my first clownpierce design (left) and my current design (right)
ramble about design ahead (sory :c)
i think i like the current one better. it looks like it would actually exist. to be fair while designing my brain was scrolling through every victorian outfit aesthetic whatever image i have ever seen... so thats probably why it turned out the way it did.
also the horns being there make his face a big triangle, and if you know anything about character design then thank you because im not explaining shapes in design. unless someone asks. then i probably would--
i know the checker patterns on him make him look really confusing, but i think itd be better to look like an abstract blur when youre fighting someone. just to confuse them yk. clownconfuse. but thats also why i used the white frills. it seperates those confusing parts a lil bit, just easier on the eyes that way.
and yeag the satyr thing never really went away. i just later on decided to show the hooves beacuse its fun drawing them. i do like the bells on shoes idea but now he has them all over his cape so, extra clownjingle
final thing, mean smile on his mask. would definitely say ''tee hee'' after ''accidentally'' committing 4 war crimes in a day

JLPT N1 Experience
Tumblr media
So first of all, Happy New Year. It has been a while since I've updated this blog. I've been feeling depressed in the past few weeks, I think it's because of drawing? I feel like I haven't been performing well in art, and that it's hard to accept painful truth that I cannot please everyone- not that it matters on this blog, but it's WHY I decide to take some time to write an update here.
I was supposed to talk about my first experience with N1 but I got busy after. I caught up in many stuff, I guess, plus I was busy with my birthday and helping my family's work throughout the month. But now that it's over, let's talk shall we?
Before That
I haven't talked about my last week strategy, here's what I did.
Stopped learning Kanji and do the drills instead
Finished Shinkanzen Grammar in the first section. I had some days left, so I skimmed through the second section without doing the exercise (I did for A - D i think but- I definitely shouldn't)
Borrowed these two books (pic below). For reading, I did every bit of every question style (there were like 6 of them right? Short passage, Long, etc.)
And for listening, I tried to rush through it but I kinda gave up with the chapter III or IV I'm not sure.
I switched between two of them on the last day
Tumblr media
FYI the blue book is actually fantastic! I think I've said it before but it has explanation for each answers. I think it's super cool.
Now For N1
Chapter 1: Before exam
For context, I travelled to the exam location alone, so I wasn't bounded by anyone and I could roam anywhere. I got out early, and arrived there pretty early. But walking from the entrance to the exam spot took a while, to the point where I doubted to myself if I was going in the right direction. There were many people there already. I think the morning peeps had already entered the room when I arrived.
I had lunch and... wander around (Typical Pikmin Bloom player). There wasn't much to do anyway. I decided to take a quick review of some onomatopoeia and other vocabs. I think at that point, nothing is more important than vocabs. It was a while before they allowed us to go up the building. Anyway, I SAW A KID in a highschooler outfit in front of the same room as mine! IM- I DON'T KNOW?? HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO BE THIS GOOD AT THAT AGE?? And of course we entered the room. I sat not so far from the entrance.
One thing that bothers me is the fact that they never announced to bring a mask but they asked everyone to wear it in the room?? Luckily, I had it on already.
Chapter 2: The Exam
Sorry for the long introduction haha. SO, starting off with vocabs, grammars, and reading. I skipped to grammar secion first because it's not too hard or too easy. It's all fuzzy now but I did okay(?)
There was あっての that's pretty easy. But there was one of them that bugged me and I was wrong on that one too. It's といたしまして... so weird, I didn't expect it to answer that. ALSO, HONORIFIC VERB CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD but i think i answered it right.
Then onto reading section because I was really scared if I couldn't finished it. It- took me a while to finish each of them but in a fair amount of time. It's like 10 minutes left that I switched to doing vocabs with a lightning speed because I FORGOT there was a fill in the blanks and not just guessing kanji's reading.
I almost got 誇張 (こちょう) wrong as こうちょう
There were 奇跡、偏り、矛盾、賄う、軽率 in which i had no problems
Filling the words is where I had problem due to hurriness. I missed the 快挙 cause I don't know the word.
見返り too, because there was a word that I thought it meant (repay) and not the first
I GOT ONOMATOPOEIA WRONG ANYwAY HECC YEA i didn't know what つくづく means so i went with きっかり or きっぱり im not sure
Also there was a sentence that was supposed to mean "His body condition was..." I thought it was "worsen" so I went with 崩れる except no it's the opposite "ほぐれる". I didn't know that word but i've seen it before it's the goodamn spirit's name from the game.
