Fandom, Creation and Me
With it being NaNo tomorrow I am doing update posts, and planning posts, and basically sorting everything out. It's also something I do at the end of/start of every year. It's part cleaning house, part goal setting.
This has been a funny year with moving house dominating all of it. I was just going to update my art goals, only to discover I didn't make my customary end of December post because that was during the madness. Then I remembered I didn't think I updated here either. I checked the archive and I did say I'd finally moved on September 13th but as to my fandom plans not a whisper. So I'm going to talk about it now!
Mid-April I made a post in which I said:
SO! My mission, should I choose to accept it bwahaha is to write EVERY SINGLE fanfic idea on my list (that I still want to write when I get to it) before the end of the year. Deadline December 31st. After that the slate is wiped clean.
This started to go off the rails when I stopped writing in the summer. Some people write more when they are stressed as an escape. I wish I could say I was one of them but alas I unfortunately do my best turtle impression instead and basically very little gets done.
When I moved into my house that was a fresh start in the biggest way possible. I want - no I need - to make the most of that. I had to think about what serves me, and ultimately I decided to make my clean break then. So yeah, no more fanfic from me.
I have a few WIPs on my HD but thankfully due to my policy these days of not posting until stories are complete, that doesn't matter. I do feel... I wanted those ideas to be brought to life as I do like them, but I had to make a choice about what was best for me, and wistful thoughts about what could have been aren't going to change my mind.
So am I quitting fandom?
No.
I'm still co-mod of Saffi Prompts and I intend to help with that if it comes out of hiatus. I'm still running Saffi Bingo, in as much as I sent out the cards months ago but nothing seems to have happened. I'm helping put together the 13th anniversary event for Bering and Wells next April.
I also just signed up for a Leverage Bingo Card because you see while my fanfic days are over, my fanart days are not.
I want to get into art in a big, big way. I feel like fanfic helped me a lot with my writing journey. Fanfic helped me see projects through from beginning to end, helped me produce on a schedule, helped me keep up the practice when my mental health wouldn't permit me to write other things. I owe fanfic a lot. It's my hope that fanart might fulfil the same function in terms of getting me started.
Now I know I've promised I would do art in the past and then haven't done it. For years I have made it a goal to do 1 piece a month and I've never got close. I think the best I ever did was at the start of 2021 when I think I made it to April before I stopped.
That was before though, and the start of my writing journey was a similar tale. I went through a time when I wrote once a year - for NaNo - and didn't write at all the rest of the time. It's unthinkable now but that's how it was. So just because I didn't draw on the regular in the past, despite saying I would, doesn't mean I will always fail at that.
TLDR
No more fanfic from me. Expect fanart - eventually. I want to work through some art courses I have first before I go back to trying to draw what I imagine. Hopefully this will mean when I attempt those imagined pieces they will be better, and not as cringeworthy when I look back later as to how I ever dared post them on the internet.
P.S. What about gifsets?
Nearly forgot about that. Fandom Friday will not be returning. I don't have the time. However, I'm not ruling out making sets when/if I feel inspired to do so.

NOTICE: Skyplayssplatoon...is moving?
[I Have Moved To @skyplayssplatoon3 !!]
Howdy there! Kind of a different but important post:
I don't want to get too detailed about it, but I've come to the decision that I'd like to start over on a brand new blog! The main reason being a lot of coding/tagging issues that unfortunately have come with Tumblr updates, and partially some personal issues that I'd prefer to leave behind me for Splatoon 3.
I apologize if this is a bit sudden of a post, but I have been considering it for a long time, and have decided this is what I want to do!
Rest assured, this blog is NOT being deleted! I will leave it up as an archive for all the beautiful art I've reblogged and the lovely memories!
But I will no longer be posting here, nor reblogging anything here.
I understand I will have to rebuild my followers all over again especially to get back to helping people gets some visibility, but truth be told, I assume at least 1/3 of the followers here have also been people who've long since abandoned Tumblr. I hope to rebuild a new active audience so I can share folks art around just like before, but I know it may take some time!
The new blog will basically be the same, just with a simpler, different layout that functions properly, proper tags that work, and a fresh clean slate for new posts!
