Nagisa? Nagisa? Are you there? It's so dark, I can't see. Call the doctor... I was stabbed by a scary monster... It looked human... but it was all white, and its mouth was split open. And it had a horn... Aaaugh! I was stabbed by a monster... Call for help! Nagisa, Nagisa... don't leave me alone. It hurts... It hurts. I'm scared. Why do I have to suffer like this? Nagisa, are you there? Don't leave me. I'm scared. Why is it always me? I'm scared, Nagisa. Nagisa. Answer me, Nagisa. Nagisa? Nagisa? You're there, aren't you? Nagisa Please. Answer me. Nagisa Nagisa Please. Answer me. Answer me, Nagisa. Answer me, Nagisa. Answer me... Nagisa.

Grimmjow: Why the hell didn’t you tell me you were pregnant with my kid?!
Ichigo: 1) We haven’t fucked!
Ichigo: 2) This conversation has already told me a lot more about Arrancar births than any of the crap the old man tried to about humans and at just a fraction of the time necessary, yet with all the same trauma.
Ichigo: 3) DID YOU JUST STEAL A CHILD?!
Grim: I CANT STEAL IF ITS MY OWN KID.
Ichigo: You sure as fuck can! And THAT is a HUMAN c h i l d!
Ichigo & Grim: *arguing*
Nagisa: …I should probably be more upset about this.
Grimmjow's furiously convinced that Ichigo has been keeping their actual child from him.
Ichigo is convinced that Grimmjow is attempting to baby-trap him and he is but he also isn't.
Nagisa is on the phone with Karma like "I have no idea what's happening but I think they might be trying to baby-trap each other with me somehow and I'm honestly okay with it."

hey, it's miu/nagisa now my name is clove. i want to explain my situation and why im an anti radqueer now. i dont want to debate, i just want to explain myself. i sent this to a radqueer blog as well.
it started when i made my first blog, @/transnpd. side note i think its silly that someone took my old url/pos. anyways, thats where it started. i was starting to go into an episode, and i had just discovered the rq community. i liked it, i felt like i related to some people. i was comp-c, and my main ids were transnarcolepsy and transnpd. i had delusions of being miu, but i tried to fight them at this point. people encouraged me, not mant people talked to me but i had a few supporters.
and now my second blog, @/purepunk and later @/puritypunks. this is where it got worse. people encouraged me and my delusions more and more, i had more and more supporters. during this era i mostly just coined things and made flags for them, i feel like most are lost to time though.
then the third blog, the big one, NAGISAISM (also nagisaisms and nagisa-ism) i was at the height of my multiple year long manic-psychotic episode. i had delusions of being a goddess, i refused to take my meds, and i was openly fucking PRO CONTACT. ew. and ALL of this was encouraged by my little cult (or im sorry "fult") following. i thought everyone loved me and i was famous, i could do anything i wanted, i was delusional and on top of the fuckin world. i loved it. but my mental health got worse and worse and worse. i got hospitalized at some point after getting fired for wearing radqueer pins after my supervisor asked me what they were and looked it up. i was MANAGING a place. i thought it was okay because of this community and my following who praised the gd ground i walked on. sure, you guys didnt MAKE me do it but you made me think it was OKAY.
the aftermath? well like i said i was hospitalized, put in the psych ward. i was given heavy doses of antipsychotics and bipolar medications, and slowly i started to see things clearly. im still transid, im still a paraphile, but im not the way i used to be about it, euggh even thinking about it makes me feel gross. anyways, yeah im an anti now
i'm so sorry that happened to you. radqueers will deliberately feed into people's delusions and won't take responsibility for it even though they know what they're doing is wrong.
i'm proud of you for changing and growing as a person. you will always be welcome on my blog.
i wish you well, and congrats on being able to leave the rq community.

Obbligato: Epilogue - 4 (END)
Writer: Akira
Season: Winter
Characters: Hiyori, Jun, Tatsumi, Nagisa, HiMERU
Proofreading: Remi + 310mc (JP) & Skyress (ENG)
Translation: Peace & hyenahunt
Tatsumi: Amen.
Tumblr media
[Read on my blog for the best viewing experience with Oi~ssu ♪]
Hiyori: Haha. Yes, do continue to lavish your praise upon our Jun-kun!
...Honestly, when I was first shown around Reimei Academy, I found myself feeling as though we'd gotten the short end of the stick.
At that time, we had nowhere else that we could go, so we'd no choice but to resign ourselves to it. That before we could escape from Hell, we'd continue to be trapped in its depths for a while longer still.
Tumblr media
Hiyori: But you see, as I walked along preoccupied with such melancholy thoughts, I happened to look out the window, and there I saw Jun-kun, dutifully practicing in silence all on his own.
The atmosphere of Reimei Academy at the time was truly dreadful — everyone seemed either dead inside, or they glared at each other with pure resentment.
Jun-kun was the only one with none of that air about him — instead he aspired only to improve himself.
Tumblr media
Hiyori: And what a beautiful sight he was... Of course, telling him that to his face would be too embarrassing — it'd go to his head and he'd never let me hear the end of it.
It was while watching this boy that I found it in myself to believe my decision hadn't been made in vain. That if there was even one person like him here, then perhaps it wasn't all so bad.
And so that's why I made the decision to enroll at Reimei Academy, with Jun-kun as my goal. Honestly, I was there initially to scope out Shuuetsu Academy, a school made up of nothing but Special Student elites.
But I found myself believing that I should start all over again at rock bottom and covered with mud, just like Jun-kun.
After all, when you're up somewhere so lofty and high, you'll fail to see what's truly important.
Tumblr media
Jun: And just what have you been so cheerfully badmouthing me 'bout, huh~?
Tumblr media
Hiyori: Goodness, I wasn't badmouthing you. You're simply being paranoid.
Jun: You swear?
Tumblr media
Tatsumi: That's right. I believe that you're rather important to Tomoe-san, Jun-san.
Tumblr media
Hiyori: It's true! You rank right after my family, namely Nagisa-kun and Mary!
Jun: I rank below a dog, huh?
Hiyori: If that bothers you so much, then climb your way up! Come now, put your all into it and work ever harder for my love!
Tumblr media
Jun: Shut it... It's not like I'm working hard for the sake of your love, y'know~?
I'm working hard so that I can be a better version of myself. Maybe my life looks all kinds of unfortunate and pitiful besides yours, but...
Tumblr media
That's precisely why I wanna become the best and strongest idol, so that someday I can declare that's who I am, loud and proud.
It's then that the hard work of my past self will finally all be worth it.
So I'm gonna work hard, right now. I'm gonna give it everything I've got — 'cause giving it all that I've got is all I can do.
Tumblr media
Tatsumi: That's right. Fufu, you truly do have no need for God's divine protection.
Tumblr media
Jun: You got that right. I don't need no God to save me — 'cause I'm gonna be the one who'll save myself.
Tatsumi: .......♪
Tumblr media
Nagisa: ... Shall we stop this idle chatter and begin recording, everyone?
... Though we could simply just rehearse today, and leave the actual filming for another day…
... We don’t have another day to spare, do we?
Tumblr media
HiMERU: HiMERU agrees. There is no time to be looking back on days gone by.
We must look towards the future instead, and live earnestly.
So long as we are allowed to do so.
Tumblr media
HiMERU: (Kaname. My poor, pitiable little brother. I shall take your place, at least for now.)
(I hope that one day, when you are able to walk once more, you will be able to live a little happier than before.)
(I'll arrange an environment in which you can, and secure a place for you in it as well.)
Tumblr media
HiMERU: (I am your older brother, after all.)
Tumblr media
HiMERU: (When you awake, when you're able to walk once more…)
(I won't fail this time. I'll make your wish come true.)
(Long have I lived alone, void of any dream at all — and now what was yours has since become my own.)
Tumblr media
Tatsumi: (... Ah, even though this is the same place as then, the same Reimei Academy…)
(It feels different. Right now, I feel so refreshed and full of energy.)
(Are you the one I should thank for that, God?)
Tumblr media
Tatsumi: (Our Father who art in heaven, you have always guided my life with your hand.)
(Dear fate, dear faith, I thank you for leading me to where I stand today.)
(We have faced much sorrow, despair, and tragedy.)
(Nonetheless, I stand enveloped in the warmth I had always craved. If this is reward for my piety, O God, then I truly could never detest you.)
Tumblr media
Tatsumi: (Even if it happens that God does not exist, and this is nothing but a series of coincidences…)
(Then I shall call those coincidences miracles, rewards, and love you all the more.)
(Amen.)
(Fufu. I shall do as Tomoe-san did and use Jun-san, whom he loves so much, as an example; I'll begin at the very bottom, crawling my way through the mud.)
Tumblr media
Tatsumi: (No matter how often he gets knocked down, how often he collapses, he still stands right back up.)
(I am forever grateful for that. Not only do I have God on my side, but friends as well.)
(Such invaluable friends who support one another…)
(Who share their warmth, and move forward with happiness in their hearts.)
(We shall walk together on this road, step by step.)

