ATEEZ as students studying
HONGJOONG:
king of self-care! but studies for 15 minutes then take a 2 hour break and calls it self-care (omg he thinks he’s me or smth)
has power naps every single day at least 30 mins because he’s Stressed
always thinking of ways to drop out during the middle of lectures
that one kid that talks to nobody & sits at the back of the class with his hood on to hide his airpods
doesn’t do it anymore bc one time it disconnected and “there’s some whores in this house” blasted out loud & now he’s paranoid
shows up to group studies but lets the group carry him,,, but he puts out One Really good idea to get his name on the paper
only cares about topics he’s interested in, other than that he’s just astral projecting
“yo can you send me your answers so i can compare mine?” but he copies it and says “we got the same answers” (all men do is lie</3)
calculates his marks; “ok so i need at least a 80 on this...oh wait no, a 95...damn okay...”
the type to arrives late with ice coffee
SEONGHWA:
wakes up at 5 am to study instead of staying up
scented candles and lofi music for the ~studying mood~
a linguistic learner
learns best by teaching others so he’ll do group studies often to help other people
teaches people without making them feel dumb
uses grammarly for his emails with 3 paragraphs asking 1 question with a proper greeting and a ‘sincerely, park seonghwa’
professor: ok - sent from iphone
you’ll never see him during exams week, he’s Gone
a loyal user of the outline method
his desk must be cleared at all times! a clean workspace makes it easier to focus
brings extra pencil just in case anyone needs them bc he’s the sweetest person ever (he’s fully aware that he’ll never get them back but it’s okay bc sharing is caring)
does his readings on time (you’ll never catch him slacking)
actually has his shit together for the most part 1/2
YUNHO:
writes “i love you” or “sorry” at the end of his tests (that he bombed)
the type to ask you to print “just one thing real quick” and it’s 15 page and at 2 am
uses emojis like :D & \(^o^)/ when sending emails to his professors
has a bad habit of copying word for word on the slide and he doesn’t actually understand/learn anything
goes to the library bc he thinks that’ll help him be in the ~studying vibe~
it doesn’t. ends up texting or watching youtube gameplay
has never heard of the colour-coding system in his entire life and ends up with a page filled with neon highlight
snacks breaks are the only thing keeping him Normal
leaves himself an encouraging note at the end of the reading page so when he’s finished he feels good !!
friends with all of the professors and uses all office hours
strongest points are his guessing skills in multiple-choice questions (process of elimination ftw!)
he tries his best, doesn’t care about marks that much because he knows it doesn’t determine him (and he’s right!)
YEOSANG:
probably runs a studyblr/gram
has the cutest note ever, his handwriting is so pretty!!
he thinks that buying an ipad pro & apple pencil will make him smarter
likes it bc he can doodle on it then erase them easily :”)
has to wear blue ray glasses because of how he looks at a screen so much
mildliners, muji 0.38 gel pen, 6 ring binder, minimal planner, washi tapes, you name it! he visits muji and daiso every other week
buys wayyy too many planners and notebooks which he never ends up using
only uses pastel mildliners because they’re easy on the eyes. cringes every time he sees yunho’s highlighters v_v
his flaw is that he spends 10 mins writing his header with brush tip pens
mutes the group project gc but gets his part done like the good classmate he is
sweats every time he gets an assignment back, takes a whole ten minute to mentally prepare himself
a visual learner; makes mind maps, flow charts, etc
actually has a working printer that he uses pretty often to prints lessons before class just to be Extra prepare
tells everyone he slept well but his bullet journal habit tracker for sleep says otherwise (plz rest!!)
exclusively uses college ruled paper like the sane person he is
SAN:
uses wide-ruled paper (unfortunately not everyone is perfect</3)
starts off very positive, motivated, and organized
then everything goes downhill by the second week
will definitely set byeol on top of his keyboard, take a picture, and send it to his professor as an ‘excuse’ as why he needs an extension (it works)
can’t sit still for any longer than 30 mins, his legs are always bouncing or fidgeting with pen
flashcard king! spends a lot of time on them but it’s worth it
a utensil chewer (always willing to share his pencil but when ppl saw the bite marks they’re like No Thanks >_>)
can’t study well with groups or himself bc he’ll be distracted,,, so he needs one person that can ground him bc when they’re in the zone, he will too be on his x game mode
sends his assignment at 11:58 pm hoping his professor will take the Hint (plz don’t be afraid to ask for help u_u)
prefers listening to ghibli studio soundtracks but then he either gets emotional or sleepy
sometimes forget to mute his mic and we just hear him groaning in frustration
“haha sorry i just stubbed my toe...”
then mutes his mic and goes back to his mental breakdown
MINGI:
the only person that studies every single day just to get his brain used to the information and running
probably listens to anime op or edm music for that Energy Boost
everyone either hates or love him because...
