#immortal zisu
Text
I'm back at it with the "depot agent cloud is Zisu" agenda and I have no regrets.
Tumblr media
Don't worry about it Ingo. I'm sure this doesn't mean anything. No implications that span centuries. None at all.

"Trainwreckshipping is... Well, it's not bad, but... The 'wreck' part is in the name for a good reason. I guess I can see how it came about, **but I feel like it could be handled a lot better than what I've seen of it"**
I was going through your ask posts. What does this mean? How so?
Well, a lot of ships can come about because of the idea for an interesting dynamic.
For trainwreckshipping, I believe the potential is there for an interesting dynamic, but the problem is that the way I've seen it handled tends to focus more on senseless masochism in ways that don't fit well(and believe me, there's much better ways to make it fit well), instead of focusing on the potential for growth in the characters.
Volo is an inherently selfish character, which is a fact proven easily by his willingness to try and recreate the world. When a particularly selfish character gets attached to someone, they don't tend to let go easily, which is a dynamic that I haven't seen tapped into. Additionally, getting to know Emmet, the one of the train twins who was left behind when Ingo was ripped through time(due to Volo's own shenanigans) could leave him to fester in guilt he thought long since dead and buried. This could(even SHOULD) be even more emphasized in a shipping situation between Volo and Emmet, as there could end up being the additional burden of growing guilt at the pain of loss caused in the partner.
On the other end of the potential, we have Emmet. Emmet, who speaks his mind, regardless of what others may think. The potential for that being used in a pairing with Volo could be so good, and yet it's hardly touched upon by the trainwreckshipping I've seen(most of which I've stumbled across accidentally whilst trying to find more and more submas content, but the point still stands). Emmet could easily notice and point out the ways Volo could get clingy, leading to Volo getting more aware of how attached he's getting. Emmet talking about trying to find his brother could add further guilt to Volo for not admitting he knows where that brother has gone.
There's so much potential, but the problem is how it's wasted in things like 'Oh, it's an immortal masochist Volo with a Zoroark Emmet' that ignores all that potential for character development, and interesting interactions between the two.
I feel like, if it were handled closer to how I see the ships with Ingo in them(such as Melli and Ingo, or Zisu and Ingo), where it's more heavily focused on the potential interactions between the characters, and the changed that it could make in them, then it would be possible for Trainwreckshipping to not be seen as quite so much of a 'wreck' anymore. It just needs to dig into that potential a little bit more.
Does that make sense?

random things in my take on pla:
rei is kamado's son
rye and his lucario is riley and his lucario. he's immortal after he fucked around and found out. sometimes he chats with cogita and they pointedly don't mention how long these chats have been going on.
marie is a member of the survey corps, tho her job is solely focused on any pokemon brought back from a survey rather than going out to explore
rei has a pachirisu instead of a pikachu because pls. no more pikachu.
zisu has an alpha lopunny. she saw it, went 'thats the cutest thing in existence' and then proceeded to wrestle it until it went into a poke ball. everyone is terrified of it besides her.
vessa is lowkey sibling-adopted by jess (she doesn't know about the spiritomb thing) and is an unofficial member of the survey corps just bc she hangs out there so much

So when I was talking about Immortal Zisu...
I had a thought about astral au and now Zisu is a star.
Tumblr media
Technically she has a lifespan but. Stars live so long man. She won't have any problems waiting around to meet Ingo again in modern day. But being there to witness the other side of what happened to Ingo...
Tumblr media
There are now two people who unfortunately can't touch Ingo. Someone call Elesa, we need a normal human to drag him around places.

If I had a nickel for every time I have done Cloud is an immortal Zisu I would have two nickels. Which is not a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.
(I just love the inherent romantics of someone waiting hundreds of years for their love, the comedy potential of Zisu seeing Ingo before eeby and thinking "lmao he's so adorable", the additional comedy of Ingo realizing he accidentally (amnesia moment) cheated on his girlfriend with herself if he dated cloud before eeby, and Zisu learning how the modern world works so I don't have to deal with fish out of water.)