Something about cheese 🧀
I love the designs of witches in Madoka Magica. Gekidan Inu Curry, the designer for the witches, is a GOAT. Witches all have that paper vibe going on with them. So, let's list all the witches that appeared in the anime so that you can see what I mean by, "Paper Vibe™" (Also note I'm going by the wiki) + Gertrud
Tumblr media
+ H.N Elly (Kirsten)
Tumblr media
(Side note for Elly is that we actually see her 2 different forms [Should I call it forms? Idk]. The picture above is when Sayaka killed her and the other one is when she's inside the television. Also, the picture above only shows up for about a second.)
Tumblr media
+ Gisela
Tumblr media
+ Elsa Maria (Poor her, got murdered by Sayaka)
Tumblr media
+ Oktavia von Seckendorff (Seyiku.....)
Tumblr media
+ Izabel
Tumblr media
+ And of course, Walpurgis!
Tumblr media
But wait a minute.... I feel like I'm forgetting someone.... OH RIGHT! + Charlotte!!
Tumblr media
[Steppy steppy Homu] See those images? Now those are the #PaperVibes™ I'm looking for! Well except for Walpurgis who has 3D cog wheels instead of a paper vibe™. All witches look like this paper vibe™ but for the one I almost forgot; Charlotte, why is she the only exception to this rule? She's entirely animated like everyone else in the series. No other witch is drawn like this. She's the only exception when it comes to this rule. Well, the only NORMAL witch that is exempt from this rule. Ultimate Madoka's "witch" also doesn't follow the paper vibe™.
Tumblr media
It's more drawn than paper bashed. And that's ok since Madoka is the most powerful magical girl thus making this one, the most powerful witch. So of course, it's gonna break the rules, same with Walpurgis. It's also drawn with its difference having 3D rendered cog wheels.
So why does a normal witch get the animated treatment? By Goddess Madoka, EVEN HOMURA has the paper bashed witch.
(Thank God Homura got the paper bashed witch treatment, I am gonna throw hands if she didn't. Look how beautiful that is...)
Tumblr media
So why in Goddess Madoka's name does Bebe get the animated treatment, when we consider her, a normal witch? We can chalk this up to the animation team just wanting Bebe to stand out from the rest (Because she's the witch for the #IconicSceneAlert) and nothing more. Buuuuut... That's boring. So let me try to reason out why Bebe looks different from every other witch.
Tumblr media
[Let me yoink this witch]
Ok, so about Bebe.... Well, what about her? We have nothing to go on if we're only talking about the main series. We don't know anything about her apart from her personality and design. Her wish? Nothing. Her past? Nothing. So how do we talk about someone who doesn't have anything? Well, we go to another universe silly! Magia!~ Record!~ (Cue the SONG)
Tumblr media
Not that universe but another another one!
Tumblr media
There we go. MAGIA~! RECORD~! (NOW cue the SONG) The game one.
In Magia Record they expanded much more on Nagisa, giving her an event titled: Nagisa's Wish! (If you want to watch it)
Tumblr media
(Me and Nagisa have the same reaction after finding out the event is literally named Nagisa's Wish)
So, let's go back to her witch appearance for a moment. In Magia Record you fight her and EVEN in this game, they decide to make Charlotte look "normal".
Tumblr media
Most, if not all, witches still look papery even in the game. I say most and not all because of the NA shutdown and I have no idea of anything past Arc 1 Magia Record (I'm still finding free time to catch up to Arc 2). Doppels and Rumours ALSO follow the papery rule.
Tumblr media
There is one exception to Bebe's appearance and that is Nagisa's doppel.
Tumblr media
[Now that's the papery vibe™ I'm looking for!]
So why does Bebe have a different art style than ALL of the other witches? Let's go to her MGS in Magia Record (Metal Gear Solid!? No, Magical Girl Story)
So, in her MGS we see that she's being followed by a Pink Kyubey which we can safely assume is Goddess Madoka. Why can we assume that? First, her transformation (when you get her in the gacha). It starts with the symbol of the law of cycles.
Tumblr media
Second, it's literally Goddess Madoka pulling for her in her transformation.
Tumblr media
[Go get that 5-star girl]
She's also putting make-up on Nagisa and making her look human.
Tumblr media
Well not literally making her look human. You can read this as Goddess Madoka, preparing her to blend in because you know. She's half magical girl half witch already at this point. So of course, you gotta blend her in. So, we've made it clear that the Pink Kyubey is Goddess Madoka, watching Nagisa from afar. How important is Nagisa that THE Goddess Madoka, THE concept would get you to do work for her instead of another magical girl. Well firstly, she can't choose any of the 5, because Goddess Madoka is essentially killing the Magia Record version of them by putting another version in their body. Nagisa is the closest choice for Goddess Madoka because.... Because.....
Tumblr media
[LMAOOOOO I HAVE NO IDEA WHY. SAME MAMI, SAME. Look I get that Bebe is the closest to them because she killed Mami?? I mean you could say that to Gertrud, Esla Maria, Gisella. Every other witch could have fit the Bebe position. But I'm not complaining that they used Nagisa btw.]
But this does bring up the fact that Nagisa is special in one way or another.
Ehemm... Back to the topic at hand.
So why does Bebe have a different art style than all the other witches. One theory I have is that Charlotte, the witch, has more control over their witch body compared to other magical girls. Like she's more accepting of what happened to her compared to other magical girls. She succumbed to despair, just like any other magical girl. But unlike the others, she chose to bathe in despair. Enjoy it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[From Magia Record - Nagisa's Wish]
Other magical girls wallowed and grieved in despair. Not Nagisa no. She accepted this despair because there was nothing more she can do, there was nowhere for her to go anymore. She lost everything. So, when she became a witch, she was more in tune with it. She was more welcoming of her faith than other magical girls. (Ehem Homura, ehem...) Can you blame her though?
If everything in your life went wrong and then suddenly for a moment. Everything went your way. Would you not want to stay in that moment forever?
In her witch labyrinth she could eat all the cheese she wants.
For her, cheese was equivalent to her mother's love.
I mean, her mother loved cheese.
Tumblr media
She on the other hand, didn't. After becoming a witch, she began to see cheese as a symbol of her mother. She loved chasing cheese; she loved eating cheese.
For her, chasing cheese began to symbolize her wanting to get her mother's love. That is why she's so obsessed with it. All she wanted was to go home with her mother.
Tumblr media
Her life was a tragedy and she saved herself from it. By ending her tragedy of a life, she began a new and better life.
She could eat all the cheese she wants.
She could have all the snacks she wants.
She could choose from the varieties of cheese in the room!
This is the HapPiEst she has ever been!
Why would she deny herself this happiness?
The princess has finally found a place where she can happy! The End
Tumblr media
Bonus!! So, while I was looking for a screenshot for the end of my post. I saw this happy Nagisa. And I thought to myself... "Wait a minutos, why is she happy? Shouldn't she have memories of everything that happened?" Well, for a fact she does. I mean, Sayaka remembers everything, she just forgot because Homura made her forget. Homura didn't do it to Nagisa. So, it's safe to assume she does remember. So, she's happy because Homura won? Not exactly. In rebellion the scene with Sayaka and Kyoko where she interrupted them, she said.
Tumblr media
So, if we go by what she said. We can assume she doesn't care about the Rebellion event. She's just happy that she gets to exist again. Back in 2015, the Madoka concept trailer.
Tumblr media
The happiness Nagisa wants is not in Heaven. It doesn't exist there. So, when Homura to dragged Madoka down, she destroyed Madoka's "Heaven" where Nagisa lives. She now lives in reality again. Where she can eat cheese again and experience all the things she never got to experience. So, for her, what Homura did is something that actually goes for her favor. We love a selfish cheese loving character.

