Reflexión Bíblica (25): Ellos también van al polvo.

Uno de los datos más interesantes que podemos encontrar en la Biblia es la condición espiritual de cada rey de Israel y Judá. Todas son un espejo de la caída del hombre y de su redención hacia Dios, de las consecuencias del pecado y de la rebelión contra el Altísimo. Todas nos llevan a conocer sobre la monarquía israelí y lo que ellos hacían para agradar o enfadar a Dios.

Yo quiero detenerme en algo que hizo Joacaz, uno de los últimos reyes israelitas antes de que Nabucodonosor invadiera la tierra. Leamos lo que nos deja escrito el Señor en 2 Crónicas 34:4

"Y derribaron delante de él los altares de los baales, e hizo pedazos las imágenes del sol, que estaban puestas encima; despedazó también los imágenes de Asera, y las esculturas y estatuas fundidas, y las desmenuzó, y esparció el polvo sobre los sepulcros de los que les habían ofrecido sacrificio."

En este punto me llama la atención algo súper importante y es que sobre el cadáver de los que adoraron ídolos e imágenes de fundición también fueron echadas las cenizas de estas estatuillas.

Y es que los ídolos son perecederos, no son infinitos y eternos como Dios. Son tan poco perdurables como nosotros, que no sabemos ni el día ni la hora en que vendrán por nuestra alma.

Una de las características de una persona idólatra es que se engaña a sí misma y suele creer que su ídolo durará toda la vida. Si adora a una persona probablemente pensará que ésta no envejecerá o enfermará y las imágenes pueden ayudar en eso. Toda fotografía o retrato pintado polariza el rostro de alguien, hecho que colabora a que la persona siga pensando en que el ídolo se mantendrá así siempre.

Y la verdad es que si se adora al hombre éste va a fallecer. María, la madre de Jesús, quien ha sido adorada por siglos también envejeció. El rostro con que suelen representarla es una interpretación y está alejada de la realidad. En el contexto del versículo, los baales eran producto de la imaginación humana pero también con forma de hombre.

El que adora a dioses ajenos perecerá juntamente con ellos porque hasta el momento no hay ningún otro dios (ni egipcio, ni romano, ni caldeo, ni primitivo) cuyo nombre se haya expandido en toda la tierra como ha sido y seguirá siendo el de Jesucristo.

Amado leyente, hoy te aviso a revisar tu vida y a considerar a quién estás adorando. Recuerda que en sólo uno hay salvación y su nombre es Jesús. Él fue quien murió por nosotros en la cruz, se entregó a sí mismo para el perdón de nuestros pecados y resucitó al tercer día. Dejemos de buscar intermediarios o falsos dioses, el único que puede salvarnos y que ha perdurado hasta el día de hoy se llama Jesús, del cual está escrito:

para que en el nombre de Jesús se doble toda rodilla de los que están en los cielos, y en la tierra, y debajo de la tierra; y toda lengua confiese que Jesucristo es el Señor, para gloria de Dios Padre. – Filipenses 2:10-11

Saw idol!Kaiba on my dash recently, so I needed to share this.
