#nobody gets a prize for correctly guessing which character yakumo relates to most #when the anime first came out and everybody hopped on the hype train #i scratched my chin thoughtfully and wondered.... would i like this? it seems like i would like this. should i watch it? #and all my friends around me said 'nah you'll probably hate it. it's really sad' #so i trusted them and ignored beastars the whole time. until now. when i saw the entire series at my LOCAL LIBRARY!!!! #so of course the curiosity wins out and i start reading it and i REALLY LIKE IT?? WTF WERE MY FRIENDS ON ABOUT? #this is sad yes but most of the time it's FUNNY? and also ANIMALS R COOL? bruh. i can't trust my friends' opinions of me anymore #anyway. due to the nature of my current nuca fixation timing. i kept thinking of it while reading #drawing parallels that may only exist in my mind LOL #i can imagine yaku being a freak over legoshi and his quest to become strong but not falling to his instincts and etc.etc. #yakugaru having a manga reading session in either o their bedrooms... lying on the floor engrossed in beastly tales... #these two would absolutely have a debate about which chara is most similar to eiden #to yaku it is obvs haru but i feel like garu would see eiden in a less.... prey sort of way #or maybe they'd agree on the haru comparison!! but yaku might hesitate to voice the 'mr eiden... has to be protected...' thoughts #and garu would proudly proclaim how eiden and haru share traits like bravery/outgoingness/super cool and go-getter/wise and worldly??? #i kept staring down louis like.... you're some mix of dante and edmond... and something else.... #UGH i like all the characters... they all have their charms.... they are all such creatures #honestly yahya the entire time was just relatable content and after seeing the way he lived out the rest of his life *chef's kiss* GOALS #nu carnival yakumo #nu carnival garu

okay so this is super self indulgent but preface for those who arent aware i have this whole full world for my ocs & basically its like a 50/50 chance for any given person to have psychic powers called abilities & this ability is entirely dependent on the person themself & has nothing to do with genetics. ur either born with them or u can get them if ur from a different world & are isekai'd in. the only real thing about abilities is it has to be something a person can do with their mind/state of mind & isnt just like some super power like super strength.

anyway i realized this week i feel like i know the isotopes well enough so i ended up spending a lot of time thinking of what abilities they would have and i give u all my final decisions!!!

Kafu: she has something im going to call window creation. basically the ability to call forth 'windows' which ranges from just invisible walls in the air to creating a pane that lets her (or anyone near by to see it) see into a different place, time, or both. these are in effect solid walls/windows so its theoretically possible to use them as a weapon but given how kafu is i doubt she would think that way & instead would take a more defensive route, using them as a sort of force field or to get info the group otherwise wouldn't know

Sekai: i'm calling hers shadow manipulation. she can take control of shadows in the area and turn them into a semi-physical thing & from there pretty much becomes a distance attacker or defender depending on both her mood & what's necessary. i would like to think she also keeps a little shadow as a pet & it just follows her around or sits on her shoulder. the shadows can change shape btw

Rime: pyromancy. she gets to create & control fire at will. i like to think she puts too much pressure on herself to learn it & ends up unable to do it at first because of that but the second she lets herself breathe she finally gets it & from there puts in so much practice that her style with it ends up absolutely beautiful to watch. default flame color is red bc thats her color but it changes color/temperature with her emotions. u threaten one of the others and watch how fast it ends up blue-white.

Coko: fox. by shifting her mental state she can transform into a fox & while in that form can do things like create wil o wisp/fox fire & force fields, but mostly i think she'd specialize in creating illusions. she probably actually has multiple tails in that form but after drawing the rest of her outfit i thought one was enough to get the idea across. yes this is the third time im giving a chara this ability its bc im not allergic to fun normally people cant talk in the fox form but i like her so i guess she gets a little telepathy as a treat too.

Haru: consciousness walking. that is, she can separate her consciousness from her physical body & move around almost like a ghost. she can interact with the physical world on a minimal level in this state, but more importantly it allows her to see & interact with other people's consciousnesses in a way that's very easy to mess with their perception of the world & throw off their judgment & things like that. kind of like astral projection but not really, also if she gets really skilled with it she'd be able to move both her physical & spiritual forms at once although that is very tiring

funniest thing about dorohedoro is the way that q hayashida never canonized any of her het pairings... nikaido and kaiman have their “you are my best friend!” moment and shin is like “she is my partner!” about noi and thats it. q hayashida did what authors usually do to their very obviously gay pairings. she is so powerful

"Honestly, I accept the Splatfest results. Only because I can now say 'Frye-day' is the best day."

