilling struggle to get to where they are right now, they finally get to rest again. though they were extremely upset the helicopter left them, they have no other choice but to stay here, wishing for another one to come and finally taking them to a safe place.
"should we do a deep talk? like confessions or something? you know like in the movies." you said, chuckling while leaning your head to suhyeok's shoulder.
"okay, first of all, please stop that lovey-dovey stuff, it's grossing me out." daesu said, only to make suhyeok plant a hard kiss on your cheek which makes the group—and you—scream and gasps in shock.
"just say that you're jealous, daesu." suhyeok teased, sticking his tongue out at the boy who had a sour expression on his face, causing everyone to laugh.
"oh, i think we should do that. what y/n said, i mean." onjo spoke. all of them nods and there goes the conversation.
from jimin's not-so-pleasant story about how she should just move to seoul, to how namra felt so glad that she finally had some friends, to daesu's singing, and to cheongsan's confession for onjo. you can say it was quite nice, it brings closure to all of you and you liked it. you like how it felt safe and comfortable.
you feel suhyeok's hands on your shoulder. you look up and smile at him before closing your eyes and rest your head on his chest. "what are we gonna do after this?" you said.
"what do you mean?" suhyeok asked, looking down at you.
"you know, after all of this is over, what do you want to do?" you opened your eyes to meet his.
"well, what do you wanna do?" he asked again.
"i want to eat your mum's jjajangmyeon, it was my favorite. i want to put my make-up on you and play mario kart together. or maybe roblox, anything on your computer. and then we can watch peaky blinders, we haven't finished that." you said, looking at the night sky above. the only thing that remains the same in this hell hole.
suhyeok smiled sadly, he wants to do that too, really. he would do anything to eat his mum's jjajangmyeon while watching your favorite shows, constantly throwing comments and arguing here and there again. but he didn't even know are they gonna be able to do that anymore? but nonetheless, he answered softy, "then we'll do that after this."
suddenly you felt a wet drop on your cheeks which make you open your eyes. "are you crying?" you asked.
"no." suhyeok shake his head.
"are you drooling?!" you said again, sitting straight.
"what? no!" your boyfriend replied, hands up in defense.
"wait..," you trailed off. another drop hit your face, and then more drops hit your face again. "it's- it's raining!" you yelled in joy.
"everyone, it's raining!" getting on your feet, you opened your mouth to drink some of the rain waters. "oh my god, it's raining! woohoo!!" you yelled again, twirling and jumping, feeling freer with every drop of rain that hits you.
suhyeok watches you with loving eyes, seeing you bubbly as that making butterflies form in his stomach. god, how he loves you so much.
the tall boy got up, coming towards you and picking you up with a genuine smile. he spins you around, the melody of your laughs combined as well as the others'.
after a few spins, suhyeok finally put you down, never breaking the eye contact. he keeps his hands on your waist and your hands on his neck. you both smile at each other before closing the gap between you both. sharing a soft loving kiss with each other.
you broke the kiss, looking straight into his eyes and playing with the back of his hair as you whispered. "i love you." a tear dropped from your eyes as the stress, anxiety, and tiredness starts to overwhelmed you, followed by a sob.
suhyeok's hand finds its way to your cheeks, wiping the tears away as he brings you to his embrace. "i love you too."
you walk hand in hand with your boyfriend, couldn't help but let out a small sniff when you saw the armies with their guns, the feeling of relief washed you over. finally, it's all gonna come to an end.
you put your hands up, signaling the armies that you guys bring no harm. memories of the difficult process for all of you to get there, the people that didn't make it, your friends that didn't make it. namra, cheongsan, wujin, joonyeong, everyone creeps up to your mind. leaving a bittersweet feeling in your chest.
suhyeok rubbing your hand in a small circle, giving comfort and reassurance as much as he can.
"there are survivors!" the army shout, bringing their guns down and rushing to you guys, checking here and there.
you're safe. suhyeok is safe, all the pain, all the tired, are worth it. even though there have to be painful sacrifices.
the armies led you guys to the quarantine camp, giving you clean clothes and all. you look around, looking at the people inside the rooms, crying and hugging together.
you look up to suhyeok, only to find him already looking at you. "we made it." you said, letting out a breath of relief.
he smile and nod. "we made it."
four months have passed. you and suhyeok sat together on one of the sides of a tent. both of your hands inside his as he constantly blows it to bring warmth, watching the kids running around and playing with each other. it started to snow, which you were so happy for. you love winter, you love the snow. it was such a peaceful scene to see after the catastrophe behind.
"are you hungry?" you said, leaning on him.
"mhm, what do you want to eat?" he asked.
"i don't know, anything. but i really want hotteok right now." you look at him with a scrunched face. "do you think they'll give us some hotteok for winter?"
suhyeok chuckled softly, ruffling your hair a bit. "maybe? we'll see. i'll make you one if they don't." he rubs his nose against yours. you laughed as you feel the tingling sensation.
suhyeok give you a peck before hugging you so tightly. rocking you forward and backward. "aahh, you're so cute, i love you, darling."
how you guys wished this moment would last forever. the situation isn't the best but it's enough, you like it. now that everything has passed, you swear you would cherish every moment you had. with your friends, with the people around, and most importantly... with suhyeok.
───────────────────────
not very happy abt the ending cuz i'm not sure how to end it but well oh well here you have it <3

hi! may i request a wu-jin x reader where dae-su catches them eating together during lunch and tease them abt it afterwards in class + the whole class catching on and now teasing the new couple <3
helloo :) i’ve started writing in second person so i hope that’s okay and that i didn’t make any mistakes anywhere as i am trying to make my fics more inclusive <3 also i hope you like the fic!! i really enjoyed writing it :))
☁️just lunch-jang wujin☁️
warnings: none
Masterlist
-2nd person p.o.v-
“come on, it’s just lunch…please?” wujin looked at you with a small pout.
“okay, fine but I swear if people start teasing us. im blaming you” you smiled giving into the boy in front of you.
“let them tease..then i can finally show off my beautiful girlfriend/boyfriend” he grinned and you rolled your eyes playfully.
“yeah yeah” you gently nudged him and he pecked your cheek before leading the way to the football pitch seats.
“did you really have to pick this place to eat lunch…the seats are so hard” you grumbled before sitting next to him.
“ah, stop complaining and eat your lunch” wujin smiled as he pulled a chocolate bar out of his pocket.
“fine..but you better share that chocolate bar with me after i eat my grapes” you couldn’t help but smile as he nodded his head stuffing his face with more of the chocolate.
“why aren’t you playing football with everyone today?” you then questioned, popping a grape into your mouth.
“we haven’t eaten lunch together ever since we became a couple and i thought it would be nice” wujin placed his free hand on your leg.
“ah look at you, already so whipped for me” you chuckled.
“not whipped enough to share my chocolate bar” wujin then quickly put the rest of the chocolate in his mouth.
you fake gasped and shook your head holding back a laugh as you took a grape and threw it at his head. he immediately stared at you with wide eyes before reaching down into your tub to get a grape but you quickly hid it under your school jumper.
“i’d like to see you try to steal one of my grapes” you warned with a smirk on your face.
“don’t think i won’t get some of your grapes” he reached his hand to lift your school jumper as you let out a laugh trying to push him away.
“hey! brother-in-law, ive been looking for you everywhere” you both heard dae-su’ voice and wujin quickly pulled back.
both of you fell silent.
“oh, what were you both doing just then?” dae-su paused now standing by the seats in front of you.
“nothing. we were just eating lunch together” wujin shrugged and dae-su nodded slowly.
“anyway brother-in-law. i’ve been looking for you all over. ha-ri is looking for you” he looked at wujin and wujin turned to you with sorry eyes.
“reign-check?” he asked and you nodded with a smile on your face.
“of course” you answered and he placed a hand on your leg once more before standing up.
“are you sure? i see my sister at home all the time and-”
“it’s fine, just go…plus it gives me a chance to eat my grapes in peace”
“ha ha very funny” wujin rolled his eyes dramatically.
“yah hurry up! don’t make my future wife wait on you” dae-su then hurried wujin along.
“okay okay” wujin sighed and then turned to you “see you in class?”
you nodded before waving as the two began to leave.
“ah you always have to interrupt me” you heard wujin complain as he smacked dae-su over the head.
a small laugh left you lips as you watched them walk out of your sight.
——————————————————————————
as you walked into class, you noticed that wujin was already there.
“hey” you greeted a grin appearing on your face as you placed your bag down and went to sit in your seat.
“hey” wujin said back as he walked over to stand in front of your desk.
“did you find out what your sister needed?”
“just the house keys” wujin rolled his eyes as he then leaned over your desk “i know i kind of ditched our lunch but it’s just lunch…come over to my house tonight and we can have dinner”
“okay mr.it’s just lunch, i’ll come over but you still owe me for eating the chocolate all by yourself” you stared up at his eyes.
“hm and what do you want?” he leaned closer, to the point you could feel his breath on your face.
“kiss! kiss! kiss!” dae-su chanted, earning a laugh from the rest of the class.
wujin sighed before pulling back and turning to his friend.
“what’s your problem? you keep interrupting my conversations” he fired and dae-su let out smirk.
“oooh sorry for interrupting your couples moments..im disappointed in you. you didn’t even tell me you and y/n are a couple!” dae-su teased before complaining.
“you and y/n are a couple?!” cheong-san gasped as he looked at his friend.
“it’s been obvious for a while now, they can’t keep their eyes off of each other!” gyeong-su then teased as people laughed.
you felt your cheeks get warm and you hoped that no one would point out the shocked but embarrassed expression on your face.
had you really both not have been as lowkey as you thought you were?
“what are you saying y/n, it’s true isn’t it? you’re both in love!” hyo-ryung giggled and you thought about it for a second.
there was no point in hiding it any longer.
