Since everyone's reading comprehension clearly just went out the window when the person in the Epstein documents asked about Michael Jackson. The girl literally said nothing happened. And to go into more detail, this was before anything about Epstein came to light and when Epstein was still fronting as one of those financial businessmen. MJ was LITERALLY THOROUGHLY investigated and HEAVILY survellienced by the government/FBI for over 2 decades BEFORE and AFTER meeting Epstein, the FBI REALLY wanted MJ gone from the public eye, they even tried to use his childhood photos and some playboy magazines to prove he was guilty. In the 2000s MJ was in conflict with Sony and was going broke, some people(we dont know who they were yet) recommended he go to Epstein to solve financial issues. MJ dipped out and Epstein never got his number, his name literally was not in that black book. Y'all keep bringing up those false accusations with the boys when if you actually look up anything on it, the boys came forward and said their parents lied, and the bed thing was false because MJ's room was huge and had two beds, he had the PARENTS AND THEIR KIDS sleeping in the beds in his room while HE slept in his own GUEST ROOM.

Stop making shit up when the people who wanted so badly for him to do something criminal literally couldn't find anything at all in all those years that he was looked at so closely to the point he was literally having mental breakdowns from being watched every where he went, during every call, and so on.

(edit: To add to this, people constantly lie about his skin and how he felt about himself and his body too. When for one, his autopsy was right there and literally says he suffered from lupus and Vitilogo and his hair was literally the way it was due to it being set on fire in that one Pepsi commercial, there are literally graphic images of just how badly his scalp had been damaged. He never hated himself or his blackness, infact he actively tried to hide his white splotches for as long as he could. He used makeup and skincare stuff that he was unaware had any bleaching affects in the ingredients. He was very open and loud about being proud of his African heritage, he even was crowned in an African village.

I made this post cause I started tweaking because the singular black breadtuber I was watching was reading the Epstein documents and when he got to Michael being mentioned he and everyone in chat suddenly became illiterate and he was talking some shit like "it would seem he really was that guy if those documentaries, court stuff and articles didn't already convince you" like WHAT??? And chat was agreeing and someone was like "the Twitter stans are still gonna find a way to defend him after this" mind you, if you weren't bread dead and believed all that slander, all the court stuff declared and pretty much proved his innocence and later one people including his own friends and family came forward saying they were forced and coerced into lying. Those documentaries that came out and so many of those articles were straight up slanderous because they were damn tabloids, I don't get why people are still trying to use tabloids as proof when they were known for spreading rumors that often were not true in the slightest. This shit actually has me genuinely heated. Like, the breadtuber didn't bother reading the rest and was just like "well that proves it" even though it was stated right below that Epstein did not have his contact. Then there's the dumbasses on Twitter too making this shit worse. You'd think that most people at some point would bother to actually use their brains and seek out as much info as possible instead of taking lies and running with it, especially if they have a platform where they literally should be doing such a thing but nope. The guy was iffy about the star wars guy and whether or not he was actually a contact in Epstein's list but that same grace was not afforded to MJ.

making an entire separate post about pewdiepie

#him being in rewind (apparently he was in 2019's rewind too?? and i dont remember hearing *anything* about that)#well i hould probably explain some stuff first- this is just me personally so.. dont take it super super seriously #but yknow how a bunch of people were streaming among us with pewdiepie?#something felt kimda fucky about it to me and its been hard to put it into words #and this is.. kinda related i think; but sometimes i think about corpse husband and something just feels really fucky #and so i guess the best way to describe is like..#everyone seems to have just kinda.. forgotten? that pewdiepie has a fairly large number of alt righters in his audience #and the thing about that is i dont even know if thats like a well-known and established thing or smth that if i pointed it out people would #act like im crazy and talking out of my ass #and i think the thing that bothers me is that first off you have all these people streaming with pewdiepie like nothing's happened #but second you have all these people streming with pewdiepie and you'll inevitably get people that start crossing over #between the fandoms right?#so some people might start watching pewdiepie because 'hey he seems like a fun creator'; and those people may end up being exposed to the #alt righters in his audience and those people's opinions #and i tink im doing a pretty poor job of explaining this here but basically #we're risking exposing a *lot* more people to alt right talking points and memes #and it's troubling #& what makes it even more troubling is that it seems like the only people who have talked about how pewds has literal nazis in his audience #are breadtubers #like im 99% sure none of the people he streams with (or other creators in that circle) have really even given it a second thought #and the other concerning thing is that they just *might not know*#because god knows pewdiepie's done a pretty shit job of addressing the problem himself #and it bothers me that people are just.. basically letting him back in without him having done anything substantial

Like, I’m willing to give this essay a chance, maybe they’ll raise some intersting points, but from what I’ve seen of Curio’s work it’s like... not good (or at least very much not my style).

