3. Favorite three Steddie fanfics?

oh man okay this is SUCH a hard question because obviously there are SO MANY MORE than just 3 that i would consider favorites!!! which is why i have to cheat and list more than 3 sklgjds. i tried to narrow it down, i really really did but. i am horrible at decisions so 5 favorites you will get instead slkdjdsl

let it roll into the night by @toburnup (aka adure on ao3) this one is very special to me bc vio wrote it for me and i love them very very much for that, but also it's just an absolutely incredible fic and it is filled with SO much yearning, like it made me ache so bad (in the best way possible) and i just really really loved it. (i also love literally anything they write so. if you have not PLEASE go check out their fics!!!)

eddie's spectacular, awkward, very safe, very fun first time by @alligator-writes this is pretty much exactly what it says in the title lol and it is quite literally one of my absolute all time favorite headcanons come to life. and the second i read this fic- no the second i saw this fic, i was sold and obsessed already. ria TRULY never misses, ever, and i highly hiiiiiighly recommend literally anything she writes also!!!

the most remarkable thing about you standing in the doorway is that it's you by greatunironic i am sure you must have heard about this fic, everybody has heard about this fic. but there's a reason for that!! it is SO good and SO emotional and just SOOOO. there's just something about those coming back together later in life fics that really fucking hits, and this one hits HARD. plus i love all the little like interview snippets and transcripts that are sprinkled throughout, that's such a fun extra flavor to the fic and the format and i love that!

doing nothing with you by @red-0ak-tree i love love LOVE this fic so so SO much omg. i always love fics that have steve and robin getting out of hawkins and moving in together, and this one has the excellent wonderful fantastic bonus of eddie practically, unofficially moving in too (and also nancy!!). it's so charming and sweet and emotional and the slow burn is soooo good and there's just so so much to love about this one!!

stuck in indianapolis (feeling not so alone) by @oatflatwhite (aka iphigenias on ao3) this is another one that i truly adore so very much!! another delicious slow burn, another moving out of hawkins, another unofficial move in until it is official!! the writing is incredible, the characterization is incredible, the dynamic built up is incredible!! i cannot recommend this one enough!!

9. Do you imagine they would have been childhood friends?

i think that if the circumstances of their childhoods had been different and if they'd had the opportunity to meet as kids, yes, i think they could have been childhood friends. it's clear that they are very different people who come from very different backgrounds, but that doesn't stop them from getting along so well now. they just mesh so well together. there's something about them that just fits. and i think had they been able to nurture that from the start there could've been an even stronger bond between them (which is saying something because the bond they do have is a ridiculously strong one already).

11. Which one would confess their attraction/love first? Why?

ooh okay love this one!!

when it come to confessing their attraction first, i think it would be steve. i think eddie would probably realize his own attraction first, but i don't think he would do or say anything about it because 1. he thinks steve is straight 2. he doesn't want to make steve uncomfortable 3. he doesn't want to ruin their friendship because like. steve is one of the closest friends he's ever had, and they're so comfortable with each other and there's so much love there (even if it isn't the same kind eddie wishes it were). he wouldn't want to jeopardize that. and even if eddie started to pick up on steve's mutual attraction, i think he would still hold back on his own, because this is still so new for steve, and eddie doesn't want to scare him off, or acknowledge something that maybe steve himself isn't ready to acknowlede, and he also eddie doesn't want to just be some experiment. it means too much to him. so he waits. he leaves the ball in steve's court. which means that steve is the one who has to make the first move. steve is the one who kisses eddie first. steve is the one who tells eddie, scared out of his mind but still pushing that back to be brave, that he likes him, that he really likes him.

when it comes to confessing their love first, i think that would fall to eddie. we allllll know steve's experience with love. nancy wheeler was the last romantic partner that he said confessed his love to, and that was all bullshit. so, i think steve would be ready to say it first (he usually is, in any relationship he has, though i do think nancy was probably the first one he actually meant it with) but he would be so god damn scared. he would be terrified. so he would swallow it down. he would keep it locked up. he wouldn't say it because the last time he did everything crumbled around him. and he doesn't want that. not again. not with eddie. so he bites his tongue and he doesn't say it even though every cell inside his body is screaming it. (even though he says it perfectly clearly in every action anyways). so that means that eddie is the one to say it first. eddie is the one to turn to steve, to grasp his face, to look him in the eye and say "steve, i- i love you". and when it happens steve is both over the goddamn moon about it. and there's still a teeny tiny part of him that is scared, that thinks the rug could be pulled out from beneath his feet at any second. but then he looks into eddie's eyes, and he can see that he means it. and he trusts eddie, too. he knows that eddie chooses his words carefully when he wants to, that he doesn't say things that he doesn't mean. and he means this. steve can tell.

Inevitable Homoeroticism in Spanish Romantic Heroes by prosopopeya - (i’ve actually read this one before!!!! it’s so much fun) Dean is a grad student studying for his MA in Spanish literature, and he’s pretty content with his sexuality as it is -- that is, fairly undefined and also secret. His attraction to Castiel, a professor to the undergrads, doesn't seem like a big deal until it becomes a very big deal, and Dean scrambles to keep his head above water.

I thought Puck would be really annoying when I saw pictures of them but I actually really like them so far. (sure hope nothing terrible happens to them)

Also also; if anyone is unaware, Shounen Jump Plus is FREE to read online and on the app, so you can read brand new manga updates as they're published (unlike Shounen Jump which I think is $1 a week?)

