Uproar in football stadiums: There can't be two genders

24th matchday, FC Ingolstadt vs. Dynamo Dresden: Banner in the Dresden fan block "THERE IS ONLY ONE RIDICULOUS DFB... AND TWO GENDER".

A fan poster claims there are only two genders. The DFB sports court punishes this. Now mass protests are breaking out in stadiums. Is a super-woker DFB embarrassing itself? Are football fans queer deniers? Is the over-political DFB president making a mistake once again? Or is the gender debate simply reaching a new dimension?

The scandal began as a real satire. The German Football Association's sports court has imposed a fine on Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen because fans there claimed that there were only two genders. The DFB is the world's largest sports association, Bayer Leverkusen is top of the Bundesliga and on the way to the championship - the stage for the gender criminal court could hardly be bigger. The club has to pay a total of 18,000 euros “because of discriminatory, unsportsmanlike behavior on the part of its supporters”. Fans held up a banner at the game against Werder Bremen that read: “There are many styles of music, but only two genders.”

The incriminated banner triggered a rather cheerful discourse between harmless rival fan groups from Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen. Bayer Ultras had described themselves as the supposedly cool "Raverkusen" in a choreography in the game against Freiburg, whereupon the Werder fans countered the Leverkusen team as music philistines in the subsequent game with a "Beer King ≠ Techno Club" banner. They responded with the now scandalized Bayer banner “There are many styles of music.” With the reference to the "but only 2 genders", the Rhinelanders probably wanted to make fun of the left-wing orientation of the Bremen Ultras after they had mocked their own taste in music. Such fan teasing is normally part of the rich, coarse and universally laughed-at part of German football culture.

But the fact that the DFB is now trying to publicly punish the Leverkusen fans as inhumane gender deniers is causing a lot of football fans to shake their heads and feel indignant. To justify its punitive action, the DFB wrote on From federal politics, the Green Party's sports spokeswoman, Tina Winklmann, immediately supported the DFB, saying the poster was "inhumane and discriminatory."

Discussion about DFB leadership breaks out

Many fans see it differently and simply do not want to be banned from the idea that there are two genders. The DFB's punitive action is therefore triggering a wave of similar sanctioning actions in other stadiums. Dynamo Dresden supporters displayed a giant banner that read: "There is only one ridiculous DFB... and two genders!" The DFB now also wants to take action against this with penalties. In Braunschweig, fans made a giant banner with the inscription “Dear Sir or Madam, Period.” In Cottbus you could read meters high: "There are only 2 genders - both despise the DFB". In Chemnitz they read in giant letters: "There are only two genders, even a blind person can see that! DFB fan shop: men, women, babies and children". The fans were referring to the two-gender DFB shop.

Now the DFB should actually punish all possible clubs and fan groups, because new “two-gender” posters are added every weekend. But behind the scenes there is also a discussion about the DFB and its leadership.

Some criticize that the DFB is putting unnecessary additional strain on the already heated relationship between the DFB, DFL and fans because of the planned investor entry into the DFL. Others criticize the DFB, which is becoming increasingly left-wing politicized and demonstratively “woke” under its president Bernd Neuendorf. The long-time SPD professional politician Neuendorf works closely with the SPD Interior Minister Nancy Faeser in his positioning for demonstrative diversity. Joint party membership sometimes leads to over-political actions, as was the case at the World Cup in Qatar, when the two staged the one-love prank.

Scars and distinguishing marks: None. 

Sexuality: Closest human equivalent would be pan or bi. Not got a lot of experience, but is up for trying most things, and is also very open about his lack of experience in all things romantic or sexual.

Abilities: Travel between worlds with total ease using the in betweens. Shadows, rivers, bridges, thresholds. Anywhere he wants at dawn and dusk. Physically alter shape and appearance to that of a human. Tough skin, a bit of a resistance to some physical harm but nothing huge. Wicked good sense of smell for all kinds of things, but especially good at finding magic. 

Weaknesses: Iron. Perfumes fuck him up, too strong, too much of a chemical feel. Creature brain says you hide when things are scary, so he is prone to spooking and then destroying things to disappear. Seems like a weakness.

Other bits and pieces:

As said, the human look is an ability. One he will keep up under almost all circumstances. He knows people who are aware of non-humanoid fae do not take them seriously in their real appearance, and he’s invested a lot into being ‘Willoughby’. It is a physical form.

Comes from the inbetweens. A sort of refuse pocket between realms, where things that get lost might end up, and which exists more strongly within the transitional parts of realms. Sometimes you lose something and it ends up there on its own. Findable by its original owners, or by something else, making it gone forever to the person who lost it. It’s sort of a junkyard. 

Sells things he finds in the in between, both in fairy markets and human ones. Stall is always called Lost and Found. A mix of genuinely interesting stuff, and total crap. Sort of a dodgy antique dealer, because sometimes things need some help getting lost before he claims them. 

Considers himself a gentleman thief. 

Only part of his inhuman appearance that's seen occasionally are the claws, four of them on each hand, two long, two short. For digging and climbing. They can do some harm, but aren’t meant for it. Potentially people might feel a roughness to his tongue, too, which is definitely a normal human length at all times, don’t look any closer, take my word for it. 

