traffic life tangtho in general make me go *explodes*, i think i first started properly getting invested in them when i watched 3rd life... fascinated by their allies to enemies arc, somehow they felt like each other's closest people to each other the whole time despite being on opposite sides and trying to murder each other at the end... <- super not normal aboout them can u tell

yessss yesyesyes. like 3rd life started toward the end of season 7 and after etho had been playing among us with their group for several months so it's Prime tango and etho becomming way closer friends time, but like, still New (and kinda shy :')).

and from pretty early on etho makes it him and tango basing together 🥺 and they take over the village together and they're even the ORIGINAL ranchers! like etho makes a sign "Tango & Etho's Homestead" :'))) it's Cute.

and then??? idk if it's Too Good To Be True for tango but he kinda hedges his bets a little trying to get in with others, specifically the crastle, and a little solo. And there are times where etho's basically like, I thought it was me and you, tango! like catch me cryinggg about that. tango you could have had it all. (like he Left etho bc he was too scared to trust it being the two of them. but etho wanted him and thought he had him until he feels he can't read tango and tango sides with the crastle over him (etho even calls him a traitor for it 🥺), and then of course etho's part of the Red Army who are against the Crastle and ugh. the angst of it truly. And then tango is still hurt that etho doesn't trust him anymore???)

but the way tango still gravitated toward etho's white wool (flammable) castle so much. and sought out etho's input on his lava trap game (and etho Loved that it was a sneaky loophole to get players to kill themselves, since they couldn't kill on green) (and just like tango still goes to etho for input on DO2 today :')) they're honestly Such a team). also some A+ teasing between them As Always.

yeah...yeah. Thank you for this ask and letting me dip back into the 3rd Life rabbit hole. I could honestly do with rewatching that properly some time; I'm probably forgetting elements of it. but oh man you phrased them So Well. shaking hands with you hard. and I think it was 3rd life that made me first do art for them as well 🥹

So in The Story of the Toy Soldier, most of the art shows either its face or most of its body (I'm excluding "beheld an angel" drawing from this). The three pieces that don't are "sometimes she made him say things he didn't understand" (the woman from the beginning), "sometimes they made him say things he didn't understand" (the salvation army), and "stole the beautiful voice for his own".

The first two instances are the times it's the most Not. The times where it is just a tool and nothing more. It's cut of the picture because it may have been the one talking but it was others who were speaking.

The third one is interesting because it's the occasion where TS has the most agency. Every other action it has taken until this point has been someone else's choice or fueled by loneliness. One could argue that this is fueled by loneliness but I digress. It finally made an active decision, but only its arms are in the picture. I'd say that's because the important part of this picture is the voicebox. Its old voice was other peoples' more so than it was its own. While this voicebox is technically someone else's, the Toy Soldier chose it and uses it to build a new and better life. The Toy Soldier didn't need to be in the drawing because the voicebox is just as much the Toy Soldier as its face is
