danny got his big break in the mid 90s at only 16 years old so you know what that means? there is a 100% chance he started popping up on the cover of teen magazines not long after. shit like bop, teen people, and tigerbeat, specifically - the kind that had multiple pages of collaged photos and a gigantic glossy poster that you had to carefully rip out or the staples would rip the whole thing down the middle.

BNHA X DP Crossover HCs
After the long wait and finals, here are my ideas for all the quirks/occupations and other concepts I devised for the DP characters in the BNHA universe. This was just for fun and for inspiration towards others interested in this crossover au in general.
Tagging the people that were looking forward to this post based on the replies: @qoinq-qhost, @floralflowerpower, @tgfangirl4eva @goodfish-bowl, @whitehairglowinggreeneyedcrush and more.
Anyways, happy reading, folks!
Mr. Lancer
Hero name: Mr. Scholastic
Quirk: Bookworm
Involves his iconic usage of literature titles & quotes for swears to become abilities corresponding to the novel’s contents/themes. Course, he is limited to only books he has read and can quote accurately. Additionally, his voice gets very raspy past two or three quotes as well.
Occupation: Homeroom Teacher for Class 1- A; He’s very dedicated to his new students and teaching the fundamentals of being a pro hero and more! Course, I don’t think his chamomile tea with a wedge of lemon is enough to help him relax from his students (*cough* Danny, Tucker and Poindexter) from their antics at times.
Danny
Hero name: Phantom
Quirk: Ghost core (Ok, @coffeecakecafe had the best name for this one gotta give credit here)
Able to do anything a ghost is perceived to do. Go through walls, disappear and fly. This is a one of a kind quirk as it was obtained from Danny’s old quirk being altered by a machine his parents made that would repurpose/alter an individual’s quirk based on their past family members' own metahuman genetics.
Danny is doing his best and trying to understand his new quirk without causing too much attention to himself while doing so but it seems like its been doing the opposite as of late. Thankfully, he won’t be doing it alone with all his classmates around to help him!
Sam
Hero Name: Black Dahlia
Quirk: Overgrown
Able to create any plant that she knows the biological makeup and content of in almost any environment. However, it is important for her to drink lots of nutrient rich water and take in enough sun if she plans to create larger versions of these plants.
Tucker
Hero name: Tech Master
Quirk: Tech Core
Located on his chest/heart area is a special energy core capable of powering electronics at a rate faster than anything made-man could ever hope to achieve. As a kid, Tucker would tinker away in his family’s garage on a suit that would harness his power to the fullest extent and lead a new era of support tech in the hero world.
Valerie
Hero name: Red Huntress
Quirk: Electromagnetism (Someone I’ve been trying to find their post on my blog had posted this idea and I fell in love with it ever since)
She’s like Static Shock but with a dash of magenta/ruby lasers she can create through focusing her electromagnetism through her finger tips. She is an expert with her quirk and has the best handle of her quirk than most of her peers. She is the most frequent visitor in the support equipment workshop next to Tucker, Poindexter and Danny. It’s how she built the hoverboard she has in the show that utilizes her electromagnetic abilities for both offensive and defensive maneuvers. (Also, I enjoy the idea that Bullet is Val’s uncle on her mom’s side and is her biggest supporter alongside her dad, Damien Gray).
Jazz
Quirk: Serenity
Helps calm individuals and give them a sense of safety/security when they’re around her in a 10 feet radius. Though, anyone out of range cannot be affected by her quirk and she needs to be conscious in order to use it.
She planned on becoming a pro hero but felt her powers were best suited for her dream profession as a psychologist. She has used her quirk a lot when Danny was overwhelmed with his studies prior to UA. Course, a phone call and sibling chat over the phone certainly does the job for Danny now when it comes to preparing material for exams. (Course, its up to you guys to decide)
Dash
Hero name: Rager
Quirk: Strength Magnification
Improves his physique and stamina by a large percentage for a set amount of time. Needs to be careful of how much/long he magnifies his body or else his body will become immensely sore.