“it’s true, wujin and i are a couple” you admitted before standing up and kissing wujin’ cheek.
this caused the rest of the class to erupt in cheer.
“you’re okay with everyone knowing?” wujin turned to you with a confused look on his face .
“like you said right? you can finally show off your beautiful girlfriend/boyfriend”

Woo-Jin didn’t know what to do anymore. A gentle breeze embraced him in its brief coolness as he looked on at Y/N, entranced. The feeling inside him was overpowering, made his heart ache every time he saw her, every time he thought of her.
“Earth to Woo-Jin?”
Woo-Jin snapped out of his reverie, seeing Y/N now looking at him, confused.
He cleared his throat. “What is it?”
He and Y/N were at the entrance of the school, going back inside after gym class, the air-conditioned building cooling after their laps around the track.
“I was going to ask you what you wanted to do during break, but I guess you must he fantasizing about today’s specials or something, because-”
Shrill screams erupted from the end of the hall.
Y/N froze, along with Woo-Jin, who looked warily at the nurse’s office. The sound came the school nurse, who charged at two students who were outside her office. The students, however, leaped out of the way just in time, making her bash into the wall. They jeered at her, their phones out as they recorded the ‘drunk’ nurse.
The sound of cracking bones came from the nurse then, who got back up with a piercing screech, and bit one of the students in the neck. He screamed out in agony, and that was all it took for Y/N and Woo-Jin to come back to their senses.
“Shit. Run!” Woo-Jin cried, grabbing Y/N’s hand and racing up the stairs.
It was chaos, students running this way and that, with no sense of direction whatsoever, their instincts screaming at them to just get away from the source of danger. Woo-Jin was more composed however, settling on getting to his and Y/N’s classrooms as fast as possible, and regroup with their classmates.
Reaching their classroom’s floor, Woo-Jin hurriedly shoved Y/N into the classroom, sliding the door shut again. The students who were already in the classroom were standing now, looking at the two of them in confusion.
Y/N stood by the door, catching her breath after such a panicked run.
“What the hell is going on?” Gyeong Su asked, peeking out their class’ windows.
“I don’t know, the nurse bit a student, and then, shit.” Woo-Jin explained, too, out of breath.
Y/N couldn’t blame him for not being able to explain all they saw. Anyone who’d had to explain themselves would sound insane; no matter how they worded it.
More shrill screams came from all over, and then the group saw it. They’re first zombie. It ran across the hall, being seen by the group through the class’ windows, its mouth bloody and its body contorted in awkward and painful angles as it ran.
Y/N placed a hand over her mouth, horrified.
Woo-Jin felt useless in this moment, useless in that he couldn’t comfort his best friend, Y/N, in such a horrific situation.
Woo-Jin sat on a swing in his apartment’s compound, alone. He enjoyed how peaceful it was, though he had to admit; it would be better to enjoy with someone else.
It felt a little eerie being alone in the playground during late noon, when the sky was now turning into a mesmerizing swirl of egg yolk, brilliant reds and hints of the once blue sky. Other kids his age were probably in their apartments now, washing up and getting ready for dinner, like what he should be doing right now.
His parents always came home late, though, so he opted to stay outside instead of being cooped up in the apartment and staring at the ceiling.
He swung on the swing gently, closing his eyes and enjoying the coolness of the last moments of the afternoon.
“Do you mind if I join you?”
Woo-Jin, startled, shot his eyes open, getting up from the swing.
A girl about his age smiled at him in confusion, and he sat back down. “Sorry, you gave me quite the scare there.”
“And um, sure, you can join me.”
Y/N sat on the swing directly beside him, also gently swinging herself forward and gazing up at the sunset before them.
“So, what’s your name?” She asked, now looking to him.
“Woo-Jin, what’s yours?”
She smiled at him. “I’m Y/N”
A weird feeling started to sprout in Woo-Jin’s stomach then, from seeing her smile like that. Her smile was really pretty.
“I live in apartment 20, third floor. Where’s yours?”
“Hey! I’m in apartment 21!” Y/N perked up.
“Wanna hang out like this everyday after school then?” Deep in his heart he hoped with every single fibre of his being that she’d say yes, and sure enough,
“I’d like that.”
Then she smiled that gorgeous, heart-stopping smile of hers, and Woo-Jin felt like he had just won in life.
From there, their friendship began to take shape, and they were inseparable all throughout their school years. And with each second they spent together, the strange ache in Woo-Jin’s heart only grew stronger.
Present day
Three days had past since their initial first encounter with the cannibalistic students of Hyosan High. Their group’s numbers had whittled down now; I-Sak, Gyeong Su, and Na Yeon, and even their teacher, Ms. Park, all lost to the horrors outside.
Now they were in the gym, stuck inside the storage room after losing a senior, who sacrificed himself for the group. Mi Jin’s cries had died down to her resting her head in her arms now, being consoled by Woo-Jin’s sister, Ha-Ri.
Woo-Jin sat beside Y/N, sneaking glances at her as she looked forward into nothingness, head on some cloud, trying to forget all that had happened these past few days.
He had tried to talk to her any chance he could, tried to reassure her throughout the hell they were in, but every time he did, he would get interrupted, either by someone coming up with a new plan, or by zombies chasing them down.
But now, as the group drifted off to rest for the day, he could finally do something to calm her nerves down.
“Y/N”
Y/N turned to Woo-Jin, mustering up the best smile she could. She was exhausted, as all of them were.
Most of the time, she was stuck in her thoughts whenever the group had decided to take a break, like right now, in the gym’s storage room.
She dreamed of what she would be doing now had the hellish situation they were all in right now happened, or, to be more specific, what she and Woo-Jin would have been doing now.
Y/N had always had feelings for Woo-Jin, she knew he didn’t feel the same, however. It was silly to think her best friend saw her as anything else other than that; a best friend. She had wanted to come clean that day, at lunch, tell him how she felt, tell him that she couldn’t take this torturous game of her one sided love for him; and that if he never wanted to speak to her again, she wouldn’t mind. It would be less painful that way.
But she never got the chance, terror lurked around every nook and cranny, and Y/N wanted to stay on her feet, on guard. And if she had the chance to rest, she would, and take the slim time period she had fantasizing of how perfect her life would be had this whole thing not happened.
And in some improbable universe, had Woo-Jin liked her back, she’d be the happiest girl on earth, she’d feel like nothing else mattered, and it would be just the two of them, like always, against the world.
Y/N didn’t know what it was with him, why of all people, she liked her best friend.
Maybe it was the way he smiled, his sharp features, how caring he was, how thoughtful he was towards others, his personality, the way he made Y/N laugh, no matter the situation without fail. Or maybe it was all of those qualities that attracted her.
He was perfect to Y/N, which was why she could never have him. It hurt her, but the truth would always remain the same; hurtful and ugly, and only nice to others somehow luckier than her.
“Y/N?”
Y/N realised she’d been staring at Woo-Jin this whole time.
Her cheeks flushed, shooting him a quick smile.
“Yeah?”
Woo-Jin’s heart flipped at seeing her smile. It never failed to woo him, no matter what.
He reached out for her hand, grabbing it in his, and placing a chaste kiss on her knuckles, all while lookin up at her. His grip remained on her hand, holding it close to him.
“I wanted to let you know, that no matter what happens, I will always protect you. If I don’t make it, I’ll make sure you will.”
Y/N, stunned at his display of affection toward her, nodded slowly, her smile growing and her cheeks growing hotter by the second.
She added ‘gentlemanly’ to the list of qualities she loved about him to her mental notes.
But then she realised the last part of what he said.
‘If I don’t make it, I’ll make sure you will.’
Hell, no.
Her smiled fell from her face, confusing Woo-Jin.
“Hey. Promise me that we’ll both make it out alive. You can’t die, I won’t let you. We have to make it out together, okay?”
Y/N squeezed his hand.
“Please.” She pleaded softly.
Woo-Jin nodded, knowing full well he was lying to her. “I promise.”
His fingers were crossed behind his back.
Woo-Jin felt like he was overflowing. The feeling of butterflies in his stomach, the way his heart did flips whenever he saw her, thoughts of her on his mind 25/8.
She was perfect, so so perfect, which was why he knew she’d never like him back.
Her smile, her laugh, her personality, her humour, her thoughtfulness, how caring she was; those were only some of the things he loved about her; her smile especially.
On any given day when he was down or gloomy, her smile could always lift his spirits, change his mood for the better, like it was magic.
Today he and Y/N had agreed to go home together, and go to their special place.
He leaned against the gate, patiently awaiting Y/N as closed his eyes.
He heard footsteps, but pretended he didn’t still closing his eyes.
“Boo!” Woo-Jin didn’t flinch.
Y/N wrapped her arms around him then, which definitely elicited a reaction out of him.
“Y-Y/N. Hi.”
“Hey dumbo. Ready to go?”
“Of course. Race you!”
“Hey!” Y/N ran after him, calling after him, annoyed the whole way.
The pair, panting, reached their apartment complex at last. Y/N shoved him playfully. “Hey! You caught me off guard, you should’ve told me first, then run off!”
Woo-Jin smirked. “I did do that though. You’re just slow.”
Y/N rolled her eyes, letting him have this one.
It was only 5.30 when they arrived home; the perfect time for them to go to their special place together.
The playground was empty, as usual, and a bit more rusted in some areas than 5 or so years ago; but it was still the same place they had met.
The place when Woo-Jin had met, and fallen in love with an angel.
The pair sat down on their swings, in the same fashion as when they first met, with Woo-Jin on the left, and Y/N on the right. They swung themselves gently on the swings, looking out at the sky, now a whirl of different colours; most notably, the colour of egg yolk.
They just sat there, enjoying the quiet, and each others presence.
“Never gets old, does it?” Woo-Jin turned to Y/N as he asked.
Y/N smiled. “No, it doesn’t.”