They have to be my least favorite “breadtuber”, I just don’t vibe with them, they always struck me as the kind of “leftist media analysis” person who values everything being “properly represented” than like, human and nuanced and interesting in sometimes not exactly “good representation” kind of way.

I ESPECIALLY didn’t enjoy that in their “sexuality in the witcher” essay they just came out of the left field with talking about PiS’ treatment of LGBT people IN CONTEXT OF THE WITCHER 2... Like, PiS started their rule in 2015 and witcher 2 came out in 2011 and was written even earlier... Duda’s comment on LGBT people being an “ideology” is from like, a year ago... what does any of that has to do with witcher 2... the audacity of some Brit to just start talking about the culture and political climate of a “poor” country they know very little about, ESPECIALLY when that person calls themselves a leftist (so in theory they should treat other countries and cultures equally and without condescention)... not a good look. And them implying that, idk, PiS wants to commit genocide on LGBT people in Poland because they’re some “cRaAaZy Eastern Euro religious fanatics!!11!!!!”... Like, no, their hatered of LGBT people is 100% performative, they’re not some crazed lunatics, they’re pragmatic politicians who are willing to scapegoat a minority group to give their voters someone to hate and detract from their own fuck ups and schemes. This isn’t a Polish/Eastern Euro phenomenon either, it’s a populist phenomenon. Trump won due to his hate campaign against Mexican immigrants and Muslims, French populists are riling up people against Muslim immigrants and British politicians against immigranst in general, while stoking the fire of colonial longings. Poland just doesn’t have an ethnic/racial minority big enough to make into a target, so LGBT people are the next best thing. During the migration crisis they were more than happy to use the same kind of rethoric against the refugees. Who exactly is persecuted is mostly interchangable, always was.

So this kind of framing of “Poland is suuuuper LGBTphobic, gay people are LITERALLY at the risk of murder whenever they leave home, so no wonder that the depictions of LGBT characters in a game that CAME OUT IN 2011 are kinda bad ://///” is just disingeniuous and dumb, like, I don’t like the tone that implies that EVERY SINGLE CISHET PERSON IN POLAND is homophobic/transphobic and wants to KILL LGBT PEOPLE... Stop, this would literally never fly if it was about any other country... If you’ve implied that idk, every single Japanese person is homophobic, you would (rightfully!) be called a racist, but you can call every Pole/Czech/Serbian/Lithuanian/etc a homophobe who wants to kill gay people because the president said they’re an ideology, and as we know, everyone who isn’t a Western European is blindly obedient to their country’s leader and can’t think for themselves (something something “remnants of communism in their minds”) and everyone will suck your toes over how “brave” you are and “how good that you said something about what’s happening in Poland”... Polish people stop sucking up to westerners who mention our country at all no matter the context and way we are mentioned please...

Could just be my general disposition of breaking in hives whenever I hear a westerner talking about LGBT people in Poland and saying anything that isn’t “Well, that sucks, stay strong out there, here’s twenty bucks”.

Ehhh, whatever, this is a tangent. What I was going to say is that I will watch their essay, but I hope they’ll have hotter takes than “Well if punk, then why can you work with the police???? Checkmate CDProjekt, you fake capitalist shills 😏😏😏😏😏” and “Well, this game is problematique and ~gross~ because Johnny is bi but he’s a horrible abusive person, Kerry got bi-earasured and the character creator is simplistic and doesn’t capture the entire spectrum of trans identities, so the devs are surely malicious and LGBTphobic, but what did you expect from a country like Poland where LGBT people are routinely BEATEN and ATTACKED and the writers in CDP have NO CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS and just SPEW THE LGBTPHOBIC NONSENCE THE PARTY IS FEEDING THEM.” :////////

I have always been used to living in a place no one has ever heard of. A small retirement town on the edge of a peninsula that is on the edge of a state that is on the edge of a continent.

If you're from the West Coast, the assumption is that you are from California. But I am not from California; I am from Washington. When I tell people I am from Washington, people assume I am talking about DC. When you say you are from Washington State, the assumption is that you live in Seattle. But I am not from Seattle; I am from Clallam County. When I say I am from Clallam County, people first think of Port Angeles. I don't live in Port Angeles: I am from a town called Sequim.

