Jaws-level vertigo shots are *still* my favorite cinematic parallel to see pop up every season on Sex Education (so far)! I wonder if we'll get a chance to see it return in S4, and if so how it will be used?! 🎥

TILL DEATH - Review
DISTRIBUTOR: Screen Media
Tumblr media
SYNOPSIS: Emma is stuck in a stale marriage to Mark, having met when he represented her in a criminal case. She is surprised when he whisks her away to their secluded lake house for a romantic evening on their 10th anniversary. In the morning everything changes when Emma finds herself trapped and isolated in the dead of winter, the target of a plan that gets more sinister at every turn.
REVIEW: TILL DEATH, on its surface, is reminiscent of the film “Gerald’s Game,” which was based on the Stephen King novel. The adaptation of the novel to the screen was missing much of the charisma, charm, and character insight found in the novel. Unlike being left handcuffed to the bed after her husband has a heart attack, Emma is left chained to her dead husband and what she is dealing with is far more sinister than simple ghosts from her past.
Screenwriter Jason Carvey does an excellent job of creating a character study of a woman caught in a vortex of her husband’s design. Emma met her husband, who represented her, when she was a victim of a violent crime. Over the past decade the pair have grown distant, yet Emma still has feelings for him and ends an affair. Emma begins to feel better about their marriage as they share a pleasant and romantic 10th anniversary celebration that culminates with a special evening at their secluded lake house. The following morning the nightmare begins to unfold when Emma wakes and her husband commits suicide. Emma finds herself now chained to his corpse. Carvey slowly peels off the layers and we get to see just how meticulous her husband was in planning this all out and the elements he has set in motion. Much like King’s story the action is centered all in this one location, and much like Jessie in his novel Emma has an awakening and must fight for her survival. Emma is more of a survivalist and has to deal with not just obstacles, but additional villains and the environment.
Director S.K. Dale does an outstanding job of keeping the action moving as he maintains a heightened level of suspense. He captures some compelling performances that feel organic and true to character. There are some seamless edits and camera work that allows the story to flow and keep the viewer engaged. The filmmakers do an amazing job of blending what has to be sets and locations. The outdoor sequences are amazing for all that the action entails.
Walter Mair’s original score is amazing. The movie begins with very little music and builds as the tension and drama builds. It nicely accentuates the films action sequences and, while you often hardly notice it in the background, it simply adds to visuals and the character’s emotional state.
TILL DEATH is clearly a vehicle for actress Megan Fox. Most of my memories are from her work in “The Transformer” films, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot, and her TV work such as “New Girl.” Her work here is on a different level than anything I can previously recall. It is intense, ground, and feels very organic. She has some action sequences that are as tight as anything Milla Jovovich or Kate Beckinsale have achieved. For all the hustle and muscle, she comes across as a thinking heroine. She has a couple of snarky lines but they don’t come across as total throwaway lines just to get a reaction. It’s a solid, layered performance that makes for an engaging view.
The rest of the cast is good, but the limelight is on Megan. Eoin Macken plays her husband and is only in the first act, but still gives the impression of a tormented soul that is tormented by hidden demons. Callan Mulvey, a veteran TV actor with several superhero film credits, does an excellent job as the villain possessed by his past and killing for a way out.
S.K. Dale’s TILL DEATH, from the screenplay by Jason Carvey, is a fresh take on a woman in peril story. Solid directing, major studio worthy production values, and a stellar performance by actress Megan Fox make for a solid view. There are some nice twists and turns, and the fact that Emma is a character that problem solves as well as knows how to fight adds a excellent level of complexity to the narrative.