1. loves him bc he always comes clutched with study guides (and willing to share if he likes you enough)
2. he’s good at everything even if he’s not paying attention/doing it last minute
just naturally good at retaining information and applying them
asks Big Brain question that even the professors are shook
sometimes he gets super into the topic and wants to know Everything
“i’ve never failed an exam in my life” and he’s right! big brain mingi
fetal flaw is that he forgets easily (hence why the last minute) and has to write on his palm as a reminder
clicks his pens All the time so he switched to pens with caps just to keep others from jumping him
takes naps 10 mins before classes
actually has his shit together for the post part 2/2
“if no one got me, i know khan academy and quizlet got me. can i get an amen”
WOOYOUNG:
y’all know that one mf that doesn’t have a pencil?
yea he’s been using the same one someone lend to him before a test and never returned it
it’s been two months and it’s still working well and they’re never going to get it back
a minimalist,,,, but in a bad way</3 bc he carries his stolen pencil and paper that he spilled his energy drink over and that’s about it
just throw loose papers in his bag and forgets about their existence
doesn’t do binders or notebooks, just crumbled up paper
sometimes carries a textbook just to show everyone that he’s got his life together
really noisy for No reason, always wants to know other’s marks
a kinesthetic learner
hides his screen with he gets the kahoot questions wrong (you’ll never catch him slippin)
plays coolmathgames.com during class
doesn’t really know what to study/prioritize so he overwhelms himself with every single topic ever
thinks he’s god by pulling an all-nighter to look at the 60+ slides last minute
Swears he’ll change and do better next semester,,,</3
goes to the cafe, takes pictures of his notes & laptop, post it on his story, then leaves
JONGHO:
thrives off of red bull and ice americanos
gets notes and study guides from his upperclassmen because everyone loves jongho
an audio learner so he’ll probably work out or go on a jog while listening to lessons/audiobook
never pulls all-nighters bc it messes up his sleep schedule and says he’ll do it in the morning but he never does
doesn’t even own a highlighter, he’ll circle or underline stuff with a red or black pen
has never touched a textbook in his life
only the study guides and slides, his textbook is collecting dust rn
his notes are literally Only for him because his handwriting only makes sense to him
has questionable handwriting,,, it’s like decoding
multitasks a lot but it ends up taking a lot longer than he wanted to (bc it’s a myth)
very spontaneous; he’ll grind for 5 hours straight but sometimes he won’t even touch a pencil
works best when he talks about the work in groups and share information with each other, like having a convo about the topic
unmutes his mic Once after the lesson to say “bye”
does his work right after the lessons but then takes a short break & doesn’t even Look back for the rest of the night
-
a/n: tag yourself ! i’m a bit of hohong (i projected myself on all of them in some way lmaooo)

the one with the anonymous pen pal // w.y.k
wong yukhei x reader // university au // 3.0k words
in which y/n and lucas write notes to each other on their desks and love might just be on their side
A/N: I literally do not know how to write more than 3000 words at a time apparently, every time I write, I write 3000 and something words and I'm like yep thats it for the day thank you bye
“I love my class, I love my class, I love my class, I love my class,” you mumbled to yourself as you got dressed and ready for your 7am lecture, though you were seriously debating whether you should just drop it now. Picking up your hairbrush, you glanced in the mirror and winced, before placing the hairbrush back on your vanity and haphazardly tying up your hair.
You quietly shut the door to the bathroom as to not wake up your roommate and made your way silently to the kitchen. Grabbing an apple and the loose change that was left next to your keys, you decided to stop by the coffee shop on your way to your class. Glancing at your watch, you realised you might be cutting it a little thin, but you thought if there was any chance you were going to survive this class, it would be with a coffee in your hand.
“Order for Y/N!” You friend, Mark, yelled from behind the coffee counter. You rolled your eyes at him; despite being friends for years, he still made it his mission to yell out your name as loudly as possible every time you stopped by the cafe he worked at.