Yea they all apply to me, explanations for my case below the cut if anyone somehow cares
So funny story. This Just recently happened. Xday (3 copies) -> Sugoroku (just Ibara, max copy) -> SS Fin on EN (Nagisa 3 copies) -> Absolute (in the process of max uncap, currently 3 copies). Am I still alive? Yeah. Am I miserable as fuck? Very.
Fragment without being obsessed over Bogie Time is like an angel without its wing. I was NOISY as fuck about Bogie Time for like 6 months until it drops on EN, I was fixating on optimising the grind for max uncap so much that I ended up in the top 20 by the end of it
If anyone dares to ask Fragment about anything related to gameplay, they will get a nearly incomprehensible essay on said specific topic. This has happened I-can't-count-with-my-fingers times
Big fan of Alkaloid but do I look like I will still be alive if I have to produce 14 characters. (Glances at Phantom Airship being the current EN event)
...Unfortunately I'm somewhat of an ENGstarrie (Tomatoes are thrown at me) I made my account during Bigbang and I somehow haven't missed a single event so... Yeha...
Remember point 3? Yeah those essays are made on the spot. I internalised them too hard.
...So I made a spreadsheet counting the total number of cards for each idol for personal use and currently planning to start a project by the end of this week to find out if live skills on DLFS are true RNG or if your performance during the prod. course determines the range of RNG. Yeah that sounds incomprehensible
DID YOU KNOW EVE FUCKING HATE ME? NOW YOU KNOW! DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I BEG THEM TO COME HOME AND YET THEY FUCKING DON'T. REMEMBER THE GUESSING GAME FOR 8TH ANNIV? YEAH THEY REFUSE TO LET ME GET ANY TITLE DURING THAT. ADAM WERE MUCH MORE TOLERABLE, GENEROUS EVEN (ignoring LNY Nagisa that dodged like 100 pulls.). DID YOU KNOW THAT OUT OF 4 SERVERS I'VE PLAYED, THEY'VE COME HOME THROUGH GACHA IN NONE. NOW YOU KNOW! NOW YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I HAVE TO FUCKING SUFFER IF I WANT EVERY SINGLE MEMBERS OF EDEN TO HAVE REMOTELY CLOSE NUMBER OF CARDS BECAUSE THE ONLY FUCKING WAY FOR ME TO GET THEIR CARDS IS THROUGH EVENTS. NOW YOU KNOW WHY SOMETIMES I JUST CALL MYSELF AN ADAMP BECAUSE EVE FUCKING HATE MY GUTS AND WANT ME DEAD
The only 3 other times I've seen someone else have the same hc as me are searching on Twitter dot com and the specific disorder tag on Tumblr. Good news is good to know there are people out there who agree on me about NPD Hiyori and Ibara. Bad news is that's it?
I have nothing to say other than I'm mentally ill and have dedicated too much time on this fuckass game.

