More unfinisjed sketches because I really dont have the energy to do lineart. Might try and find a loop for that later by *only* drawing lineart with the next things I do. Idk

These are the modern AU concepts, I just kinda sketched things out idk.

Heres some things I should clairify:

- Envy and Sloth (didnt draw sloth) are the eldest out of those that go to school; Pride, Nina, and Elicia are the youngests.

- Canon ages dont apply here for the most part, due to this being an AU, so their ages may be different than what is typically set in canon. (In most my AUs or whatnot, I make Ed 12-13 for example. But in this AU hes 14, still a few months older than Ling.)

- Greed and Ling are twins because I thought I would be a funny concept, I believe I first saw this concept in a fanfic on ao3; I dont remember the exact fanfic if there was one.

- Not all the "homunculis" (they arent that in the au obv) are related. The tattoos are more like a group symbol for them and their group of buddies basically. But, that being said, most of them are related. Also, for this au, I will not being doing shipping of any of the homunculis just because they arent related in this AU. Thats weird as hell, because theyre canonically related and im not creating loop holes for this AU to ship siblings and/or cousins (so that means no shipping them with Ed or Al as well even though they arent related in this AU.)

- Ira/Wrath from the 2003 anime is here bc they dont get enough love.

- I'm mixing elements from the manga, brotherhood anime, and the 2003 anime all together to get this shit storm so this'll be fun.

- Maybe Hughes dies in this au idk yet.

- Everyone who either ends up with a physical disability or had one at one point in the animes/manga will have those disabilities. (E.g. Roy is fully blind, he cant see light or dark; Its just nothingness. Havoc is paralyzed from the legs down. Ed , Paninya, Wrath (if I say wrath I mean 2003 wrath), and Den (the dog) all have prosthetics, the prosthetics look all the same or similar in the sketch but when I work on ref pics they will be different. Like how Paninya is wearing running prosthetics in the pic. Al has chronic pains and needs to use crutches or a cane to properly get around with the least amount of pain (just like me frfr), hes also malnurished to an extreme. And probably some other things, idk yet these are just the first ideas.

- Roy and Riza are Ed, Al, and Wrath's adoptive parents; The reasoning behind this would be because of Izumi and Sig's scary rep they'd probably not be able to adopt them, as well as Izumi's temper. That being said, I love Izumi and Sig so they're more of tutors or aunt and uncle to the elric siblings. I also just like the parental roy and riza thing to Ed and Al, so this is part of that.

- Ed is trans ftm, btw. I love the hc of that and im trans too so maybe im just projecting. I'll discuss sexualities and gender identies for each character with the ref pics, this is what I got for now.

- Ed and Al have a locket (supposed to be like the watch in the show but Al has one.) With a picture of their mother, but Al has a pic of Trisha and Hoenhiem on either side of the locket; Whereas Ed has only one side with Trisha and the other is the carved out "Dont forget Oct 7th xx"

Finale commentary under the cut

So I wanted to kind of liveblog as I was watching but held back so these are my remembered reactions/second watch reactions

Bummed there was no song recap but quickly figured itd play at the end

PUPPY. Best part of the ep, lbr, Dean was so cute with him

Theyre really doing a cheesey life montage huh - still not clear whether monsters are a thing in this new world?

I was watching the mins tick by during this first montage like OKAY we get it, cheesey happy home life, move along. There was only 40 mins left of the whole show like get on with it, it went way too long

We definately needed to restablished that Sam is neat while Dean is messy. Totally necessary to spend time on that. Also didnt Dean get houseproud when they moved into the bunker?? What happened to that?

Then becomes apparent that hunting is still a thing. Which if so what was the point of showing then doing fucking laundry and dishes while “Ordinary life” plays - if its not just an ordinary life?

At this point i thought it might go the route of them being listless without hunting as a job but then murder scene so I guess not

This whole pie sequence is stupid and a waste of time, we all know it

Dean being a cold, heartless bitch about everyone being dead. Aces. Not unexpected but still just great. How dare you be so happy about pie fuck you dude.

I started skipping through during the murder scene. I was bored. Like, I dont care about tension building to the murder of a family we dont fucking know. Ive always skipped these scenes, what is the damn point. Its not scary or interesting.

Same old FBI bullshit. Nice to see the journal again I guess. But like, this is STILL what we’re doing? In the very last ep? Same old, different day, just like 15 years ago. Really?

I skipped through the interrogation too. I dont find the scary brother act cool or entertaining

15 mins in and nothing has happened

Theyre trying so hard to give Dean jokes and nothing is landing, its so cringe just stop

The way the little clown faces pop up - if that supposed to be scary? Really? Its all just so silly rn

Watching it again I realise just how easy this hunt is. The answer is in the journal. They find the exact family. They find the exact barn. The kids are just stood in a cupboard. This is what takes Dean out, really? Its not even a normal hunt, its a way too fucking easy one.