Kwan
Hero name: Rallier
Quirk: Team Rally (50/50)
Able to duplicate himself 3-4 times while being able to power-up allies’ quirks or stamina with a rally chant to help the team. The more duplicates there are the rally effect multiplies/stacks on the individual but it can lead to dangerous outcomes for their quirk output.
Kwan is the class representative for 1-A, he’s the best at the job and was more than thrilled to be the one leading his class in more ways than one.
Paulina
Hero name: Enchantress
Quirk: Charm
If the opponent is flustered by her taunts or flirting, their vision will become altered and start seeing things that are not there. It works better on men than women and the opponent can snap out of it with enough willpower or if they’re not interested in her.
Star
Hero name: Ms. Meteorite
Quirk: Comet
Similar to Gran Torino’s Jet quirk except faster and she can create an explosive impact on where she lands. Similar to a meteorite landing on earth, she also learns to use this as a long distance move by punching fast enough as she descends to create wind pressure punches.
Poindexter
Hero name: Tex (like in Tex Avery; Danny gave him the idea!)
Quirk: Slapstick
His appearance is black and white just like an old timey cartoon character as well as having the durability and cartoon powers of one. However, his quirk can only work as long as what he does with it is funny in the circumstance it’s used for. Sort of like “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” rules in a sense.
Sidney is part of Class 1-A just saying, I don’t care, this is Poindexter’s time to shine here to be the coolest/funniest person in the class. Also, Tucker’s most loyal friend/tester for new support items.
Wes Weston
Hero name: Vigilance
Quirk: Deduction
He is able to deduct people’s identities to flaws/weak points for him to use against them and  exploit against problems.
Class 1-B Representative and the most annoying/terrifying person that Danny has dealt with in his life. He was able to figure out that Danny’s quirk is not his own or more so that it's not natural and takes every opportunity to state this regardless if anyone is listening or not.
Amber Mclain
Hero Name: Ember
Quirk: Fiery voice (50/50)
Her quirk uses the vibrations in her sining voice to conduct intense heat waves onto opponents or utilize to rumble the structures around here and even put out the flames from her quirk. Its like a combination of Present Mic and Endevours quirk but it leaves her with a strained or inflamed vocal cords with overuse.
Third year student or an upcoming rock star that has certainly gain huge popularity after her song “Remember” was a nationwide hit amongst the younger generation. She’s striving to be the top hero while making her next hit to become the 1# song on the listings.
Dani
Hero name: Phantwo (lol jk; unsure what her name would be)
Quirk: Poltergeist
Similar to Danny’s quirk “Ghost”, except she has the additional ability to melt herself to a slimy puddle and use her ectoplasmic slime to trap or surprise opponents.
Clockwork
Hero Name: Clockwork
Quirk: Time Keeper
Clockwork’s quirk allows him to stop time for 5 to 15 minutes and be able to rewind it in the same amount of time. It can be one to multiple objects as long as he touches them in order to interact with them.
Principle of UA in this au. He’s quite a reserved man but still manages to visit and congregate with students throughout the school during lunch period.
Flynn Fenton/Flynn Walker
Hero Name: The Green Knight
Quirk: Mineralization
His quirk allows him to manipulate the minerals and inorganic materials in the atmosphere to create into crystalized constructs that are almost stronger than diamond. Luckily, the crystals have no value so he doesn’t have to worry about that aspect of his quirk. He does have to worry about his skin becoming dried out as a result of his quirk usage.
Flynn is a third year student that loves to check up on his cousin, Danny, any chance he gets bc of the amount of work he does with his internships.
James Walker (or James W. Hausermann)
Hero name: Warden Wraith
Quirk: Plasma Apparatus
His quirk ionizes the electrolytes in the blood system into plasma. His entire body is composed of plasma giving him his skeletal appearance. He can create plasma chains, teleport from point A to B and more as long as he focuses and has enough energy at use. Course, he can have minor to severe dehydration and imbalance in his electrolyte levels from overuse.
