What do you think about wavewave? The only two actually working employees club. Or bulkjack, miko’s two dads

Wavewave 9.5/10 but only bc I think Soundwave/Megatron is more fascinating to explore, otherwise it woulda been full 10. They are the only people getting shit done, they are the ones holding everyone else on a child leash, they are tired, they are terrifyingly competent, they have killer aesthetics together (Tfp Shock being a massive curvy brickwall and Sound being sharp agile walking sticks. Also both are creepy and hot in like an alien way). I really like the thought that even tho both are really stoic and silent on the surface they get more tender with each other, and while they don't necessarily communicate alot verbally, they're like. Ykno soft. And silly and stupid when they're alone. Like they get to just goof off and be relaxed in each other's company I really like that. Soundwave sends Shockwave highly specific niche memes on work hours and Shockwave reacts with like the most cold and dead "L. O. L" and they perfectly understand each other. If Tfp Shockwave was a more interesting character (at least imo, he's. A bit flat in the actual text of the show), I'd probably like this one more but as is, I think Soundwave is the more compelling of the two in this continuity

Bulkjack also 9.5/10 and also because in my heart nothing can beat Optimus/Bulkhead. Otherwise yes <3 that's Miko's dads. I like to think they're kinda queerplatonic with each other, having been more romantically involved in the past but since they went different paths they kinda separated from dating during that. But like they still really really care for each other in ways that can't solely be summed up as "best friends". It's complicated. I think they probably had some angst over it in the past but they're fine now. But I really get the feeling that Bulkhead is a bit wistful about it and kinda wishes Jackie was around more and they could be closer like before. But like they're cool about it ykno? Anyway- Nice ship, I hc it as queerplatonic, and they're Good influence dad™ vs Bad influence dad™ with Miko. They know each other and get along really well and there's just like a deep understanding between them. Good stuff. Literally only reason this isn't 10/10 is bc for me there's another ship to beat it

So, i remember you mentioning working on a fic where Fowler starts getting The Gay Thoughts tm about bulkhead.

My question is, how would this Fowler feel about wheeljack? Do you think he would go "oh shit thats his ex" and have some animosity (i think thats the word) towards the guy?

I did mention that! Yesterday actually lol

See, I don't think that bulkjack are quite exes, I think their situationship is still going across TFP because 1) look at them 2) Bulkhead knows that Jackie will always come back. But as for what that means to Fowler in the fic specifically it's gonna come up mostly as him wondering if they are A Thing, if Transformers even have romance. How does it work? Do they practice monogamy? Can they have sex? How does that factor into anything? He doesn't know because he never bothered to ask before.

Fowler is someone who has this idealized view of Usamerica and its values which translates into loyalty to its military, but across the show there is a shift in him and he ends up being more of an Autobot ally because that's the thing that actually aligns with his values. There a way to read a development in which he stops following an external ideal and comes to act in accordance to what comes from his own self. What I want us to do with the fic is basically give him a sexuality crisis that ties into that. So it's really not about him trying to hit on Bulkhead, so neither it is about him considering Wheeljack a rival.

Both Wheeljack and Bulkhead are people that Fowler specifically considers like him. Not just seeing the Autobots as people like any other, but these two he specifically relates. He has more bonding with Bulkhead who is easier to get along with, but I think Fowler has some appreaciation for Wheeljack.

However, I do think that forever ago Van and I talked about how Fowler with a crush on Bulkhead would be so offended at how Wheeljack treats him. Like he gets it, but still. Fowler already failed one marriage because of his lack of presence (in my headcanon), Wheeljack can't do this!

im sorry man I got nothing- I genuinely dont have anything to say about bulky other than i did like his personality in the show i suppose?? I definitely feel like him and wheeljack made a good pairing, kinda sad in a way, but still good.

i just physically cannot muster anything about tfp sadly, i don't like that show and i dont have anything interesting to say beyond that im afraid :C

“You are my family.”

Bulkhead found himself on top of the base, oddly hollow as Wheeljack continued to pack for his trip to…who knows where, honestly. Based on previous trips, he was likely to stay within this solar system, sure.

But something about him leaving always stung really badly. He was always worried it’d be the last time.

“Hey, Jackie…you sure you don’t wanna just stay here?” Bulkhead suggested nervously, avoiding eye contact with the smaller mech. The other turned around, resting his wrench-bearing hand on his hip.

"I dunno. You know I don't like being tied down, Bulk." He said with the usual curl of snark, though gentled because it was just the green mech here. "Besides, much as I respect Optimus, I don't want to be subject to his orders like that."

"I mean, you're gonna have to deal with the Boss Bot's orders as long as you're on Earth." Bulkhead barked out a tiny laugh as a horrible joke slipped through his lips. "Unless you join the Cons, then you'd have to deal with Mega-Dong's orders."

"...I'm sorry, did you just say Mega-Dong?"

"Miko said it once as an insult, and it kind of just stuck."

Wheeljack just nodded, making a thoughtful face. "I suppose. Though I won't be joining the Cons any time soon."

"I know you won't." Bulkhead smiled sadly. "But I'm worried about what the Cons could do to you."

"Oh, you know. An ambulance'll need to be called. Not for me though." Wheeljack smirked a bit before his face settled back into its usual collected state. "Just worry about your family, kay?"

Bulkhead's spark stung a little when the white mech said that. How could he not know after all these centuries?

"You're my family too, you dummy." The statement fell bluntly onto Wheeljack's audials.

"I am?" Wheeljack almost jumped with how much surprise he heard in his own voice.

"Of course you are!"

Fluff List #50 “Stay”

Wheeljack curled up in the berth, looking a little worse for wear as another chill of his cold ran up his back strut. He coughed into the blanket balled in his servos, a little bleary as he just tried to roll over and go back to sleep.

“Jackie...” a soft voice interrupted his endeavors, and he looked up. Bulkhead. He knew exactly what this visit meant, and he hated it.

“Hey Bulk...” Wheeljack covered his mouth with the blanket, and the Wrecker shook his head as he sat on the berth.

“C’mon Jackie...just a little sip. Ratchet says you need it.” Bulkhead held the tiny cube of glowing, orange medicine-grade Energon in between his thumb and forefinger, offering it to his partner. 

“It tastes gross.” Wheeljack honestly just sounded miserable. He shifted, seeing Bulkhead’s puppy eyes. “You’re not letting this go until I take it, are you?”

The other bot shook his head, and the engineer sighed and propped himself up on an elbow, taking the cube. He took a deep vent before he brought it to his lips, taking it as though it were a nasty shot of high grade. He shuddered and made a sad sound as he swallowed, almost accidentally crushing the empty cube in his servo.

“Thank you.” Bulkhead took the cube from him, and got ready to push himself up and off the berth. Wheeljack rolled over and grabbed his servo, holding it with a surprising amount of strength given his weakened state.

“Stay.” He said, simply,  invoking his own puppy eyes.

“I thought you wanted alone time to rest.” Bulkhead said, a little surprised at how open Wheeljack was about wanting his partner to stay.

“You made me take the slag juice, the least you can do is cuddle me now.” Wheeljack was half joking. Bulkhead just laughed and shook his head, setting the cube aside and sitting back on the berth.

“Alright then, Dear.”

He just took Jackie, wrapped up in blankets, into his lap before laying and resting the other on his front. He did always have a problem saying no to staying and cuddling.