Leicester 3-1 Fulham: Jamie Vardy scores 100th goal for Foxes as Fulham lose again
There has been some discussion at Leicester about Jamie Vardy's total number of goals for the club before the kickoff. Some had it on 98, others 99.
Vardy scored against Manchester United in the Community Shield, but the club did not officially count it. (Pity with the person who had to have that conversation with him.)
So Vardy did the honorable thing and scored a support against Fulham to bring him in one go to a century of Leicester goals and also Brendan Rodgers to victory over his first home game that is in charge.
[bewerken] [lijst toevoegen] [bewerken] [lijst toevoegen] share [bewerken] [lijst toevoegen] -three system at Watford, Rodgers moved to the familiar form of Leicester for his first home game. Demarai Gray replaced Wes Morgan with an additional attacker and Rodgers clearly instructed his players to push high.
It was a strategy that worked repeatedly in the first half, with Fulham vulnerable defensively and offering room to Jamie Vardy in the back. In one move, Leicester won the ball back and James Maddison and Harvey Barnes exchanged a quick sequence of passes before Vardy was forwarded. Only a salvage from Havard Nordtveit saved the situation for Fulham.
But in the 21st minute Fulham paid for the re-cut. Wilfred Ndidi was sharp on Calum Chambers in the midfield and seized the opportunity to slip through Vardy. Vardy signed Sergio Rico and saw Tielemans running in his peripheral view, rolling the ball square. Tielemans put Tim Ream aside and went in for a stylish finish.
Leicester continued to create without completely putting Fulham on the sword. The shot from Maddison from the distance went just wide and Vardy saw his finish blocked by Joe Bryan after Ndidi had won the ball well again. Rich defeated a Tielemans strike. Leicester (4-1-4-1)

Nordtveit made a great pass to the wing and Ayite went past Ben Chilwell with his first touch, in a rare result for the left back Leicester. Ayia continued to enter the area, controlled Harry Maguire and then benefited from deflecting the English defender.
Caused thus unexpectedly influenced Leicester, and tension crept into their game.
Tielemans, who was loaned from Monaco until the end of the season, found it just in the 21st minute of the game
The player of Leicester congratulates Tielemans after their early goal to put them ahead against Fulham Eventually Fulham shot himself in the foot 12 minutes after the time. Perhaps encouraged by his previous success, Nordtveit tried a wide pass from the defense, but this time he was poor and intercepted Maddison. With his head up I played it straight away with Vardy, who went free and beaten to a fantastic shot past Rico.
Vardy got his 100 with four minutes left. Barnes kept kicking brilliantly by Schmeichel and muscle by Denis Odoi. In the box I threw the ball into Vardy, who first glided in with his left hand, making it look much easier than it was.