You huffed, grabbing your coffee from him and pretending to take back the tip you’d previously placed in the jar by the counter. He pouted at you, before beginning to make another coffee, “I’ll catch you later, yeah? We’re still on for dinner?”
“Last time I checked. Unless you have another ~date~,” you grinned mischievously at him, knowing full well that the person he was seeing made him super nervous and excited, and taking advantage of it as you teased him.
“Uh, no, I don’t,” Mark looked back down at the warm brown liquid he was pouring, suddenly intensely focussing on getting it into the cup, a light pink blush covering his cheeks.
Saluting him as you walked out the door, you called out, “Wish me luck!” He shook his head and called out another customer’s name, winking at you through the cafe windows.
Your morning classes were not normally that bad; you loved the subject, your professor was quite interesting and intelligent, and you found it easy to make effective and cohesive notes while the professor flicked quickly through his presentations. Despite all this, today, you seemed to be zoning out a bit - your tiredness from studying all night the night before and the ineffectiveness of the caffeine that hadn't yet kicked in - you found it difficult not to fall asleep in class.
Lazily, you wrote out a little ‘hi’ on your desk in pencil, dotting the ‘I’ with a heart and laughing deliriously at your own school girl antics. The word was small enough that no one would really notice it unless they were looking, the faint grey lead blending in with the wooden table.
However, once your class was over, and you had been forced to take notes and focus, you felt even more exhausted, dreading the following day when you had to return and do it all over again. Attempting to lighten your mood, you reminded yourself that tomorrow, Tuesday, was an afternoon class, and that you could at least get more than 5 hours of sleep tonight. Tuesday’s were always your favourite day of the week.
You met Mark for dinner, and had a chance to catch up over cheap spaghetti at one of the diner’s in town, “How’s Mina?”
He leant back in his chair, and you knew that he had been expecting this question from you, “She’s great. We’re still together, if that’s what you mean.”
“WHat’s that supposed to mean? Are you planning on ending things with her?” You looked up in surprise, knowing Mark had previously been so excited about her,
“No! No, God, no,” he laughed. “I would love to keep dating her. She’s amazing.” He nodded to himself as he raised his glass to his lips, and you recognised the dopey look on his face as unconditional love.
The next day, you had decided to wake up at a decent hour to get some work done before class, but had only been productive from about 11am onwards, choosing to spend your morning in bed or on your couch, the apartment empty with your roommate at her classes.
You met up with one of your other friends who took your afternoon class, and walked to the lecture room, debating one of the concepts you had been introduced to the following morning.
Sitting down at your usual table, you noticed a dark grey smudge on your desk and grabbed a tissue from your bag to wipe it off, before realising the smudges were blocky letters reading, ‘hello xD’. You smiled at the rather unattractive writing and smiley face before quickly wiping down your desk and writing in small letter in the top right hand side, ‘how are you’.
You figured it was the best bet, instead of writing ‘what’s up’ as the person would obviously be in a lecture, and writing any other probing questions would just come off as creepy.
As your professor entered, you mind quickly focussed on the subject at hand, and wandered from the response written on your desk.
After two weeks, you and your desk mate, whom you soon discovered used the same desk every lecture just as you did, had conversed a little more. Now, it was a habit to walk into your lecture room and write a response to your anonymous pen pal.
Well, anonymous isn't the right word. You had discovered your pen pal’s name was Lucas and he was studying international relations, and generally, his classes were next after yours (though there could sometimes be an hour interval), with the exception of Tuesdays, when your class was in the afternoon immediately after his.
When you entered your lecture room on Monday morning, your 7am class, you immediately made your way to your usual desk and looked closely at the top right corner, reading the messages read there that hadn’t yet been erased.
‘remind me again why I'm taking international relations’ ‘bc ur an international playboy’ ‘ye thats it - do u want to meet for coffee sometime?’
You opened your mouth in surprise, and, smiling, erased your conversation before writing, ‘sure, where? and when?’
By Tuesday afternoon, you had practically rushed to your lecture hall, excited to see if Lucas had responded yet. When the students for the international relations class began to stream out, you decided to squish through the foot traffic and see if you could cheat the system; see Lucas before your first meeting.
You couldn’t help but sigh in disappointment as you saw a an older man, perhaps in his 40s, stand up from your desk. As much as one could believe in love despite wide age gaps, there was no way that you were going to meet Lucas now.
He smiled politely as he walked past you, grabbing out his phone and keys and swiftly exiting with the rest of the students.