[Translation] A Curious Step Forward
Tumblr media
From Kohaku’s “Stepping into the World” 4*! Written by: Chitose Umeda! Featuring: Kohaku and Nagisa! Season: Autumn!
Brief Synopsis: After receiving a mysterious letter from someone telling him to meet him in front of the museum to discuss something important, Kohaku is surprised to see Nagisa was the sender...
Tumblr media
Kohaku: Looks like they're not here yet.
Kohaku: (This all started out with a letter...I got it out of the blue a couple of days ago. All it said was "I have something important to tell you" and to meet in front of the museum today. The chances of this all being a prank aren't impossible, but it's weird that I'm the only person being called here to this museum.)
Kohaku: I've got no clue who it is, but if I've come all the way out here I'd like to see who--
???: Ah, I found you.
Kohaku: Eh?
Nagisa: --Ya-ho, Kohaku-kun. Thank you for coming today.
Kohaku: N-Nagisa-han? If you're calling for me, then the one that invited me here....
Nagisa: ...Was me.
Tumblr media
Nagisa: ....There's a special exhibit for ores and fossils happening in the museum now. I was looking for someone to accompany me...while I was thinking of who, I decided you'd be best since I've shared rocks with you before[1].
Kohaku: Thanks a lot for that. But Nagisa-han, I'm not the only one that's gotten rocks from you before right? Bon also said he's gotten one from you.
Nagisa: ...I suppose. However your schedule is also the easiest to follow. I can just ask Ibara.
Kohaku: Well, that's the Vice President for you. But then, what's the "important thing" you wanted...?
Nagisa:...I'd like you to accompany me in understanding how this ancient earth works through ores and fossils.
Kohaku: ? Why?
Nagisa: ...I believe it'd be easier to see the exhibit than to explain. Let's go inside, shall we?
Kohaku: S-sure.
Kohaku: (I haven't got the slightest clue how to respond! Is it really okay to be following him like this...?!)
Tumblr media
Kohaku: ...Wh-what in the world? There are huge bones hanging from the ceiling...!
Nagisa: ...What's wrong? Could it be that the skeletal display surprised you?
Kohaku: Isn't being surprised a normal reaction when something this big is dangling in front of you?! Th-those...aren't real bones right?
Nagisa: ...Well it's a replica, so not really. However these displays' shapes and sizes are meant to get as close as possible to the real thing...same for the colors. Paint is used to show the texture.
Tumblr media
Kohaku: Waaa, it's well made. Everywhere I look there's strange things I haven't seen before...I can't even think of what this is used for.
Nagisa: ....Kohaku-kun, is this your first time visiting a museum?
Kohaku: Yeah, I've never had connections to this kind of place. I remember you mentioned before how the "Antique Market" was kinda like a museum[2]. I think that was just limited to telling the history of idols.
Nagisa: ...That's right, but that carries its own value. This here is what a real museum is like...The lineage of Earth and humanity's history and art is all collected, kept, and displayed openly for the public to see...It's with these exhibits that we learn about the evolution of mankind and the earth...Of course, coming for fun is acceptable as well. Kohaku-kun, is there anything you wanted to see?
Kohaku: I wanted to see?
Nagisa: ...While I was talking to you, I noticed you seemed to be looking around you more. So I was wondering if something had caught your eye.
Kohaku: Umm. Not really, how do I put this. I...feel like I'm lost in a strange world. So I'm just looking around me because I don't know where else to look. It's kinda like being lost in a place where you don't understand a single thing around you...?
Nagisa: ...This museum, it's probably completely unfamiliar to you isn't it Kohaku-kun?
Kohaku: Like I was saying, I haven't got any connections to this place. I never did much studying[3], so I don't really get what the meaning of all this history is...When I ran out into the world and became an idol, I thought my worldview had gotten just a bit bigger.
Kohaku: But when it comes to going to a specific place, I'm lost all over again. I know learning is a part of life, but I know that whatever I've learned is still only a little bit.
Tumblr media
Nagisa:...You're the same as me, Kohaku-kun. I personally grow by absorbing knowledge and information everyday. But, there's also some fun to be had when tackling things that are unknown to you. Recently for me, it's been cooking.
Kohaku: Cooking? Nagisa-han?
Nagisa: ....Yes. Once I learned how to buy ingredients, my worldview broadened. I found more fun and interesting things...Kohaku-kun, I think your worldview will continue to widen.
Kohaku: My worldview...
Nagisa: ...As of now, your vision is only partially open. With a desire to dive in, chase, and push forward--that tenacity will bring to you an unseen future.
Kohaku: I guess you're right...I still don't know about idol culture or sense, and I still don't know my left from my right...but as long as there's the freedom to, then I might just meet something like that just like you said, Nagisa-han~
Nagisa: ...Fufu. Then, shall we see what you want to see and follow your sense of interest?
Kohaku: Eh, why? I thought you wanted to come here for the special exhibit?
Nagisa: Finding something you're interested in and gaining some new insight today would be the biggest reason for coming to the museum. Fortunately, the special exhibit is still open for a longer period of time, so I can come again another time.
Kohaku: Are you sure? But, when I look at the map I can't tell anything...
Nagisa: ...Then how about we go to the exhibit in the basement? There's space for even bigger skeletal and biological conservation models down there.
Kohaku: Really? They've got bones that are bigger than that? Uuuummm, now that you've said it, I am kind of curious. First we can start with that exhibit room so that we can learn the history and eras.
Nagisa: ...It's just around the corner down the stairs.
Kohaku: Got it. Let's get going...~
[1]: Referring to Kohaku's FS1 story which I've tled here! Nagisa gives Kohaku some amber! [2]: Referring to the conversation Kohaku and Nagisa had in one of the middle chapters of Antique Legend. [3]: Meaning "I never [had schooling/went to school]", but I didn't want to stray from the dialogue

@sailormiuccia asked for my thoughts on the possibility of new characters in Walpurgis no Kaiten, so let's go!
One notable thing about the original PMMM series is how tightly focused it is on the core cast--while there are still plenty of named side characters who play an important role in the plot, they get only a fraction of the screen time that the Holy Quintet does. I remember reading an early review of the series by a professional critic lamenting how "empty" Mitakihara is, but it fits nicely with the show's theme of magical girls existing in a liminal space separated from the normal, ordinary everyday world.
Ironically, PMMM has a much larger cast than many of the magical girl shows influenced by it, who took that same trend and dialed it up to eleven. PMMM gives us scenes of Madoka interacting with her family, or interactions with teachers and classmates, but the first season of Yuki Yuna is a Hero (2014) doesn't bother to give us any named characters outside the main cast at all; many of the adults wear masks on their faces to make them appear anonymous and interchangeable and most of the girls' actions with the shadowy organization responsible for the Hero System occurs via text messages. The first episode of Granbelm (2019), a magical girl mecha battle royale, doesn't show any adults at all--only adolescent girls--in its first episode at all. And so on.
Because PMMM is so tightly focused on its main cast, introducing new characters is a challenge. Rebellion has only one new character, the magical girl Nagisa Momoe--although I would argue she is not a completely new character, but a recontextualization of a character we already know, Charlotte the Dessert Witch. This allows her to slide nicely into the action with minimal exposition (especially important in a movie, which has a limited run time compared to a multi-episode series) and explains why she's hanging out with the main cast in the first place via Charlotte's established connection with Mami.
In spite of this, Nagisa has a pretty limited amount of screen time--even if we count her scenes as Bebe, she gets only a fraction of the focus of the Holy Quintet. It's not that her presence isn't meaningful or important, just that she's in the background for most of the movie, placing her somewhere in between the main cast and the other side characters.
This is also why I'm perpetually bemused by the fans who want Hitomi to become a magical girl--not only do we already have plenty of magical girls on the team already, Hitomi's narrative role is to be the Ordinary Friend, aka monster bait. The characters have emotional connections with her beyond what they would for a random background character, and her well-being means something to them--making Hitomi a magical girl would remove that element from the mix completely without necessarily adding anything in return. As anyone who has ever watched the later seasons of Sailor Moon can attest, the more characters you add to the team, the more most of them get shafted or sidelined by the narrative because there's only so much you can cram into a twenty-four minute episode or a two-hour movie.
Right now, Magia Record is wrestling with a similar problem in the current Scene 0 arc, having introduced a brand new character, Mabayu Aki, and positing her as a full-fledged member of the main cast whom nobody remembers ever existed due to as-yet-unrevealed shenanigans. After watching a good chunk of the arc that's been translated into English, it's not clear to me if the writers will be able to live up to this premise--but either way, it demonstrates just how hard it is to bring new characters into a long-running franchise in a way that makes their presence feel both natural and inevitable.
Based on what we've seen so far, I would expect Walpurgis no Kaiten to continue this trend of focusing primarily on the previously introduced core cast (especially Homura), with any "new" characters being alternate versions or recontextualizations of characters we already know. This is not to say that SHAFT can't pull a fast one and introduce someone we've never heard of and with no prior connections, just that it would surprise me if they did--especially given the narrative constraints of a feature film, where every second counts.