If you're interested in continuing on with me for my Splatoon 3 Adventures, you can simply find me at:
@skyplayssplatoon3
Thank you for all the wonderful memories, the support of myself as well as each other, and indulging me in all my silly posts, rants and thoughts! I'm ready to lay this blog to rest and start fresh for a fresh new game! I hope you'll be able to join me!

(1) i understand how the other feel about ozpins lies but I don't thi k how they act with Oscar is awful ,I hope he snaps at them ,and stands up for ozpin an himself
(2) I was hoping that oscar would some how thanks to ozpins memories ,would bring the people in the city of mantel together to fight the grim some how get them all to atlus,
(3) I was hoping that oscar would get a episode to him self were maybe a few days go by and he on his own but v8 going to b 2 episodes even if he did get time to him self for an episode or 2 I feel like I would get to see him do as much as I'm hoping 4
(4) like ur self I'd like to see ruby reaction to him maybe being maybe gone,I'd like to see Oscar feeling on losing the lamp an letting ruby down
(5) I think oscar should get gravity dust or wind to help him keep up with the others
(6) I now we're going to see Oscar with y,j, and r but i want him to be with Weiss and Blake
Uhm…since I already gave my answers to Points 2, 3, 5 and 6 in other RWBY response posts, I’m just gonna only answer Points 1 and 4 for this one to avoid having to repeat myself XD
“…I understand how the others feel about Ozpin’s lies but I don’t think how they act with Oscar is awful. I hope he snaps at them and stands up for Ozpin and himself…”
Assuming that you meant that you think the way how the group treated Oscar back in Argus was bad and you’re hoping for him to go off on them, I don’t blame you for feeling that way anon-chan. Not to sound overdramatic or anything like that but V6CH9 is still considered my most despised episode of that season and RWBY in general and I’ll even toss in V6CH8 as well since I didn’t and still don’t like how the show basically had everyone stand idly by and allowed Jaune to walk across the room and slam Oscar into the wall.
And what was even worse is that no one dared to pull Jaune off of Oscar as he practically shook the kid while screaming accusations in his face for actions that weren’t even his. And the real kicker to me is that even when I rewatch that scene it just feels so out of character for the others to just let that happen. They all literally just stood there as Jaune wrongfully manhandled Oscar.
Sure we had Weiss attempt to stop Jaune but outside of that and Ruby barking at Jaune to back off of Oscar, nothing else was done. No one thought to step in front of Oscar and come between him and Jaune before the Arc boy could lay a finger on Oscar.
And what sucks even more is that even after watching what Jaune did to Oscar, NO ONE thought to check in on him and see if he was alright after such an ordeal. Instead Ren and Nora leave to comfort Jaune---Oscar’s accoster mind you----while the others divided to do other things. And yet one of them wasn’t making sure that Oscar was fine emotionally. Yet they all act surprise when they find him gone from the house?
Which makes the fact that all he did was leave to go shopping so utterly bad that it’s not even funny. I know it’s a meme in the Pinehead community (along with Oscar’s missing character development and the fact that he’s practically the pet gold fish of the hero team that they keep neglecting and losing each season yet he always comes back and still loves those silly bastards anyways) but I honestly hate that that’s canon. Anyways, I’m not here to rant about V6CH9. In respect to Oscar telling off the others for the way they treated him and Oz back in V6, I think it could be mighty swell for that to happen.
As a Pinehead, I am genuinely tired of this weird approach that the show has of having Oscar be perfectly complacent with everything that’s happened to him---even when he’s downright being practically abused to some degree. It’s not fun to watch as a fan of his character. Oscar has been through a lot since his introduction and outside of the dojo moment from V5 where he confessed his fears to Ruby, we haven’t really gotten any more moments of Oscar coming clean about his true feelings over his current experiences.
And NO I am not counting his speech in V6CH9 where the showrunners deadass had the audacity to have Oscar say to the hero group that he’s been contemplating about all that happened between him, Oz and the whole reveal of Ozma and the events of the Lost Fable despite never showing the audience scenes where we can see Oscar doing just that.