Premier League Tactical Preview: Arsenal to overpower Man Utd and other key battles
(New post on FreeBetAlerts.com) - https://freebetalerts.com/2018/12/03/premier-league-tactical-preview-arsenal-to-overpower-man-utd-and-other-key-battles/ #Football, #Freebets, #Tips
Premier League Tactical Preview: Arsenal to overpower Man Utd and other key battles Please share.
. looks ahead to the 15th round of Premier League matches, predicting a tough 90 minutes for Manchester City at Watford… “Lucas Torreira, dominant against Spurs, can take advantage of the disconnect between the United midfield and attack to ensure Arsenal maintain pressure, but it is Ramsey – restored to his favourite number eight position – who can make the most telling contribution.”
Watford v Man CityTuesday, 20:00Live on BT Sport 1Injuries have begun to disrupt Manchester City’s flow and despite beating Bournemouth at the weekend their opponents were competitive for long periods, adequately holding Pep Guardiola’s side at arms length. Watford’s dreadful run of one point from four matches ensures the visitors are heavy favourites, and yet Javi Gracia’s narrow 4-2-2-2 should make this closer than anticipated. For the first time in a while, Gracia’s tactical stubbornness gives the Hornets a possible advantage.City struggle to build through the middle without Kevin de Bruyne, often relying on the crossing of Benjamin Mendy (now injured) or the instinctive centre-forward play of Sergio Aguero (also injured). As their usual attacking tactics slow down, narrow formations – such as Bournemouth’s 5-4-1 – can shut down the half-spaces and make City seem a little flat. Consequently Watford’s box-shape midfield may keep the score at 0-0 for a long time. However, Watford’s narrow system inevitably leaves gaps in wide areas. Over the last two games right-back Kiko Femenia has been consistently beaten by Leicester’s Demerai Gray and Sadio Mane, and so Leroy Sane – back in form with two goals and two assists in his last four games – should win the one-on-one. Expect Sane’s movement to outwit Femenia, eventually leading to the German firing one of his low crosses in for a City goal.Man Utd v ArsenalWednesday, 20:00Live on BT Sport 1Unai Emery’s second half switch to a 3-4-1-2 against Spurs saw Aaron Ramsey make runs ahead of the Tottenham midfield to combine with Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang; together, they formed a front three that constantly looked to run off the shoulder and receive quick forward passes. Arsenal should continue with this fluid attacking system against Manchester United, ensuring they out-battle their timid opponents.Jose Mourinho was remarkably negative against Southampton, starting with seven defensive players on the pitch and a back five – which is why Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford were so isolated and why Paul Pogba looked lost in possession. If that’s how Mourinho approaches Southampton then presumably it will be even more cagey when Arsenal come to Old Trafford, which means the Gunners have the chance to swarm and harass them into submission. Lucas Torreira, dominant against Spurs, can take advantage of the disconnect between the United midfield and attack to ensure Arsenal maintain pressure, but it is Ramsey – restored to his favourite number eight position – who can make the most telling contribution. The Welshman will break beyond the struggling Nemanja Matic, creating the sort of overloads that led to all three of Arsenal’s second-half goals on Sunday. Wolves v ChelseaWednesday, 19:45The main reason Wolves have won one point from their last six Premier League matches is Nuno Esperito Santo’s predictability. He picks the same 11 in the same system for every game, and inevitably opposition managers have started to work out how to nullify them. But it gets worse: such consistency means they struggle to cope with forced changes, which is why Ruben Neves’s suspension spells disaster for the Midlands club.Neves has played every minute of the 2018/19 Premier League season while his partner, Joao Moutinho has missed just 44 minutes in the 2-0 defeat to Huddersfield in late November. Wolves are ill-prepared for a disruption in this department, especially given the replacement will be 18-year-old Morgan Gibbs-White. The youngster is technically gifted, is unlikely to cope with the speed and fluency of the Chelsea midfield; Gibbs-White failed to make, or even attempt, a single tackle in 45 minutes against Huddersfield.Maurizio Sarri’s team are back in their groove after a comfortable win against Fulham, whose inability to track Jorginho highlighted the brilliant jobs done by Dele Alli and Gylfi Sigurdsson recently. Wolves, with an inexperienced two-man midfield and low on confidence, won’t be able to suffocate the Italian, which means plenty of time on the ball for Matteo Kovacic and Eden Hazard down Chelsea’s left. A comfortable win for the visitors with early goals seems likely.Fulham v LeicesterWednesday, 19:45Fulham have become more resilient since Claudio Ranieri took charge, with Callum Chambers moving into central midfield (12 tackles, six interceptions in the last two games), but they remain a work in progress. Jorginho ran the game at the weekend, outmanoeuvring Tom Cairney to combine with Kovacic and wear down the visitors. Leicester City should be able to similarly take advantage, using Chambers’ flat-footedness to get James Maddison into the game. The 22-year-old scored the second goal at the weekend and, following a slow few weeks for the England U21 player, weaved through a congested central midfield with aplomb (three successful dribbles). Fulham are highly likely to give Chambers too much to do, while Jean-Michael Serri is error-prone and vulnerable to being caught in possession; it is easy to imagine Maddison getting on the ball in dangerous positions to slip Jamie Vardy through on goal.Vardy is also back in form, scoring in each of his last two league matches, and his most significant contribution against Watford was running clean through on goal to earn a penalty in the 12th minute. It will take a few more weeks at least until Ranieri has strengthened Fulham’s soft centre – or made them capable of defending the Maddison-Vardy partnership.