“I can almost remember being 12 and meeting you. It feels like I’ve gone back in time with a time machine.”
Y/N giggled, “I remember I scared you into standing up when I first talked to you.” She laughed again.
Woo-Jin felt his heart do a flip again. Her smile and laugh- all in one? Instant heart eyes toward Y/N.
He grinned at her, glancing at her hand she used to hold the swings’ chain. He sucked in a deep breath; taking the chance.
He reached for her hand, holding in his. Y/N looked to their hands, then to Woo-Jin, a confused smile on her face. Woo-Jin smiled back, and they stayed there, sat on the swings beside each other, staring off into the sunset.
Had Woo-Jin paid more attention, he would’ve noticed the prominent crimson of a blush spreading across Y/N’s face; and the giddy smile that broke through.
Present day, 3 hours later
Y/N pushed the equipment carts as hard as she could, tears streaming down her face as she fought the zombies attempts at grabbing her. The sadness in her heart ached so bad, it weakened her, but she strengthened her resolve; she’d do this, for Joon Young. She’d survive, and help all her friends survive in honour of Joon Young.
“Fuck off undead shitheads!” Y/N screamed, anger seeping through her pain as she pushed with all her might.
She heard panic ensue over where a few of her friends were trying to get the door open, hearing them say it was locked, but she didn’t care. Not now. She’d help keep the barrier strong, for them all to get out of this shithole, no matter what.
She groaned, and then she saw him.
Joon Young, through a crack in her barrier.
He was bloody, and no longer human, a crazed look in his eye. He was gone, yet he was right in front of her. Y/N screamed at the sight. The pain was too fresh to see him this soon.
“Fuck off, fuck off, fuck off! Get away from me!”
“Y/N, let’s go!”
“Stay away from me…” Her voice cracked, Joon Young’s face was everywhere now.
She had been pulled from her part of the barrier by Woo-Jin, who closed the door shut just in time for them to miss the zombies.
Woo-Jin grabbed Y/N’s shoulders, shaking her. “Y/N, keep it together! Come on, you almost died there.”
“Sorry. I don’t know what came over me.”
Woo-Jin clicked his tongue, pulling her into a tight embrace.
“You could’ve died there. Don’t do that ever again, okay?”
Y/N nodded, a few stray tears dampening Woo-Jin’s sweater vest. Being able to hold her now and comfort her made Woo-Jin want to survive even more, to help her through this messy situation. He wanted to always be there for her, but he knew it would all come to a close soon.
It always did.
But at least he did it for the person he care for most in this world,
Y/N.
4 hours later
Everyone was grabbing their weapons, all readying themselves for the fight that was about to ensue.
Y/N’s heartbeat quickened as Nam Ra told them all that they were coming.
Breathe, breathe, breathe.
Y/N cried out as she fought zombies left and right, stabbing them, and kicking them down. She was doing well, until one got dangerously close to her, almost biting her in the arm. She stabbed it in the neck, killing it, which grabbed the attention of another zombie from afar.
She lost her balance, quickly getting up, and the creature ran to her at an inhuman speed, but before it could get close to her, Woo-Jin shielded her, pinning her down to the ground.
Y/N shocked, just stared at him, as the zombie inched closer and closer.
“What are you doing? Move out of the way!”
“No. I’m keeping my promise to keep you alive.”
“You idiot, you promised me we’d both survive!”
Woo-Jin smiled a sad smile at Y/N, showing her his fingers, which were crossed.
Y/N took the chance to roll him out the way, stabbing the zombie just in time before it got to either of them. It fell to its side, now truly dead.
She took a moment to catch her breath, turning to Woo-Jin, with a glare that made his heart sink. She’d never ever glared at him like that before.
Y/N felt enraged at him, at how he was ready to kill himself for her, when she had the whole thing under control. He promised her, he never broke his promises, but now, right now when she needed him most- he decided to break her trust, and to what? Sacrifice himself and die a pointless, painful death, when she could’ve protected herself.
Remembering the promise he had made boiled her blood even more now as she looked back on it.
“Liar.”
She uttered but one word, yet it hit and stabbed into Woo-Jin’s heart like a million shards of glass, all twisting in the area they had punctured; full of seething rage at his one lie to Y/N.
Woo-Jin tried grabbing her wrist, to tell her why he did what he did- but she snatched her hand away, without a single glance back at him. He stood there, dejected, looking on as she ran to help Mi Jin with the last zombie.
Y/N,
Why can’t you understand that I love you so much, that I’d sacrifice myself for you to live on and be happy?
7 hours later
Woo-Jin felt saddened beyond belief now as they were all being questioned by the military.
He had hurt Y/N that bad, that she didn’t even want to look at him.
They were sat at the back on metal chairs, with some of the group closing their eyes to rest for a bit, and some just staring into oblivion.
He tried to make eye contact with Y/N, but she would always find a way to avoid his gaze, and now, her tactic was to console On-Jo through losing Cheong San. Her voice was sweet to On-Jo; full of love, and support, kind and soft, like how she usually talked to him.
But he knew that if he tried to talk to her now, she’d ignore him, or worse, shrug him off with a tone of thorns, and a voice uncharacteristically dismissive and full of anger.
He wanted to hold her so bad, wanted to tell her he loved her so damn much.
But she put a wall around herself, and Woo-Jin feared it would never fall.
ꨄ ⋆·˚ ༘ *
They were all in quarantine now, in separate rooms, too. Luckily though, he managed to get a room directly next to Y/N’s.
Woo-Jin sat, slumped against the room’s wall, staring at the ceiling as he thought of his current predicament.
He and Y/N hadn’t talked for a week now, and it was driving him insane. Usually, they never went a single day without at least saying hi to the other, but now? Things were obviously very different, and Woo-Jin grew anxious in seeing how things would turn out, and wether or not they were even friends anymore.
He hated the quiet of the quarantine room, so so much. The quiet only made him think of Y/N, and thoughts of her only made his heart ache. She probably hated him, and would never trust him again.
It was a simple break of a promise, and he had broken it for her sake; because he loved her.
He loved her, so so much.
The days that their group had been fighting for their lives were some of the scariest moments Woo-Jin had ever gone through; yet, even through the moments of his one goal being that to survive, his mind somehow always drifted to Y/N, her smile, her laugh…
She reminded him of why he needed to live.
But then, the bleakness of the situation really set in once they lost so many of their friends.
Then, he reflected on himself, and how he saw things going.
He promised himself that day, that he’d never let Y/N be lost to the horrors, he promised himself, that no matter what, he would do whatever it took to save her, and to keep her alive.
Woo-Jin sighed, looking over the plain and barren room. A bed with a mediocre comfort level, a table in the corner with a stack of papers, and a chair to go along with it. This was the room he’d be stuck in for around half a year? That and he couldn’t even get out of the room to talk to his friends for another week. Y/N probably wouldn’t want to talk to him then, either.
An idea hit Woo-Jin then.
Sitting himself down on the desk,
Woo-Jin smiled. Origami was something he and Y/N loved and frequently did back a few years ago to just pass the time, or to destress after a long day. They still did it sometimes, for old time’s sake, though. Despite them hardly ever doing origami anymore, Woo-Jin made sure to know and memorise the folding of Y/N’d favourite origami model, just in case. And until now, he knew, her favourite origami model was the paper crane, graceful and beautiful, two things Woo-Jin associated with Y/N.
And now, Woo-Jin realised why the crane was Y/N’s favourite.
Some say the things we like are a physical manifestation of how we are; for instance, a person who likes football would most likely be competitive and determined, some of the two things that are needed to play the sport.
For here, in Y/N’s case, one of her favourite things is a paper crane; tied to the qualities of beauty and elegance, of which Woo-Jin saw Y/N as an embodiment of. The saying never gleamed truer than now, with an example right on the tip of his nose.
Grabbing a pen from the desk, he clicked it, and took a deep breath in.
He had so much to say to her, it would never fit on this tiny square he’d cut out. That was the state of his love for Y/N, never once decreasing in its magnitude, but rather growing, by each second of each and everyday. Another idea hit Woo-Jin then, though the ‘project’ of his would take quite a while to finish.
“Screw it.”
He began to write, the words coming out smooth, gliding on the paper like second nature to Woo-Jin as if he had been practicing and preparing for this moment for the past 5 years.
Which, he has.
ʚɞ𖥻 𐑺﹢◍ ꜝ ࣪𓈒٫
4 months. 4 months of quarantine, and they were all finally out.
Y/N breathed in the fresh air, looking around the camp for her friends. And one she definitely needed to find,
Woo-Jin.
She owed him an apology, for ignoring him, getting mad at him when he had only tried to protect her.
“Y/N?”
Y/N froze, recognising that voice.
She turned around, facing Woo-Jin, their eyes meeting. Y/N had always loved his eyes, and his smile. She loved all of him, really.
“Woo-Jin!” Y/N ran to give him a hug, and he hugged her back just as tight, grasping on to her by her waist, holding on to her like she was something so delicate, she would break lest he hold on to her. Woo-Jin pulled away, but kept his hold on Y/N by her waist, still not believing that he was really holding her now.
“Hey.” Y/N breathed, looking up at Woo-Jin, a small smile on her face.
“Hey.”
It had been so long since she and Woo-Jin had seen each other, this moment almost felt like a dream, one all too good to be true. Yet, no matter how many time she tried, Y/N could never wake from her supposed dream. This was all real. His hold on her waist, flush against his body, all real, flesh and bone.
“I have something to give you.”
Woo-Jin smiled, reaching into his pocket, and taking out a packed envelope. “Open it back in your quarters.”
Y/N nodded, graciously accepting the letter, and putting it into her own coat’s pocket.
“I have to go now, but I’ll see you later, alright?”
Inside, Y/N felt saddened at his words.
Don’t go.
Despite that, she nodded.