It is insulting at this point how poorly the CRWBY Writers have handled Oscar’s treatment in the show. While V7 was definitely an improvement (albeit except for that one episode where Double D Rivas downright forgot Oscar in the episode while all his so-called teammates and friends were up in Amity celebrating), it still doesn’t quite make up for the mistakes of V6 nor does it erase my disappointment for that volume in terms of how they handled Oscar’s side of the story.
All the more reason to hope for better things to be done for Oscar in V8. Like you, I would like to see Oscar speak up against the team and their past actions (especially with the mistakes they made with Ironwood and still have yet to take responsibility for), not necessarily in defence of himself since Oscar has been shown to be a selfless individual---always placing others before himself---but more so for Oz.
I want Oscar to be the one to mend the tethered bond within his team between the others and the other half of himself. After all, while two differing souls, Oz is still a part of Oscar especially once the Merge occurs. They may not be the same person but they are a part of each other and will come together to complete one another. Or at least complete Oscar since according to V5, Oz is the one meant to change with the Merge. Not Oscar. I mean Oscar will technically change but I’d still like to strongly believe that his soul will become the dominating personality and persona as Oz’s fades more into the background as it combines with his.
And while the other heroes may like and trust Oscar, they can’t favour only half of him. This is especially the case since Oscar and Oz are expected to become one entity at some point. So I’m hoping that before that happens, Oscar uses this time to get everyone back on the same page---burying the hatchet after all that transpired between the last two volumes and thus starting things anew with everyone having a clean slate.
This needs to be done in order for the heroes to move forward and work together since uniting against the common foe will be what helps not just them but all of humanity and Remnant. At least that’s what I assume. While I don’t necessarily need Oscar to go off on the other heroes, I would like it if it he did call them out for their past mistakes with Ironwood---mistakes that he unfortunately partook in encouraging---as well as their treatment of Oz, finally helping them to see the bigger picture and what’s more at stake. I’m honestly tired of the story having our heroes pin all the blame on Ozpin while making it appear as if RWBY were in the right despite doing the exact same thing that got Oz in trouble with them.
So for what it’s worth, I hope that’s addressed in the series and I hope it lends to Oscar aiding to patch things between the team and Oz especially now that he’s returned. The group and Oz need to reconcile and I’d like to believe that Oscar is the key to helping with that.
“…Like yourself, I’d like to see Ruby’s reaction to him maybe being gone. I’d like to see Oscar’s feelings on losing the lamp and letting Ruby down…”
Ooooh I’d love it if V8 kicks off with Ruby learning that Ironwood had ‘killed’ Oscar. That’s a scene I am literally praying would happen when the group split up and RWBN_P head up to Atlas or Amity Arena to confront Ironwood. I want Ironwood to just blurt it out like it meant nothing to him that he shot and killed a child---I want to see Ironwood basically treat Oscar as nothing more than another face for Oz---not even his own person despite promising him in the second episode of V7 that so long as Oscar was in Atlas, he would be safe.
And most of all, I want to see the reactions of everyone---Ruby and Nora especially---when Ironwood says with the straightest and most cold-hearted of expressions that he killed Oscar. If we don’t get a scene like that then not gonna lie anon-chan, I will be beyond disappointed. Because what’s the point of having Ironwood shoot Oscar to his death if it wasn’t going to be brought up at some point, ey?
Give me that angsty scene where either Ruby or Nora---most likely Nora--- get super pissed at the reveal of Oscar’s alleged death, thus sparking her to attack Ironwood and thus, a fight breaks out between RWBN_P and the Ace Ops, talks of negotiation completely out the window since Ironwood killing one of their own (Oscar) practically meant war.
I also wonder if Qrow being framed for killing Clover might also come up as well. Like imagine a scene where one of the Ace Ops accuses our heroes of treason after letting them know that Qrow was charged for Clover’s murder, much to RWBN_P’s surprise only for Ironwood to indifferently say something to the extent of the group being even in some way---Qrow allegedly killed one of his own (meaning Clover) while Ironwood killed one of theirs (meaning Oscar) and that’s how it’s revealed. Or something to that level. Who knows? All in all, I want that scene to happen and I really, really, REALLY want it to see Ruby’s response to Oscar’s alleged murder since she’s someone whose always protected him since the start. It’ll be even worse if she learns that her actions resulted in Ironwood killing Oscar for that added double whammy. That could be great storytelling and character-building-wise! Buuuuut we’ll see for next season.