The disappointment in your chest was imminent and you began to make your way over to your desk, but as you began walking down the aisles, you noticed a tall boy your age sitting one row away from your desk gathering his things. You’d never seen him before, which made sense, as you were taking different classes, but wow, he was so attractive, you wanted to switch degrees right then and there. He was dressed in all black; black jeans, black shoes and a large black tshirt with the sleeves rolled up a little, showing off the curved, bronzed muscles of his arms.
Suddenly, it became difficult to walk.
You notice him watching the older man leave, before quickly making his way to your desk, a smile stretching wide on his face as he found the message you had written. You watched as he rummaged around in his bag for a pencil, and, finding a weird mechanical one, put one end in his mouth to pop the lid off and bending down to scribble a response. He was really tall, so he had to lean down quite far to write, and his laptop bag (also black) slid down his shoulder onto the floor. Looking up, he realised that now most of the seats were filling up with people from your next class, early arrivals who wanted to get their favourite seat or relax a little before it started, and reread his response.
After recapping his ? pencil ?, he picked up his bag, swung it over his shoulder and left the room, a wide smile stretched over his lips. He briefly made eye contact with you, and you smiled back politely, but you probably looked really surprised and awkward, as if you had never seen a boy before. Scolding yourself, you made your way to the desk to see what he’d written.
‘friday, 7pm, we can get dinner’
You smiled at his even messier handwriting as he was in a rush and grabbed out your own pencil, ‘perfect. also, u never told me ur really attractive smh’.
You didn't have a class on Wednesday, and you were unsure whether Lucas did, so you weren't at all hopeful that there’d be a message waiting for you on Thursday, but sure enough, there was.
‘can't wait ;) WHEN DID YOU SEE ME’
You laughed at the contradicting tones of his message and wrote a reply, ‘Tuesday, I thought u were an old guy’
You woke up on Friday morning with a frantically beating heart; today was the day you and Lucas would meet. You’d already seen him, and knew how attractive he was, and part of you was excited that you had a possibly-a-date-but-also-just-a-first-meeting with someone as attractive as him, but the other was worried that he’d think you weren’t attractive, and would immediately regret everything, that he would be disappointed by you somehow (A/N: irrelevant cause ur a gem).
You had five hours of classes today, but your class that was held in the lecture hall you had with Lucas was second, and that certainly did not help your focus for the first three hours.
When it was time for you to leave the quaint coffee shop, you waved to Mark, thanking him for the free coffee (a Friday tradition) and the lunch (which you unfortunately had to pay for) and made your way to your allocated room.
You glanced at your desk, your mind set with a little bit more ease at the words scrawled on the table, ‘I’ll see you tonight’.
It was simple, but for some reason, knowing that he hadn’t forgotten about your meeting and wasn’t planning on cancelling made you feel a lot better about the situation.
When you got back to your room at 4, you spent an hour with your roommate explaining the situation and trying to pick out clothes, all while watching spongebob (it was mostly just watching spongebob), before eventually beginning to get ready for your dinner.
“So, it’s not a date?” She questioned, her Hello Kitty pyjamas warping as she crossed her legs on the couch, pushing more crisps into her mouth.
“I haven’t met him yet,” you stated, your palms covering your face as you looked at your outfit in dismay. “He doesn’t even know what I look like.”
“But he asked you out?” Her voice broke in confusion, and you nodded, attempting to explain the situation for the millionth time. “I still think you should go with the bomber jacket.” She called back to you as you began to make your way back to the closet.
“Thank you!” You called, touching up your makeup for the last time and grabbing your keys. You pulled your phone out of your jeans pocket and looked at the time; 6:43pm. You should probably leave now if you wanted to be on time.
Walking to the restaurant did not take you long, and you arrived a few minutes before 7, but you immediately recognised Lucas in one of the booths, his brown hair tousled and his black leather jacket fitting snugly to his torso. He was staring at his phone and didn’t notice your approach, “Um, hi.”
He quickly shut off his phone and looked up at you, a large grin appearing on his face, “Hey, um... wow.” His smile faltered a bit at his blatant attraction to you, “I’m Lucas.”
“Y/N. It’s nice to finally meet you,” you stretched out your hand dorkily, and he laughed as he shook it and ushered for you to sit down.
“Wow, I genuinely thought you were an old guy,” you smiled, unsure how to begin the conversation with this stranger.