I didn't know what 尺度 means or how it is read but I got the meaning substitution right (yay) (it's standard)
Here's the fun one. デマ... THIS WORD THAT I NEED TO GUESS HOW IT IS USED WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING ITS MEANING. I tried to came up with the word this word could come from. Dermatologist? Demand? Theme??? (that's テーマ) I had no idea and got it wrong eventually. Can you guess?
It's "Demagogie", a German word meaning false rumor... WHO WOULD'VE GUESSED. I asked one of my Japanese if she knew. Of course she did. She even gave me an alternative for it too... but I forgot. I only know that's it in katakana (im sorry)
Last minute i left one Mondai randomly answered!
For Choukai, it was so goddamn fast. I am certain that if it wasn't fast, it would be manageable for me. I honestly don't know if I scored it well or not, the last listening part were as hard as ever. ONE THING ABT IT THOUGH, there was a part where they were talking in a cafe about how the shop owner use a coffee beans? I think?
Tumblr media
ANd FOR GOD'S SAKE WHAT'S WITH THE BACKGROUND MUSIC??? My concentration was popped away, I kept glancing around wondering if what I was hearing was someone's phone or the tape's music. I don't even know what the question really was to be honest.
What's Next?
I- I don't know. I just need to wait for the result. But I'll try to slowly get back to learning a bit Korean and Japanese every day again. Probably need to brush up Memrise and Anki. At least 5 mins a day haha. Thanks for reading til here. Keep on learning! I'll make sure to do my best for learning languages this year too!
I don't have new year's resolution but I guess.. continue ASL? I got busy that I have no time to do it anymore. I doubt if I can do it, considering I'll be busy with internship next academic year.
Anyway, have a great year everyone. Hope you have a good luck and success with studying and anything you are willing to pursue this year.

At any other school, he’d be the ace of the team.
Kurofes: Imayoshi | Wakamatsu | Sakurai | Susa
Using alisayamins scans for the page above! Below the cut is the transcription and a few notes. Hope you enjoy it 💓
An all-rounder overflowing with intelligence!!
The unsung hero supporting the team with clever, flawless plays!
PROFILE ●Height: 190cm ●Weight: 80kg ●Birthday: June 15 (Gemini) ●Blood type: A ●Motto: Less is more (there is such a thing as too much of a good thing/the last drop makes the cup run over) ●Favorite food: Ginkgo nuts ●Hobby: Submitting postcards to his favorite radio program (the specific term means “a regular contributor who has submitted many excellent story postcards and illustrated postcards to a particular radio program, and whose name is widely known by other program listeners” (wikipedia). damn susa!) ●Special skill: Flying a kite (specifically western kites) ●Best school subject: English grammar ●Committee: Not a part of any committee ●Family: Father, mother, older sister ●Dislikes/not good with: Imayoshi’s jokes (i wonder if its "not good with" in the sense that its hard to tell when imayoshis joking (like in touous epilogue), or if he just dislikes his sense of humor lol) ●Special skill (basketball): Fadeaway shot ●Type of girls he likes: Girls who wear glasses* ●How he spends his time off: Listening to his favorite radio program* ●Why he started playing basketball: Joined mini basketball with his friends (elementary school) ●Player he has his eye on: Miyaji Kiyoshi *why part of his profile is missing from the page: i just forgot 2 lines but the whole thing fit so perfectly into the box without them. i didnt have the heart to add them in and make it look ugly. im sorry.
He keeps a low profile, but his talent is the real thing!! Aomine's genius might overshadow him, but Susa's abilities are on the level of an ace! His reserved attitude appeals to the fans!!
He displays excellent prowess in both offense and defense!! He switched from power forward to small forward after Aomine joined. At any other school, he'd be the ace of the team.
A word from Fujimaki-sensei! He and Kaijou's Kobori are both pretty plain. He looks smart. -> that comment was a little hard to understand exactly, but the point is that susa and kobori are plain in the exact same way. “his plainness rivals that of kaijou's kobori”, maybe? why on earth does the verb he used have 27 definitions. im just guessing at this point
KUROtter!! Our man behind the scenes full of charisma and talent hidden within! He's just so cool! (Mx. M, Shizuoka prefecture) ->they use いぶし銀 which means like, something that has a lot of charm and talent but none of it is reflected in its outside appearance. i really had no idea how to say it in english (succinctly) :/

Hi days! Since im currently under quarantine, I've been meaning to write my own Naruhina fanfic and i think this is the perfect opportunity to start! im just wondering if you have any tips with writing and also on using AO3 since I'm pretty new to the site :) Thank you so much and I hope ur doing well!
