I know I've gotten this one before, but I've forgotten which 5 I recommended! That's all right, I guess, I'll just go for the first five off the top of my head:

1) @willoughbyofgaia -- This OC blog is all about a terribly sweet and generous alien woodland sprite, Willoughby, from the living sanctuary planet Gaia. Will has a unique relationship with Thanos, so don't badmouth the Mad Titan in his presence! Beyond that, the attitude you give is the attitude you receive, and it's a pleasure to see Will interacting with... really, just about anybody. The mun is an absolute sweetheart, too!

2) @sigynthevictorious -- An account which represents the wife and offspring of Loki (either Marvel Universe or Norse legend), who are far more than just what those identifiers imply. Sigyn, Vali, and Narfi are each full-fledged characters, all of them distinctive, rich, and enrapturing. I've followed this talented mun since long before I had the Tangleweave account, and I never cease to be amazed at her skill with the written word... nor just how very engaged she is in creating stories and plots!

3) @illbringthechaosmagic -- This indie blog is dedicated to Wanda Maximoff, and represents a version of Wanda that strives for goodness, justice, and lasting companionship, but frequently stumbles in the most relatable ways. Anyone would see themselves in this character. If you want a Wanda that's consistent, believable, fierce, and kind, this is the one you're looking for. The mun is a fantastic person for whom there is no such thing as too many threads!

4) @morgansmornings -- Jayden Morgan is an OC that defies easy description, because she's a multi-layered character that blooms as the plot thickens. She's amazingly insightful, and manages to be all the things you need her to be, but because she doesn't care to show off, you might not realize or appreciate it until the pressure's on. Whether baking cakes or recruiting suicide squads, Jay's got your number. The mun is twice as sweet as any of her muse's cakes, and must be protected at all costs -- be kind! shakes finger at the masses

5) @brooklynislandgirl -- I can't possibly say enough about the OC Beth Riley or her mun. Beth is a quiet, compassionate, willful nurse that wields staggering powers, and harbors a vast array of family secrets that would knock you down as surely as any of her abilities. She is a character whose origins and history have been so meticulously crafted, and whose family of faceclaims have been so carefully curated, it's hard to believe she doesn't actually exist somewhere. Her accent is painstakingly represented in her dialogue. No matter what verse you find her in, it's crystal clear she is a labor of love. In addition, the mun's writing acumen is nothing short of wondrous, and I consider it a true privilege to write with, and be inspired by, such talent.

☠  —  don’t  open,  dead  inside  !  wait,  who’s  that  again  ?  oh  yeah, elena sanchez,  the  cisfemale that’s  been  seen  on  their  own  around atlanta,  georgia, recently.  she  is twenty-five years  old  and  looks  a  lot  like cierra ramirez,  and  they’re  usually  out  running  around  with  a  survival knife.  every  time  we  cross  paths,  they  always  seem  to  have  moon charm  on  them.  which  makes  sense,  since  they  remind  most  strangers  of  the quiet contentment that follows a night filled with laughter, a deer in headlights,  and surprisingly blinding smiles. i  guess  we  better  let  them  through  !  we  can’t  just  leave  them  for  the  walkers  !  —  (  jess.  22.  est.  she/her.  )

backstory / before outbreak (neglect tw)

born in lose angeles to a widowed mother who had a brief dance with fame in her twenties and spent the rest of her life chasing that fame, at the expense of her two daughters

initially motherhood and childbirth provided a distraction, and for a few years there, elena had a happy childhood. but then her mother realized there was bank in child actors, and both elena and her sister were then subjected to auditions and filming for any hollywood project looking for kids, before her mother eventually found that unfulfilling to her own vanity and picked up her fame chasing again

that period of time was about the only time her mother actually cared/paid any attention to her children, after that, while the girls always had their basic needs met, they were essentially left on their own for everything else  

elena had a hard time accepting that, and for years she tried to sway their mother back to be loving and attentive, but without any success, and she’s always had a hard time reconciling the fact that she is not enough for her mother

ironically, as she grew up, she found an interest in acting. it provided an escape from her troubled home life and release of pent up emotions. and, unlike her mother, elena actually had talent

pursued a career in acting. initially worked in commercials and “teenager #2″ parts before landing supporting and leading roles in a couple indie film projects

one recent pilot season, she struck gold and managed to land the main cast role of Brenda Del Vecchio in the new (probably CW lbr) show Blue Beetle!!

it became like really popular?? like CW popular, you know amongst the teens and comic book fans and scifi fans since it was about teenage superheros but also delved into a lot of techie planet time/space plots (think titans meets the 100), so if your muse would have watched a show like that, they probably would recognize elena