Anyway, I've been Reading "Monster #8" and I HIIIIIIGHLY recommend it. IT'S SO GOOD.

I will talk about it in a new post since I just painted my nails and don't want to smudge them but it's good and you should read it.

Hello Faiza!! So I’ve been seeing a lot of gifs and whatnot about the drama Word of Honor, and I’m wondering whether or not you’d recommend it. Seems like an Untamed situation with the whole implied romance to get past the censorship, but correct me if I’m wrong. If you don’t mind sharing your thoughts and opinions thus far, I would love to hear them! Thank you 🧡

hiii anon!!! aaaaaah word of honor!!!!! word of honor is a delight. word of honor is a wuxia (based on historical chinese martial arts) rather than a xianxia (based on historical chinese mythology) which is what the untamed was, so its different in that sense. but yes, you can call it "implied" romance, though i'm .... i wouldn't even call it implied, because its ... so so so heavily prominent and explicit- there's a Whole Scene where kexing cuts zishu's sleeve after joking with him that he's a virgin - it doesn't get more explicit than that. gong jun (who plays kexing) and zhang zhehan (who plays zishu) truly have Amazing Chemistry between them. the way gong jun portrays kexing's Total Interest in zishu and how Whipped he is for him is ... its Delightful to see. there's so much emphasis on close proximity and hands and soulmates .... its ... impeccable.

i love it. i love it immensely - dare i say, even more than the untamed. the plot and premise is a little bit more complicated to get to grips with than the untamed at the start, but by ep 6/7 you understand the bigger picture. but hey, i like complicated and i love wracking my brain to figure out things, so maybe thats just my personal preference. the pacing is spot on too. where i personally felt the untamed never got started until ep 11, word of honor's pacing is quick yet breathable. compared to the untamed's 50 eps, word of honor is only 36 eps long, so its not too long either - currently, we're on ep 9 that will get subbed and come out today!

i don't wanna give anything away, but the characters are truly phenomenal. very 3D, morally gray/ambiguous and well fleshed out and well rounded. the women on the show kick ass. the romance is beautiful and kexing is a Lovestruck Fool In Love with zishu. the costumes are simple yet elegant and bold. the shots and the fight scenes will remind you a lot of the untamed, yes, but the major difference i feel is that, word of honor's fight scenes are a lot lot more focused on the martial arts side, bc its a wuxia, so its all pretty fast feet and hands - and one lethal fan 🤫😉, though yes, there is a lot of sword fighting in word of honor too!

and there's a found family trope, just like how the untamed had one, so i guess that's a similarity too!

but yeah, i would highly hiiiiiighly recommend it. i'm thoroughly enjoying it so far!! you can watch it here!!

not 1D related, but would you mind sharing why you choose to be a vegetarian? and maybe if you wanna share ethical or health reasons for so, i would love to hear. i’ve been having lots of thoughts lately about going vegetarian/vegan

I’d *love* to. In high school, my best friend became vegetarian during our sophomore year. I really never thought I would become one as I was a big meat eater. But something always bothered me: I couldn’t really justify it to myself with any solid argument - all I could think was “I like it”. Flash forward to 2017 I watched “What the Health” on Netflix and went veggie cold turkey. The doc is about the effects of animal products on health. Both sides of my family have heart issues and I’m convinced it is not genetic, it is the really bad eating habits. I ain’t dying at 50 from a heart attack. So yeah that was kind of the initial motivation. I hiiiiiighly recommend the doc (I made everyone I know watch it). As time passed, my motivations changed a little bit. I am now much more aware on how bad eating meat is for the planet. It uses soooo much water and field space and is just not a viable food source. But most of all, now I can not fathom the idea of murdering animals for me to eat. It is so so cruel and senseless. I know we were all conditioned to barely acknowledge that they are living breathing beings but they really are. They are so much closer to us than people admit. Pigs grieve deeply when their babies are taken from them. Cows have best friends and are basically big dogs. Even the ones that are harder to relate (like fish) are still just as entitled to live their lives in peace. I feel very strongly about this. If we can feed ourselves any other way that does not involve murdering innocent beings, why wouldn’t we?

I'm really tempted to post something about a really major ASOIAF exclusive Daenerys theory — more specifically about the birth of dragons — that I've had for a really long time now inspired by ideasoficeandfire's videos ( whom I hiiiiiighly recommend watching if you're into the books and long podcasts about things beyond the main storyline and REALLY awesome pre-ASOIAF content!! ) but I don't wanna sound like I'm crazy or anything... Do you like AFI? I’ve been wondering if I should get into them but I don’t know many people who listen to them. What do you think of their music?

first off:-HELL YEAHbackstory: i love afi and they were the first band i ever really got into as a literal child (…i was seven & playing ‘Miss Murder’ on wii rockband, but that’s besides the point) and i would Hiiiiiighly recommend giving them a shot!they’re all really standup guys (first example i can think of: lead singer (davey havok) is strongly straightedge (holla) as well as vegan, has been super vocal about his morals since pretty much forever, they all support everything LGBT, are Very anti-Trump etc) and their music is Insanely good. like…Oh Yeah Babey 😩🔥💕as for the music: they’ve been around for a long-ass time (very early 90s) and have definitely covered an exhaustive list of genres over the years (punk, emo, rock/alternative…) so there’s guaranteed to be something youll like in there! bomb lyrics, cool riffs, great interviews, davey’s outfits through the eras…. wow. the whole band is really talented and they’re just. really good people and although they may not be extremely popular on here, i seriously can’t recommend them enough.tl;dr PLEASE listen to my boys lol