I do not remember this chick or what ep she was in, maybe theres some parallell or foreshadowing by bringing her back but if there is I dont get it

Bottom line if youre gonna bring people back WHY THE FUCK THIS RANDOM GIRL

I knew so fast he was gonna go out like that. Hanging from a fucking nail

I kept saying out loud not like this, no way, this is so stupid, its so stupid omg

I paused and tried to talk myself into putting aside how stupid and awkward it was for him to be doing this scene hanging off a pole and just try to invest in the emotion of the speech. Which I achieved at times

but why was is so awkward tho?? Just the way hes stood pressed against it is fucking weird. Also 1000% Sam couldve gotten help and he wouldve been FINE. It took so long for them to talk, an ambulance couldve been there before they were done, there was no need for this

Okay the speech did make me cry once I pep talked myself into being invested. The reference to being scared Sam would reject him, the I love you so much, Sam saying dont leave me, the stay with me and tell me its okay - all those moments got me and I did cry. I appreciated the family business line. I liked Jensen telling Jared he always keeps fighting, that was a nice reference.

BUT there were also those moments that made me scoff, roll my eyes or laugh. The whole “always you and me” bullshit especially. The second I knew he was going to say I’ll be in your heart I yelled at them to no do it, I hate that cheesey move, then literally was like “oh my god, he did it”. It WAS NOT always going to end like this - so much of the last 15 years was proving him wrong about that. This is all just so wrong, it is not good.

Jensen and Jared did a good job with what they were given in this scene but my god

The audacity of the Cas erasure- always you and me. FUCK YOU.

I laughed out loud when his last shot was a One Perfect Tear. I was literally like “Oh wow they did that”

DEAN DESERVED A BETTER DEATH

It also kinda loses all impact when you see him like 2 mins later

I know people are upset Cas is back working in heaven but I dont think its anything like before. It sounds like he helped fixed things then got his own heaven. Also he’s God’s Dad, hes not serving God, hes teaching him. I know human Cas done right is what we wanted but I dont hate this for him. BUT WE SHOULD HAVE FUCKING SEEN IT.

Why is a memory of being a kid with his Dad what Dean is reminiscing on. They have literally reverted him back to s1. There are so many memories dean should be thinking about in fucking heaven

Okay so they skip over how Sam went from going on a hunt to walking with a toddler. OMG how unsubtle that they have literally just labelled the child Dean in big yellow letters. I couldnt help but laugh, how fucking stupid.

I did get a bit teary when the music started I’ll be honest. But mostly through the whole montage (ANOTHER ONE) I was saying to myself This is so fucking stupid. omg this is dumb, what the fuck is this, so stupid.

They literally did a montage so long they had to play the song twice. Im just done at this point wow.

The old man make up is so bad I just laughed. The only pictures being of the 4 of them, reinforcing the Winchester only bullshit, great. Not even pics of this new random family Sam’s got. The painfully cliche Dad moments for Sam, again so bad its funny. Omg the hand on the head of this random kid, this is so ridiculous. Old man sam in his bad wig trying so hard to move like hes old and crying in the impala. Wtf is happening, this is SO STUPID

I thought theyd cast a more attractive son I’ll be honest. So he has the tattoo - are they a hunting family? Because that would go against both s1 Sam they’ve tried to go back to and the s15 Sam they build up to for all those years

I know they were going for an emotional parallel with that “you can go now” but this random man saying it to Sam in that make up, with the music cue lined up right there - its just funny coz its so dumb im sorry

my goblin baby boy is going to have three stages in total , each having one song to perform besides origin closing off the concert , so he’s going to be performing seven songs in total ! of course , he’s going to be tired as fuck , but origin’s schedules have somewhat prepared him for this , and it feels like any other normal instance where origin has to perform . so romeo isn’t too ... shocked or anything lol he kind of figured this is would happen ! anyways , he’s still pretty juiced for his stages and hopes to make the most fun of it , at least . that is until the after party ! romeo is probably gonna go all out [ when is he .. not ] for the party because he needs to kick the fuck back and chill out for a second . he’s definitely going to pregame right after the concert ends ! if u need weed , romeo is ur guy ! he’s gonna be in and out of the party randomly getting high ..... somewhere , somehow , so tag along if thats ur thing . overall , he’s gonna work his butt off and then chill and have fun ! onto the specific plots for him .

romeo is the most aussie mf out there , so he is definitely going to be in the pool sporting some designer trunks ! he’s a water baby so if you wanna just chill and swim , play a pool game or have him teach ur muse to swim , he’s ur dude

romeo is naturally super competitive so he’s going 2 have the time of his life playing pool or beer pong , his personal faves !! come join his team or play against him pls !

