[[ok gang i am genuinely so sorry to be doing this literally RIGHT before the end of the event but i've got a whole buncha stuff lining up irl that i am starting to reeeaaally need to address/prioritize and there are a couple things that i still want to do for the "finale" here that i haven't had the time to set up, so all of this is to say iiii need to take at least a day or two to Slow Down And Chill for a bit

I haven't entirely decided if this means I'll take a full break like i have been for the weekends or if I'll just post a little less than I have been, it depends on how I end up feeling really. I will absolutely try my best to make up for the days I've missed tho! I have something pretty cool planned that I think has the potential to be pretty fun, just like i said I gotta set things in place first haha]]

please for the love of god tell me im not the only one who doesnt want keanu reeves shadow everywhere i go people are saying it but i dont get it at all and it feels like people are just saying it because hes played "edgy" characters or whatever and they think that that alone means he would be good for shadow

#or theyre just saying it because of the jokes about sonic liking keanu reeves #i dont really like the idea of a main characters voice actor being a certain person just for the sake of continuing a joke. tbh.#also it kinda bugs me that like 95 percent of the suggestions for who should play animated characters in the sonic movies #arent voice actors but like . celebrities who mostly or exclusively do live action stuff #like im fine with people with less voice acting experience being cast as long as they care about getting the character right #and are a good fit for the role etc etc #i dont think blocking off voice acting roles to anyone who doesnt have a certain amount of experience is the solution #because everyone has to start somewhere and sometimes a mostly live action actor really IS a good fit for a voice acting role #but i would greatly prefer actual voice actors be given these roles. tbh.#i really do not like the trend in animated movies or live action movies with animated characters #of the entire cast being made up of random celebrities just being handed voice acting roles that they dont really fit #just so there can be big names attached to the project. like the mario movie for example #like if it does end up being keanu i will accept it i will give him a chance. but idk if i will like it.

#i have never understood the character = actor thing #like genuinely i dont fucking get it at all #if anything i think it both discredits the actors effort and the people that actually created the medias efforts #actors very rarely have anything to do with the characters creation nor do they have anything to do with a character outside of portraying #them like tbh i feel like its a massive insult to the work that goes into acting and writing #plus i just dont really care for actors personally #but thats just a me thing #idk!!! charlie cox does not equal matt murdock he had nothing to do with creating matt murdock #or like cillian murphy as jonathan crane #i dont like jonathan crane because he looks like cillian murphy i just like jonathan crane #like yeah he did a great job with acting in the trilogy and portrayed him great #but cillian murphy doesnt have any of the traits i like in jonathan crane idgaf about that guy aside from like two roles hes done #i dont know man #i just feel like itd be shitty to put months or years into the creation of media #into method acting and portraying these characters with the help of writers and directors #just for characters to not be acknowledged as seperate from their actors #idk. like jonathan crane is played by cillian murphy they have the same face whatever #but that is in no way shape or form the same guy at ALLLLL #idk. also fucks with fandom portrayals of characters #i.e booktok white women projecting poorly written smut onto every middle aged man ever #like you dont look at animated media and equate that character to their VA why would you do it for live action shit #you dont look at writers work and equate their characters to themselves #uuugggggghhhhh #plus i think the film idustry in general tends to give actors too much credit for the creation of media #not to say actors do nothing because they definetly do im interested in acting myself #but brother they r not the ones that direct and write and edit and sound mix and all this other shit #skyler posting #soigh #anyways

#i need to vent a little im sorry pls ignore this if u are bothered by my thoughts #SH tw !!!!!!#this morning i was supposed to have my weekly therapy session but i had to cancel bc my mom got covid and obviously stayed home from work #and i do online therapy and i didnt feel comfortable doing it with my mom around but i really needed to do it tbh #and then my professor replied to my email with all of the things ive been working on since august and didnt say anything about the material #he just asked to call me on the phone tomorrow and i started to spiral…. like Spiral with a capital s #even now thinking about it my stomach sinks bc i have this feeling that his feedback is going to be negative and i just know my #barely existent self esteem is going to break and idk what im gonna do with myself then #this afternoon while i was spiraling all i wanted to do was /hurt/ myself. i kept thinking that i wasnt good enough and i had done a #horrible job.. so bad that he couldnt even tell me by email but needed to do it on the phone and i felt like throwing up and i couldnt get #/that/ thought out of my head and i could only cry #and all of this not even actually knowing what my professors feed back is going to be because this is just all in my head #but i was talking to my school friends and they were like oh its gonna be fine even if he doesnt like it u can still put the project in ur #portfolio hes not even our professor anymore and so on #and i kept saying that i knew that but i just could not handle that sort of feedback and rejection mentally #i was telling them that i knew i would crumble if i got real negative feedback and i was terrified of that and they just couldnt get it and #idk it made me feel really lonely #im a bit calmer now but i feel so depressed #i am really anticipating something that will hurt really bad

A Midsummer Night's Dean Rating: Teen+ Word count: 16,948

A wild ride of a casefic loosely based on Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Featuring love potions, Dean having chronic foot-in-mouth-disease, Cas being SO down bad it's dangerous, and Sam wanting to be literally anywhere else but here. I've been told this fic has made people laugh so hard, it has awoken children and brought concerned family members a'knocking on doors.