Has a true name in a fairy sense. A name that has power over him. But that’s a lets talk ooc if you want your muse to know it thing, cause he isn’t someone whose real name would be a known entity. Not important enough to be recorded anywhere. 

Temper can show when things don’t go how he wants and expects. Prone to tantrums and outbursts. Petty, vindictive, hissy fit throwing.

Wants to be taken seriously. Sticks to his idea of what is proper and respectable regardless, even though it was informed by literature, and almost exclusively things written before the 1930s. 

Actually isn't completely ignorant to a lot of human things, he lives in a world of lost crap after all, he's seen more and read more than what he's latched onto as 'Will'. There are still major gaps in his knowledge though, putting people together through trash isn't the best method of getting a full understanding.

Long form backstory and bio (Least necessary read, you can skip these bits):

Willoughby is just a little creature. Born into a junk pile of lost and unwanted belongings. Not considered a fae by most of faerie, but humans who don’t know better would see him as one. Initially raised with a family, and then isolated over the years. It’s a lonely existence just scuffling around an endless field of trash searching for stuff to eat. Incidentally, part of why they’re so good at snuffling up magic is because spirits that get lost are a staple part of their diet. Usually it’s parts of spirits, full human or fae don’t usually wind up with them. 

At some point in the endless repetitive cycle of searching, they stumbled upon something quite unique. A house. An entire home. A large country house at that. Something that could’ve been used as a filming location for a bbc miniseries based on a Jane Austen novel. Maybe it’s not landed gentry, managed by the national trust levels of big, but it was clearly a home with money and worth. Left to moulder and rot for a few decades, totally abandoned and untouched. Furniture, belongings, everything. 

Exploring the house brought them to a library full of crumbling and poorly cared for books, hallways of portraits and little bits and pieces to uncover and learn about the people who’d lived there. All subtly covered in the smell of fae magic. Whatever got the house lost, it involved some kind of pissed off fairy. 

So they created a character, for fun at first, built from the stories they’d read. Name picked from the pages to fit the home. He became ‘him’, not really having any connection or relationship to human concepts of gender before, but ‘him’ seemed the most fun when it came to stomping around an empty home and playing pretend. Willoughby wasn’t the only voice, he was just the one that lasted, that became more than just play. 

He thinks he can duel, swords of guns, that he's a deft hand with a bow and arrow, and an accomplished piano-forte player. Reality might say otherwise. Only having himself to please and impress. Also likes croquet, cross stitch, writing by hand, pretending he knows what horses are and how to ride them,

The appearance of 'Willoughby' wasn't taken from the portraits, they didn't look like the humans and fae he saw scavenging in the inbetween, so he took the softness, delicate features, and incredibly pale skin, to be an art style. It's never occurred to him that his human build and appearance is incongruous with the clothes, the language, the character.

Realizing their opportunity, their position, Will decided to change up how they were living and existing. Why scrounge around endlessly for survival when he could build something better for himself. Sell what he found. It wasn’t unheard of, he saw and ran away from numerous scavengers from other realms looking for goods to sell or use. So he decided to do that. You can find him at antiques fairs, flea markets, car boot sales, bring and buys, anything and everything where he can set up a little stand and sell the crap he’s found. 

Overtime, he realized it’d be easier to find stuff worth selling if he could help it to get lost. Using the ability to move through in betweens - shadows and thresholds in particular - to start finding things to make lost, only to ‘find’ them later back home. And sometimes flat out steal stuff, cause it’s easier. 

Profoundly, deeply, lonely. Very isolated. Wants to gain connection, but is always acting and playing a part, so finds it difficult because people don’t react how he expects. For the sake of RP, if we’re rolling with pre-established relationships, we can bypass getting through that outer layer, and have a more genuine connection where Will can just be them. Not Willoughby Clay, human. 

Even alone. Will stays as a human. Stays as Willoughby. Sure, if completely alone he might dress a bit less reserved, but he will always look human. It is a choice, and a part of him. He started using his hobby/entertainment of a human appearance for work. People don't take inhuman fae seriously in his line of work, even others who also aren't humanoid by nature. Fae hounds, redcaps, cat sidhe, he'd been laughed at by more than one when trying to make deals as himself. Even if they can tell, and not all can, what kind of creature he is, it made a difference to be perceived as humanoid. It got respect.

Entertaining the idea of a villainous, high-ranking Fatui agent OC. Not a conscripted military recruit trying to eek by a normal existence, believing he is doing what is right. No, a carrier-tactician, who specializes in infiltration and torture.

Loyal as death to the Tsaritsa, but entirely unconcerned with how inhumane his methods are. He is often sent as a punisher - some may call him an assassin, as he has killed many times, but he would rather be called a warning. He makes certain people don't cross the Fatui's agenda ever again.

He is a master of covers - of being, somehow, a legitimate agent of insert business or some other endeavor, so that he need not drop the Fatui's name anywhere but in private so he never sullies the organization's reputation. And most people he runs up against are too frightened to say anything ever again, and if they do, no one believes them because his name simply... doesn't appear except in Harbinger level documentation.

