My favorite part of driving at night is when it's 40 degrees outside and 70 degrees inside and my mom says it's too hot and my dad says it's too cold so they argue back snd forth until my mom turns the AC on full blast causing every window to fog up at the same time and now I can't see and my dad is yelling from the back seat to turn on the defroster but I can't take my eyes off the road and my mom is just sitting there instead of turning off the AC or turning on the defroster so I open my window but it doesn't change anything except now the wind is drowning out my dad as he yells at me to grab his extra sweater off the floor and use it to wipe the fog off the windshield but I STILL can't take my eyes off the road because we're doing 80 on the pitch black interstate and I can barely see the reflective bumps between the lanes let alone the lanes themselves and neither of my parents are actually helping the situation until the car in front of me slams on their brakes and I yell at my mom to turn off the AC before we all die. Really puts me in the Christmas mood.

I-75 in Florida passes through DeSoto county extremely briefly before passing into Charlotte County - driving the speed limit of 70, drivers pass them both within 5 seconds. On the northbound side, where the highway passes through DeSoto county and then into Sarasota county, it is about 8 seconds of driving.

The DeSoto county signs were knocked down by Hurricane Ian and have since not been replaced.

there's that one meme post that describes the feeling of parting ways with a car you've been traveling on the interstate with for a while as if it were like losing a friend, and i never really got that. for me, every time i notice i am going in the same direction for some time as another car, i instantly make it a competition of who can go faster/who can be in front of the other. who are they to think that their metal beast can best mine? we shall duel to see who can control their death machine better and get to their destination that much quicker. i will not let get ahead, i will be the one to find the fastest route and weave between the other moving monsters to get ahead. you will not win against me and we are enemies until you exit....