Occupation: CEO of an infrastructure security company/Provisional License Examiner just like Gang Orca. The ghost prison guards become his backup/helpers for the exam phases. (They’re just trained stuntmen with combat or military experience for the occasion).
Also, I like to think Walker has kids in this au who are in the Class 1-A group; they’re not hard to spot they take after their father with their skeletal complexion.
Skulker
Villain name: Quirk Hunter
Quirk: Tracker
The moment Skulker makes eye contact with his target he will be able to hunt them down and find them anywhere no matter how good they are at covering their tracks. He can lock on to only one target, but he will be able to know their heart beat, quirk, be able to place a tracking/scent line that only he can see and will lead him to his target’s location. It lasts for over a day or a half.
Occupation: Skulker is known for capturing, info-detailing or “retiring” newcomer pros or specific quirk users for his clients that pay him handsomely for their targets, dead or alive. Thanks to Vlad, Danny was strictly intended to be captured alive by Skulker but sometimes he gets too thrilled by the hunt to not have a memento. Trust me, it's more of a dangerous
Nicolai Technus
Villain Name: Technus
Quirk: Technopathy
A genius in his own right, even if he’s a little crazy, with the best ability possible for a man of science and innovation. As long as he knows the makeup and attributes of the machine, Technus is able to completely repurpose or change a machine’s qualities for offensive and defensive qualities. Whenever that be for a mech suit or hacking a high tech system for entry, he’s able to do it as long as he knows what it is and how it functions. An example is repurposing a slot machine into a submachine gun that shoots coins at the target.
Vlad Masters
Name: Vlad Plasmius
Quirk: Vampire
Can do anything a vampire can supposedly do. However, he was able to manifest an additional aspect of this quirk which is the ability to copy any quirk users ability. Based on the type of blood he ingests decides the amount of time he can use the copied quirk for.
Occupation: CEO of his own hero firm, he is extremely selective with the interns he has that there is a major waitlist to be even consider for Masters Inc. Course, imagine the surprise Danny must of felt when he received an offer from Vlad right off the bat after the Sports festival.
Bruce Guiles (Bullet)
Hero Name: Bullet
Quirk: Sphyraena or Chimera Fish
Able to do anything a barracuda can do or the quirk is a 50/50 mutant quirk in which he has both the traits of a barracuda, Chimaeras and a touch of piranha from his parents being of one of these fish species hence Chimera. Bullet can do anything those fish can do overall but he can’t go too long without hydration from water. Water quality and its oxygen content also affect his abilities by a noticeable percentage but he still remains quite formidable as a quirk user.
Occupation: Captain of a coast guard team, he’s a strict military man with an amazing record of saving people from any disasters both on land and sea. Him and Walker are best buddies ever since they went to school together.
Vortex
Hero Name: Vortex
Quirk: Storm Warning
Vortex can utilize any variation of a natural disaster depending on the environment he’s in. Hurricanes, tornadoes, thunderstorms, you name it he can create it for his use. However, despite his amazing control over his quirk it is still possible for him to create these disasters if he lost control or magnify another pre-existing one if he loses focus.
Occupation: Storm-chaser/Forecaster; His control and knowledge in combating/predicting these natural disasters has led to him to be part of a storm chasing crew and they’re the best in helping disaster prevention teams evacuate citizens as a result.
Petra Eris
Hero name: Pandora
Quirk: Butterfly Effect
Can manipulate or prevent a chaotic event to happen if she was in proximity and present to prevent it to happen. Or even give a little chaos to the opponent to deal with during battle.
One of the top ten heroes and most beloved heroes in the country. She is the best strategist in any team and has a way to predict any event before they happen given the necessity of it for her quirk to work in her favor.
