my ffvii ships new years kisses:

- zakkura: zack gets really giddy and excited and kisses cloud as soon as new years hits, flustering cloud really badly in the process but afterwards they both cant help but smile at each other and giggle

- asg: they’re all about to just go for it but then they need to pause for a moment as they realize theres three of them… they debate trying to figure out how to make a three-way kiss work but quickly realize that wont work as they all literally butt heads, so instead they have to debate which pair kisses first and just alternate until they all get their kisses from each other, but it takes quite a while because if its genesis and angeal, sephiroth will get upset, he already feels like the odd one out in the relationship, but if its angeal and sephiroth, genesis will absolutely get jealous and throw a fit, so ultimately angeal takes one for the team and decides to let sephgen have the first kiss, and then they promptly decide to shower angeal with love and kisses afterwards, so he doesn’t feel upset about it

- tsengru: rufus goes in for the kiss immediately but tseng, being the rational one, puts his hand up to stop rufus and looks around to make sure no one else is looking, and once he’s sure the coast is clear he lets rufus kiss him, holding up his champagne(?) glass to block the view of their lips from anyone else (i dont know what people drink for new years or many kinds of glasses…)

- renorude(?): they’re absolutely all over each other, like full on making out, even before the countdown, without a care in the world, even as the excitement dies down and everyone else is done kissing, reno and rude are still going at it, leaving everyone else to just kind of awkwardly stare at the spectacle and just pray that they keep their clothes on

- aerti: they’re holding hands and leaning against each other, and as new years hits they both look at each other and giggle happily, just full of nothing but love as aerith leans in and kisses tifa, even as tifa seems a bit bashful about it

- tuestine(?): reeve is really reserved and nervous about it, but lets vincent lean in for the kiss first and then gently pulls down the collar(?) of vincent’s cape hiding the lower half of his face, making sure vincent’s okay with it first, and then they kiss, soft quick and sweet, though reeve is still a bit of a blushing mess that doesn’t know how to keep himself together afterwards

- valenwind: cid just grabs vincent by his stupid collar and pulls him down and gracelessly kisses him

sono.N teased the third SHWD volume cover on Twitter in April, but now Amazon JP has it up in full (including obi). This final collected volume of sono.N's unique take on workplace WLW with added trauma and unholy mutants hits Japanese shelves on June 15th 2023.

There is still no English-language date for this volume from the US license holder, Seven Seas, but the 2nd volume is scheduled for release on October 17th 2023 (though this has changed several times and may still change again).

SHWD started out as an indie comic lovingly shared by sono.N via print and PIxiv before getting to begin again as an online serial with Comic Ruelle. From the get-go the series struggled to find a large audience because it didn't fit neatly into existing yuri tropes. Meanwhile, its focus on relationship growth didn't make it a hit with general SF audiences either.

However, for the dedicated group of people that found something they loved in the SHWD world, it was a truly special little series.

For me, having come to the series from the original indie comics sono.N shared, the earnestness with which the author pursued telling the story and how carefully the characters were rendered... idk, it felt really raw and beautiful in a way that only indie tales can. I'll really miss it.

All I can do now is to encourage you to support the official Japanese or English language releases of SHWD when you can and to let others know about this little gem if it resonated with you too.

When sono.N has a new project I look forward to supporting it too ❤️

when we were about ready to start posting the fic, we reached out and asked if anyone would be interested in helping out with the cover for wolfrry- because as much as there are loads of inspirational lhh pics, very little match the vibe we're looking for. and we knew we wanted smth to showcase his golden eyes when he shapeshifts so i just tried my hand in photoshop and well- the cover we have now is the result. i actually used to draw a lot myself (wanted to be an architect for the longest time until i switched for doctor) and i miss it terribly. sketching was my favorite medium. but i've never ever tried drawing harry. i might try my hand at it one day again, you've really inspired me. didn't even think abt this when i was doing the cover. and if you ever feel inspired to draw anything at all again for our fic we'd absolutely melt into a puddle ❤️🥹 also, we posted another cover for one of our excerpts- for the lake scene. it was just a pic we both really loved and it showcased a blonde woman. as we said in that ask you sent- we try and make Y/N as inclusive as possible but you can draw her however you see her in your mind's eye. i feel that's the whole point behind Y/N anyway- everyone gets to envision her differently without us imposing any physical features.

Sketching can be so therapeutic and I've struggled hard the last couple of weeks because I had to hand in a lot of paintings for my painting class(I'm an fine arts student:)) I didn't get to paint in my style for a while and I'm so happy to be back with something that I enjoy and also bring happiness to others too. My prof has criticised me quite harshly on multiple paintings I did so my motivation has been running low lately but your writing made me wanna open my sketchbook again <3

The idea of these MCs without much description is so different to many people and I didn't want to overstep your boundaries as the authors or the ones of the reader's because it kind of feels like I'm taking something from them in that way.
