I'm pretty sure that Mondo would give him things like clothes, food or places as a gift.

Because Kiyotaka is probably not the type that wants a plushie or a cool band shirt, he just likes basic materials, so Mondo would only buy him warm clothes in winter so he would stop wearing those cheap aah ropes that didn't protect him from the chill.

Or he would buy him food junk that kiyitaka hasn't tried, probably street food, or a new type of coffee flavor he hasn't tried.

Or take him to the aquarium, a museum, the zoo, a lake, because Kiyotaka likes to make memories of places, but mostly with Mondo.

And all of this just because Mondo loves the way Taka looks after these things, so happy, excited and beautiful.

Btw I'm sorry, I'm kind of skipping things of kiyotaka week but maybe some day I'll post the drawings (they're still not even started) because I'm pretty tired and high school is just around the corner, sooooo, yh.

Mine are postgame fics (either virtual world fics, or ghost aus) where he recovers mentally too damn quickly. He needs like, 5 years of therapy for that minimum.

oooh. I completely agree with you on that one. I think having characters just get over traumatic events very quickly is a plague that hangs over the entire danganronpa franchise, but those kids of fics are still jarring to me because… did you SEE Taka after Mondo’s death?? He would not just be over the events of the killing game in like a month.

I feel like it’s too obvious to say that I very much dislike the whole “sweet innocent gayboy” Taka. I just think the fact that it’s so popular- to the point that even dangan fans who don’t care much about Taka see him that way - is what really grinds my gears. Also the fact that it comes from people fetishizing every mlm relationship and infantilizing autistic or autistic-coded characters.

Like the fact that they ignore everything that makes Taka a really fun and more fleshed out character in favor of making ishimondo an overdone yaoi trope is so frustrating to me.

Also there’s like an adjacent version of this when people do future non-despair au’s and use the idea of Taka learning slow down and take better care of himself as an excuse to portray him in that fanon way. Correct me if I’m wrong, but that really doesn’t seem like the result of Taka healing from his harmful mindset.

I know this is such a cliche answer, but I’m being completely honest. I just don’t like it.

when mondo and taka have kids taka cooks them a lot of healthy meals, making sure they have all of their vitamins obvi. mondo takes over while takas on a business trip and after a few nights caves and just makes mac and cheese, prompting the kids to Exclusively ask for Mac and cheese for weeks when taka returns