Hmm. How strange. My anxiety is spiking for some reason right now. Why is that?
Ah, I see. It's because two of, debatably, the largest queer icons in the Precure franchise, Misumi Nagisa and Yukishiro Honoka, have been introduced into Otona, a series well known and eager to hetcon the crap out of its characters.
Oh good! And the best character in the series, Kujou Hikari, isn't even here! AGAIN.
I'm not INFURIATED BEYOND BELIEF right now, not at all!
What makes you think that?

hii i just wanted to say thank you for the years uve been posting eva and hyper-analyzing the series and kaworu especially .. i found ur blog after watching the series back when the Kaworu Database consisted mostly of soundboards and shit like that and despite my waning interest in the series ive not had the impulse to unfollow u. which is weird for me, because at the ripe age of 26 there’s a lot about nge that doesnt sit right with me anymore.
i got my boyfriend to watch NGE and the rebuilds with me and found myself genuinely ashamed way more than i’d anticipated. the last movie was the nail in the coffin for me specifically because of, let’s face it, the surplus of self-aware asuka fanservice. i was repulsed and denounced my interest in the series entirely. it was difficult to make such a claim because of how important to me the series was (still is, if im being honest) and how pivotal it was to my growth at the time i first watched it.
saw one of your posts on my dash today and went to take a casual look at your blog cuz i was curious as to how you were faring in the sea of eva content after a solid 10 years. looked at one of your posts explaining what nge is at its core and the messages it means to send and How it sends them and found myself falling back into the mindset of “fuck, i missed this shit.”
i appreciate how many years you’ve spent looking at evangelion as a piece of psychological horror, how many years you’ve spent dissecting it under a microscope with 50000x magnification. you’ve been the Only thing that’s brought eva back to the front of my feeble little brain over the past, idk five years or so, and youve now been the reason why i can still appreciate the series despite its flaws. you don’t focus on those flaws and it reads that you do so not because you don’t care, but because they’re obvious and don’t need to be stated. im starting to ramble and im sorry that this ask was long but dming you felt too.. personal despite this message being exactly that.
TL;DR, thank you for analyzing evangelion and kaworu nagisa for many years and singlehandedly reminding me of all the reasons why i enjoyed the series as much as i did when i first watched it. i know your interest in eva is waning, so thank you for what youve given the world over the last 10 years <3
Thank you ever so much! This blog sort of started as a way for me to navigate Eva myself. It's been 10 years and though my passion has fizzled, I still get those visceral feelings of Eva no matter what. It always pulls me in. I still have some of that juice left in me, but mostly I found other source material at the moment I'm highkey obsessed over (I'll give you a hint: cult classic, starts with V, ends with D). It's not all bad. I hope you have a wonderful day :)

I told myself to hold this in Until I finished the transformation sequence (which is fully sketched out it just needs to be cleaned up, its not fully animated but its real :D) but unfortunately I love Precure and Magical girls and @fourphoenixfeathers AU has transfixed me so your getting AU Thoughts: -Emmet and Ingo are a duo transformation ala Nagisa and Honaka. They cannot transform without each other and transforming involves them holding hands.
(Look Emmet and Ingo are literally black and white and it's also the Precure Anniversary. I need to reference the OGs)
-How Precure work in this universe is basically me mashing what I've heard about Happiness Charge (haven't watched it yet but have heard about its setting) into the pokemon world. So there's International Precure and they help the legendaries out but they aren't given powers by Them. In my head I reasoned that Precure just...seem out of Arceus jurisdiction so there is now Something Else giving people Precure powers. But legendaries can call on Precure if they need some help. That's what Kyurem did for Emmet and Ingo (and then later what Arceus did just without properly asking)
-While Emmet and Ingo are a bit outside the usual age range there not the only adult Precure. I haven't really thought of who else would be one except like...N. (he's 20) I'll think about it a bit more but the point is Anyone can be a Precure.
-Emmet and Ingo first became Cures around the start of BW2, they help out with Kyurem and the Dna splicer situation. Before that the plot of BW was mostly handled by Hilda, Bianca, Cheren and then the Midseason Cure N. There still here but Emmet and Ingo being there lightens the load a lot so it goes a bit smoother...Kyurem fusion still happens though! Both Dragons get fused! It Does Not Go Well! They fix it but that involves a secret special mode I haven't drawn yet (for people who know what Infinity Silhouette is, its that, but Emmet and Ingo get a weaker version of it in the middle of the season, it's there power up :D)
-Legends Arceus however is mainly dealt by Ingo and Emmet until midseason cure stuff happens. They go together because of the aforementioned Duo Situation. I imagine its possible to force them into a situation where they are forced to transform alone. However their Cure forms would probably destabilize and be a lot weaker than it would be if they were together.
-It's simply just not worth it unless you want to purposefully weaken them and and even then an unstable Cure is a bit of a risky situation. If Ingo was amensia-ed in this AU it would be Bad for Everyone.
-Cures overall have a pretty tight-knit community, usually there all really busy but if there in the area/its a really bad situation they'll help out.
-Pokemon can become Cures in the same way Fairies can become Cures. There's not a lot of them but there around. I'm mentioning this because i have plans for other regions (most notably Galar and...if Ash Ketchum ever gets brought in, Kanto.)
-A not insignificant amount of the Nimbasa City population has connected the dots between Emmet and Ingo and Cure Truth and Cure Ideal. It's an unsaid agreement to not say anything, they did however freak out when they found out that they existed in Hisui.
On another thing that's not in-universe AU content:
I love magical girls, so of course when I heard this AU my brain started to think about why Ingo and Emmet work really well as magical girls. Because they really do! I think it's mostly because both of them in there game dialogue are just really sincere and don't hold anything back. The sincerity and earnestness of there personality lends itself well to magical girls to me. I have more thoughts on that but I'm tired, but yeah my point is they work well together.