“Alright, stay safe.” Woo-Jin let go of Y/N, his warmth going along with him. Y/N watched as he walked away, guilt gnawing at her. She was supposed to apologise, but she was too wrapped up in his splendor, his aura, to even remember anything else.
She sighed, taking the letter out, and walking back to her quarters to open it.
Now inside, she shut the door, sitting herself on the side of her bed, and took a moment to get her bearings. Okay, it was just a letter, there was no need to panic. It’s just a letter, no need to freak out. But this was different. This letter was from Woo-Jin. God, this was all so stupid, it was a letter, for goodness sake just open it-
Y/N flipped the flap open, revealing paper cranes, flattened to fit into the letter. She smiled, paper cranes were her favourite, and Woo-Jin remembered. As she took them out, she noticed writing on the paper cranes, piquing her interest, she unfolded the first crane she took out; finding a note, addressed to her. She took out the rest of the cranes, finding them all to have writing on their bodies. “Woo-Jin, the creative.”
Unfolding them all, she checked to make sure she read them in chronological order- she didn’t want to spoil his order of his sending these to her.
Taking a deep breath, she began reading the letters.
Dear Y/N, 9/7/2022
I know you’re probably mad furious at me right now. I broke your trust, and I should’ve never done that. But I hope you understand, that what I did, was to protect you. I didn’t see a clear way out of the mess we were going through then. So many people were lost, I just… I didn’t want you to be one of them. -Woo-Jin
Dear Y/N, 18/7/2022
Sometimes I lay awake at night, thinking of you. Sometimes I feel like I can hear our classmates, now turned into stars, twinkling teasingly at me. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I had lost you. Thank you, for staying alive. -Woo-Jin
Dear Y/N, 10/8/2022
I think I’m going insane. It’s been so long since we last spoke. I miss your voice, your laugh, your smile; the way your eyes light up whenever you talk about something you like. I miss our conversations a lot. I miss you, a lot. - Woo-Jin
To Y/N, 29/8/2022
I’m trying to shake things up a little: instead of ‘dear’ I wrote ‘to’ I’m super creative like that aren’t I? Anyway, I was just thinking about our days in middle school. Remember that time you didn’t have a jacket and it was super cold out, so I gave you mine? You never gave it back, and honestly, I never cared to have it back. I thought it looked much better on you, than it did on me. I hope I helped you keep warm that day, because seeing you happy definitely warmed me up. -Woo-Jin
Dear Y/N, 6/9/2022
I keep reminiscing about our old days. I think, now, after replaying a handful back, I’ve found my favourite. It was when we went to the park, it started raining, but we didn’t have an umbrella on us, so we just decided to accept our fate and get rained on. Then you forced me to dance with you in the rain! I loved seeing the way you glowed among the relative darkness of dusk, your eyes sparkling and seeing your bright smile. Holding you close to me when we did the waltz was my favourite part of that day by far. My mum did scold me when I got home soaking wet, but I wouldn’t have changed anything from that day for the world. - Woo-Jin
To Y/N, 21/9/2022
How are you holding up? I know I won’t get an answer from you since, well, you’re not reading this during quarantine… but I’ll still ask, because I care. Anyways, I thought about this for a good few hours, and I think I’ve come up with a good list of things we need to get done once we get out of this place. First, we go to Disneyland (I’ll pay for the tickets, don’t worry. Food’s on you, though.), go stargazing in some field (you’ve been saying how you’ve been wanting to do that- so we should get it done ASAP!), and traveling! (I know you miss doing that, so we should definitely do it.) I have so many other things to talk to you about in this list of mine, so let’s chat once we’re outta here, okay love? - Woo-Jin
To Y/N, 5/10/2022
I have something to tell you.
I couldn’t sleep last night. I was up all night thinking about this.
I’m scared this’ll ruin
I’ll talk to you next time. I hope you’re well :)
-Woo-Jin
Dearest Y/N, 10/10/2022
Meet me at the back of the camp. I need to talk to you about something. -Woo-Jin
Y/N felt her cheeks warm as she put the last letter aside, staring off at the wall, giddy and anxious to see what he needed to tell her so badly.
It should’ve been obvious. It was, of course, but Y/N kept pushing it to the back of her mind as the last possible thing he would want to talk to her about. Come on, Woo-Jin, her best friend, liking her?
She’d been the one to like him when they met. He was just a super great guy who just happened to be great friends with her; she could never hope for more than that. Yet, the letters she had read from him to her told her all she needed to know of his raw feelings for her.
“What game are you playing at, Jang Woo-Jin?”
Y/N muttered, looking to her door. She couldn’t just stand him up, she had wronged him way too many times for that.
“Relax.”
With a bit of reassurance, she headed off to the back of the camp, making sure her hair was nice, and dusting off her coat as she did so.
The back of the camp was quite nicely lit up this time of day, quite unkempt, and certainly not the most romantic, but was certainly private enough for their conversation. Y/N felt butterflies flutter around her stomach as she spotted Woo-Jin, whose back was to her. Somehow, seeing him in person made her all the more nervous, but there was no going back now. She’d just have to brave herself for the next few moments. Mustering up the courage, she called for him.
“Woo-Jin?”
He turned at the call of his name, hands in his coats pockets as he smiled at Y/N. God, that jaw dropping smile of his. She smiled back, walking up to him.
It was quiet as they stared into each others eyes for a moment, the sounds of nature and the chirping of birds the only sound to be heard, until he spoke.
“Y/N, did you read my letters?”
“Yes, and I also noticed how you folded them into paper cranes, my favourites. How’d you remember?”
“I’m just amazing like that.”
They giggled for a second, before the moment turned serious, their eyes locked on to the others.
“Y/N, I have a confession to make.
You know… ever since that day I met you at the playground, some feeling kept nagging at mr whenever we saw each other. I didn’t know what it was at first… but a year or so of that same feeling I finally realised what it was.”
Y/N’s breath hitched as he stepped closer, closing the gap between them, as he placed his hands around her waist.
“Y/N L/N, I love you. So so much, it pains me. I love you, so so so much, you make me forget whatever the hell is happening, because you always take up my thoughts. You’re the light of my world; you helped me when no one else did. I love you, you are my everything.”
Y/N looked back at Woo-Jin, eyes glassy, unable to find the words to answer back at his confession.
“Please, Y/N, let me love you. Let me be yours. I’ll love and protect you, until my last breath.”
He took her hand in his, bringing it up to his lips to place a chaste kiss atop her knuckles, before bringing his hands back down to her waist.
“I love you, Woo-Jin. I love you, of course I’ll be yours.”
Woo-Jin let out a relieved laugh, giving her a big grin as he enveloped her in a bone-crushing hug. The world stopped spinning in that moment, as the two best friends, now turned lovers held on to each other. Stars paused their twinkling to watch, planets stopped spinning to admire.
Pulling away suddenly, Woo-Jin cupped her cheeks, looking into her eyes for permission, which Y/N graciously gave with the nod of her head. And he pressed his lips to hers, the both of them smiling through the kiss. Y/N held on tighter to Woo-Jin, pulling him closer to her as the kiss closed in on its end. Pulling away, the pair gasped for breath, resting their forehead on the other, giggling as they held on to each other.
“I love you.” Y/N whispered.
“I love you too.” Woo-Jin whispered back.
The universe seemed to applaud their union, as the two of them embraced each other, their connection as strong as the earth’s will to revolve around the sun.
Now it really felt like it was just the two of them, against the world. And against the world they’d go, and love each other, as they did so.

jang wujin x gn!reader
genre: fluff
warnings: none!
request: can you make "wujin and y/n doing tiktok trends"?? plss thank you ! i love your work btw <3
Tumblr media
you know that boy know every dance trend that ever existed in this app.
he tried to convince his sister to make these trends once but obviously she denied, so he never tried asking her again (yup i sense he's kinda scared of hari sometimes)
so the first person who comes to his mind is you! you couldn't deny your boyfriend, right?
yeah he's right, you didn't denied. at first you thought he would just do it with you once, but it become very casual of him since you accepted recording with him.
you as well record and post videos with him on your profile, but never get much likes as he's (he's doing numbers ofc)
so there's this couple trend were one of them sit on the other's lap when they're playing or something.
but he was the one to sit on your lap, which resulted in your legs dying and he spitting milions apologies after hearing your hissing.
after this you two busted in laugh and obviously woojin posted it.

summary: it takes a ton of teasing from his friends, just so woo jin can confess his feelings
warning/s: non that i know of (please lmk if theres warning that i’m not aware of! would be very appreciated)
a/n: also idk if its Woo jin or Wu jin, please someone lmkk!!
dae su teases woo jin nearly everyday when y/n would pass by the two, whistling a “go get em’, tiger” which only resulted to a harsh slap on the neck.
woo jin reassures them that it’s nothing, it didn’t really convince them that it was nothing but they had better things to do and left the scene.
there was once an instance that involved not only dae su, but also su hyeok, cheong san and gyeong su.
“look they’re coming by, why don’t you go ask them out?” gyeong su teases the flustered woo jin, getting shoved in return.
“stop staring, its rude.” cheong san closes his pals mouth shut “you’ll catch flies”
the group laughs loudly, except for woo jin.
“you know, y/n is really attractive, so smart and admired by many. if you don’t ask them out soon, i will.” the two boys look at each other, dae su patting woo jins shoulders, trying to lessen the tension between them.
“get lost.” woo jin goes back to eating his bowl of stew.
“what was that about?” cheong san asks his companion, it was random since su hyeok never showed any romantic attraction for y/n, always so busy making doodles on his notebook to notice the many schoolmates who would  court him.
“just to rile him up” a cheeky smile appears on the boys face, nearing his ears.
no one seems to notice the worried glances jang woo jin would spare towards the person whom he was infatuated with.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
‘would you meet me up the roof after class?’ - secret admirer :)
y/n read the texts on the crumpled piece of paper, the hand writing was messy but you could always tell who it was from.
it wasn’t hard to miss the longing stares and love-sick eyes from their classmate, jang woo jin.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
woo jin was bent over, huffing breathes after running a flight of stairs. the boy looks up to be met with the back of his beloved.
