god damn movie adaptations not coming from the people it happened to or the person that wrote the original which veer from the original format/plot of the story? fanfiction

the gay ship stuff is still a niche aspect of fandom, and yes white people continue to be fucking weird about it, and it IS annoying as hell that white women especially want to straddle the fence on how legally unpublishable fanfiction should be handled

but im getting really fucking tired of people who dont even create stories making shitty bold statements, because can we PLEASE stop pretending that the published things authors come up with are 10000% completely original?? literally no one can make something out of nothing when everyone gets inspired to create art by the other forms of art they study and appreciate