AHHHH HAVE FUN!!!!
I have so many tips???  For planning, editing, posting, and general thoughts.  I’m sorry, it got out of hand 🙈  Also, everything below the cut are just my own opinions (even if they’re phrased like laws lol).  Other writers will have differing opinions.
Planning Tips 🗒:
1. First to make absolutely clear, you don’t have to plan.  You can write whatever you want because it’s your story.
2. But it’s useful to have a detailed summary or general outline.
3. And it’s useful to choose your verb tense & POV before you start.
4. It’s easier for most people to write from just one perspective (limited 3rd Person).  An example of this would be “Nightdreams,” for which I only wrote Naruto’s thoughts.  Limited 3rd is useful to build angst because everyone can only guess at what the other character is thinking!
5. But if you want both POVs shown, that’s fun, too!!  I’ve done that in diff. ways.  “Undercover” and “Catskin” switches throughout.  “White Lilies” has half/half of the chapter.  “Inspo” switches each chapter.  Whatever you choose, do it deliberately for the amount of information you want to share with the reader!
6. Keep your verb tense consistent!  It’s easier to write in present tense, even though we were taught in school to write stories in past tense.  If your character is having a flashback, you can easily make that distinction between present and past by switching to past tense.
Editing Tips ✅:
1. Each new paragraph belongs to only 1 character’s thoughts, words, and actions.
2. Vary sentence length!  Short sentences and fragments are wonderful to indulge in.
3. Try to keep each paragraph short (no more than about 4 lines).  A bilingual reader told me it’s easier to process.
4. Try to open a chapter with a description of the environment (sounds, space, or feelings) rather than talking or conversation so that you can immerse the reader in the story right away.
5. If you want a beta, set clear parameters for what you want the beta to look for.  Be specific.  Examples: you want the beta to check your spelling and punctuation, you want the beta to check for clarity in a certain section, you want the beta to be like a soundboard for you to bounce ideas off of, you want the beta to check for sensitivity.  Btw, if you don’t want a beta, that’s absolutely fine.
6. If your story is set in a Japanese-influenced world, please don’t italicize Japanese words.  That just draws attention to a word that doesn’t need attention.  Italics should be used for emphasis, thoughts, maybe words in a letter or newspaper the character is reading.
7. If the characters all have Japanese names, like in Naruto, please find appropriate names for any OCs you make.  This is arguable for an alternate universe.
Posting to AO3 Tips 👊🏼:
1. Write your story on a Google Doc, then when you’re ready, copy&paste into AO3′s RICH TEXT (Not HTML) BOX.
Tumblr media
It’s always defaulted to HTML.  So make sure you click that Rich Text button before you paste the story in, otherwise your formatting’s gonna get all funky.
2. Before you Post, read through your story!  AO3 sometimes doesn’t “return” your paragraphs properly, so just make sure your spacing is all good.
3. Also check your words that are italicized.  AO3 sometimes adds extra spaces between italicized and normal words.
4. Look at similar stories to yours to see how they tagged ships, triggers, and genres.  The wall of tags is very important!
5. Keep your story summary simple.  If your story follows a popular trope, you might want to highlight that in the summary.
Miscellaneous Tips 🌻:
1. Have no shame.
2. If you learn by following examples (like I do), study your favorite stories and take mental notes on what makes that story so good to you.  Is it the formatting?  Is it the subject?  Is it the characterization?  What did the writer do?  Turn an analytical eye on those stories.
For example, while I was writing Nightdreams, I studied the formatting (transitions, verb tense, point of view, etc.) in @katarinahime‘s “Serenity Prayer” and the use of description in @missa-chua‘s “Unless the World Were to End.”  I reread them several times.  I tried to emulate their styles in my own writing.
3. For the love of ramen, please don’t make ramen seem like some foreign food that Hinata has never tried before.  Please.
4. Follow @ao3commentoftheday to get a whole writing community’s tips!!  The moderator responds everyday to asks on a wide range of writing concerns.
5. YOU CAN FORGET EVERYTHING HERE IF YOU LIKE AND JUST DO WHATEVER YOU WANT.  It’s your story!
You are your own #1 Reader.  Write what you want to read because literally no one’s going to read it as often as you do!  This is allllll about what YOU want!
If you have any questions about something I didn’t cover or you’d like me to expand on a tip, let me know :)  Thank you for asking!  And I am so excited!
I hope you love your fanfic!!!!!