“maybe, i do like you… a lot” y/n whispered loud enough so the boy behind them could hear, a sheepish smile and flustered cheeks, turning to the boy whom they enamored.
a mischievous grin formed onto woon jins face “sorry, what was that? couldn’t hear” he teases them.
harshly, y/n slaps his arm—to which he groans in pain as a result— “i said, i like you stupid.” they crossed their arms looking away.
“aish, i knew you were so whipped for me” woo jin said proudly, puffing out his chest, the cute smile that danced across his face.
“ah, i see, so you don’t like me back?” y/n points out the fact that he hasn’t declared his reciprocated feelings.
“was it not obvious?” woo jin was shocked to hear the ‘news’ always thought it was very well known. “oh i do know, i just want you to admit it”
and as much as woo jin wanted to keep his pride up, he also dreaded this mutual pinning. he grabbed y/n by the collar of their shirt before pressing his lips into theirs, swiftly placing his name tag into their hands.
“see you in class, don’t wanna be late” now it was y/n’s turn to face their beloveds back, a pink flush appearing onto their cheeks, quickly catching up with their now-boyfriend “wait up, dummy!” they link arms with woo jin while walking down the stairs.

(A/N: This is a short one, more like a headcanon type(?) since I need a break from all of that studying)
Studying with Jang Wujin would include:
You'd definitely get coffee first from your favorite café
Both of you usually study at his place
Sometimes, your study area is at their living room but both of you usually prefer his room since you get comfy working at his bed while he occupies the study table
He borrows your notes since it is organized (and pretty)
Both of you get to studying right away
You're so focused on annotating (or highlighting) your books that you don't notice him staring at you
He gets distracted so often (one, from his gadgets and the other one would be you)
"Wujin, please get back to studying"
"But I am babe. I am studying your beautiful features"
He definitely made you smile but you knew that he needs to get back to studying
So, you quizzed him using the flashcards you made
When it comes to math problems, you're the one who needs focusing
He teaches you some of the techniques Joon-yeong had taught him
You were happy when you finally solved the problem right
Study breaks consist of snacks (food depends on what you were craving)
Then, cuddle session afterwards until both of you fell asleep
I just fcking want a Wujin in my life rn

When the Dead Come Knocking || Kang Wujin
Part Two
Part 1 part 3 part 4
Pairing: Wu-Jin X Reader
Genre: horror, gore, fluff
Warming: Death, violence, cursing, blood
Summary: Nam Chae-Young had an obsession with everything gore since she was a little girl, little did she know that one normal day at school would turn into the worst day of her life. Fighting to survive shouldn’t the that hard, right?
“I can’t see!” Chae yelps, she was pulled by someone and when her eyes focused again, she seen Dae-Su. “Here!” he called, pushing himself halfway through a classrooms door, where Wu-Jin stopped him from getting it.
“It’s brother- in- law and future gi-“ Chae- Young slaps Dae-Su hard. She knew the moment he figured out that she had a crush on Wu-Jin, her life would be over.
“Sorry!” Wu-Jin pulled them in. Min-Jae fell to the ground thanking God. “What happened to you?” Wu-Jin asks, Chae was too busy wiping her phone screen.
“Chae!” Chae looks to see On-Jo running to her, the two sisters embrace one another tightly.
“What’s happening?” On-Jo asks, examining her sister for bites. Chae huffs and pushes her hands off her,” I’m okay. Some crazy fucker blasted us with a fire hydrant! Can you believe that?” she explains annoyed. On-Jo bit her lip to suppress a giggle.
“I’m glad you’re okay,” On-Jo smiles, hugging her sister briefly.
Chae finally got to get a proper look at everyone who was in the room; Na-Yeon, Gyeong-Su, Joon-Yeong, I-Sak, On-Jo, Min-Jae, Dae-Su, Wu-Jin, Ji-Min and Hyo-Ryeong. How did this happen? One normal day turned into complete hell in the blind of an eye?
Two loud bangs on the window caught them by surprise. Gyeong-Su and Wu-Jin ran over to investigate.
“You scared me, fucker!” Gyeong-Su huffs, pulling in someone from the window, Chae turned around to see Su-Hyeok, who then pulled up Nam-Ra. How did so many students happen to find this one classroom?
Soon enough everyone was searching for a phone. After watching every struggle, Chae holds up her phone. “Seriously?” Cheong-San takes her phone and dials 911, then it died. “Great Chae, maybe if you didn’t spend your whole life on TikTok, you’d have battery left!” The two started arguing amongst themselves until Nam-Ra announced she found a phone.
“Try her birthday!” The phone belonged to their classmate. “What’s her birthday?” Cheong- San asked and they all fell silent. He sighed and looked to the door where he spotted her. He walks over and tries to use Face ID.
“Hold it closer. “Su-Hyeok suggests.
“I hate to break it to you, but that’s like using Face ID on a ghost,” Chae laughs,” Plus, you don’t need a passcode to use emergency services. “
“You wait this long to tell us this? You like seeing us suffer?” Dae- Su asks.
“Well one, I didn’t think y’all were that idiotic and two, everyone knows that.”
On-Jo took the phone and tried to call their father.
“Shouldn’t you be blocking the door?” Cheong-San slaps Gyeong-Su on the back of the head. Gyeong-Su flips him off and runs back to the door, but a Professor quickly runs in.
“Oh, thank God, are you kids okay?” he asks, barricading the door. “Come on, help,” he stacks chairs onto desks. The students were quick to help apart from Chae, she was worried about her other best friend.
Flashback
Chae-Young could feel his presence behind her. Of course she knew who it was, he had this aura that made her wanna pull her hair out. Looking up, her eyes were met with Yoon Gwi-Nam, he pulled out a seat and sat down,” You’re smart,” he scratches his neck, not sure if this’ll work.
“Smarter than some,” replied Chae. “I need you to tutor me,” Gwi-Nam coughs, trying not to give a snide comment that’ll ruin his opportunity at ever getting a good enough grade to impress his parents.
“Why?” Chae puts her chopsticks down and squints her eyes suspecting him to do some sort of sick prank on her.
“Just do it, please,” that surprised Chae, Gwi-Nam never had manners. He was a bully so far he had done nothing extreme, but there was always a chance.
“Okay, “ Chae agrees,”but I want something in return,” Gwi- Nam rolls his eyes.
“No,” he gets up to leave,” You expected me to just do something for you without getting something in return? Fine, find someone else to tutor you. “Chae chuckles and goes back to her lunch. She knew absolutely nobody in the school would ever tutor Gwi-Nam, not even if they were offered billions of won
Gwi-Nam huffs and sits back down,” You’re good, Princess,” he smirks with a laugh.
“I heard your little bully friends were choosing their next victim,” her eyes fall over to where On-Jo sat,” my sister and her friends. I know you’re a coward, but tell him that they’re not worth his time. “ she raises her eyebrow looking at him waiting for an answer. “Deal?” She holds out her hand.
“Deal,” Gwi-Nam shakes her hand after a long, hard debate with himself,” I thought they were your friends too? You don’t have friends, huh?” he asks, watching her go back to eating.
“They are my friends, I just wanted alone time today. Plus, every friendship ends the same, once they see you’re no longer of their use, they throw you over the edge and I don’t intend to be thrown over the edge. “ she shrugs. “Call me Princess again and I’ll pull your teeth out.” She adds and gets up to clear her tray.
Chae and Gwi-Nam became the best of friends as the years went by, she was the only one who looked at him like he meant something. Chae stuck around long enough and actually got to know him. His father was always at work and verbally abusive, his mother only cared about his grades. She was a cold heartless bitch. Gwi-Nam was many things, but he was never a dick to Chae. He always made sure Myeonghwan didn’t target her. Gwi- Nam taught Chae how to fight and look after herself. He whined and bitched when he found out she was possibly a better fighter than he was. On-Jo obviously disapproved of her friendship with Gwi-Nam, but she knew trying to boss around her sister wouldn’t work.
They would do stupid shit together. Go to convenient stores late at night and go to the parks late to play around which ended up with them being chased out by the guards. Gwi-Nam cared for Chae deeply, he knew about her silly crush on Wu-Jin and pushed her around on it. He was a good person, but Chae distanced herself when the bullying around school got out of hand. When Jin-Su attempted to end his life, Chae had enough, she didn’t know about anything else the bullies did. But she had to distance herself.
“Hey, wanna go to the park tonight?” Gwi-Nam throws and arm over her shoulder.
Chae shakes her head,” Not feeling well,” she lies.
“Bullshit. Who’s giving you a hard time? Need me to beat them up-“
“I have my period, I want to be left alone. “ she takes his arm off her.
“Okay. Call me when you’re home,princess. “.
Gwi- Nam was a good friend her. She just wished he had listened when she said to get away from his bully friends. Deep down Chae was hurting, she just wished Gwi-Nam treated people how he treated her.
End of flashback
Chae-Young noticed blood on the Professors sleeve alongside some bite marks. She grabs On-Jo’s arm and pulls her back. “Sir… y- your arm,” Chae points.
“It’s fine it’s just a scratch,” he looks at the students around him.
“Don’t lie. Those are teeth marks,” Chae points to his sleeve.
“Leave. Please leave. “I-Sak points to the door. The professor scoffs and steps forward,” I’m fine. “
“Leave!” Chae snaps.
“Fuck you!” The professor shoots back,” I’m fine!” Again, a lie. On-Jo gets her school bag and whacks him in the head with it.
“Stupid bitch!” he charges for her, Chae stands between him but he fell to the ground and started twitching.