Specifically thinking about him threatening Diluc Ragnvindr in the context of threatening Kaeya to try and twist a knife into Diluc Ragnvindr, and he does it straight to Diluc's face.

Other Info Addison's mother knew Robert and since he owed her a favor, he ended up with the girl. What he didn't know at the time was that she was Coltrane Mahlendorf's daughter and that Coltrane had figured out that Dana wasn't human. It didn't take him long to figure it out once Dana was dead.

As much as he hated it, he made sure Addison's training as she grew involved the kind of knowledge most hunters had on top of everything she needed for her own inborn abilities.

Eventually, she's going to go looking for her birth father and when she does, she's fairly certain she can pass for human well enough to fake her way in.

Bio:

Sultan Beschir Suleimani had been raised in a posh, comfort filled lifestyle reigned by his father. He is the eldest sibling and next in line for the throne, and believed that he had already predicted how his life would be. However a siege from the north west had shaken up his entire kingdom.

From far as Romania, there has been troops infiltrating and news of a dreadful entity causing mass mayhem. Such a being was described to be a leader who impaled and caused an incredible amount of casualties, which made others believe that he was probably not human at all but some bloodthirsty immortal demon. It led way for other kingdoms to utilize this weakness to attack, to the point that it destroyed the royal family.

The Sultan and his siblings were kidnapped, his father’s demise and ultimately the troops managed to fight them off and restore. However, the Kingdom of Aves had stolen the heir and was planning to make a trade deal for most of the empire’s resources. When in prison, Beschir thought he would be seeing the last of his days when a mysterious woman shrouded in white had set him free. She is the princess of Aves and had told him that to run and never return. There was also fear in that kingdom of Vlad the Impaler and how there is a prophecy of a normal human taking him down.

With this new knowledge, Beschir fled for his life. A grueling, weeklong journey through mountains and storms led him through the gates to the empire, only to learn of the devastating news and losses. It was through the Council of Elders who was desperate to have a leader again that helped him. After strengthening him both physically and mentally, the prince had taken the status of the new Sultan.

Now he knew about the one prime rule of their kingdom, that magic is not to be used. It is an outdated law that the Council of Elders maintain to keep, but he decided to make changes of his own. He began with abolishing the harem system, and utilizing it as an area for women’s shelter and education. In her human form, Oraia appears to be a typical female in her 30s, standing at approximately 5'5" (1.65 m), with a toned physique & tanned light brown skin. BACKGROUND

Her origins lie in the mysterious people who created the Priestguard. They only required the obisbaya ritual because they'd stayed in their human form for too long. Similarly, the Sea Whip, also known as Rusalye, was a cursed prince, but he wasn't exactly cursed to be a sea dragon. Rather, he had been born in the form of a dragon & had the gift of changing into a human. This race of beings has been known to a select few as the Serdtsa, or the Hearts, referring to the Making at the Heart of the World. They were one of the first species to ever live & the oldest knew of both Grisha without classification & sildroher who helped the Hedjut. Oraia was born to a Hedjut Squaller father & her Serdtse (singular) mother, who was a queen to her people. Her older brother, who went by Rusalye on land, was cursed by a witch he scorned, back when Oraia was a child. Oraia simply chose to spend all her time underwater with him so he'd never feel lonely, rather than go inland. Then Rusalye went missing. Oraia called on her friend Ulla, who informed her that a Grisha from Ravka had killed him, to wear his scales as an amplifier. Now Oraia's out to get her revenge. (To be clear, the Sea Whip has not been a singular animal existing since the time of Ilya Morozova. Sea Whips are a subrace of Serdtsa.) Her brother’s real name was Ladon.

PERSONALITY

Oraia began life as a happy, curious child. She loved exploring with her brother, observing coral reefs & going inland with him. He was more mischievous, while she was wide-eyed & innocent, but he never forced her into anything she didn't want to do. If anything, he kept her safe from humans who would otherwise take advantage of her. So she had no problem giving up the surface world for him. As a princess of her people, Oraia has learned to be sociable, patient & flirtatious--sometimes to manipulate others. Her heart is good, but when her loved ones are threatened, she becomes enraged.

ABILITIES

Her primary inhuman ability is shapeshifting into her sea whip form. She can stay in this form for as long as she wants & it allows her to breathe underwater easily, swim as if cutting the ocean itself & wrap herself around ships to crush them. As a human, Oraia is a practiced swimmer, who can navigate through churning waves & hold her breath for a decent amount of time. However, she is still human, so she can drown. Also, if she stays in this form for several hours, she will require the obisbaya ritual to change back to her sea whip form. Because her father was a Squaller, Oraia can generate gusts of wind, to protect herself, roughly direct waves, or attack things head-on. In a fight inland, Oraia would most likely rely on her athleticism to dodge her enemy's attacks until she can knock them down & pounce. Lastly, she is an amplifier, though her own Grisha abilities are average, if not less than. Her species usually lives for centuries.