In Defence of Takkun (Saki's Faceless Fiancé)
I hate having to be the one to do this. I ship Sakimai. I was disappointed that canon sank it. I wish they hadn't. But Otona bashers keep bringing this up, and just like the Coconozo antis spreading misinformation that is contradicted by the text, they're convinced that Otona is trash and Toei is hateful and manipulative for ever daring to do this. This isn't just about a popular ship being sunk to them, this is a moral outrage. And since the guy doesn't have a voice to speak up for himself (and couldn't anyway, being fictional and all), I'll go through all the common objections and refute them all.
1) This Is Straight-Ironing! Isn't It?
Short answer: no.
I've already gone over this on Mai's part in my theory post that she's still in love with Saki, but Mai's character arc in Otona reads like dealing with and rejecting compulsory heterosexuality. Her boyfriend dumped her via text message and, rather than being heartbroken, she wrestled with the guilt she felt because she was okay with that, happy even. So here I'm just going to focus on Saki. Or rather, not just Saki.
Saki, in Splash Star, had a crush on Mai's older brother, Kazuya. She fell in love with him at first sight way back in episode 5. She got flustered every time he noticed her existence. She spent the Christmas episode worrying about giving him a cake and spiralling (heh) over seeing him with a girl on Christmas to the point that she had to be reminded to pay attention to the whole world-saving thing she was supposed to do.
Being with a guy isn't a new thought or concept for Saki. Yes, her close bond with Mai is the core of Splash Star, to the point that they come off as even more of a couple-to-be than Nagisa and Honoka, who (according to Hugtto and anniversary merch) are an item. But just as you wouldn't ignore Fuji-P and Kiriya when noting that Nagihono is a thing, you shouldn't engage in bi erasure to complain about Sakimai not happening in Otona.
2) It's Insulting to Pair a Main Character with a Faceless Cipher
Maybe, maybe not. Toei's been doing this for decades. The epilogue of Digimon Adventure 02 pairing everyone outside of the most set-in-stone canon couples off with offscreen randos and giving them future children made a lot of people froth and scream about their sunken ships. But, just like in Digimon, the point here is the show isn't about Takkun. It's about the Precure.
Otonapre is, at its heart, nostalgia bait. When the girls reunite as adults, it's to reforge their old friendships the way you remember it. When the Time Flowers give them back their youth, it's to make your heart fuzzy seeing the old stock footage in higher definition. Their poses and pastimes in the OP are a mirror of the Yes OP. The flashbacks are all in the old show's quality, with concessions made for Splash Star having aired in standard definition. Catchphrases remain. Everyone's career aspirations panned out. Grandparents and pets have miraculously all lived for the past 16-20 years in perfect health.
This is the context we're working with. The reason we don't ever see Takkun's face, hear his voice, or get his full name, and only get his nickname from Saki's phone, is that he wasn't in the original, and you're here to see people who were. If Saki had ended up with Kenta, who had a crush on her in the original, or Kazuya, who she liked in turn, you would have seen them. But she didn't, and the person she did end up with is a new character; more on that later. So why would they show him any more than they had to, when they could just give you another shot of Michiru and Kaoru's vtuber career?
3) It Cheapens Saki and Mai's Bond
This is kind of a wild accusation if you look at the show. Saki and Mai are one of the only pairs in the series who spent the entire gap between seasons constantly in contact. They still need each other to transform. They give each other advice. They're introduced together. Saki's focus episode is called "Their Bond." For Blue's sake, the Otonapre collab cafe has a "Saki and Mai's Bond Open-Faced Sandwich" on the menu, and yes, they really called it that.
Tumblr media
Their bond has suffered the least, and it's even shown right in the aforementioned episode: Saki fears that they won't be able to transform because she's not the same, because she's faced reality and grown up, and she flashes back to being with her boyfriend. But Mai breaks her out of this, and they're able to transform anyway. And it's clear there that, even if Saki has someone she loves, her bond with Mai hasn't gone away.
Saki and Mai are still the most important people in each other's lives, even if Saki has a romantic relationship. It may be common for your most important person to be your partner, but that's not how it works for everyone in every situation, and that's not how it is for Saki. In the last episode, Mai is the one who sees her off at the airport! Sure, the Hyuugas and Takkun are probably offscreen, but the show clearly wants you to know that Mai is the important one here. That hasn't changed.
4) It's a Precedent for Mahou Girls 2 to Break Up Mirai and Liko
No.
There are a lot of assumptions being thrown around that the message of Saki getting married to a man and Mai having a temporary relationship with one is that girls who like other girls will just "grow up" and turn straight, and that that would carry forward to the Mahoutsukai sequel. (Mahoutsukai? Mahou Girls? Witchy? Toei, can you please pick one official title and stick with it?) But that doesn't gel with the text for all the reasons stated above and below, and there's another reason that I doubt it.
Nostalgia sequels will not, unless they cannot, break up a canon ship. Sometimes this goes to a stupid extent, like Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card only on the surface keeping Tomoyo's having gotten over Sakura but having her then start fangirling over the ideal of the magical girl so that she can still keep doing her "you're so cute, Sakura-chan" thing and not actually grow and find herself a new girlfriend. (At least Otona didn't do that and it let Kurumi get over Coco for real.) But if they weren't gonna sink Coconozo despite a bunch of foreign children whining about "the optics," why do you think they would do it for something else that was stated?
This isn't Sakimai. This isn't the first six seasons where there was always the option of a boy for the girls to date; sometimes, yes (the franchise is pretty bi on the whole), but not always, and not here. Mirai and Liko are one of the most blatant f/f ships in the entire franchise. They kissed in the manga. Sure, it was to undo a magic spell, but you don't give the third wheel a peck on the cheek and your partner a full two-page spread kiss scene without there being a reason.
Also, Otonapre aired at prime time. Mahou Girls 2 is airing at butts o'clock at night. This indicates that content that might set off advertisers in one time slot might slide off another. So if you're worried that pearl-clutching executives might demand Mirai and Liko get boyfriends, I sincerely doubt it. Especially not with the TV yuri anime we've been getting as of late.
And did you forget that the first big chunk of Otona's canon romance, before we even saw Saki and Mai or heard confirmation of their relationship status, before Coco and Nozomi, the main couple, got back together, was Kurumi's drunken love confession to Karen? Just saying.
5) But Then Why Would They Do It?
You know, for people who claim to understand Japanese culture and ideals so much that they'll go on rants for days about how sinking Sakimai means Otona perpetuates the concept of same-gender attraction being training wheels for a "real" straight relationship, these people don't seem to understand that the actual message of their story was attacking another sexist cultural concept: that women shouldn't want to advance in their career and have no hope of doing so because they will and should just get married and quit to serve their husband's wants.
Remember when I touched on why Saki's not just marrying a man, but marrying a rando? This is why. A major part of the show's throughline is that Coconozo, the pairing that was a huge part of Yes and maintains its position as the core of Otona, faces the conflict of both Coco and Nozomi having achieved their dreams. The reason Coco stepped back and focused on work, not visiting Nozomi for years and barely writing even though they still loved each other, was that now that Coco's grown up (and not just pretending to be an adult to become their teacher in a half-baked "how to be useful and stick close to the team" plan that launched years of discourse and misinformation), he's become the king and has more responsibility, and he can't just tear Nozomi away from her dream career. The message here is that he can't, and that's why they compromise in the end, and so if you, viewer at home who identified with Nozomi as a child, feel pressured to quit your job for a man, you shouldn't have to. And that's a big thing for the audience the show is going for.
For that to work, that story needs these foils, and that's where Saki and Mai getting offscreen boyfriends come in. Mai's is the common negative example. He doesn't appreciate how much time and effort she's putting into her art job; in fact, he thinks it's a burden on him, and he breaks up with her via text message. Rather than come crawling back, even if her friends don't understand at first, she ends up washing her hands and throwing the whole man away. He never comes up again.
Saki, on the other hand, deals with her own problem later. Her fiancé hasn't been pressuring her like Mai's boyfriend has, but the expectations of society in general have percolated the guilt in her heart just the same, and she fears that she'll be letting both him and her parents down if she goes for her dreams because it'll get in the way of theirs. With Mai's encouragement and a reminder that she's still the girl who would do things because she wanted them back in 2006, Saki steps up and confesses what she wants, and Takkun is fine with it as long as she's happy. Note that she clears it with him before she clears it with her parents because she knows they will (and they do) ask "are you sure he's okay with this."
Thus, the offscreen boyfriends are there to serve a narrative purpose more than being actual characters. Toei couldn't do that if Saki had ended up with Kazuya or Kenta, and definitely not if she had ended up with Mai. They establish the negative "what if" first with Mai and have her overcome it (so what if he leaves you? If he did, he was trash anyway), and then give Saki a similar "what if" with genuine tension that wouldn't happen if her fiancé was already someone we knew and trusted, then use her story as the positive. That's the foundation that takes us into the finale and the culmination of the romance plot.
Of course, since a lot of the people who hate Otonapre for other reasons like the sinking of Sakimai are also Coconozo antis, Sakimai being sunk for a literary device to allow Coco and Nozomi's love to conquer all may come off as more of a reason to hate it, not less. But if you were going into a sequel to a show where romance was a key point and honestly expected them to get rid of the big main canon ship, please take a breath and go watch something you'll like instead.