Johnny
Vigilante name: Johnny 13
Quirk: Unlucky
Johnny manifests his bad luck into a shadow that will latch onto opponents and cause unfortunate events to occur more for that individual as a result. However, the shadow cannot exist in complete sunlight; it can only remain if there are already shadows in his general area or it’s nighttime and its effects are strongest at that time obviously.
Occupation: Johnny is the leader of a biker gang or de-facto leader of said biker gang who loves to raise hell and helping folks that need saving whenever he’s around or is up to the task. Kitty tags along with him to help him out of jams and bc she loves him. :3
Kitty
Vigilante name: Kitty
Quirk: Lovesick
Kitty sends a smooch towards her opponent which if it makes contact causes the individual to have nausea or become disoriented for around 10 minutes. It can also have a chance of lasting longer if the individual was sort of infatuated with her regardless of gender.
Pariah Dark
Villain name: King Pariah
Quirk: Ultimate Adaptation
Similar to all for one except with the unpredictability for both the user and opponents. Pariah can manifest any type of quirk needed to defeat anyone that stands in his way both one-on-one and in groups. Course, drawbacks are the learning curve to some of the quirks and that multiple adaptions he utilizes at once will destroy his cells in the process.
Pariah is a former follower of all for one who had unique quirk that All for one augmented to help him succeed if both Shigaraki and Tomura failed in their own conquest for the world. But now Pariah has his own plans to succeed where they failed and become the leader who shapes a new world order with an iron fist.
Frederick Kingsmen
Villain/vigilante name: Fright Knight
Quirk: Burning Energy Infusion
Able to form/infuse objects with his own burning energy life force that is capable of burning or slicing through any in his sight. The sweat he gives off is what provides the material needed to ignite his unnatural flames despite it causing his body to overheat still.
Fright Knight is Pariah’s second-in-command with a loyalty to him as strong as his control over his power. Fright Knight has faced many pro-heros as he carried out the smaller phases of Pariah’s plans and most of them barely came close towards defeating or leaving as much as  scratch on the knight.
Rodolfo Gonzalo
Hero name: Wulf
Quirk: Werewolf + Portal creation (50/50?)
Can do anything a werewolf can supposedly do; somehow it allows him to create portals with his claws to locations he has marked with them or visited in the past.
Wulf was abducted on by Pariah’s forces and sent into the Nomu labs for experimentation to force on another quirk and instill complete allegiance to their cause. Course, Wulf broke free as a result of that new additional quirk allowing him to escape their clutches and his previous one helping him survive the endeavor. However, he lost his memories in the process and could only remember his native language, Spanish, and his hero name Wulf.
Overgrown
Villain/vigilante Name: Overgrown
Quirk: Plant Manipulation
Can manipulate any pre-existing plant matter or create new vegetation if water and soil is present for the process or he understand the biological makeup of the plant in question.
Occupation: Pro-hero or eco-terrorist who is tired of humanity from abusing the environment from quirk battles to industries using the land for their own benefits and none others.
That’s all I have for now! I hope this was worth the wait, guys. As well as, inspire ideas for your takes with a DP x BNHA Crossover!

Prompt Request: Danny and friends discovering an in-universe phansite dedicated to speculating about the local ghost boy and his shenanigans.
This??? Was so??? Much fun??? To write?????? Thank you so much for the prompt!!! ;w;
“Danny! You have to see this!”
Said halfa in question groaned; he, Sam, and Tucker were busy trying to get homework done before patrol that night. And with the way his grades are currently? Yeah, getting distracted was something he didn’t need at the moment. But Tucker stretched his arms way above his head, letting loose a groan as Danny heard his bones pop, “Hey, you guys up for a five minute break?”
Sam curled her toes to get some feeling back into them before standing up, “Yep. How about you, Danny?”
Despite the urge to do his homework like he was determined to do, Danny had to admit that a break sounded amazing. They had been doing Precalculus for a good hour, and his brain needed rest, “Sure. But we should get this finished before patrol…” He warned.