Celtic defender Jack Hendry has joined the Scotland squad to replace injured Aberdeen counterpart Michael Devlin.
Devlin was set to earn his first cap alongside club-mate Scott McKenna in the Nations League game in Albania.
Hendry and Hamburg’s David Bates will now compete to join McKenna in central defence, although Celtic’s Kieran Tierney is also an option in that role.
Devlin joins Craig Gordon, Charlie Mulgrew, Kevin McDonald, Stephen O’Donnell and Ryan Jack in withdrawing.
Scotland were already without forwards Steven Naismith and Leigh Griffiths, with Tom Cairney not selected as he returns from a lay-off.
Speaking on Tuesday, manager Alex McLeish said: “We have the nucleus here and that’s important.
“We are going to concentrate on the guys who are in the squad and pay them our upmost respect. I really trust them.
“We know what’s at stake. We have two really big games ahead of us and I know that we can do it if we played to our best.”
Scotland visit Albania on 17 November and host Israel three days later.

Magyar válogatott - Leekens tovább kísérletezik. Lesz-e fordulat a skótok ellen?
Leekens: Lesznek változások a kazah meccshez képest, új játékosokat is szeretnék megnézni.

A két korai gól kizökkentette a magyar csapatot”

SCOTLAND 0 COSTA RICA 1
THE last time Costa Rica beat Scotland by a solitary goal it wrecked the nation’s World Cup bid in Italy 1990.
Alex McLeish played for Craig Brown’s team that afternoon and he was on the receiving end again tonight when he returned to take charge of the international side in the friendly at Hampden.
It was a low-key encounter that didn’t ignite until the second-half when McLeish sent on Celtic double-act Stuart Armstrong and Callum McGregor as 58th-minute substitutes for Scott McTominay and Tom Cairney.
They added some attacking oomph to the outlook, but it still wasn’t enough on a disappointing second coming for McLeish.
There was no sign of any Celtic players in the Scots line-up at kick-off, but Cristian Gamboa was in for the visitors in hus usual right-flank berth.
Alex McLeish went with an experimental starting side and handed debuts to Scott McKenna, Scott McTominany, Kevin McDonald and Oli McBurnie.
The team found difficulty in getting into their rhythm in the first-half while the much more experienced Costa Rica outfit sat back and controlled a lot of the play.
McBurnie, who has scored six goals in eight games for Barnsley since January, looked lively, but lacked support going forward.
WHAM…Scotland new boy Oli McBurnie slams a shot wide of Celtic’s Costa Rican international Crostian Gamboa, but the keeper made a fine save.
McTominay, with his Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho watching from the stand, spent most of his first 25 minutes for his adopted country helping out in defence, but he still looked assured and poised when he brought the ball into enemy territory.
Andy Robertson, as ever, looked busy on the left wing while Andy Ritchie toiled to make an impact on the right.
Scotland were undone in the 14th minute when the visitors took the lead with a remarkably simple goal.
They worked the ball neatly up the left, Bryan Oviedo had too much time to look up and pick up Marco Urena and he guided a low shot from 12 yards wide of the stranded Allan McGregor.
The nearest Scotland came to levelling in the first-half came in the 17th minute when Matt Ritchie swung in an inviting right-wing corner-kick.
ON THE ATTACK…Callum Paterson menaces the Costa Rica defence.
Callum Paterson raced in to get a free header from six yards, but he failed to hit the target when he should have worked Real Madrid keeper Keylor Navas.
The hard-working McBurnie did bring the experienced No.1 into action when he swept in a low angled right-foot drive that he managed to bundle clear low to his left.
Scotland stepped it up after the interval and Armstrong and McGregor helped raise the tempo.
McGregor came close to setting up an equaliser for Ritchie in the 65th minute with a perfect pass into the path of the Newcastle winger, but he went for power instead of precision and Navas got his hands to the ball to deflect it for a corner-kick.
McLeish sent on Matt Phillips, John McGinn and Jamie Murphy for McBurnie, Charlie Mulgrew, captaining the side for the first time, and Ritchie as he tried in vain to snatch a draw.
Now all eyes are on Budapest for the friendly with Hungary on Tuesday and possibly the new era for Scotland has just been delayed.