Innervate A series currently containing two fics, with a few more additions planned! This series follows Cas' developing relationship to his body and how he navigates through the world with it. It's full of fun science and anatomy, alternate angel lore, and LOTS of UST between Dean and Cas (don't worry, it will get resolved... eventually lol. This is a series-long slow burn)

Check out Prelude as a sampler for vibes (full disclosure-- this was a WIP for a LOOOOOONG time so while this fic was uploaded in 2023 the writing is far older than that)

Long Black Cloud Coming Down Rating: Gen Word Count: 3,540

Taking place prior to s1, teen!Dean has to act quick and think fast when Sammy suddenly comes down with a fever. He can't let his thoughts race too far though, or he just might start believing that whatever's going on is more than just a fever and a snow storm.

it makes me laugh a little bc i was so scared of showing my crocheted isopod to the group bc these women are all in their 60s-80s and they've been knitting for most of their lives so they're all way more advanced than I am, and my isopod turned out swell but it is a tad wonky, the shell plates are not perfectly lined up etc etc

so i was scared they were going to react to it like "ohh isn't that neat :)" sort of patronizing when u can tell they think smth is darling in the same way a child's drawing is darling fsdjkl, but NO !!

THEY WERE ALL SO IMPRESSED. like genuinely in awe and delighted by this little critter HFDSFJKL ?? i think it's because they don't make plushie type of things basically ever, they just make clothing type items (i wish i could show yall some of the sweaters these women have made, some of them are absolutely STUNNING), so the isopod was just so much different from what they're used to seeing maybe? and that's why they thought it was so cool?

I DUNNO they just made me bring it out again every time a new person came into the room to join us the day i brought it JFDSJKL and then they'd all pass it around again and fawn over it and i was just so confused and ridiculously pleased bc i'd been so afraid to show it before 😭

#THEYRE SO INCREDIBLY NICE HONESTLY #i love this group sm dsgjkl im so so so glad i have joined #they've all been so welcoming and they are like. genuinely happy when i arrive :')#and they engage me in conversations and ask me questions abt my projects AUGH theyre so kind #makes me get emotional if i think abt it too much tbh sdjkfjkl idk if i've ever felt so much like an actual human being before fdsjkl #the only downside is i cannot talk abt it w mother bc she had an old lady group a few yrs ago that was cliquey and not welcoming to her #so she gets really angry at me if things go well for me when they didnt go well for her fdsjkl #which wouldnt be an issue in this case except for the fact that she ASKS me about the group every now and then fdsjkl #i just have to be very vague without being suspicious and go ''it was okay yeah so'n'so is making this cool sweater/scarf/hat/etc''#and leave it at that fdsjkl #pippen needs 2nd breakfast

Love to go back to my desk once I've woken up and see whatever weird thing I was working on at like 5 am. This one I think is genuinely interesting but also would look so deranged to anyone else 😭 I was writing a color coded guide to how I group drivers in my head with examples with different grids(i.e. how the demographics change) and now I want to write one for all of the 2000-now grids. Completely normal behavior what are you talking about

#let me know if anyone wants to see it :D i like to do these little projects for myself bcs its fun to be meticulous #but as i said i do think its really interesting what the demographic of the grid is #(how i group them is basically about debut year which comes with certain impressions on my part)#but i say it looks deranged bcs one time i showed my dad my f1 guide book #(i have a notebook where i wrote down guides of all the grids like with teams/drivers/team changes/etc)#(and also write down all of the race wknd results from this season)#and hes like '...oooookayyyyyyy 😶'#ITS FUN FOR ME OKAY #im just fond of 'record keeping' ig and i really think the older grids are interesting #id love to do the 90s but the further back you go the more confusing it gets tbh #like only a handful of drivers ik from then and also more drivers #i actually have written grid guides twice....sry its rly fun actually 😭#but bcs i switched notebooks and i wanted to make a better one #but it was so interesting bcs i made the first one when i was getting into f1 and then the 2nd one was like after i had watched older races #so the first time i only knew a couple drivers but then 2nd time i recognized practically every name #lmao this started bcs i had to write a 2023 guide to myself so i could memorize all the teams and drivers #and i remember really not knowing like any of them but now i think i could do back until 2018 from memory #before that gets a bit hsrd just because there's a lot of drivers that just come and go super quickly and leave not much impression imo #okay anyways now i must embark on my deranged organizational adventure #catie.rambling.txt

Hi, I wanted to ask you what do you think about the Rebecca easter egg of RE2? Since the picture was undeveloped and Wesker never showed interest in her I think it has no deeper canon meaning but it lead many people to think that he had a thing for her, shipping them or atleast make jokes about it (all of that makes me uncomfortable, it's just creepy)

omg i think about this a lot cos it pisses me off. its just such a stretch to claim hes predatory for an easter egg that Only exists to serve Gameplay but ive seen people with their whole chest say that this + wesker mode in re0 mean hes genuinely creeping on her. i think the narratives treatment of rebecca chambers is its own beast but this in particular is just one of those times where fandom is like, intentionally dense for the sole purpose of making an antagonist more fucked up.

cos when people do take this read on it its never actually about rebecca i feel? they never want to read her as having been preyed upon or think about what that means for her character. its all about making the story [or just making wesker] "creepier" and more "unnerving". i had a mutual who made a thread abt how we should talk about the "real" creepy things in RE and this was one of them? so its really clear to me its never been about rebecca to many people

tl;dr im very tired of ppl spreading the rebecca photo thing [which takes a lot of effort to encounter in the first place and is definitely not canon, half the traps and secrets in resi as a series arent necessarily diagetic and only exist for gameplay] completely uncritically and as if its canon information that wesker preyed upon her

#my brother is making me watch ms marvel #and y'know i think this is one of those marvel projects that's actually good excluding the marvel aspects #like im enjoying the slice of life teenager elements and the representation #but also knowing it was made by a studio that treats its vfx artists horribly and doesn't really care about its stories #makes it less enjoyable #tbh i hope it's the type of thing that will inspire other non-marvel creators to make their own shows with this vibe #but also. if my brother's gonna watch it anyway i can still enjoy the parts that unironically slap