“Oh, c’mon Danny; we’ll get it all done before tonight,” Tucker rolled his eyes. Sam was walking out the door already with her arms above her head, fitted comfortably in Danny’s sweatshirt and a pair of Tucker’s cargo pants. The technofreak still had no clue how she got a hold of their clothes when they weren’t looking, but he dismissed the suspicions to keep talking, “Besides, Jazz sounded excited about something.”
Sam looked over her shoulder, “Let’s just hope it’s not a new psychology therapy session theory she wants to try out on us.” She shivered before continuing, “I still remember the last time she tried something in those college books of hers on us.”
It was Danny’s turn to roll his eyes at his friends before ushering them out into the hallway and hurriedly making their way into Jazz’s overly pink room. Said sister was curled up in her chair in front of her computer screen, her face red and a smile plastered on her face. Danny wasn’t sure what was making her convulse in the manner she was, but after a moment realized that his sister was laughing.
She pulled her orange hair up into a tight bun and wiped any stray tears from her eyes before leaning out of the chair to stand up, “Y-You guys have at it. I need to get something to calm me down…” She let out a laugh behind a hand, “By the Ancients, the comments are hilarious.”
Danny raised an eyebrow at the curse, recognizing as something that he says too often for his own good. But the surprise quickly went away as he saw the black, white, and green background of Jazz’s computer screen. He sat down in the chair and read the blog title, ‘The Phantom Conspiracy!’
Tucker let out a small breath he wasn’t sure he was holding before jumping into Danny’s lap to see the computer better, to which Danny groaned at the unexpected weight, “You’re too heavy, get off.”
“Stop whining!” Tucker cheekily smiled, “Besides, I’m not that heavy, and you have super strength.”
“Get used to it, Danny,” Sam smirked before collapsing on top of both of them, making the two of them groan beneath her, “Either you make room, or you deal with the two of us.” She popped her gum loudly to make her point, earning her a glare from the two boys below her.
They settled into the chair quickly, Danny supporting both friends’ weight on his legs. As they all found a comfortable position, the three juniors read a few of the articles to themselves.
“Danny, Danny, click on that one! It’s all fanfiction about you!” Tucker pointed and practically yelled. A click later, and the techie was guffawing, getting himself drunk on the giggles that the new page produced, “People ship you with other ghosts! Look, even with our infamous Red Huntress! And Box Ghost!”
Danny rolled his eyes and clicked away from the page, not wanting to have Tucker beg him to read some of the more smutty stories on the site. How was that even allowed on a public internet server? He wasn’t even human! Sam leaned over the two of them and pointed to a tab that Danny clicked, “The Phantom Experience? Why does this sound like a spa treatment?”
He gave out a sigh as he clicked on the page, already feeling slightly uncomfortable with the entire website. Danny vaguely wondered who would even start a blog like this, and how the hell was it so popular?! “Is this… An origin story?”
“WHAT?!” Danny and Tucker leaned in closer, and Tuck read the article out loud for everyone to listen to, “‘Danny Phantom, the mysterious ghost boy, had appeared almost two years ago to save the residents of Amity Park. But where did this ghost come from? There aren’t any reported deaths of people who look exactly like the ghost-’ Dude! This is totally an origin story!”
“Well? What does it say?” Danny asked, with a newfound fervor. With all the other supers in the world, he didn’t want people to think he had a lame origin. What if the freaking Batman found out if he had a horrible backstory? (Although, Danny still wasn’t too impressed that he him having half-died is his origin, seeing as Superman came from an entirely different planet, but he could deal with it).
Sam scanned the page quickly, and pointed near the end, drawing their attention to a hand drawn picture of the halfa with a section under it, “It says here that you died thousands of years ago!”“That doesn’t make any sense!” Danny exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air. A groan escaped his lips as he covered his face with a hand, feeling his cheeks and ears flame up a bit at the inaccuracies, “What feasible proof is there?”