As for Oscar being saddened over losing the lamp and letting Ruby down---well technically we kind of got a scene like that already last volume anon-chan. It was during the moment in the finale episode after JNPR 2.0 had managed to evade capture and were hiding away in the training room. While taking a breather, Oscar apologized for losing the lamp leading to Jaune trying to reassure him only for Ren to ruin the moment by bringing up the fact that the villains now have possession of the Lamp of Knowledge while the Staff of Creation was still in Ironwood’s grasps.
In that scene, the camera made sure to focus on Oscar’s troubled expression as Ren went on his tangent. As a matter of fact, it was Ren going off that made Oscar run off to go confront Ironwood in the first place as his way of trying to fix everything on his own.
I’m not sure if we’ll get to see Oscar apologizing to Ruby personally for losing the lamp after she entrusted him. However I think it could be a potentially cute Rosegarden moment if the first thing Oscar does when reuniting with the others is apologize to Ruby specifically for losing the lamp only for Ruby to disregard his apology completely and straight up just embrace Oscar on the spot; more relieved to discover that he was alive to even care about the relic. That’s something I’d like to see done for V8 but who knows?

As a psychic medium, I’m accustomed to dealing with entities and although there are a lot of people out there professing you can clear spirits and entities with sage and/or intent, the trust his that some things are more difficult to get rid of. Removing difficult dark entities or energy can be done by following steps I've discovered over the years based on how energy reacts and interacts. Please note that some "hauntings" are actually manifestations of psychic abilities that have not been acknowledged and controlled. If your own psychic energy is causing the activity then you’ll need to get that under control to stop the issues. For those situations please see my upcoming posts on psychic abilities. For those dealing with an actual haunting or entity attachment, these steps will clear it out of your house. Before you begin going through the steps, I recommend a mini-fasting exercise prior to the final clearing phase. It's a way to be mindful of the upcoming exercise. You may choose to give up chocolate for a day. You might opt to skip a meal. Maybe you avoid caffeine or alcohol for some time period leading up to your clearing. Remember that you need your energy for the decluttering and cleaning part, so don't do a full day fast before a big cleaning day. Use good judgement.
Read through all of the steps before beginning. A supply list is at the bottom of the instructions.
Step 1: Clear your home of clutter. When negative energy is stuck in our homes, that "stuck" feeling that's vibrating throughout may emerge as some tendencies toward hoarding. Clear out the clutter. You have more than you think you do. As you let go of things, pick them up with a feeling of gratitude. In your heart you can be thankful for what that item contributed and release it from your life. Send it away with a joyful heart in hopes that it might inspire joy elsewhere. If it's an item that has a very negative feeling attached to it, it's a good idea to dispose of it instead of donating.
Step 2: Joyfully clean your house. You have just done a great job clearing out clutter and now it's time to get dust, dirt, and grime out of your life. While cleaning with a smile on your face may not be your modus operandi, in this case it's important. Take a moment to appreciate the things you are cleaning. You're cleaning them because they are important to you. They either serve a function and purpose in your life, of they bring you joy. Treat them as such. You are clearing away negativing, and part of the process is learning to express positivity.
Step 3: Clean your body. Take time after decluttering, cleaning, and hopefully mini-fasting to take a shower or a nice bath. There's a visualization practice I recommend during your bath. If you're from a religious affiliation that practices baptism, you can visualize it as a baptism. I generally visualize the water washing over my body's energy field (biofield or aura), washing away any residual negativity that may be sticking around.
