Cerca de la estación de trenes de la ciudad se escuentra la Iglesia Evangélica de Limburg, un impresionante templo de tres naves, de estilo neogótico, construido entre 1864 y 1865. Esta pequeña capilla cuenta con una extensa historia. Es la Iglesia Evangélica Luterana Independiente de St. John en Limburg, y fue construida entre 1322 y 1324 como capilla del monasterio para el Monasterio de Eberbach. Después de la secularización de los monasterios en 1803, la capilla pasó a manos de los príncipes de Nassau-Usingen, quienes la usaban como almacén de sal y el ático como granero. En 1830, el gobierno ducal dejó la capilla a la recién fundada comunidad evangélica y al año siguiente era la primera iglesia evangélica de Limburgo. El número de protestantes creció mucho en los siguientes años, por lo que vendieron el pequeño templo a la comunidad judía que la usó como sinagoga, pero la comunidad judía también creció rápidamente en los años siguientes y vendió la capilla al estado, que la destinó a ser un almacén de archivos. Estamos viendo el símbolo de la democracia y la unidad alemana: Paulskirche, en castellano, la iglesia de San Pablo, en el corazón histórico de Frankfurt, dado que fue allí donde, en 1848, se reunió el primer Parlamento elegido democráticamente para organizar la Asamblea Nacional Alemana. Como típica iglesia protestante, este templo de estilo neoclasicista, construido entre 1789 y 1833, presenta una nave única, casi circular, concebida así para que todos escuchasen por igual al pastor u orador.