“Remember ol’ Vladdie man taking the Infimap from the Far Frozen clan?” Danny looked up, slightly horrified that someone traced him back that far, “Looks like someone in Rome wrote about you, and same in ancient China, and again in Salem. People seem to think you liked to lay low then, but now feel a duty to protect this place in particular because of all the ghost attacks.”
“Why would anyone want to know my history that badly?” He murmured. Danny had to admit that he felt almost violated at the blogger’s want to find out more about him. He looked at the author and saw a familiar name, “Paulina?!”
Sam nodded, taking the mouse and clicking on a few other articles, “Seems like she’s written a majority of these, actually.” The goth leaned in closer to the screen, “She’s not that bad a a writer. Huh.”
“Can we get back on topic here?” Danny practically groaned, rubbing his temples. He was going to need so much aspirin to get rid of the headaches this was giving him, “I thought this was supposed to be funny, not mortifying.”
A few clicks, and Tucker got them to the comment section of the origin story that Paulina had written out. Said technofreak slipped off of the armrest and landed directly in the center of Danny’s lap, making him cringe while Tucker stared at the screen in awe, “Oh. My. God. Wes posted about you being Phantom online!”
Sam leaned closer as well, deciding to ruin Danny’s night more by falling into Tucker’s lap so the both of them were once again crushing Danny beneath them. A majority of the messages were from Wes Weston, the brat that was constantly trying to get Danny in trouble and casually spread his secret around like the common cold. But she had to admit, the conversations in the comments were hilarious.
WWeston: Phantom isn’t that old! He’s fucking 16! It’s Danny Fenton, you guys are all idiots!
Beauty Queen: Wes can i post one thing on this blog without you claiming this every time?
StarQuarterback: theres??? proof??? in the article??? about phantom being in rome? wes can you stfu
WWeston: I have literally seEN FENTON TURN INTO PHANTOM HES NOT THAT SECRETIVE ABOUT IT HE DOESNT CARE IF YOU SEE HIM
Beauty Queen: Are you just jealous because Phantom was crowned honorary homecoming King and you werent?
WWeston: 1, YOU GAVE THE CROWN TO PHANTOM and 2, I WOULDNT BE JEALOUS OF A FENTON
KwanL: God, wes, just let it go.
Beauty Queen: He’s totally jealous of Phantom, someone make some fanfiction of these two omfg
WWeston: HES FENTON AND IM NOT FUCKIN GAY
StarQuarterback: It’s not gay if he’s dead, bro. We got you a tshirt about it man
WWeston: I burned it. I’m not wearing anything involving that half-ghost freak! And it’s stILL GAY
KwanL: What the hell are you talking about???? Phantom is a ghost, it’s impossible for a half-ghost to exist. Get your ass out of fairytale land mr.basketball
Now was when Danny had finally found the entire endeavor of reading these worth his time away from homework. Wes had an account on a Danny Phantom blog to rant to others about how he was half-ghost, and the best part was no one believed him. How stupid could people get?
And Mr. Basketball? Danny had to remember to use that line next time he saw the redhead approach him with his newest conspiracy about him. He looked over to see Sam on the floor, clutching her stomach, and Tucker, who was still seated in Danny’s lap, was halfway out of the chair, tears streaming down his face. A knock resounded in the room, and Jazz came back in with cups of tea for everyone, “T-To soothe your throats from… pffft… the laughing.”
“Whatever you say, Mr. Basketball,” Tuck’s statement sent everyone into another round of laughter, and Danny had to admit. Sometimes, it was good to take a break.

Bucks Live Reflective Blog
For my second year module Bucks Live, my class were tasked with putting on a family event on the university concourse. My role was team leader of the talent and entertainment team and this consisted of ensuring the event had Artists and performers to entertain the crowd throughout the day. I originally would of preferred to be in the marketing team as it would allow me to be more creative but i was also ok with being in the talent team as i have my own experience organising and playing in gigs. I also had knowledge on the technical side to allow me to liaise with the artists regarding their technical requirements. I put myself in charge of all things to do with the main stage and assigned the job of the community performers to the others in the group with Danny in charge of communicating with local schools and Sam in charge of societies and community groups.