“Stand back!” Cheong-San pulled the girls back. The professor got up again, this time he was a zombie. He charged at Min-Jae and started biting her face.
“No!” Chae pulls him off her,” Y-You’re gonna be okay,” she sniffles, now panicking, cradling her best friend.
“I don’t wanna die. Please, I don’t wanna die,” Min-Jae cries. “Ah!” She screams and does the same thing the professor did. The sickening noise of bones cracking filled the classroom. Cheong- San held the reanimated version of the professor against a wall with a chair.
“No, Min-Jae!” Chae felt her heart shatter into pieces as Min- Jae’s body started twisting in inhumane ways, she jumps up and lunges at Chae. The two girls topple over a table. Chae winces as her back hits the ground hard.
“Chae!” I-Sak pulled On-Jo back. Min-Jae was torn off of Chae by Dae-Su. He could see the pocket knife jammed into her neck. Chae’s vision became blurry as she stood up, tears poured down her face. “I’m sorry,”’she sniffles, pulling her knife out again and jamming it into Min-Jae’s skull. She wished she didn’t have to do it, but she knew it wasn’t her best friend anymore.
Wu-Jin walks over and pulls Chae away, she clutched into him and sobbed. “We need to get out of here. “he whispers in her ear. Chae nodded and they all readied up. Chae fixes her backpack and takes On-Jo’s hand.
-
“Fuck, shit!” Chae hisses as she pushes zombies away forcefully as On-Jo was reaching to grab the hose to break the lock. On-Jo runs back and starts hitting the lock until it popped open. She grabs Chae by her cardigan and they all ran into the class.
“Ah, I’m so tired. “Gyeong-Su complains, taking a seat beside her and laying his head in her lap.
“You’re just lazy,” Na-Yeon interjects.
“He’s no-“
“I’m lazy? Me? Says the one who’s been sitting there doing nothing. “ he argues back.
“Both of you shut up!” Chae snaps, she was tired of hearing Na-Yeon complain all day as it was and now she’s stuck between them having a lovers tiff.
“I’m not one of them,” I-Sak says and walks to a mirror.
“What?” Chae stands up, causing Gyeong-Su to bump his head on the chair. He rubs his head and stands up too.” I’m not, On-Jo,” blood started coming from I-Sak’s nose, On-Jo ran and hugged her best friend rightly as tears fell from her eyes.
“I wouldn’t bite you, why would I bite you?” I- Sak was scared. “I- I’m not like them,” she cries.
“Maybe you hit your no-“ On-Jo yelped as I-Sak did exactly what Min-Jae did. I-Sak got back up and ran for On-Jo. Wu-Jin pulls Chae back and Cheong- San battled with a zombified I-Sak. Eventually she was flung from the window and On-Jo grabbed her hand.
“On-Jo, let go!” Both Cheong-San and Chae- Young ran over and grabbed her so she wouldn’t fall. On-Jo was too upset to speak. She gripped onto I-Sak until Cheong- San moved for a moment and grabbed a chair. He started hitting I-Sak until she fell to the courtyard below.
On-Jo walked away followed by Chae, who just wanted to comfort her sister. “I have nobody now. Nobody is alive that I like. “On-Jo cries. Chae felt a pang in her heart at her sisters words. They have been best friends since the womb, quite literally. “Y-you have me and dad,” Chae softly smiles.
“You’re just my sister,” On-Jo buried her head in her arms and cried silently.
“Screw you,” Chae mutters and walks to the under end of the classroom.
-
“I’m not going without her,” Chae looks down at the rope, then back to On-Jo, “I’ll bring her, go,” Cheong-San assures her, patting her back.
“If I fall, I’ll stab you,” Chae was terrified of heights. She jumps up and steadies herself before slowly climbing down. Wu-Jin and Dae-Su pulls her down.
“Oh god, I didn’t die,” she hugs Wu-Jin happily, grateful she didn’t die, and watches On-Jo step in. The student’s waited for what felt like an eternity for Cheong-San. But instead, corpses flung down. Chae covers her mouth in shock.
Did she just witness Cheong- San die?

Keep Going
(AoUAD fanfic)
Jang Wujin x OC
"Wujin."
"Yes?"
"I'll save you from the monsters."
Tumblr media
Park Minha was an expert at two things: Volleyball & Having a Hopeless Crush. But she wasn't prepared, no matter how many movies she'd seen, for zombies. Not that it'll stop her from trying to save Jang Wujin. She just has to try and keep trying. Fight and keep fighting. Go and keep going.
← 001. →
Minha was a team player. It was what made volleyball so appealing and important to her. There was something so refreshing about being a cog in a perfectly oiled machine; the non-players just didn't get Minha on that level. She prided herself on her communication style, and never failed to do her best to uplift her teammates. They had a shared goal on and off the court, they understood each other, and Minha would always protect that dream. Even the boys' team was lassoed into her protectiveness.
Outside of her teammates and fellow volleyball players, Park Minha had very few friends. At least, according to her definition of friends- that was something she learned after moving in with the Jang family. Before moving here, she considered most people her friend if she had a conversation with them, or they hung out now and then, or they only had one hyper fixation in common but could spend an almost endless amount of time only talking about the one thing. Here, friendship was more about consistent, quality time, nearly all the time. There was such a focus on school and career aspirations that there wasn't much time to waste on being everyone's friend. Acquaintances were more likely, and most friendships were same-gendered.
That was also strange to her; there was a distinct line between presumed genders, and while some were close regardless of the line, the exceptions were few and often led to dating rumors that made closeness uncomfortable. It wasn't that boys and girls couldn't be friends, just that they were never best friends; there was something about commonality that made mixed friendships a little more difficult to pursue. And of course, there was always the chance that one person was never interested in "just friends" but something more. No middle ground existed in that scenario, not when everything in a teenager's life here was considered so important that any slip-ups could derail your entire future. It was strange to her because, where she came from, that brand of awkwardness could happen with any friends, regardless of gender. And most relationships were considered pastimes. The future felt further away back home; in Korea, the future was always right around the corner, waiting for you. She kind of liked that sometimes- before coming here, she felt like none of her decisions mattered. Here, there was weight. On one hand, it was often too heavy, and the priorities of many adults were like sandbags on the shoulders of the youth. It made being a teenager feel like rolling a ball up the hill. On the other hand, it was somewhat liberating to have a seriousness attached to her choices; she wasn't being dramatic for studying so hard, her paranoia wasn't making her practice all the time, she was just focused.
Her host family had tried to teach her about the differences. While they'd mostly succeeded, she wasn't easy to reign in on all fronts. Her host parents were easy enough to respect, but she loathed the practice of respecting all adults. That was something common back home, but a more liberal society meant it was more encouraged to stand up for yourself. Here? As a more conservative nation over all, unruliness was typically discouraged. It was about putting in the time, doing what was expected, and just pushing through. She'd been with her family for three years, and the culture of being obedient to your seniors was one of the toughest pills to swallow.
That, coupled with the frustrating isolation that came with being a student- always terrified to fail- made her sometimes question her choices. But then she'd see her family at a match, or cry with her teammates after a game well-played, or Jang Wujin would buy her a snack just because he thought of her, and she'd be content again.
Jang Wujin- her host brother technically, but primarily one of her only two friends. Hari was also a friend, but she thought of her as a sister so strongly that it almost didn't count. Park Minha had Wujin and her team manager, fellow senior Jung Jiwoo.
Jiwoo had accepted every little quirk that made Minha stand out, from her half foreign features to her usually off putting displays of platonic affection. Jiwoo thought it was funny when Minha cursed in English, and she always helped her with history homework. For Minha, Jiwoo was a buoy, and she was happy to have that stereotypical, "my best friend is all I need" friendship with her. It was one more step toward being just like everyone else. Jiwoo was a godsend, along with her ability to make Minha feel better without ever asking. She always knew when Minha was in distress, or when she was feeling especially embarrassed. She could always sense if Minha needed saving from a social blunder or borderline awkward interactions. Minha could always rely on Jiwoo, and Jiwoo knew Minha would return the favor. It's what made their friendship so sweet; devotion that makes them grow.
They trusted each other, they rescued each other, and they held each other's secrets. Including Minha's teeny tiny crush on her one male friend and second line bestie. Jang Wujin would be the death of her. He was annoying, and frustrating, and always acted like he was embarrassed to be around her. He even had the audacity to show up to her games, and make a secret handshake with her, and be very handsome. Stupidly handsome. But also her host brother? So excruciatingly off limits. Most of the guys here were off limits. For one, she was a foreigner for all intents and purposes. And for two, she was an athlete, focused on one goal. National Team or bust. So she would tuck that little crush as far into the back of her mind as possible. It could wait until the season was over- better yet it could wait until it was dead and gone, because it would be too embarrassing to speak it into existence. Only Jiwoo could know how genuine her feelings were. And it would only distract Minha. National Team or bust. Don't get distracted.
------
"Wujinah!" Her voice rang across the pavement. Minha's high ponytail swished behind her as she all but skipped to the boy's side. The area was teeming with other uniformed students as they traveled to their next class or practice, groups and pairs mingling about here and there. Wujin and his own friends were in the middle of talking about plans to hit up an arcade soon, switching to rowdy greetings as Minha approached. It was no surprise when she delicately wrapped her hands around Wujin's arm, grinning up at him warmly; this kind of affection was expected of her by now. She was a touchy-feely person after all. But that didn't stop the boys from nudging each other as she spoke only to Wujin, "Do you mind staying a little late today? My practice is gonna be longer than expected- we're having a scrimmage with a team from Yangdong."
"I can't do that, noona. I already have plans." He avoided eye contact with her and gestured to his friends.
Daesu could be heard snickering as he whispered "noona" to the other boys, elbow slightly digging into Wujin's side. Wujin could feel his ears burning- a feeling that only increased as the older, but much shorter girl whined.
"You always have plans, Wujin."