The Little Prince
Tumblr media
An: Thank you to @187-mg for the picture and the inspiration for this one shot! All hail Nagisa! But anyway, this one is a bit dark and I got to play with the childhood friends tripe for the first time! And this drabble was a little inspired by the story of Cain and Abel if your willing to look up the details. Enjoy!
Tw: Yanderes, murder, (my search history looks like a really stupid murderer's lol, couldn't find any pictures of people being repeatedly bashed with a rock tho so may be a little inaccurate 😭), description of murder, not that explicit but not light either, Nagisa needs help, Nagisa improvs murder, don't worry, we're not killing any of the boys today, just a nameless chara
Once upon a time, there was a boy.
He was taken in and treated like a prince.
This little prince had everything he could've ever wanted, yet not a friend in the world.
One night, this little prince wanted to go outside his lonely castle. He wanted to meet other kids like him. After all, he had always been such a curious child.
On his trip to the outside world, he met someone.
Another child who, despite the little prince being a complete outsider, made the little prince feel like he truly belonged.
They had a wonderful time together. And the prince realized that that was the first time he had ever felt… human.
He found that he loved the feeling. That he loved spending time with his new friend.
Alas, he knew he'd have to leave his new friend. He didn't want to risk getting them in trouble. So he left. But before he left, he left them with a promise.
"We'll meet again someday."
And he never saw his friend again.
Nagisa was on his usual trip to the library. Ibara had gotten him into reading and brought him books from time to time, but he still enjoyed picking a couple out for himself.
He was looking through the shelves of one of his favourite genres when he noticed someone else looking through the shelves.
They looked at the books carefully but didn't scrutinize them nearly as much as Nagisa had them.
Something about them felt… familiar.
Their hair, their pretty eyes, and their face were all reminiscent of something…
No, that would be impossible.
They'd have had to have gone somewhere else by now. Nagisa assumed they had gone out of the country.
And why would they be in the same library as him? At this single moment? Fate?
He looked at them more, trying to prove that it wasn't you. But he couldn't deny it.
It was you.
The one who set his heart ablaze, who let him know how it felt to live.
He had looked for you since forever. But he hadn't even gotten your name during the one night he finally felt alive.
"Excuse me? Are you alright?"
That was your voice.
It was a lot more mature than when he last heard it, but that only contributed to its beauty.
Nagisa had spent his whole life trying to chase after you.
Now here you were.
And he had to admit, you blossomed into a true beauty.
"Oh, I'm perfectly fine. But… I think I recognize you. What's your name?" Nagisa asked, feigning curiosity and hiding his excitement.
"Yeah, I was thinking the same. I think I know you from somewhere," you replied and told Nagisa your name.
So that was your name?
It was quite beautiful to him. In his eyes, it perfectly suited you.
And even better, you still remembered him!
Yes, you were a bit forgetful, but he'd jog your memory. You were everything to him. The life you gave him was a feeling he had been trying to revive ever since that day he left you. He'd do anything for you.
He didn't want to come off as too zealous though. Technically, this was your first meeting with Nagisa since you forgot your first meeting with him. He made light conversation and gave his name as well.
Yet he almost couldn't help himself. You were his saviour. You showed him what to live for. You were his god. Ever so sweet and kind.
Actually, everything about you was god-like. The way you walked. The tone of voice you used. The way you smiled at certain books. Nagisa had never wanted to be a big stitched-up stack of paper so badly. Even the way you looked at things was beautiful to him.
Juicy lips with just the right amount of plumpness to them. Nagisa could feel his face heat up as he took in the smallest of details about you. And wow, your eyes were pretty.
But then, those lips were on another's.
What?
What the hell just happened?
"Hey, you done now honey bun?" The piece of scum that had the nerve to kiss you said to you. You even held them close!
How?
Why?
Nagisa's brain was going haywire at the implications of this.
Such scum merely existing in the presence of his god, his saviour, his love. It disgusted him.
He had to get rid of it.
Cleanse you of such filth.
Maybe then, he could bask in your light.
He waited just a bit. He could be patient, he waited for you for so many years before.
He kept the filth in his sights and made sure no one could see them and Nagisa. Ibara could clean up any messes after. He had a bit of a hold on the police authority so he could force the case to go cold if he had to. After all, Ibara had done some immoral things himself. As he said though, it was all fair in the name of love.
Luckily, you left for the bathroom.
Nagisa pulled the piece of scum aside.
Nagisa made up a convincing story about him needing to talk with that waste of space because he was one of your exes and needed to tell them something. He used this opportunity to ask regular questions like what they were out doing.
Apparently, the two of you were going around the city together all on foot and you were planning on going to a cafe next. A little casual and strange for Nagisa's tastes, but if you wanted to, he'd go on any kind of date with you.
He pulled them into the alleyway where the library's big garbage bin was. Nagisa could steal their phone after and tell you that they went ahead to the cafe. Then, dump everything in the garbage and tell Ibara to be ready for a cover-up. Nagisa could escape through the other side of the alleyway.
Ibara had promised him that he would if Nagisa ever had something like this happen to him.
The body may not even be found for days as well. You'd probably think they left or something.
"So, what do you need to tell me? Something like they cheated on you?" They asked. As though you, Nagisa's god, would ever do such a thing. But even if you did, you'd have a good reason.
He was starting to tire of hearing this scum waste air.
He grabbed a rock and bashed their skull in.
One hit and they were on their knees. It was pathetic, they flailed and yelled.
"Fucking god, man, look, if you want them, you can have them! I don't give a shit about them!" They yelled.
They didn't give a shit about you?
Nagisa felt his blood boil. They had everything he ever wanted, yet he didn't give a shit about it?!
Maybe they did need to be shut up.
Nagisa banged the rock into their throat, hoping he could completely crush it. It caved in awkwardly and he could see blood pooling.
Everything was so loud, he almost couldn't take it.
Again.
Again.
More.
He needed more.
More blood.
He needed to eradicate this piece of scum from the earth.
So they could never touch his god ever again.
And so, he kept on going.
They were long dead, but something in Nagisa just had him beating them until they were a mess of guts and blood and bone and ick. Until they were completely unidentifiable.
They looked more like a chunky splatter of meat than a person now. How had he done this?
It was all too much.
The musk of sweat and blood and death in the air that somehow carried a certain sweetness to it. Everything seemed silent now, as Nagisa stood, the rock still in hand. Even the feeling of his clothes on his skin disturbed him.
His heart raced.
He had just ended another human's life.
But he did it for you.
So it was all okay, wasn't it?
This was the culmination of his love.