In the first few weeks i began contacting pirate-like entertainment to match with the theme of the event. I gathered costings and performance content to share with the class. I wanted to think big with the entertainment as i felt if we had a big act such as a pirate band with all the gear and props, it would be another reason for people to want to come and aid towards the marketing and promotion. After sharing with the class, although a positive response it became clear there was not enough budget to obtain an act of this scale and i had to adapt my thinking from thinking big to thinking simple.
I then turned to Facebook to begin filling up the line up, i knew that all active artists are on Facebook and this is the quickest and easiest way to contact them for a response. I’m part of a few Facebook groups that focus on the music scene and gigs such as ‘Bands, Promoters, Gigs UK’ with 44,000 members across the UK and ‘High Wycombe music scene’ which has 600 members locally. I posted on these pages stating the event details and that we have space for artists and invited them to contact me if they were interested. This to begin with did not have much success, a couple of artists contacted me but i did not feel they were suitable for the event. I then learnt to be more precise with what i was looking for and hunt out artists i like the sound of and contact them myself, this worked a lot better. The requirements were family friendly music and preferably local artists who would not request a fee so i found this suited perfectly to Singer/Songwriters and small groups.  Upon some searching around Facebook i came across Erin Tiger Lilly and Harry Quinn who were available and up for playing at the event. Emma McGrath was also booked on recommendation from Alan and Wycombe Abbey school were also on the line up as organised by Danny.
One thing that i struggled with was the fact it frustrated me slightly that there didn’t seem to any much budget for artists and hundreds, if not thousands were being spent elsewhere on the event, eg. Decoration, rides, fencing. I felt a little embarrassed being a musician myself on a music management course that we aren’t providing a fee for artists. I learnt to negotiate and i arranged for a couple of the artists travel expenses to be covered.
I communicated with the artist via Facebook or Email and the conversations confirmed to me that this method of communication is the best way to do it. Instead of using a generic buckslivetalent@gmail... etc email they were talking to Tyler from Bucks uni which is much more personal. I also feel with online communications it allows for a more honest response and its clear if they are not interested as they will not reply or take a long time, whereas if they make the effort to reply quickly you know they are interested. I could also give the artists links to the event and they had enough time to take a look themselves, that is something that could not have been done via a phone call. My way of organising this was proven to be successful as despite others thinking its inevitable at least one artist wont turn up, they all showed up.
Once all the artists were confirmed i wrote up a running order which at first was simple but once we had to change the set time of Wycombe Abbey this had a domino effect meaning other times had to be changed. At one point i was completely stuck on what to do and was even considering cancelling an act as i could not see a way to fit them in, however this problem taught me the importance to ask for advice as when i brought up the issue in a seminar Alan was able to give advice on how i could change the holmergreen school band time to free up space in the middle of the day. It was a simple solution but i could just not see it myself and needed someone else to point it out. This issue was then resolved without any drastic changes.
Closer to the event, i lacked a bit of discipline to get back in touch with all the artists to gather their technical requirements. I kept putting off emails and telling myself i would send them tomorrow but this went on for longer than it should have. If i was to do the event again i would set myself strict deadlines to avoid this happening again. Once all the tech requirements were gathered i compiled a document with them all in to keep it organised and sent them over to Tamera who was in charge of Production. At this point i feel it would of been more beneficial to have more face-to-face meetings with her as i was unsure if she %100 fully understood the document and this led to me regularly double checking with her we definitely had a keyboard available for the choir etc and after i was still not sure if she fully understood.