Successful Installations
1. Sand In Your Eye by Andy Moss and Jamie Wardley
Together these two British artists produced this incredibly powerful visual display at the D-Day landing beach of Arromanche in France. The two developed this concept, entitled The Fallen, in honor of International Peace Day (September 21), as a reminder of what happens in the absence of that peace.
What this installation did well: honored the fallen.
2. Better Out Than In by Banksy
This exhibit occurred on the streets of New York, the British artist took over a delivery truck and turned it into a slaughterhouse installation. Sixty plush puppets of cows, chickens, pigs, lambs were seen moving their heads through wooden slats.
What this installation did well: Brought awareness about slaughterhouses.
3. Love Mondays by Gemma Cairney
Commuters in London were treated to a delightfully colorful surprise one June morning, when the London Bridge was turned into a rainbow pathway stretching 300 meters across the Thames River. The cheery installation was “dedicated to spark joy in everyday city life.” Cairney and her collaborators were up bright and early to make sure the rainbow road was in place by the time commuters were on their way to work.
What this installation did well: Spark Joy on a dismal Monday morning.

Rangers' Jack drops out of Scotland squad
Nations League League C, Group 1: Albania v Scotland Venue: Loro Borici Stadium, Shkoder Date: Saturday, 17 November Kick-off: 19:45 GMT Coverage: Listen on BBC Radio Scotland; live text commentary on BBC Sport website
Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has withdrawn from the Scotland squad for the Nations League double-header with Albania and Israel.
The 26-year-old, capped twice, was selected on Sunday evening following a spate of call-offs.
“Ryan played the whole game for Rangers on Sunday and has picked up an injury,” explained manager Alex McLeish.
“It’s unfortunate. He’s back in the Rangers team and has something to offer the squad in different positions.”
Jack was added to McLeish’s pool, along with Scott Bain, Scott McTominay and David Bates, after Craig Gordon, Charlie Mulgrew, Kevin McDonald and Stephen O’Donnell dropped out with injuries.
Scotland were already without forwards Steven Naismith and Leigh Griffiths, with Tom Cairney not selected as he returns from a lay-off.
“We have the nucleus here and that’s important,” said McLeish.
“We are going to concentrate on the guys who are in the squad and pay them our upmost respect. I really trust them.
“We know what’s at stake. We have two really big games ahead of us and I know that we can do it if we played to our best.”
Scotland visit Albania on 17 November and host Israel three days later.
Israel lead League C Group 1 by three points but have played a game more than Scotland.