The snickering returned.
"If you already knew the answer," he pushed her hands off of him as subtly as he could and stepped an inch further from her, "then stop pestering me." The gathered boys oohed at that, sounding impressed as amusement flooded their faces in his favor this time.
Daesu threw an arm over his friend's shoulder, "my brother-in-law owes me food, noonim. He has to keep to his word." It was a clumsy attempt to make her feel better.
Minha's hand wrapped around her opposite elbow, looking meeker than she realized, but still smiling nonetheless, "I should've known better." Her giggle filled the air around the group, an exaggerated shrug following.
Wujin watched her face to see if she was ok, immediately deciding he should at least be somewhat apologetic to his senior and unofficial friend, "I-"
"Minha!" Jiwoo was walking by with two seniors from the boys volleyball team as she waved Minha over, "we're heading in, come with us!"
The small girl smiled again, this time seeming brighter than ever, nodding her head before stepping away from the juniors around her. She waved cutely, the sleeve of her jacket dwarfing most of her hand, "have fun after school!"
Enthusiastic goodbyes resounded from the boys she left, each of them somewhat mesmerized by her swishing ponytail and steadily carefree nature.
She didn't spare Wujin even a glance as she happily ran to her friend and fellow athletes. He ignored the pang he felt as she joined the other group and began walking away, linking her arms with the two boys' and chatting away about something probably volleyball related. It wasn't like they were real friends, despite her claims that he was one of her only friends. He knew she was just messing with him. Her attention, though platonic, often made Wujin feel pressured, particularly in public. It was different when they were at home and he didn't have to be interrogated over every interaction, no matter how many times he told his friends to ignore it and write it off like he did. Everyone knew she was just the overly friendly type, common amongst foreigners, and that embarrassing Wujin was fun. He shook his head before elbowing Daesu, "stop calling me your brother-in-law!" The group fell into laughter again.
As Minha's group traveled further away, she felt her shoulders start to relax. She was prattling mindlessly about wrapping techniques, anything to push yet another embarrassing moment out of her head. The boys linked with her had ample opinions on the matter, and she was glad to be distracted. Jiwoo laughed when asked, insisting they were the experts. But Jiwoo also knew the signs. When they locked eyes and Minha shrugged in self-deprecation, Jiwoo blew a raspberry, knowing exactly what would lift her friend's spirit.
The group entered the gym, still playfully debating material differences. The boys leaving the girls behind as their coach began stretching exercises, Minha's sweater pawed hands sent them encouraging thumbs ups and a shout of "kill it!" And so, Minha could finally reflect on Wujin's treatment of her.
"Minha, let's get food after practice!" Jiwoo wrapped her in a side hug, being taller than Minha, she slouched over the girl.
Minha pretended to be out of strength and struggled to walk a little, "Jiwoo! You can't just land on me like that! I'll get shorter!"
On first glance, most would guess that the shorter of the two was the manager, with Jiwoo being so tall compared to her. But closer inspection would reveal Jiwoo's gangliness and tendency to knock stuff over as she hadn't quite figured out how to be graceful. Minha's hands also looked rougher, having put in countless hours of work hitting a ball. She also had more shapely legs, needing the muscles to launch herself higher in a game that favored the tall. It was a point of insecurity for Minha. The other girls on the team weren't necessarily tall per say, but their legs were also more slender. She chalked it up to her genetics. She also bruised more easily, which couldn't really be avoided in this sport. All of the girls had come to terms with being beat up by the floor, it was a part of the game. And so, whenever she wasn't on the court or practicing, she wore pants to cover her legs. She'd love to wear a cute skirt for once, but the stares her bruises get just made her so uncomfortable.
Jiwoo's body weight doubled in force, knocking Minha out of her thoughts again, "I'm gonna make you pocket-sized and take you everywhere with me!"
Their giggles followed them into the locker room. All thoughts of how Wujin pushed her off of him, trying to distance himself, were temporarily moved to the back burner. Remembering the ache of rejection would only distract her. Time to focus.
------
Ok! Still kinda starting out, but don't worry! We're gonna get there! Just laying some foundations.

If We Ever Meet Again
Jang Wujin x reader
(A/N: It's my first ever imagine so pleaseeeee bear with me and sorry for any grammatical errors as well. Also it's kinda angsty)
Also, the reader is a hambie (or a half-bie)
-----------
Your group have been running non-stop from the zombies, you've lost too much from your friends and you can't afford to lose more. As of this moment, you have decided to make a stop and fight the zombies instead.
Mi-jin was ready with her weapon, Ha-ri was also ready with her shovel. The rest immediately grabbed some shovels and hammer nearby. Despite your current condition, your boyfriend, Wujin stood in front of you with his makeshift weapon in a protective stance.
"Wujin, you don't have to worry about me. I can handle myself" you muttered as you place your hand in his forearm.
"I know baby, its just that I still want to protect you the best that I can" he looked at you with sincerity in his eyes. You slightly smiled at his answer but it was soon interrupted when you and Nam-ra heard growls.
"They're coming" Nam-ra uttered as she stood in front with Suhyeok. "I don't hear any thing" Dae su said as he steadies himself due to his earlier injury.
Just then, zombies were running towards you one by one. Compared to their number with your previous encounters - they're fewer in number. But you still don't want to take any chances, despite your group being almost the same number as the zombies. You immediately attacked the zombie that approached On-jo, lifting it easily with your bare hands and slamming it in a nearby wall. Your new found strength comes in handy during these type of situation but you're still getting used to it.
"On-jo, go with Hye-ryeong. I can take it from here" On-jo immediately went to Hye-ryeong helping her hit and smash the zombie. Your eyes can't help but frequently land on your boyfriend who was busy fighting a zombie as well.
Everyone was busy fighting off zombies when a scream was suddenly heard.
"Noona!!!" Wujin screamed as he ran towards his older sister. You knew that he is going to save his sister but you also knew that there's a higher chance that he is going to get bitten. So, you ran as fast as you could, doubling your speed as you kick and grab the zombie away from Ha-ri. Nam-ra helped you as well by snapping its neck.
Ha-ri was definitely shaken, and Mi-jin went to help the older Jang sibling up.
"Noona! are you okay? you scared the living shit out of me" Wujin uttered as he hugged his sister. "I'm okay wujin, thanks to (Y/N). She saved my life". Ha-ri approached you then hugged you as well. You were definitely surprised by the action since you and Ha-ri rarely do hugs, despite the closeness that you two have.
"Baby, are you okay? you didn't hurt yourself did you?" Wujin uttered worriedly as he checked for injuries. "I'm okay baby. You do know that I should be the one who's worried about you? You almost got bitten today" you told him. "I wouldn't be able to handle it if you got bitten too." you added.
"Don't worry about me baby." he muttered as he held both of your cheeks. "I still want to be able to recognize you. And...I know that this is so soon but I want my future to be with you". He smiled then kissed your forehead. You were definitely getting teary-eyed from his confession since you also see a future with him.
You and Wujin started off as friends. Both too scared to confess to each other until your friends took it upon themselves to make you confess to one another (definitely another story to tell). Either way, you were both thankful for them since being in a relationship with him brought a new color to your life.
"I love you, Wujin" you spoke. "I love you too (Y/N)" Wujin answered as he leaned in to kiss your lips. You returned the kiss while wrapping your arms around his neck. The kiss was cut short when you suddenly heard a voice.
"(Y/N)"
"(Y/N)"
"Eat him, eat all of your friends."
You frantically looked around upon hearing that voice. But as you look around, your eyes became hazy and the idea of eating your friends came in to mind.
"what's wrong?" Wujin asked
"Nothing, it's n-nothing"
"Are you sure?" He asked once again with concern in his voice.
"Yeah I'm sure" you answered as you held his hand. The thought quickly leaving your mind.
"Hey lovebirds! let's leave before any zombies attack us once again" Mi-jin called.
You, Wujin and the rest once again ran in the hopes of escaping the city. Just then, the voice have spoken once again in your head.
"Eat (Y/N). You haven't eaten for days."
"Eat them, eat your friends"
Wujin was running ahead of you and you can't help but look at his neck. Fighting every fiber of your body not to bite him. The urge was getting stronger, and you almost reached out and grab his arm to bite it. You couldn't control it any longer, so you came to a halt and bit the palm of your hand instead.
Your eyes began to water, and reality also struck you that you need to stay away from your friends, and from your boyfriend. Despite their trust in you. You, on the other hand, don't fully trust yourself. You knew that despite having control, there will always come a time that you'll hurt your friends and thinking about it alone made you feel guilt and the tears streaming down your face flowed even more.
You can't handle the thought of hurting them, so you ran to the opposite direction.
-
Meanwhile, Suhyeok and On-jo was also busy looking for Nam-ra. The group came to a stop once once Suhyeok and On-jo went looking for her. Wujin suddenly realized that you were also no longer with them as well. He ran immediately towards the path Suhyeok and On-jo took.
"Heyyyy where do you think you're going?" Mi-jin shouted
"Brother-in-law!! wait for me!!" Dae-su screamed as he ran following the younger Jang
Mi-jin was about to follow as well but was stopped by Ha-ri. "We should wait for them here"
"But-"
Mi-jin immediately shut her mouth, not having enough energy to argue with Ha-ri.
-
"(Y/N)!!!"
"(Y/N)!!"
Wujin called looking for every corner of the alley for you. He doesn't even know why you separated from the group. And he was extremely worried if anything bad happened to you (although he knew you can handle the zombies).
He was panting from all the running that he did. He was about to run to the left corner of the street he was on when he saw your form crouched down to a lifeless body while eating its guts out.
"(Y/N)" he called approaching you.
You heard his voice. The voice that became your favorite over the past few years. You thought it was an illusion, maybe another trick that your mind came up with. But you stopped eating the guts of the lifeless body in front of you to look at where Wujin stood.
