During week two tutorials were cancelled for an excursion to Melbourne Art Book Fair at the NGV. It was an opportunity to meet successful local publishers, designers and artists. However due to training commitments, I was unable to attend the excursion. So I decided to post about how design is having an impact on my other interest, volleyball, as an alternative. 

In 2018 the FIVB paired with global brand strategy and design firm Landor to launch the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), formerly Volleyball World League. Landor, in collaboration with leading motion design firm ManvsMachine, developed a new visual identity and brand for the international volleyball competition. 

The new visual identity was set to be engaging and dynamic, and “revolutionise the fan experience”. Landor’s intention and design thinking for the new visual identity was to “[create] a brand that completely embodies the sport—a brand made of volleyball.” The new identity and graphic system designed for VNL were inspired by the court’s vibrant colours and iconic grid lines. The unique logotype and typography Landor created challenged design conventions, using motion capture technology that tracked the trajectory of the ball passing from player to player to form the shape of each letterform.

In my opinion, the new identity and graphic system was a much needed change for the sport in order to help market it, and aid its growth internationally. The new identity and brand is far more dynamic, communicated effectively through the use of line and shape in the typography, and vibrant colours. The increased visual appeal will hopefully enable the sport to become more accessible and engaging to both new and existing fans and players.

Volvo VNL 670 v1.6

This Volvo VNL 670 is a really nice truck. With this truck you get 1 Cab, 1 Chassis, 4 Engines, 2 Transmissions, 1 Interior, Some light, tire’s and rims. Plus you get the standard paint as well as one extra skin. I drove this truck across North Africa and in to France and Spain. I had a real blast driving this truck. I have driven the big sister to this truck, the VNL 780. There really is not much of a deference between the 2. But in any case they are really nice trucks. To tell you the truth, I could not find any faults with this truck. It is just a real nice rig to drive. But then again I still had a little trouble with Texture’s. So any one that is using an older system, may have the same problem.

So I will highly recommend this truck to any one that wants to use it.

In this new version:

New accessories: sunshields, highpipes, front grill hook points for lights, lights and even more lights (also available for side stripes), airhoses (also with lights :D),

A little bit lifted chasis (car had problems with higher bumps on roads – now should drive-through slightly better),

Bottom grill no. 3 got new visible pipe in front,

Fixed axis for hang toy in external view,

A lot of small corrections in meshes, objects – simply I don’t remember those ?