if he’s not swimming and outselling ariel in the pool , he’s gonna be drinking . like a madman , so if ur muse wants a drinking buddy or have him expose them to drinking , he’s def gonna have a cup in hand at all times lmfao

and now if he’s not drinking , then i know the kid is getting high 4 sure , somehow nd somewhere . romeo prefers to smoke too but he probably has a handful of edibles shoved into his pocket or sum .. hit him up if you wanna have a sesh somewhere or get ur muse stoned for the first time w him , he loves that shit

aeri , like romeo , has a handful of stages too ! she’s going to have four in total , and will be performing seven songs in total ! she’s honestly really happy about having a lot of stages ? it definitely beats having to perform the same one (1) song all the time , plus she gets to wear cute little outfits and have people look at her so .. thats that on that . despite it being obvious hard work , she’s honestly really happy for the first time in months for the concert to showcase more of femme fatale , and she loves performing with her members too ! big bonus is all the lovely collab stages uwu she’s also really giddy for the after party so she can dress up like the true lil thotty she is ? she’s going to have lots of fun , make horrible decisions and be super out of it ! aeri doesnt have the best alcohol tolerance but like .. thats not gonna stop her from getting shitfaced lmfao . she’s a rly cute drunk if i do say so myself .. but yeah ! she’s also gonna be getting high nd things of that nature too . overall she’s going to really enjoy the concert and the afterparty too ! onto the plots !!

ref shots ain't bad at all and i'm impressed at your ability to draw from sight!! thats reaslly hard, and the perspective is super duper well done

also impressive the fact that you went to so much trouble to get an in-game reference. i dunno how much of a reference u used for emily but whether from sight or original its a fucking + and i cant wait to see the finished project

the wrinkles are nice, and so are the blood dripping and the little details above her mark (that i nearly missed!!) it all looks really nice and her face looks like HER face which is another hard thing. its nice.

wait compliments not done. the bodies make nice details bc they like direct TO emily and u got some design techniques with the behead guy. i had to take a lengthy design class. i now see design in everything. u did well.

First of all, you’re an absolute DEAR, and I adore you oh my god. I was going to reply to this last night but it was around 5am and I just ended up falling asleep whoopsies.

2) MAN THE PERSPECTIVE. DON’T EVEN GET ME S T A R T E D. It took me about an hour to set up the damn picture I wanted for the reference because I can draw Dunwall pretty decently without a reference but Karnaca’s got a really, really, really specific look whereas Dunwall is just sort of “London steampunk-ish.” And THEN it took another twenty minutes to take the damn photos because leading lines and balancing the foreground vs background, and negative space blah blah blah I’ve studied art basically my entire life, and a part of me wants to go “Fuck it” and ignore the basic principles of design, but it’s ingrained in me and I can’t. I’m getting off topic. PERSPECTIVE. RIGHT. I had to redraw the entire background around ten times because all of my ref pics were from drastically different positions and I was screaming trying to figure out where the focal points were but I think I kinda sort of got it in the end.

3) I’ve only drawn Emily about four times or so before so I have a decent understanding as to how her face looks (it helps that her moles happen to be in the same places my moles are, which is kind of freaky and creeps me out a bit) so those little details are pretty easy to figure out BUT, because I wanted to get things perfectly right I used a couple dozen refs from different sources to figure out how I wanted Emily to look. (She looks so different in every single version that I wanted to find a middle ground.) And @ominousdeer ‘s dozens of photos of Em were amazing (I did use a direct ref of ominous’ for the pose because I couldn’t be bothered to sit down for four hours scouring the internet, or fiddling with sketches), as well as my eight billion screenshots of Em during the first cinematic trailer for her (the one from the E3 announcement) ‘cause I feel like that’s how Arkane wanted her to look if she was hyper realistic, and it’s also the only one where she decently looks biracial and goddammit, I want to preserve what few biracial characters there are because I sure as hell never found any characters that were biracial in the media when I was growing up that I saw myself in.

4) The Mark!!! I didn’t give her a sword because the whole point of the piece is “blood on my hands” etc etc etc, making her crimes a little bit more personal, and in my original version of this, she was also weaponless (but her hands were covered in a LOT more blood), but narrative wise it didn’t make sense as to how she’d kill them 100% bare handed, and then I remembered that the Mark glows when it’s being used so tadaaaaa glowing, smoking Mark

5) Ahhh thank you! There was a lot of careful body placement when I was setting up my ref (which is HARD because you either fucking launch them across the entire map but they ragdoll which is nice for randomization of body placement, or you gently sit them down and they just rest in a sort of loose T-pose which is so unnatural looking and doesn’t at all make it seem like they’re dead.) I had to end up throwing bodies from down the alleyway and off of buildings (the scene is actually the Overseers’ offices where Mindy sends you to go get a body in Mission 2 of D2) so I cleared all the Overseers and threw them off the top of the building hoping it’d work... it wasn’t... fun. (Yes it totally was. Especially since I left the civilians alive so there was a lot of chaos.)