Obbligato: In Praise of Folly - 2
Writer: Akira
Season: Spring, two years ago
Characters: Hiyori, Ibara, Nagisa
Translation: Peace & hyenahunt
Proofreading: Remi + 310mc (JP) & Skyress (ENG)
Nagisa: ... He became a great beast that no individual could oppose alone — or perhaps something godlike.
Tumblr media
[Read on my blog for the best viewing experience with Oi~ssu ♪]
Hiyori: Yes. It is for that reason as well that I'd like all the more to be better informed. It's essential to get a good feel for the situation upon one's debut to a new social scene.
At the same time, one ought to learn right away just who calls the shots in such a place.
And from where I stand, it appears to me that it would be you, Ibara Saegusa-kun. CosPro manages Reimei Academy and the like, and its true leader in all but name is you, is it not?
That's what I've gathered after doing all the research that I did, and that's why I judged your offer to be worth taking.
Indeed we wished for a new land for ourselves, but we did not simply latch onto just any old hand extended to us.
But of course, to an outsider, that's exactly what it must look like we're doing.
Tumblr media
Ibara: Forgive me for taking advantage of your weakened hearts. However, allow me to rescind my words and agree that your decision was right beyond a doubt.
I truly believe we’ll be able to build a good rapport among each other, Tomoe and Ran.
Hiyori: You may have no choice but to say those words, but I'll have you know I'm still only half-convinced.
I want to play no part in cleaning up after others again, so the very instant things seem like they're heading south, we shall take our leave.
Ibara: If that is what you'd like to do, I certainly wouldn't stop you. After all, we haven’t signed any written contract, as the two of you were uncomfortable by the offer for some reason…
The two of you are in no way obligated to follow me.
And that is why, so that I may gain your trust, I’ve been explaining everything without sparing a single detail.
How could I ever ask you to bare your hearts to me if I won't show my own first?
And, at the very least, one must lay down understandable guidelines if they'd like those around them to act in the way they ask.
Hiyori: It's easy to understand where you're coming from. You're a businessman through and through, and you aim to increase both the amount of successful companies you have under your belt, and of course, their profits.
Or rather, you're simply full of ambition, aren't you? You're very keen to push this straightforward image of yourself, donning your business suits as you hand out your business cards.
You conduct yourself so thoroughly as to ensure your behavior will never compromise this image you've built up. This role of a young prodigal businessman is one you certainly play well.
Being a manager would obviously mean that you have a hand in management. You strive to ensure that your companies are successful. In other words, it's easy for anyone to guess that your goal is for profit — financial or otherwise.
Ibara: That's right. While our generation of adolescents are those who'd like to be seen for who they really are, and have others understand them...
It's far more important to have a character that's easy for others to grasp.
Everyone wants money. I am the personification of that desire, one which everyone can sympathize with.
And so, I won't deviate from that "easily understood" category.
The moment I step over that line is when I become no different than those "incomprehensible monsters" of Yumenosaki Academy — the Five Eccentrics.

Nagisa: ......
Ibara: I've implied this more than once, however... That is where Mr. Tatsumi Kazehaya misstepped.
As I explained along the way, he established a somewhat... unique "idol association" within Reimei Academy.
By managing and utilizing the assets he gained from it, he was able to continuously accomplish feats that someone on their own couldn't.
Though I'm certainly preaching to the choir when I tell the two of you this, it's certainly symbolic of the current flow of the world, isn’t it?
No matter how prodigious someone may be, so long as they remain alone, they have no hope of winning against the ordinary who collude with one another.
Nagisa: ... I see. Whether it be deliberate or not, Tatsumi Kazehaya has created a sizable "unit" of which he is the beacon.
... It is similar to how we, fine, had formed. It was for the sake of the ordinary majority — so that we could defeat each one of the Five Eccentrics.
... As others flocked to Tatsumi Kazehaya as their leader, he surpassed that which is human.
... He became a great beast that no individual could oppose alone — or perhaps something godlike.

Ibara: Indeed. However, while the man in question simply likened what he headed as a “company”...
From my own point of view, as someone who is a real manager, what Mr. Tatsumi Kazehaya is leading is nothing more than a shady secret society.
No, it's better described as a cultish society.
One could even say that he's established his very own dubious, if powerful, religion.
His ideals do have plenty of good intentions behind them, that much is for certain, and he ought to be praised for them...
A world in which no one is unhappy. A kind world where no one is hurt. An idealistic world where all are equal, and are treated fairly without exception.
However, therein lies the grandest of contradictions to the same ideals Mr. Tatsumi Kazehaya held so highly from the very beginning.