Haru snickers to himself as Zach groans, clearly unamused at the pun. The two boys sit at a table in Splatsville, Sylvia having gone to get food for the three of them. Since Inkopolis Square was off-limits for them to play turf for a bit, Splatsville was a nice change of pace for battles.

"No more puns..."

He scrolls through his phone, quiet. Haru leans his head on his hand, making a few noises with his mouth as they waited.

"Sylvia is taking a long time... Do you think we should go see if she needs help carrying stuff?"

"Yeah. She's probably trying to figure out how to carry everything without dropping things..."

The boys stand from their chairs, heading towards the small area Sylvia was supposed to be at. Instead of finding her there struggling to carry the food, they found a different sight.

"What's the matter? Are you just going to sit there and say nothing??"

Sylvia was typically a "keep your feelings hidden with a lock and key" kind of Inkfish. As such, when someone bothers her or tries to get under her skin... She usually can keep a straight face and hide how she's feeling.

This is not such a time.

Sylvia looked angry, her left eye is bruised. And there’s a few marks on her arms bleeding... She doesn't speak, waiting for... something. There's an inkling girl standing over Sylvia, smiling.

"Sylvia!"

"Sylvia!"

Both boys rush over to her, Sylvia's eyes widening as they approached her. She had hoped they wouldn’t come looking for her, guess she took a little too long to deal with… this.

"…Go back to the table…"

Sylvia’s voice is quiet, she won’t look at them.

"Awww, how cute. Your little brothers came to your rescue… Just looking at them is a reminder of how superior I am compared to you half-lings."

Sylvia glared, the girl in front of her grinning.

"One’s got two missing limbs, barely passes for an Octoling, the other’s got a damaged one, looks like an ugly mix between your parents… Maybe I should fix that—"

“Touch either one of them and I’ll fucking rip your tentacles off your body, Cassidy.”

Sylvia warned, both boys’ eyes widening at the aggressiveness in her tone. There’s a bit of recognition in the name Sylvia says, both boys struggling to recall anything and instead try to help their sister.

"Hmm… Fine, I’m done here anyways… Just wanted to make a point, and considering I don’t have a scratch on me, I made it. I suggest staying out of my way next time, and if I see you around here again, you’ll get more than a little black eye."

Sylvia keeps her eyes on the other girl as she walks away, spitting out a bit of blood and wiping her mouth with her sweatshirt sleeve.

"Here, let me help you up—"

"Don’t!"

Sylvia yanked her arm away from him, like if he touched her she’d be burned. She’d never reacted that way to him or Zach…

i find this conversation about popularity in the a3 fandom very interesting but it is another layer of fun how we’re discussing how Winter and Spring are so usually “second popular characters” and more unpopular in general (unpopular as in, “not on the fav top list”, not in disliked) while the whole conversation was sparkled by a friend who mostly knows my posts

because i still have the a3 sorter i made a while ago and i would still say it’s pretty accurate and so, you look at my top 12 (because i’m too lazy to edit it down to 10 <3) and it’s just, ah yes,

the most representative ranking of the popularity in this fandom 

#i totally agree with the conclusions we've been going with in term of popularity but it's so funny #we're discussing fuyu and haru relative lack of popularity on my blog where this is what my top looks like #because my friend went 'i assume fuyu is the most popular' because of my posts which are. well. #ichatalks about a3 #i'll prob need to redo the ranking once i'm done redoing the story #bc i'm being very found of Tsumugi lately and it's possible i might switch Tsumu and Homare's place in the ranking #but i need to see once i reread winter bc if Homare's arc hits again i can't properly change this top #the summer and autumn charas are already struggling for their lives in this damn top #me: talking non stop about how much i love banri / also me: only puts him in 11th position #not because i don't like him he's 'one of my fav characters' but we're struggling here. #i guess i could swap Yuki and Banri but. #yeah we'll see once i'm done rereading #that said the top 6 is very strong #except for Tasu and Itaru eventually swapping depending on when Itaru's brainrots kicks in #goodness.

MAGU HARU SONG LETS GOOOO (pretending im not slightly sad they skipped over coko) so on first listen i didnt hear the motif & theres no bg text either that i noticed but it HAS to be a series a song and let me tell u why even without taking apart all the lyrics (yet). 敗北ランド 実際は排他　失敗社会だ 理解がない (a defeated land, truth is excluded / its a failed society, i dont get it[lyric not my thoughts]) as well as the そのせいで towards the end being VERY close to the sono sei wa from kugutsu ashura. as well as various other word choices like yeah. yeah this is a series song for sure. i also like how they make the cool street style kind of character who clearly doesnt want to put up with it and shes STILL better behaved than whatever the unplanned apoptosis chara had going on. like this girl is complaining FOR REAL but shes not calling people bitches to their face