He laughed again, “Oh yeah, you saw me on Tuesday, right? Rude of you not to say hello, by the way. Anyway, by the time I got to class that day - my alarm didn't go off, don’t you hate that? - this older dude was already in my seat! And I was worried you’d left another message, so I had to write it after class.”
You continued to talk about the messages, before moving to classes and degrees, and then personal life, family and your pasts. It felt like you’d known him for ages, your conversation flowed naturally and you were still in awe at how beautiful he was.
He had an awful habit of clasping and unclasping his hands together while he talked, and you sometimes had to remind yourself to look at his face.
You were worried at how much you were attracted to Lucas, because he was so friendly, and he had certainly wound down the flirting, so you were unsure whether he felt the same attraction to you as you did to him.
You asked him about his dreams and goals, and he cringed and ran a hand through his hair (it was a painful yet astounding experience to witness that tbh) before answering and surprising you with music, when your dinners arrived.
He didn't hesitate in offering you some of his meal, though it soon became evident that he had a big appetite, and you ended up giving him the rest of yours anyway.
When it got close to 11, you decided to call it a night, and you split the bill and left the restaurant. The sun had set a while ago, and you were met with a dark and cloudy sky, and a cold wind. You shivered, and Lucas immediately slipped off his jacket to give to you.
You were astounded at how gentlemanly he was, and accepted it on the basis that you were quite close to your apartment and he’d have it back within 10 minutes.
Sometime during the walk, a bout of silence descended upon the two of you, which you had learnt was rare when you were with Lucas, and you felt the need to break it, “I had a really good time tonight.” You smiled at your feet shyly as you walked by his side.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw him glance at you, before smiling and bumping you with his shoulder, “Who would’ve known I’d like a cheater so much?”
You stopped walking, faking astonishment, “Me?! A cheater?!”
He noticed you had stopped and turned around to face you, a small smile tugging at his lips as he looked at your astonished face in amusement, “We were supposed to keep things perfectly anonymous, but you ruined it.”
“You were the one that asked me out,” you walked towards him with purpose, trying to prove your point.
“Oh, so this is a date?”
You stopped, your mouth opening and closing in confusion. You didn't know what to say, so you looked away from his smug face, “Come on, my building is just over here.”
He watched as you began to walk away, and then ran the few steps to catch up with you, and you pretended not to notice when his forearm brushed against yours, your hands sliding past one another briefly.
You looked straight ahead, only a hint of a smile on your face as you rolled your eyes, groaned - out loud - and slipped your hand into his.
Laughing, he held onto your hand and pulled you closer to him as you were walking, “I really enjoyed our date.”
You tugged him behind you into your building’s lobby and stopped in the warmth, “Oh, so this is a date?”
He smiled at your teasing nature, his free hand coming up to scratch the back of his neck nervously, as he looked over your head, at the elevator, anywhere but your face.
You poked his cheek and he looked back down at you in surprise, “I really enjoyed our date, too.”
Suddenly, the biggest smile you had ever seen on his face and appeared, and it made you smile, too. He was honestly just too attractive for his own good. You noticed his smile slowly disappear as he looked intently into your eyes.
Subconsciously, you glanced at his lips, trying to decide whether you like him more when he was smiling or when he was straight-faced, when he ducked his head a little and connected your lips.
One leg stepped backwards in surprise, but you steadied yourself and leant into him a little, kissing him back purposefully.
After a moment, he pulled back, his face tinged a light shade of red and his lips a little pinker, and nodding to himself stepped back, his hands still holding your waist and beginning to trail to your hands, “I have a class early tomorrow morning, so I’m gonna go, but I’ll text you.”
You nodded in understanding and bit your lip, “Okay, I’ll see you around.” You smiled and outstretched your arm as you began to leave while still holding his hand, but a quick tug caused you to rapidly spin around to face him again, and you took this opportunity to kiss him again.
You felt him smile into the kiss as your arms wrapped around his neck, and he pulled you closer to him, his large hands clasping your waist. This time it was you who pulled back, “I think you were just leaving.”
He cocked his head teasingly, “I think I have a little more time.”
well, there ya have it folks!!!! a completed lucas imagine who would’ve known!!! dont forget to hit up the ask box if you want to see a bonus part (e.g. Mark and Mina, Lucas’ POV, Lucas getting ready for the date, Mark and Lucas ??) because I love exploring the skipped sections and plot holes lmao