Step 4: Prepare your supplies. You can opt to use only white sage in your clearing (directions for use below), but I'm providing you details for an expanded tool kit for clearing. There are four commonly recognized spiritual elements (Earth, Air, Water, and Fire) that are most frequently recognized today within the new age spiritual movement. In reality, these elements were acknowledged in early Christianity as well and were notably mentioned by St. Francis of Assisi, and by earlier religions all over the world. Sage and Palo Santo Wood represent two of those components (fire and air- smoke). For a bundle of sage, you light the end, let it burn for 10-12 seconds, and then blow it out. It will smoke for quite a while after you blow it out. Palo Santo is a piece of wood. It's commonly referred to as holy wood. That you light at one end (like with the sage) but you let it burn for one minute before blowing it out. In either case, there is a cleansing smoke that is released from the embers of the dried leaf or wood. I use a feather to fan the smoke into corners and tight spaces and feathers also represent air. I also use either holy water or fresh water (rain, river, stream) and I use natural sea salt (no iodine added) for earth. I gather the materials and pray for help and guidance in clearing away the negativity and any spirits or non-corporeal entities that may be present. If prayer isn't something you're comfortable with, you can simply visualize filling each of the instruments in front of you with loving white light. If you don't know what to say for the prayer, I recommend something along these lines. "God, you know the torment we each face in our lives. Today I humbly ask for your help to purify my home. I wish for only love and light to linger in these rooms. Please send your guardian angels to protect me as I work to cast out anything unholy. Please bless this sage and this Palo Santo wood as it burns. Please allow the smoke to purify our home. Please bless this water sent from heaven and use it to wash away the stains of darkness. Please bless this salt from our blessed planet Earth and use it to ground and purify me, my family, and all that pass through these doors in our faith and belief in your power. Please bless my feet, that they will know where to go. Bless my heart, that it will know what is true. Bless my hands that they be used to do your will. Bless my throat that I know what to say. Bless my eyes that they may appreciate all that you have created. Bless my mind that I may trust in you. Thank you for you love and guidance. Amen."
Step 5: Plan your path. Start by opening your windows. If you have an older home with windows painted shut, you can open the doors instead. We're going to go room by room smoking out the dark energy, so take your time and be thorough. You want to always allow the energy or entity a way out. I'll address what to do if you accidentally smoke it into a corner later. If your home is one single story, start just to the left of your front door and work counterclockwise through your home. If it is multi-story do below ground (basement) first, then work from the highest floor down toward the front door. For each room you will move counterclockwise through the room and you will use the feather to fan smoke into every single corner and crevice. Open every closet, every drawer, every cabinet. Dark energy and entities are repulsed by the smell and the smoke. You've put a lot of work into this so far, so don't cut corners. The next few steps will be completed in each room as you move through your home.
Step 6: Sage your rooms. As you move through your home, use the feather or your breath to move smoke from the white sage into each corner. If you have particularly difficult to clear out stuck energy you can use sound to help you. Play inspiring music as you sage or ring a bell or clap in areas where energy gets stuck. Energy gets stuck in closets, corners, and under beds. Anyplace with very little movement is going to tend to get stuck energy. So, sage (counterclockwise starting to the left of the door) throughout the room finishing at the door. This will move any entity or negative energy out of the room. You have just cleared the room with fire and air.
Step 7: Bless or anoint your room with holy water. Add your sea salt to the rainwater (both of which have been blessed by your prayer or your intent). Dip your fingers into the now salty rainwater and flick it into each corner of the room. If you would like, you can also draw a cross on your door or over your doorway. You have just blessed the room with water and earth.
Step 8: Fill your room with love. You've just removed clutter, cleaned, cleared, and blessed your room. Now as you walk out of the room, turn back to it, smile, and imagine refilling that room with love. Imagine the joy that will take place there. You are mentally establishing and evoking something very special. Either out loud or in your mind, give thanks for all the help you received in making that room safe.
Step 9: Repeat steps 6-8 in each room of the house (including closets), as well as the garage and the attic if feasible. In the event you feel you have missed a spot and now you've saged all the rooms that's ok. Use your hands to draw an imaginary window in the air. In your mind, open that window and allow any remaining energy an opportunity to leave. Chances are, this is completely unnecessary, but I've found that some people prefer to cover it just in case.
Step 10: Use Palo Santo to put an added shield around your home. Now you've cleared out the negative energy and entities. Your home is a clean slate. Using Palo Santo raises the vibration to a light happy place. Palo Santo also acts as a shield or cloak. Once the entities are out of the house, the Sage makes it where they will not want to come back in. Palo Santo makes it so that it's hard for them to even FIND you.
Now that you've cleared out the negative energy, it's important to keep it out and to address any personal trauma that may attract dark entities and to put a protective shield around your home. You can design, program, and activate your own crystal grid or I will be glad to design one for you. Visit www.YourSilverPsychic.com for more advice or to order a protection grid or clearing supplies for your home (coming soon), to schedule a reading, or get free tips (see my website blog).