I actually have a whole page here dedicated to the Blue Beetle show with episode guides and character/plot descriptions if anyone had characters who wanted to geek out over it with elena

the show films in georgia, and elena was in the middle of filming for the second season when the world turned upside down

after outbreak

was a terrified mess

has no idea how she survived the initial chaotic outbreak because she was a mess

bunkered in her apartment and didn’t leave until she ran out of things to drink and eat

lived alone for a while, scavenging and running back to her apartment, before coming across cleo 

cleo quickly became a companion to elena, the two of them joining forces and surviving together in elena’s apartment

the two eventually decided to pack up and try to look for other survivors, and they ended up with a ragtag group on the outskirts of atlanta

they came across what seemed to be an abandoned movie theater, and decided to take it over, and for a short period of time, life was good. until one night when chaos happened. elena doesnt know what happened. all she knows is that somehow, walkers were let lose in the facility, and multiple members of their group were taken down

elena wanted to grab her pack and run, but found herself trying to find cleo first. she couldn’t. so she ran. 

on her own again for a while. she made a lap back to the theater after the attack, but didn’t see any signs of her group, so she decided to just head north

wandered her way into tennessee and ended up with the mountaintop community for a couple months, but on a solo run for new horoscopes, somehow found her way stumbling upon a herd and ran off 

didn’t stop running, after about a week she realized she’d wound up back in ga

personality & behavior & headcanons

has big girl next door energy

bubbly, outgoing, optimistic, compassionate, always trying to see the best in people

but also incredibly naive, cowardly, inexperienced, skittish, and a bit selfish

in the past she struggled with feelings of insecurity and inadequacy thanks to her poor relationship with her mother

those feelings have only been amplified with her inexperience in this new world 

has no real skills in relation to the apocalypse

has survived this long because she’s relied on others/has always run away from situations

has learned how to shoot a gun, but isn’t very good at it

took on the position of a medic’s apprentice in her first group because she became close to the medic in the group, so she knows some first aid, but is no expert

would make a DAMN good supply runner IF she’s wasn’t a lil punk who can’t fight for shit because she would 100% die if cornered 

except maybe not really because bitch’s flight or fight mode and self preservation skills are so strong that she’d probably come up with some dumb clever shit to get out of the situation OR more likely run on pure adrenaline for hours 

would like to feel Useful and like an Asset but didn’t feel like one at all in her old groups so she’s nervous about joining another

is nervous about forming attachments after losing cleo

is a nomad because it’s what She Knows Best, but she loves people and with minimal persuasion could be lured into a group again

carries around a wad of astrology clippings because she’s always loved reading her horoscope, and she feels like it adds some normalcy to her life and give her goals for her lonely days

the outbreaks have turned into a quieter person than she ever was? and more observant too? 

she used to like to people watch and make up stories for the people but now she does it all the time bc she’s usually by herself 

wanted: right now elena is a nomad, but for about 2 months she was with the mountaintop group, and right now she’s hovering not too far from the atlanta group’s territory, so I feel like there’s a lot to work with! 

mountaintop: elena was with them for 2 months recently, and was probably in a general member position. any friends, brief relationships, enemies, mentorships (she’s v susceptible to this okay she’s looking for parental figures with her own lacking, also she was probably under the wing of a medic to try to improve her knowledge), etc. would be great! she never returned after a solo run, so there’s angst potential there. and I’d love to do some flashback stuff until things make sense for them to be crossing paths again!

atlanta group: the goal is for her to end up with the atlanta group. rn she’s been hanging around their territory, and has probably run into a few of the members if they did supply runs or were scouting or whatnot. lots of potential for friendly relationships, alliances/trading partners (I’ll give you my pack or oreos if you give me your sunflower seeds type), even unfriendly interactions (fighting over water/goods/accidentally causing a minor walker attack), as well as someone to help recruit her to the group 

nomads: kinda in the same vein as everything on top, but with other nomads! potential for romantic relationships more plausible here too.

movie theater group: anyone who was on the outskirts of atlanta near the beginning who could have been in the ragtag group she was initially in. it didn’t run for long, maybe a month or two tops before they were separated by walkers

past life: elena was a celebrity before all of this! the question of what would happen to a celebrity during a zombie outbreak is exactly what caused me to create this muse, and I’d love to play around with different dynamics because of that. people who were fans and wanna talk to her about what was supposed to happen in s2 of bb. people who weren’t fans and didn’t like her/her show. people who think she was pampered and can’t carry her weight. people who maybe lost someone because they were in the city for a meet and greet or an extra for her show when things went to chaos. anything!