Both of you stared at each other. You felt guilt and shame for fulfilling your hunger - and the fact that your boyfriend even saw it, didn't make it feel any better.
"Why did you run a-"
"You should go back, Wujin" you answered before he even finishes his sentence.
"No, I'm not leaving without you." Wujin held both of your shoulders. "Please baby, come with me"
"Wujin, go. leave without me" your voice was trembling, tears were already forming from your eyes. "It is much safer for you guys, if I stay here"
"No, don't say that. What about you?? You're not safe here as well"
"I am Wujin. Because I am fucking one of them!" you whisper-shouted, voice trembling as you let your tears flow freely. Wujin's eyes began to water as well - hurt was evident in his eyes. It pains you to do this to him, to hurt his feelings by deciding to stay. But you know deep down that it's for the best.
"Wujin, listen to me. I felt something a while back. The urge to eat you, our friends and the voice in my head keeps on pushing me to do it. I'm afraid that someday...I might not be able to control it." you whispered looking at his eyes. "And Wujin, my decision to stay here doesn't mean that I don't love you anymore."
Wujin was already crying at this point. He doesn't want you to leave ever by his side. He wanted to be able to hold you, talk to you, kiss you everyday. Show you how much he loves you. He planned on so many things before this shit show ever happened. He planned on taking you to the movies to see the new Spider-man movie since it was your favorite and he even marked his calendar for the opening of the new cafe near his home since he knew how much you love coffee. But most of all, he already planned spending the rest of his life with you.
"Wujin, I love you so much. I'll always think about you even if we're miles away" you caressed his cheeks both of you in a crying mess.
"I love you too (Y/N), so much. Please don't ever forget about me" his voice barely a whisper with his last sentence.
"How could I ever forget you? We're soulmates, remember" you smiled. Wujin did not waste anymore time, he immediately cupped your cheeks and captured your lips in a passionate kiss. Your hand immediately tangled his hair as your lips moved in sync. The kiss lasted for a minute and Wujin gave you soft pecks. He finally rested his forehead into yours, savoring the last moment that you both have before going on to your separate paths.
"Brother-in-law!!!" Both of you heard Dae-su's voice and you knew that it was time for him to leave.
"Wujin, Go! before any more zombies could see you"
He kissed your lips one last time before hugging you.
"This is not the last time, right? we'll see each other again" His voice hopeful. "We'll see each other again, my love" you smiled at him reassuringly.
Wujin took one last look at you before running to the direction of Dae-su's voice.
Four months later...
The group successfully made it to the quarantine facility. They were questioned a lot of times first before they were able to settle in. It takes a lot of getting used to inside the camp, but they were glad to be able to have each other.
Wujin stares at the picture in his hand, it's a picture of the two of you on your anniversary date that you printed out on photo paper. You always wanted to keep memories of the important events in your life that's why you always print them out and paste them in your scrapbook. Wujin thought that it was oldschool at first, but he grew to appreciate it, especially now that he lost his phone at school where most of your photos were stored.
"Hey Wujin, are you alright?" Suhyeok pat his shoulder as he sat beside him. Suhyeok understood Wujin's longingness for his girlfriend. Nam-ra did not return to their group as well, after the incident that she had with On-jo. Just like (Y/N), she also felt guilt from what she did, so she immediately left without saying goodbye.
"I miss her" he spoke as he continue to look at the photo. "I know, I miss Nam-ra too" Suhyeok spoke.
"Do you think they found each other?" wujin asked, the boy beside him was about to answer but was soon cut off when On-jo asked them if they wanted to come with her at night.
"Where?" Wujin asked. "At our school. Last night, while I was strolling through pathway, I saw that there's a bonfire at our school's rooftop"
"Could it be?"
"There's still people going to our school?"
The two boys spoke at the same time. On-jo shrugged "We'll find out once we get there tonight. So, are you two going?"
"Yeah" they both answered. "So that's why you're nowhere to be found last night" Suhyeok smiled as he spoke to the girl who once felt awkward talking to him due to her having such a huge crush on the guy.
"Just don't let the others know about this" she spoke before leaving the two alone.
Night time came, as On-jo approached the meeting place. "I told you not to tell anyone" as she approached Suhyeok "I told Dae-su not to tell anyone about it"
"I told Hari noona about it, she deserves to know - turns out brother-in-law already told her" Dae-su sighed in defeat. "What about her?" On-jo pointed at Mi-jin who was smoking on the corner.
"She threatened me if I didn't tell her" The older jang shrugged
The group went on their journey to their abandoned campus. Upon their arrival at the rooftop, a bonfire was already made at the center.
"Someone's already here" On-jo spoke
"Could there be someone who came here as well? Like one of our classmates?" Dae-su asked
"Who knows? They possibly feel the same way as us" Hye-ryeong answered
"I think Nam-ra made the fire" On-jo spoke as she was searchig for the said girl around the roof top
"Are you sure?" Suhyeok was hopeful in every way that he could see the class president once again
"I'm sure. Remember when we we're gathered here with the bonfire? She told us that she would love to do it again"
The group was busy searching for Nam-ra or whoever it was that made the bonfire. On the other hand, Wujin was hoping that Nam-ra was with his girlfriend. But there's also that feeling that was lingering inside him for four months - fear. The fear of losing his (Y/N) for good. He quickly dismissed his thoughts and went with his friends.
"You made it" the familiar voice made everyone turn their heads to the person who spoke it
"Nam-ra" On-jo smiled at her
"You guys really took so long huh?" Another voice spoke that made Wujin's entire body froze.
There you stood infront of him, still wearing the school uniform just like Nam-ra but sporting a blue hoodie that was a bit big for your size. Wujin wanted to cry, maybe this was all just another dream - that you were just a product of his imagination. He misses you so much that maybe he is hallucinating? But your sudden touch made him come back to his senses. You were real - not just a dream or an imagination.
Wujin wasted no time, so he kissed you. It was like the first kiss you two shared all over again. The kiss was passionate and your lips slowly move in sync with his. After the kiss, Wujin gave your lips a small peck, then your nose, then lastly your forehead.
Your foreheads rested on each other and a smile was plastered on both of your lips. You can't help but get teary-eyed as well, you missed him so much. The past few months were the roughest months you've experienced. Along with getting used to your new found abilities, you're still learning how to control yourself - and accept the fact that you're no longer a normal human. Despite being with Nam-ra and the rest that were also hambies, you can't help but feel lonely at the absence of your friends and boyfriend.
"Aishhh, brother-in-law stop having her all to yourself...we're still here you know? Dae-su interrupted your moment to which you just giggled while Wujin was scowling at him for ruining the moment
"I missed you guys too" you spoke as you approach them. The smile never leaving your face. You were all busy catching up with each other when Nam-ra suddenly spoke
"We have to go" she looked at you sadly, knowing all too well that it would affect you once again.
You look at Wujin who was already looking at you with tears in his eyes. Another Goodbye that both of you must endure.
"I-I have to go" you spoke in a shaky voice
"Can you just stay with us? Both of you?" On-jo asks while holding Nam-ra's hand. Nam-ra shook her head "We can't, they're waiting for us down there. And besides, we're friends even if we're far apart right?"
On-jo nodded and the rest answered in unison.
"Baby, please...stay with us" Wujin pleads, tears already streaming down his face
"We need to leave, my love" you wiped his tears. Your own tears were streaming down your face. "I would love to stay but I still can't" you caress his cheeks "I don't fully trust myself to be with you guys just y-yet" you leaned in to kiss his cheeks
"When can I see you again?" Wujin asked, you knew that it was uncertain, they might be leaving the quarantine camp soon and you don't have any mobile device to communicate with
"I don't know when, where, or how are we gonna find each other again. Especially when you're about to leave the quarantine camp soon" he cupped both of your cheeks while his thumb wipe your tears "Which is why I'm not also opposed to the idea of you find-"
"No" He stated firmly. "I'll wait for you even if it takes a long time because (Y/N) believe it or not, you're it for me"
Now you're a crying mess. This was one of the things that you once feared, before any of this shit show ever happened - you fear that Wujin doesn't feel the same when it comes to your future together. But his confession earlier was a proof that it was the complete opposite.
"You're it for me too, Wujin" you both smiled. A bitter-sweet moment it is.
"We should get going" Nam-ra held your arm while the others were all sadly waving.
"Bye guys, let's meet again soon" you spoke as you and Nam-ra prepare to sprint towards the edge of the rooftop. You took one last glance at Wujin before sprinting and then jumping afterwards, both you and Nam-ra were met by your company before disappearing into the night.
2 years after...
Wujin was walking down the busy street of Seoul. He just got out from his afternoon class and is now headed towards his shared apartment with Dae-su. His older sister considered trying out again and fortunately was able to make ot to the finals. Dae-su's crush on her is still there and stronger than ever, but Wujin has this feeling that his sister already fell for his friend, she just doesn't want to admit it.
As for Mi-jin, she was able to get into college, and was able to have a change of heart right after that. She still smokes though. As for him, Dae-su, On-jo, Suhyeok, and Hye-ryeong -all of them are now a freshman in college. The five of them stuck with each other, I guess having shared trauma made them more closer somehow. But they're just glad that they still have each other.
They still can't help but miss their friends, especially those who are still alive which is why they make it a deal to have dinners as a group atleast twice a week.
Wujin is so close to his destination but he suddenly felt his stomach growl. So, he went ot the cafe near their apartment. He ordered the cafe's special pastry and some iced ammericano - as he sat down his seat he took out the photo that was inserted in his phone case. It was the same photo, the anniversary photo that you two took. Oh how he wishes to see you right now, he misses you so damn much and there's not a single day that he missed wishing for you to appear right infront of-
"Hey, is this seat taken?"
"No, you can ha-" his words were cut short when he realized who that voice belongs to
"Hi baby, did you miss me?"