Supplies: Large bundle of white sage, 1 stick of palo santo wood, about 1 cup of rainwater or creek/river water, about 1 teaspoon of sea salt (natural/not iodized), and 1 large feather (optional)

Hello Michelle! What are some tips/tricks that you have to stay/get motivated? I've seen so many blogs that say "being motivated is super important to getting started!!1!1" with a ton of smily faces, and no clue of how to get motivated. I've tried so many times to just start doing [insert task here], but I also get distracted by so many things (even if I'm not procrastinating). How do you get motivated and stay focused?
Hey anon, I totally get your struggle. Getting motivated is a tough thing to do, especially if it’s for something you’re not especially a big fan of.
First: Realize that a huge factor of being motivated is having discipline. If you are motivated to start, then you must have the discipline to pull through and see it until the end. I come from a pretty strict family, who taught me that the rewards of doing something will often far outweigh the trials; in essence, they taught me to prioritze and practice discipline to see things through to the end of things before reaping rewards. So if you start learning a language per se, then pull through and practice it!
Secondly; starting is often the hardest part. My biggest obstacle is probably myself-I often overthink and build up this huge imaginary obstacle course that stops me from starting something that I would really like to just get out of the way. Honestly, to overcome that, I use a pros and cons list, spanning long term and short term effects of starting this one Thing. This forces my brain to see logic. Always know why you’re doing a certain thing. Never do things thoughtlessly and always make sure (this might sound a bit selfish) that whatever you are doing or about to do benefits you in some way.
Third: set goals. This is a huge thing for me! I set tons of goals for myself, even if it’s small things like “finish chapters 4-10 today” to big things like “achieve a certain GPA so that you can see the means to an end to something”. Make a graphic, if it helps. To-do lists, anything that helps you with seeing a visual representation of goals.
Fourth: If you’re getting distracted easily, it just means your mind isn’t fully immersed in the subject of what you’re doing. The first couple of things are as follows to focusing and getting less distracted: meditate, create a pattern, create a dead zone, and stop complaining.
Meditating: just breathe. There’s a practice called zazen in buddhism and I use it all the time. Sit facing a blank wall and become a spectator to your own thoughts. The goal is to let all your thoughts and worries pass over you without engaging with them. Let them run a full course in your mind because they’re like kids; they’ll tire themselves out after a while. This helps clear your mind and make it a blank slate for what’s coming.
Create a pattern: whether that means listening to the same playlist or chewing the same flavor of gum when you’re doing x activity, create a pattern that will make your brain acknowledge that when the pattern sets in, it’s time for that Activity. In a way, you’re sort of training yourself a la style Pavlov.
The Dead Zone: turn off your phone! Turn off electronics that aren’t necessary! Clean up your workspace! If you’re one of those people who are paranoid about seeing notifications on your lockscreen pour in when you unlock, just mute the notifications. It’s really soothing too, to be apart from the hectic pattern that involves being part of twenty group chats or keeping up with social media. Take a break! And when you enter your workspace, it becomes the dead zone; no notifications, no distractions.
Stop complaining! I complain a lot. Mainly to myself, mainly saying what i could be doing, what better things I could be using this time for. I grouse and I moan and I frown. Yeah but just-kick yourself in the butt and get yourself moving! Take a walk to clear your mind a bit if you can’t break out of these thought patterns. Face your tasks with a fresh mind. Be optimistic!
Bonus: try and make maps for goals or reasons for doing certain things. I have one in one of my notebooks and it’s like: achieve x GPA to stand out among peers—> get into a good post secondary ed. place –>med school […] why? because I want to make myself proud, support my family, prove to myself that it is possible for me to do certain things. Why is doing that thing so important to you? Identify that reason-whether volunteering makes you feel warm and floaty on the inside, telling jokes makes you feel happy, or more complicated things like reaching a certain level of achievement in something.
I hope I’ve answered all the aspects to this ask!! If I haven’t, send me a lil something asking me to elaborate! I love giving tips and talking to you guys, so don’t be afraid to reach out!