On the day
On the day i found myself in charge of the meeting artists, managing the stage and the sorting the backstage area. In this role most of my day was spent greeting artists when they arrived, offering them use of the backstage area i had set up and making sure they got on stage on time. Other things i did included briefing the steward who was on the back fence on what to tell artists and the public regarding parking and public access and making sure the tech staff and MC were aware of what was going on. I wrote up a document with as much info on the artists and the event as i could to give to the MC, he was grateful for this and commented on how better briefed he was this time compared to last year, i asked him to announce information on the artists and tell the audience how much the rides and attractions were and to advertise the ‘guess the sweets’ game. I felt he done a great job and enjoyed working with him throughout the day however it was disheartening to find out afterwards he could not be heard around the site which made this effort feel a bit wasted. I think this was because of the position of the stage and the noise coming from the other end of the concourse.
The artists on the day were all fantastic, i heard many people commenting on how good they were however again it was disheartening to hear people saying they did not even notice the artists playing, if i was to do the event again i would request the stage to be in a different place to make the event actually seem like a live event and allow the audience to hear the artists better.  I quickly had to learn to adapt the running order i had in place weeks before to accommodate and extra performance which i had no say in but i feel i did this well and managed to fit it in with a bit of strategic thinking and problem solving skills.
Overall despite the majority of this post so far being positive, in my opinion the event was not successful and it was down to people not doing their jobs properly. My job was to fill the main stage and to run it smoothly, i feel i achieved this and others not achieving their jobs was where this event was let down. I went home proud of myself after the event as i pulled off my job. If something to do with the my role (Main stage) would have not gone smoothly I would of blamed myself and beat myself up if i had messed it up. I feel others would to quickly pass the blame and not take responsibility. Here is a few bullet points of what went wrong and how it could be better next time.
Stewards - For someone solely have the job of acquiring stewards and to have so little stewards turn up, this was a fail. Next time the first years and event society should be approached and communicated with well in advance and throughout the planning process. The event would likely not had been safe if more people had turned up due to this.
Social media - All throughout the planning process we were told we would be having good quality photos done however this never happened. Content was OK but content posted on our own page only goes out to our current ‘Likes’ so gained very little engagement. Little effort was made to gain new likes and followers on Facebook by reaching out to different pages. This is an area i should have helped more in, i had good ideas regarding spreading awareness on Facebook and doing a raffle but i never followed through with these ideas. I felt a bit like i was intruding as it was not my team but i should have done more to help out in this area. This led to a very low turn out on the day and was really disappointing to see all the rides not being used and was embarrassing to have the artists turn up and to ask them to start playing to a completely empty space. This was a fail by the marketing team but something i can’t complain about without taking responsibility too.
Decor - I feel with the money that was spent on decor it should have been better. We should have put a decor plan in place similar to the workshop plan to make sure it looked as good as it could.
Other things i would do if i was to do another event
Pay a graphic designer - the flyers we saw in lecture by Lizzie were a great example of how an event flyer should look. However despite ours being acceptable they did not look like the same professional quality, none of us in the class are graphic designers and i feel if we would have reached out we would of had a much more professional result.
Make sure everyone has a clear site plan - this would of made set up easier as less questions would of needed to be asked
What i learnt from being a team leader
This is the part i would change the most about how i handled things. I was a very laid back team leader and mostly focused on my own job while leaving the other two to focus on theirs. I delegated jobs out and trusted my team members to fulfil their job roles which to an extent they did but i feel more could have definitely been done if we had worked more as a team and helped each other out. Danny did a good job at booking Wycombe Abbey but he stopped there and did not do much else, there was a lot more he could of done to expand the roster of talent we had. Next time i would encourage him to contact more schools and not sit back on what he’d already done. Sam was in charge of societies and i feel she did well at getting 2 societies on board as it was clear many of them were not interested even after three of us tried contacting them. On the day i could have helped Sam more with setting up a performance area, but in reality we didn’t need one but as there had always been a performance area in previous years we had to try and set something up for the sake of it. After the event the group commented on how much the circus society added to the overall event and i think it was the right decision not to have them separated from the from the kids on a ‘performance area’. Overall what i learnt as a team leader is not to focus on just my own job role but to try and work as a collective team and share responsibility.