Scotland win 'a step forward - now they have to take another'
A scratchy 1-0 would have done. A flat, ugly grind. A late fluky winner. Given the mood of the nation, and the now customary soul-less atmosphere at Hampden, Scotland would have settled for that.
It was grey and damp and it was a little bit cold on Monday. Safe to say that many in the 17,000 crowd would have arrived in the expectation of seeing more of a slog than a show.
For Alex McLeish and his players the mission couldn’t have been simpler. Just win. Just find a way – any way – of avoiding the catastrophe of dropped points at home against Albania, a draw or a defeat that would have finished McLeish’s Nations League campaign at the first hurdle and brought with it a new kind of venom directed at the manager.
They did. What happened was, in the recent context of the national team, a pocket of joy. We were concerned that these players might have suffered psychological damage by being coursed around Hampden by Belgium three nights earlier. No.
We were concerned that the ability McLeish had in his first incarnation as Scotland manager of getting his team to play brave and ambitious football was gone forever. Hopefully not.
We were concerned about a lot of things. The lack of wit and goals and victories. The fatalism that is Scotland’s curse – Gollum in football boots. McLeish didn’t wave a magic wand and dispel all doubt on Monday, but what his team achieved was an entertaining and at times classy win that gave life to their Nations League hopes. That was enough. It was better, a lot better, than many would have imagined.
Scottish FA opts to keep games at Hampden[1]
‘I’m building a wall, not papering cracks’ – McLeish[2]
Scots’ ‘energy’ a blueprint for success[3]
McLeish has to be commended. He went with Kilmarnock’s Stephen O’Donnell and O’Donnell was a buzz-bomb, a terrific presence in the team. He went with Steven Naismith and, his eye-watering missed sitter apart, the Hearts striker scored one and assisted with the other, even if he was offside at the time. A slice of luck? Scotland will take it all day and all night. He made big calls in his team selection and he called them correctly.
The Scotland manager has cut a bit of forlorn figure as he’s tried to cut his way through the thicket of friendlies that were placed in front of him like thorns growing through barbed wire. Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, Belgium. Only in the world of the SFA would that schedule make sense when you’re trying to build confidence after another failed campaign.
He has some respite now. That high-energy performance against Albania has to be added to in Israel next time out before the national team can hope to win back the disaffected among their support, but it was an impressive beginning.
If McLeish is trying to do his bit with the team, then his bosses have to play their part elsewhere. Ticket prices and choice of venue remain a major turn-off for supporters and that’s something they need to address, something that McLeish can do nothing about.
McLeish ‘ready to create a new team and new formation’
<!–
McLeish said he is trying to build something new[4] rather than papering over the cracks of what he inherited. He’s right. Scotland’s team against Albania was full of vast experience at club level but precious little experience at international level. That’s an issue and it looks like the manger is intending to attack it.
Five of his starting line-up on Monday are still in single figures in terms of caps. Two more who began against Albania – Kieran Tierney and John McGinn – are just about in double figures. Others who might come into the reckoning in the near future are callow in the ways of international football. Scott McTominay, Ryan Fraser, Ryan Jack, Stuart Armstrong, Graeme Shinnie, Tom Cairney, Jack Hendry, Jamie Murphy, Scott McKenna, Oli McBurnie and Kenny McLean. None of them are battle-hardened in the Scotland jersey.
McLeish looks like he’s ready to create a new team and a new formation. He appears to be keen on picking his 3-5-1-1, or tweaks therein, and a core group of players and sticking to it as much as form and injury allows. He wants to build the feeling of a club in the frame of a country and work on familiarity and togetherness. A bond, in other words. A bond that might get them through some tough days ahead.
So, Allan McGregor is his goalkeeper and he starts the important games. And, in most instances, he plays three at the back – John Souttar, Charlie Mulgrew and Tierney with McKenna another option when he’s fit.
He is wedded to giving the Tierney and Andrew Robertson combination on the left a proper chance as opposed to ripping it up and putting Tierney to right-back in a flat back four. It looks like Kevin McDonald, John McGinn and Callum McGregor are his go-to guys in midfield. Some more excellence from O’Donnell and he could well join that group.
When the Northern Ireland manager, Michael O’Neill, was asked about the reasons behind the success of his very moderate team in reaching Euro 2016, and then progressing into the knockouts, he pointed to their canniness on the field.
Most of them had 30, 40, 50 caps. Some had many more than that. They weren’t rock ‘n’ roll footballers, but they knew the reality of the international game and as players, and as people, they were close. The whole was greater than the sum of the parts. They had an underdog spirit and it took them to a place where Scotland haven’t been in two decades.
O’Neill fielded a team rather than a collection of individuals and that’s where McLeish wants to go, too. In fact, he’s been there already. In his first stint in the job, Scotland won a lot of games because he built on the culture that was created by his predecessor Walter Smith. For that little spell, Scotland became hard to beat in the first instance and then added the bells and whistles – or James McFadden to give it another name.
One victory is a mere crumb in a time of famine, but it was fun watching on Monday night and how long has it been since we’ve said that watching Scotland has brought a smile to the face?
McLeish has taken a step forward. The challenge is to make sure the game in Israel next month sees him taking another.