The only centrality I have ever been able to claim has been that I live in The United States of America, the center of the universe, the superpower of the globe. However, I may not be able to say even that for much longer, the glory days of American exceptionalism behind us, because I heard recently that "the 1800s was the century of Britain, the 1900s the century of America, and the 2000s will be the century of Asia." Global dynamics are changing. If there was any doubt whether or not that was the case before 2016, Donald Trump sealed the deal. We are now a laughingstock. Meanwhile, China and metropolises in Asian Pacific are infiltrating Africa with colonial imperialism. Even the dynamics of the US itself are changing: we will be a racial minority-majority country before we know it.

And to that I say: good riddance. Let the world change already. I am already at he fifth stage of grief: acceptance. Let climate change fuck shit up. Let the apocalypse come. Let the manufacturing jobs move to China. Let the protester riots burn cities to the ground. Let the coronavirus thin the herd. Bring it on.

You see, I am stuck in a town that is inhabited by a populace who still behave as if it is the 1950s. Conservatives who have always benefited from Americana are suddenly getting an ego check - and they are resisting it, hard.

In a way, I understand the marginalization of people dismiss "the flyover states" because nothing significant ever happens there.

My dad says Seattle is a nice place to visit but he wouldn't want to live there. When my best friend from growing up moved there after high school, that's exactly what he said about Sequim.

I wonder how much of my views are influenced by the people around me. I didn't know much about politics when I was in high school but all of my beliefs were from Mikaele. Now Trent and BreadTube led me down a communism phase. I've held beliefs that are not shared by feminists, antifeminists, or MRAs. I have never met anyone who thinks catcalling is a good thing.

There is an entire faction of disenfranchised young people who are facing the same problems as me and Trent; only they get radicalized in the other direction and turn to the alt-right. They diagnose the problems spot on, but their solutions are incredibly wrong by blaming those below them instead of those above. But I can't help thinking about what Pete Buttigeig said once when he compared Bernie to Trump: being othered can radicalize you to reject the "system" or "establishment" and look to populist leaders, and some people end up fascists or racists and some end up socialists or communists or anarchists. I am very obstinate about my politics, even though I have changed before (saying "it is not an opinion, it is just wrong"), but how do I know I am not wrong? Racism is decidedly bad, we know that for sure.

I watched part of the third night of the Democratic National Convention tonight. I didn't even know the convention was happening until it came on my parents' TV on the first night, and the first thing I heard about it was that John Kasich, a literal republican, was speaking at the DEMOCRATIC National Convention for no reason other than he hates Trump, and that Michelle Obama came out of the shadows to let lib peasants kiss her feet. I didn't hear anything about the convention. I looked forward to watching the debates with vigor, turned them into drinking games and date nights, but after all of the shit that went down, the DNC does not come up in the circles I am in. "DNC" is a dirty term.

Billie Eillish was there tonight to be the token hip young person to convince all the young cynical leftists to vote for Sleepy Joe. Barrack Obama gave a speech that seemed to stop time in my world. Like most politicians, I've heard a lot about him, but I've seldom watched him a speech from beginning to end. Then Kamala Harris gave her acceptance speech to be the Vice Presidential Nominee, and it wasn't as inspirational, maybe because I've already seen her speak at the debates, maybe because Obama is this nostalgic figure that I remember from my childhood. I thought about how she pooped on Joe Biden during that one debate by calling him out for supporting racist legislation, and how she threw black people in jail for nonviolent drug offences yet bragged on that one podcast about smoking weed and listening to music that hadn't come out yet. And now they are both pretending to be BFFs while talking about dismantling systemic racism, and it makes me wonder if all politics is pandery bullshit and lies like this. Obama says no.

I think I have made up my mind: I will vote for Biden/Harris, but I won't ever let my mom know. Her activism begins and ends with convincing me to vote for her milquetoast moderate boomer, and it is my job to challenge her to think about the greater world. At the end of the day, we live in Washington, and our votes ultimately don't matter.

I watched a YouTube video yesterday about the unique marketing of Trader Joe's, and all of the memories came back. They explained that you might not be able to get all your staples there but you will find special things that you can't find anywhere else. I miss being able to walk to Trader Joe's and find seasonal treasures. What a strange thought: I hate grocery shopping but I love Trader Joe's. I hate cooking but I love the restaurant business. I am dazzled, is that so wrong?

I mentioned to Trent while we were packing switch openers that maybe I could own a restaurant someday. "Owning a restaurant is just babysitting employees like Neil is doing." I yelled at him not to poop all over my dreams and it was just some thought I had. He said "Oh no." I can't stand him whatsoever. I can never say or even think anything around him; I need to be myself behind his back and "plot", as he calls it, my future through secretive phone calls. That's why I have this diary: I need somewhere I can say all of the things in my head without any consequences or judgement. Just thinking about owning a restaurant one day doesn't affect my or Trent's life whatsoever.
